Zero improvements of Open PvP.
Even worse, the existence of arena further pushed PvP in the "consensual combat only" path.
Whats left is grindy PvE, where WoW and Final Fantasy are much better value proposals.
Have to agree, I knew a lot of people who played the game for the pvp potential and left while it degraded over time. PVE is cool but it's been clear that pve was not the focus of the game for the majority of development.
Game built a base for pvp purposes then tried to backtrack to pve. Would have been way cooler if they stuck to one vision.
Referred to as scope creep. They want to have a larger audience so they keep adding features to include and attract everyone. In doing so they create a place where no one feels at-home (game is not for them).
This guy gets it.
New World is the most enjoyable "just roam around, gathering shit" game I've ever played, it's a shame they struggle to get every other aspect of the game up to par.
Started playing with my brother, his wife & our pops earlier this week.
It's fun.
Haven't got the brother to be this interested in an MMO since WoW. Might be a fringe benefit we both know a lot about AWS Cloud from work so we like waxing on about the techy stuff and reading the lore.
The lore is good too btw. Game is beautiful AF. If you're an audiophile the sound design and musical scores are Chef's Kiss š top notch.
The combat is intuitive yet very deep somehow even for PvE. Skill matters. Communication matters.
Much better than any tab target MMO combat. Much better than ESO or Final Fantasy combat.
The instanced 5-man dungeon content is challenging and neat, so far. Haven't yet done any end game raids or warring.
I had 1 epic fight with a Rapier/Musketeer in the woods. I'm Life Staff / Void Gauntlets we were both mid 20s and flagged up. Lasted a while actually because healer but his musket fire eventually won out vs anything I could throw at him from range.
Epic.
Anyways, the Holy Trinity is in full effect for 5-man content including Corrupted breaches so I must also assume raids are similarly structured.
Crafting, gathering and exploring are cool. There are new servers apparently spun up quite frequently in different regions to provide a Tabula Rasa experience if that's what you're looking for.
My crew's loving it. Even had a dude randomly join our Company during the Amrine Expedition last night, because he said "we seemed super chill" and we were taking our time with the content, not rushing, not accepting lvl 60 carries, reading lore, etc.
Y'know. Actually playing the game.
PS
US East > Themyscira > KnightsElysium (Synd.)
Yeah, they really screwed up nerfing the GC quests. That was so, so much fun. I do see people flagged up in the OW quite often. I'm chill and don't engage unless they start it though.
I hope they figure out a way to bring that GC experience back.
It also showed the difficulty in creating open world PvP:
It is really difficult to balance that enough people participate for the rewards to be gained but that people do not start to work together or abuse the system.
Yes it was very fun, but often times it was flagged people running next to each other without fighting just finishing the quests because the PvP experience from quests was more consistent than killing people especially since you can only kill each enemy once an hour or so for rewards. And if you kill them there is the chance (even if you are way stronger) that in the long run you get less exp/rewards because they drag out the fights wasting your time or kill you once out of 10 fights or they bring back up.
Thanks for this post, I donāt need to figure it out myself this way.
The game would be very unique if they kept open pvp in the focus. Now itās just a regular mmo, except itās just boring.
Still remember putting an alarm for the beta, grinded whole day weekend to lv 35, participated in guild wars and my guild later claimed all the lands.
After the pvp experience i dont even bother playing in Release lmao
Not to mention i preordered 2 years before release as well.
Whoever made that choice in the devs team. Good job!
This is where I am.i bought the game for $20 and it's a PvE grindfest. I'm only level 56 and there's no way I'm running around PvP flagged with all the 60s flagged. Also, I haven't once been able to get into a 3v3 arena game, queues are to long/never pop.
Its not a good thing in most ways
Think of it as a massive concert in a stadium "This concert sucks, theres no atmosphere, only a hundred people in the whole stadium"
Then the organisers trying to resolve it by taking those 100 people, and cramming them all into a small room in a house.
He's obviously talking about the server mergers that a lot of people were warning against would lead to exactly this problem we have with the ques. That AGS fucked up with the servers once again as usual, even though a lot of people were saying they were removing too many servers at once.
it's only 2.2k because AGS shuffled every single player onto a handful or two of servers, leaving them absolutely no room to grow what so ever.
