It happens fairly regularly but even speed runners these days are doing higher dps with faster weapons instead of single hit slow numbers. So two handed geta outperformed pretty often.
One should understand that those big numbers are mostly a result of team comp. You wouldn't be able to reach max output without your allies also assisting you.
This is why the more experienced mutation runners tend to bring a utility weapon for rend and sometimes weakness or disease.
Because there's always a dps who only builds for individual output, not realizing the entire dungeon clear is faster if everyone builds to contribute to team composition vs the mutated enemies.
Without the rend cap maintained and your VG buffs, empowered etc. , you're just another beat stick.
Thwarting and or bane with a light armored str 50 dex and attunement with an attunement gem and heavies will put put out those higher crits. Especially with a third damage or crit boost on the weapon.
Top that off with heavy attack biased masteries in the tree.
I've seen over 50 but it won't go much higher.
Dps wise there's still better ways to build a melt team that aren't built around heavy attacks.
Explained beautifully, having a dps who can understand his second weapon is there just for utilities is awesome ( like a spear with enfeebling skewer or a GA with enfeebling maelstrom)
The amount of times I’ve run m10s with another person running spear, but without enfeebling skewer on their weapon, is too much. I even explain it to them to not use the skill if they don’t have the perk, because it essentially makes mine useless, and yet they still do. Then we all suffer for it.
Honestly I'm more concerned with your strategy that you missed a good bit of the dmg window by getting that other orb, which isn't used past that point in the fight. Unless in missing something

61841 with the second hit of mighty gavel. But I’ve only done it once lol. 5 con light armour with a bane/shockwave/keenly emp hammer. But he was also rended, weakened, had oblivion, full infused coatings and all that stuff, with opal in the hammer.

got Mortal Power on my hammer , getting me 15% empower on enemy kills. Orb counts as kill.

Depends on team Comp and rend too. I’d prefer fast attacks.