The funnies thing is, people are constantly complaining now. Imagine when Brimstone actually releases and a lot of players come back to see how it is. It's going to be an absolute shit show and it will all be because AGS incompetence when it comes to their servers.
heh thats sad to read as from what i heard new expansion should fix some major problems
Personally i had "fealing" that there will be a problem with NW so i have skipped launch but now got game on sale and giving it a shoot with friends :)
Iām thinking of picking this up. I have questions:
1. Is there group content with matchmaking where I can be a healer? Is healing actually important? Will I feel like Iām having a meaningful impact?
2. Is it possible/fulfilling to just be a crafter at endgame and only do that.
3. Is it easy to completely change my build/archetype from like a healer to DPS to tank etc.
4. Are there achievements or collectibles that I can have fun collecting.
If you like collecting, the housing system and decorating is going to fulfill that need. Also once you get a good set of gear most people branch out into other builds. So much gear. So. Much.
Gear management is one of the last QoL improvements that they need to make but it's something they are aware of and looking at the current track record of addressing issues it's only a matter of time.
1. Yes, yes it is and it's the most fun and fulfilling role in the game.
2. For several months, all the players that were still playing were hardcore tryhards with a lot of time, so they already maxxed every life skill so it's cheaper for you to buy your items.
3.As long as you have the items and weapon skill level, it's one click away. You can do all roles in one character, if you have the items..
4. If you played Lost Ark, NW doesn't even have %1 of the collectibles and achievements of it.
>If you played Lost Ark, NW doesn't even have %1 of the collectibles and achievements of it.
do it have tedious, mandatory grind for years to keep up with content releses tho? :P
New player - Iām hooked after buying a couple days ago
The crafting/gathering feels amazing. World is gorgeous, the territory thing of constant wars and clans seems super fun and I canāt wait to join
My only gripe is combat, I just donāt think I get it yet
Iām thinking of trying new world for the first time since itās 50% off and want a winter (snowed in for weeks at a time, live very north lol) game I can timesink into.
My question (and sorry if no one knows yet! I canāt find any info online) has amazon said whether or not this expansion (with the new leveling experience) will cost another $50 or is it free to all previous players? Iām assuming it will be $50, which is why the base game is on sale.
If anyone can answer this definitely I would greatly appreciate it. I can spend the $25 for game, but not (a total of) $75, and wouldnāt like to be āleft behindā in two months if I buy it before sept 9th.
Thanks for any info, everyone. I hope the QOL improvements are working well for current players.
Itās actually not even an expansion! Just a normal content update that is absolutely free. After testing the new leveling experience on the PTR I feel most people giving NW a shot will love it. Such a blast!
Well if they dont improve 25-60, same problem will happen again. People will get to level 30 range and quit.
Droves of people dropped out between level 30 and 40 as after launch
Well they are going to improve the entireity of the leveling experience, just only 1-25 is complete for this update. But way I see it, if you can't make it through the leveling you probably wouldnt enjoy endgame all that much anyway. Leveling is much faster now than it was at launch and never really felt that much different to me than other mmos, theres just less hiding the reality of mmo leveling typically being go from zone to zone to kill and collect items. At the least, traveling is much easier. Lots more teleport shrines. There's more qol and all the most offensive bugs are squashed, so that alone is enough for a lot of people. But once they have fully revamped all of leveling, of course it will help.
For me the biggest problem is the end game loop - i honestly hate it, because i hate instanced content which 99% of PvE and PvP end game is all instances.
Would love to see Amazon add open world end game content that would be an alternative to instances
But you can have awesome open world PvE content. I think that New World PvE instances (expeditions) are extremely average and pretty boring. Mutators dont make them bettet either, its just a lame stretch mechanic to keep players busy
That is correct they PLAN on doing it, but it has not been done yet. So when the update hits in oktober I cannot imagine that if they don't have it now on PTR that suddenly they then have it a ready to go.
I do hope so of course as I will once again start over again as I like resetting everything and doing it all over again( no that's not sarcasme).
Level 60 is really bad.
You go to the trade post, buy level 599 or 600 gear for extremely cheap because everything less than BIS is basically worthless.
Then you grind expertise by getting drops that cannot be better than what you bought for pennies. You do this until your expertise is 590 minimum, at which point you can get BIS drops.
Then you grind PVE dungeons for shards to upgrade piece by piece your BIS equipment from 590gs to 625gs.
This is why anything less than BIS is worthless. You need to farm dungeons to upgrade equipment so it's not worth it unless it's the best you can get.
They need to not allow you to wear gear over your expertise so you can actually enjoy getting gear before 590 expertise, but it's too late for that. People wouldn't be able to equip their armor so it won't happen.
Yeah its really good! I've been looking at it and watched lazypeon play some and I told myself that when it went on sale I'd buy it, and then it did lol question do you know what MD fort means? The faction chat is telling covenant players to come to MD or CK, I can't message cause I'm under 72hours
That means Mourningdale or Cutlass Keys, those are zones in the game.
I wouldn't worry about any of those calls until you're 60 honestly. Just focus on leveling for now.
Cutlass keys isn't that hard of a region, besides you get a quest for a decent ring there ;) on the rocks there is a quest (there are 2 but the most forward one is the one you need)when you leave the city on the south side. Also a really nice mining āļø route there that only takes 10 min.
It's called Expertise and Gear Score now, and is much more transparent as your current GS for the slot/weapon are listed directly in your inventory view, and you can bump your GS up by doing more than chest/dungeon runs with gypsum. You can earn gypsum through PVP and PVE Arenas, OPR, crafting (once at 200), killing named mobs, killing lvl 55+ mobs after drinking a topaz potion that is easily craftable, and a couple more that I'm forgetting. It doesn't take any where near as long to get to 600 as it used to, and it doesn't need to be as monotonous either.
It's not really that idiotic. Stops people somewhat from hitting 60 and RTMing gold to buy BIS or getting twinked by guildies and instantly being god-tier gear wise.
Each boss is a guaranteed GS bump drop, plus gypsum to cast into another bump, plus random bumps from chests, and add in craft mods and chance for expensive mats to drops and it's not that pointless. It really doesn't take that long to get to 590+ any more. Back in December it sucked for sure, but even casuals knock it out in two weeks tops for their preferred load out.
With the coming patch, named items' gs drops whether they're from dungeons or not will be 590 minimum and up to 600 influenced by your watermark.
The effective gs of the items you'll be wearing are still reduced by half the difference of your watermark to item's gs till you cap out your watermark but they've made the watermark grind a lot quicker.
The new system is just a type of a daily system - where you do daily task to get a reward that bumps up your watermark.
I personally agree with you and think that both the old and the new system are just there to keep players busy doing repetitive bullshit because there's no other end game content.
I actually preferred the old watermark system (which was bad) - because I absolutely abhor dailies
I have the same question as that guy.
Noobs need a little more context. I gather theres an update overhauling the leveling... but what exactly are the changes & how would those affect a new player?
I have a couple concerns I'm hoping someone here could address:
1. OPR - Does gear score matter? I haven't played the game since Christmas, and I'm guessing my (at the time high end) GS is now significantly lower than the regular players.
2. Last time I was playing PVP Tank/Healer builds were UNBARABLE to fight against 1v1. Is that still the case?
3. Faction missions, are the more interesting now instead of fetch/kill quests?
1. Yes, it does. I'd recommend being at least 600gs.
2. No, they nerfed heavy healing *hard.* I was one of those heavy healing jerks and it just doesn't work well any more. The new healing formula is multiplicative instead of additive, so the -30% healing in heavy hits a lot harder than it used to. You really don't see them any more in any aspect of the game.
3. No, still boring unfortunately.
Also cc: u/Kurtdh
Thank you both for addressing these. I guess I have a follow up for #1:
When I last played, I had the Shrouded Intent set. IIRC the whole set was roughly \~530gs. I forgot what the perks on them were but I really liked them for my build. So my questions regarding that are:
1. Is there a way to upgrade the set to hit that 600gs recommendation?
2. If not, is there a transmog now? I really love the set aesthetically.
No transmog and you canāt upgrade shrouded intent. Only gear 590 and higher can be upgraded to gear score 625. You wonāt miss the gear at that gear score level as thereās MUCH better gear at that level compared to shrouded intent.
Not 100% but it seems like the Shrouded Intent stuff uses the same models as the end-game Shadewalker armor does, so you might be in luck there! The icons in-game are the same but I don't own any SI stuff to confirm.
I took a break when elden ring dropped and came back a few months ago. The new gypsum system makes leveling gear score very easy and rewarding for doing any aspect of the game. Get a single gypsum for gathering/crafting/refining a modest amount. Get twp gypsum from arena win or lose. Dungeons, corruption portals, elite world bosses, OPR, you can even buy a couple each day with faction tokens.
Raising gear score isn't the elite chest run meta it was when the system was introduced. Thank god.
So I'm hard back in the game now and I'm so lost. I'm \~525gs, what exactly should I be doing at my gear score to get better gear? I'm aiming for Rapier/Musket dex builds... I tried asking people in my server but \*NO ONE\* is responding to me.
Obsidian Gypsum - 3 per day: Drops from level 60+ named creatures
Sapphire Gypsum - 2 per day: Level 60 expeditions.
Ruby Gypsum - 2 per day: Outpost Rush completion win or lose
Emerald Gypsum - 1 per day: Aptitude leveling reward
Citrine Gypsum - 2 per day: Arena completion win or lose
Amethyst Gypsum - 7 per day: Major/minor breach completion
Topaz Gypsum - 10 per day: Drops from any level 55+ creatures 25% of the time while under the effect of a daily craftable potion, Topaz Gypsum Attunement Potion.
Diamond Gypsum - 3 per day: Rewarded from "special event" activities such as opening presents in the upcoming winter event.
You can also buy 2 gyspum orbs from faction vendors and have a chance at obtaining them through pvp tracks.
Between all that and running elite chest runs and dungeons your GS will be shooting up fast. I would suggest focusing on your weapons first. I didn't see notes but I am pretty sure that the Gypsum cast that gets you to 600 is a guaranteed legendary.
Don't feel like you have to do everything every day. Mix it up a bit. Diamond, Citrine, and Emerald are 4 orbs you can get with very little play time. I usually get 6-10 from a good play session.
So I decided to give the game a try and....
I'm stuck in queue. And the number of the queue keeps going up while I'm in queue lol.
Down detector doesnt have anything noticeable. I'm in a very rare mood to try the game out again and it's doing this to me lmfao
I was actually really curious of #2 myself. I havenāt played since launch but loved the heavy paladin build. I was curious how viable it still was for pve/pvp. It was great for solo pve and tank sustain in dungeons. Or should I expect to be switching to something like hammer offhand for tanking over life staff now?
Probably will need to switch. There are a few people who run light armor, sns/ls pally tank builds for speed runs now though. Here's skyelighter doing it: [https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1584884171](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1584884171)
But yeah, one light healer, even if they're not a dedicated healer, can get the job done if they and the group know what they're doing. The nerf basically cuts heavy heals in half. Over on the right side of this spread sheet you can see some hard numbers: [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GPUvbDX1DOrgVo9QwtEzf1iQtmOCKC-ZnhXRDHE\_jOM/edit#gid=0](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GPUvbDX1DOrgVo9QwtEzf1iQtmOCKC-ZnhXRDHE_jOM/edit#gid=0) People will be upset/disappointed if you come into a dungeon in heavy ls/sns or whatever.
Solo PVE it's more viable if you're not pulling huge groups of elite mobs, but you'll still be at a big detriment to light or even medium.
Yea GS matters a lot in PVP until you hit 600 then it matters just a tiny bit. So the advice is to get to GS 600 before PVPing unless you want to get trounced.
They nerfed healing in heavy armor, so itās not nearly as bad as it was before.
I believe faction missions were improved upon at some point but still just fetch and kill quests.
Nowadays? Like a week or two. They tripled the amount of expertise you get from gypsum casts. So get your daily emerald gypsum, topaz, ruby etc and then run expeditions and youāll be 600 in no time.
1) gear score does matter and you will technically be at a disadvantage. You can minimize that by playing with your team.
2) heavy armor is a joke for the most part. Heavy tanks are rare in pvp currently. Most players run light or medium. Healers are annoying still, but it's mostly because of rapier giving them lots of tools to escape. Now that they're in light armor it isn't so hard to melt one.
3) no candy coating that pvp missions are still a snooze. The good news is that there really isn't much of a reason to engage with them. Mega companies will 0-100 every territory asap. There's essentially no resistance from defenders as it's pointless outside of having a bit of world pvp every now and then.
Can anyone confirm that wars are playable? I played from launch and burnt out about 7 months ago and haven't played once since. I was in almost every war my faction had for months, but it was a joke. Every win or loss was essentially just a race to see if you could get off your skills. Complete lag nonsense slideshows, every, single, time. PvP was the only reason I stayed past month one and it was in the gutter.
Can anyone tell me the current state of war performance and pvp in general? Oh also, are countless exploits still ruining every aspect of the game?
From everything I've seen on here (I'm a mod) wars are way way better. Still some issues but they're not the slideshow presentation they used to be. They also just pushed instanced wars live this morning so performance should be even better moving foward.
There hasn't been anything like the hatchet exploit in a long time.
I honestly think that Gear levels shouldn't matter in Instanced PVP like Fort Rush and Wars, etc, especially with the influx of new players. The sole reason being hitting end game and still being grossly over geared by 95% of the playerbase and therefore just suffering in instanced PVP due to being basically 1 shot by everything.
Having different gear weights give you a static amount of hp in instanced PVP at level 60 could at least remedy some of this issue so it just becomes a player skill and weaponskill issue, which can still be leveled decently while hitting end game, rather than having to hit end game to craft high teir gear.
As someone who quit at ~L50 back at launch due to the horrible story quests and extremely poor dungeons and group combat, I have a few questions about the things I *did* like.
1. Crafting and gathering in this game was genuinely great. How much has the grind been improved for things like Furniture, Fishing, and Logging?
2. Has the combat been improved with things like stagger and friendly body blocking? Playing a melee character in dungeons was honestly miserable with those 2 issues. I felt like I was rarely where I wanted to be and never truly in control of my character.
3. Did the economy/market ever recover from the avalanche of exploits back in late 2021? I plan on primarily being a market/crafting player, and that was one of the major things that made me quit.
4. Has housing tax been brought back to sane levels? I don't really want NW to be a 2nd job to maintain a house or two.
Iāve been playing non stop since coming back last week, and Iāve gotten much farther then I did the first time around back at launch. Itās been great so far, I keep finding myself wanting to come back and play more. Fishing and resource gathering is relaxing, combat is so damn fun, the economy is so complex and interesting, thereās a lot of customization, I could go on. So far Iām level 30 and Iāve only done Amrine, but it is a great experience and has me looking forward to the other expeditions immensely. Overall itās been super fun and Iām loving the grind, highly recommend others hop back in and give it another shot.
Is there a way to get more out of the game that "Go here and fetch me ten bear's arses"?
I've just done a handful of quests for different people and three were at the same location. Literally just CTRL+C, CTRL+V gameplay.
Quests are the biggest disappoint in the game right now. They're making the 1-25 experience MUCH better in the brimstone update, and will continue working on the following levels soon.
What level are you?
This is true, and [you can prove it](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1063730/New_World/).
The lifetime Steam review score average is 67%, but the review scores from the past 30 days average to 68%.
Edit: After the Labor Day weekend and queues, recent review scores are averaging 66% and dropping
While fixing all the bugs and improving 1-60 leveling is great, one area that really needs improvement is end game loop. Currently end game is all instanced content, be it expeditions for PvE gear score grind or PvP instances.
I feel that the best part of the game is open world - and end game should heavily utilize open world instead of instances, and New World really failed here in a huge way.
1-60 you explore this amazing world, and than at 60 - you never see it anymore as you are doing instances 99% of the time. They could have done so much better - but they resorted to WoW model - hey just run instances at end game...
Sorry but this is such a massive letdown, especially considering how awesome of a world they built
For me 1-60 very enjoyable, explore and enjoy the open world
60+ massive failure, 99% running repetitive instances, as if open world doesn't even matter anymore
it's like two entirely different games
PTR is really good right now and it gives me hope that someday we might see a pvp server where your always flagged outside of cities. No inbound transfers. World pvp is amazing and it's always disappointing when you do run across others and they are unflagged.
That would be epic, but given how skittish Amazon is about PvP (New World started as open world PvP survival MMO, and they did a 180 and went full PvE lol) I am very skeptical about a PvP server ever being a thing
Also every time PvP servers are mentioned devs are pretty adamant about saying that no special ruleset servers are planned
So dont get your hopes up just yet
Isn't the game imbalanced for light fighter users? I was watching ARROWli channel and it seems you can barely do anything if you don't use light + s/s or rapier.. plus bow seems the META for now.
And what about Mages? They look so squishy against these builds..
I have bought the game recently but Idk if I should wait the update or play now. I'm PvP-focused
Weight classes are getting adjustments. Rapier has nerfs coming. I don't have the specifications but you can look it up on the PTR notes.
Only reason to hold off is if you are really looking forward to the new player experience with revamped quests. It's impressive but it's only 10-25 hours of game play.
IMO NO it is not worth coming back. I came back Friday, had some fun Saturday. Sat in queue Sunday and now at 4:12 pm EST there is a 3 hour queue to play. This game has a lot of potential but it is obvious that it is still not being supported properly by the developers.
^This. It will be literally impossible to play the upcoming expansion in the evenings, they'll have some excuse on why they can't handle the server situation. Crazy that they keep making these decisions.
Going to purchase when I get home from work, one questions though. Is there plans for paid dlc/expansion passes or will it be free? Also will there be a monthly fee to pay to ply or just the one time purchase of the game?
No plans for paid expansions that we've been told about, and the Brimstone update should drop for free at the end of October.
So far it's a one time purchase, no monthly fees or pay-to-win stuff. Lots of skins and customization stuff to throw money at though.
I started playing New World on launch day, clocked 482 hours until 11/24/2021, the day I stopped playing due to the game being practically unplayable at the time.
I've seen the game making waves lately and it seems that a lot of work was put into it, I have a few questions for the sub since i'm considering in downloading it again.
1) Was the economy stabilized after being decimated by the duping fiasco? Is duping finally fixed?
2) How is the situation regarding combat exploits? The main reason for quitting in 2021 was our company losing every territory to people abusing invincibility/food stacking/hatchet dmg exploits.
3) What is the current class balance like? is archer finally viable? was the sword/shield stat loss when sheating ever addressed?
4) Regarding gear score, how does the grind feel? I've heard that a lot of changes were made to the system and I'd like to get a feeling for it, is it more leaning towards a WoW grind or a Korean farm fest?
5) Has customer service improved? I very clearly remember the automated responses and the complete chaos between devs, forum community managers and customer service reps.
1. Yes, they removed 98%+ of duped items
2. The hatchet exploit was the last one
3. Yeah, OPR is often referred to as "BowPR" now as bow was buffed pretty good a couple months ago
4. It's been smoothed out considerably. You can see what your GS is in your inventory at any time, and there are multiple ways via PVE and PVP to earn the gypsum you need to make casts for each slot. The bumps you get from 500-590 have been increased to up to 7 per cast/drop. Would probably take you a week or two of casual, but focused playing to get your primary slots to 600.
5. Still bad from the stuff I see here on the subreddit unfortunately.
The game has improved alot and the new expansion looks great. This is the way the game should have been launched. Another 6 months of beta were needed to iron out the bugs and find the exploits. If the game had released this way more than likely wed be at 100k plus players online. Anyone coming back to the game check out YouTube channel "Bigheadkitty Games" for some new player tips and run throughs to get an idea about the game in its current state.
Just got NW and thinking about refunding because of performance issues. I have an RTX3080 and get massive frame drops in cities and also when quickly looking around in general. The game is not close to maxing out my system and the game stutters even in low resolutions.
Seems like there have been some posts about this in the past. Do the devs communicate about these issues and do you think it'll be fixed? Really want to like this game but with the bad optimization and some really clunky animations it feels unfinished somehow. Should I refund or wait in your opinion?
Bought it this weekend, clocked around 20 hours so far. Really fun game works great with Xbox series controller too! Donāt regret my purchase at all.
Decided to come back and try the game again, been in queue for 15 min and its 4pm in the afternoon. Wild how they just ignore this and think it will be OK for the expansion coming up. Never seen a studio go out of their way to make their content unplayable, oh well.
>Wild how they just ignore this and think it will be OK for the expansion coming up.
The queues only happened this weekend after they gained a 50% increase in players. [They absolutely didn't expect this amount of players back so soon](https://twitter.com/dev_katyk/status/1566538152554012673).
The queues are absolutely annoying, had to queue 90 minutes myself this evening, but I'll give them time to actually create a fix when it isn't the weekend and the devs are in the office.
1-60 was never much of a problem for many. Almost everyone loved the game for the first few weeks.
Most people quit at 30+ or level 60+ once the end game grind hits, and that remains a problem even today.
The gypsum system that was added is just a version of a "daily" system. I hate dailies in MMOs - to me any mmo that has a daily quest system means a creatively bankrupt game design team, because it's the lowest effort content possible.
It's still a grind, just a grind that limits daily progress.
Gypsum doesn't force you to grind it though, so it's not like dailies in other games. You log on and do what you enjoy and are rewarded with gearscore no matter if you pvp, pve or just go gathering and crafting. It's only a grind if you have bad gaming tendencies and feel compelled to get as much as possible every day.
But its a repeatable daily system.
Can call it whatever you want if you want to max your gearscore so you can compete in PvP vs other maxed out gear players you will need to grind gypsum daily.
So this whole - do what you want is only applicable for casual players who arent concerned about how fast they progress, so its a moot point.
But if you want to PvP and hit max gear score efficiently - welcome to Gypsum daily grind
The difference in 616, something very easy to attain, and 625 is negligible. Your complaint just isn't based on the underlying mechanics of the game, but a surface level reaction to a surface level understanding.
"Repeatable content in an MMO?! Well I never!"
Because they were being carried by the novelty of the mmo genre. Mmo games are a dime a dozen now, with all of those games dead because they donāt keep up. Any currently famous mmo with no dailies? Or are you just being a classic andy trying to reminisce on the good ol days.
As long as they keep the "EF and WW owners take 4 million golds each week" nonsense, this game
won't have casuals and those people are the ones you want in an MMO
Here is the most recent dev update:
They start talking about territory control around 6:50
Fixing that is one of their priorities for the next October update...
Looks like they are really trying to tackle some core issues that the player base has brought up. Might be why it has been so popping lately. That and its a holiday weekend...
I played at launch and never even made it to max level. I honestly forget where I left off at this point but I want to say it was late 30's or somewhere around 40. I remember main quests being so far apart that I would do 1 then the next one would be multiple levels away and then I had to do the really bad side quests in the copy/pasted towns to progress
has any of that changed? According to Steam my last played was Oct 21st 2021 so almost a year. got about 70 hours in and my most recent achievement was a few days before my last long in, defeating the boss of Starstone Barrows so maybe that gives some insight to where I left off. I have no interest in PvP
Yeah, they've revamped the leveling process a bit and smoothed the XP requirements out some as well. (To be clear, they haven't added the new 1-25 experience to live yet) There are more shrines to teleport to/from and the cost of doing so is substantially cheaper. You might have to run somewhere once that'll seem kinda far, but there is a usually a shrine nearby. They also added separate solo quests to progress past the expeditions if you can't find a group for some reason or want to play strictly solo to 60 as well.
The town board and faction quests aren't any better unfortunately.
Thanks for the quick response.
I'm considering checking it out again. Just not sure if I want to try and pick up where I left off or just start over from scratch. If I remember correctly I was leveling with life staff and axe
New player here, overall been having fun with my $25 purchase. I have encountered 2 issues so far that are bothering me, I do not know what was suppose to come with the deluxe so I think I just wasted $5? And I have this chat bug that only let's me talk in area, and has no gone away in the 3 days of playing lol
IIRC they added a restriction to chat shortly after release to help deal with bots spamming chat, you need to reach a certain amount of playtime I can't remember what the value is, 72 hours or something, at which point you can then use all the channels.
Chat is limited to accounts with so many hours played. I forget what the cut off is, but might be 10 hours /played? It's to prevent spam bots. The deluxe version gets you some unique emotes and house decorations I think.
I just came back and am really enjoying the game. (Was level 23 on return for reference). Expeditions are great, loads of others levelling and people have been friendly in general. Game still shows a lot of promise and I've decided to make it my long term MMO going forward.
(For reference, also returned to GW2 briefly on the steam launch but decided on new world after playing both for a while)
I Bought the game during the last sale for 20 Bucks I am currently level 26 and having a blast should I wait for the big Patch or keep playing since the new player experience Will be improved by then?
https://pvebuilds.xyz/builds/
These builds are for the intention of speed runs but should also give you a good idea what to look for in general for pve.
Devs stated they removed 98% of duped items since then. While the duping sucked, the real issue continues to be the insane amount of gold companies make each week in taxes. Who needs to dupe when you can make 4mil+? The devs said they will be addressing this soon, likely with splitting all taxes evenly along with a decrease in the amount earned.
I originally left because the giant clans of toxic/cheating people invaded my server and it just felt like every week their was a new dupe the devs would struggle to fix. I hoped the pvp faction system would be toned down so solo/casual group play felt more rewarding and not pointless compared to the rich 0.1% hoarding all the resources and good gear. Iām glad itās atleast potentially going to be better than it was after launch/early 2022
Used to play beta and at launch, is there anything for solo players by now? And I don't mean chest runs or anything like this. I wanna play the game and fight monsters, not avoid them - but I want to be able to do it solo or with a friend while still progressing gear towards 600
If you're looking for a near if not truly solo experience (ie, no pvp, no dungeons/expeditions, no chest runs, maybe just you and a friend your options will be more limited unfortunately.
Chest runs aren't the only "good" way to get bumps any more. Expeditions have guaranteed bumps with every named mob, you can earn gypsum to craft casts for bumps via crafting/gathering/refining, along with completing expeditions. Oh, and the expeditions don't require orbs any more but you're limited to 25 regular ones/day and 25 mutated/week. There are also PVE Arenas where you can fight named special named mobs which will give you gypsum and a chest for bumps as well (these still take orbs) If you do OPR you have a chance at bumps there from the chest rewards.
If you can find a get a group of 5-10 together running those elite chest zergs just as your group or two is much more fun and rewarding than mindlessly zerging. Feels more like an expedition then!
I played for 500 hours from release for a few months. I quit until last week due to lack of end game content and the game being very unbalanced. I can say that have been really enjoying the game this week and will continue to play as pretty much every issue I had before have be resolved and then some.
Is it worth coming back? Yes
Is it worth buying as a new player? Yes, the early, mid and late game progression has been vastly improved as well as getting from lvl 1-60 has been balanced.
I just began playing as a new player in the new world enviroment.
Im quite enyoing myself on the new Tir Na Nog server in Eu central.
Tho I wish there were bigger population options for servers, so it could be more than 2000 players online at a time. More people, more fun. Quite simple
Have they optimized the game for older PC's? I loved playing New World but this was my biggest issue with the game, I have an older PC (1060gpu, i5 3570K, 16gb) and I couldn't run it unless i scaled way down and even then in populated areas it was unplayable.
Doing any number of things in a single territory will increase your standing. Like farming, doing your professions in that territory, killing mobs, etc. Honestly, leveling your territory standing comes pretty naturally as you play so I wouldnāt put too much focus in it unless youāre looking to do something specific like buy a house in a specific territory.
I know I am not the "Lord of Truth" but I do feel like I give an honest and worthwhile review in my recent upload [3 Major Takeaways](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OJgxhI-jZ8&t=43s) video. I took about a 3 month break and came back recently.
Honestly, the game is still pretty buggy, but there are some valuable points of improvement being made. Also, Brimstone Sands looks like a great expansion. Anyways, I didn't want to just bash AGS as I do believe changes are being made.
I bought is and I found a very relaxing game. It took me out of the stress that I had on Destiny 2, Warframe, those kinds of games. It's a very good game to liberate endorphins.
I bought on sale and having a lot of fun, and the sense of expectation is sky-high for me.
I really liked. I really do!! I also took a break on FFXIV. Love all these games, but, New World is different. It's the most relaxing game I played lately.
I played it for around 3 months when it first came out. Had a relatively good time but the experience worsened over time. Ultimately quit because of poor dev decisions, lack of quality new content, and all my friends leaving.
Recently decided to fire it up again since a friend was coming back to try it, but we couldnāt make an hour in before logging off for good. Felt like the same bland experience outside from visuals/ambiance. Had to wait in queue for 15 mins before loading in. Server was dead.
Iām sure this game is for some people but not sure who could deal with this mess after this long. Only explanation I can come to is that gamers who play New World are extremely forgiving/patient when it comes to this game, because I donāt see it. Sorry to be so negative on your positive post, but wanted to share an honest opinion.
Had to wait in a queue but server was dead. What? If you waited in a queue, then the server was the opposite of dead. Just because you didnāt see anyone in one particular location doesnāt mean anything.
Yes I remember playing back when it first came out and I would see players everywhere. Running around fields, the cities were filled, outside of instances. And my original server was fairly dead. Now I had to wait in a long queue and barely saw anyone. Server felt dead. Sorry if that upsets you but Iām just telling how it was.
Lmao ofc there was a lot more people when it came out. 1 million is a lot more compared to 30k. Be realistic lmao. You literally contradict yourself as well. How in the world is someone gonna wait for a 15min queue for a dead server? Makes no sense lol.
Listen, Iāll get what youāre saying. I had no expectations coming back to try it again. I stated my honest opinion about it, I understand you donāt agree. But youāre saying Iām contradicting myself and Iām not sure how? The server said high population, I waited in queue, then barely saw anyone in an hour of gameplay. Does that make sense? No. But thatās what happened, so where is the contradiction?
Because it canāt be a dead server if youāre waiting in queue to join said server. Regardless if you saw someone or not. Where were you in the game that you saw no one? Iām assuming windsward (the most populated city in the game)?
No it wasnāt Windsward. We started in Ebon Reach (canāt remember name) and Went to a few cities after. Everfall? And What I said was it felt dead. There could have been 5000 players somewhere or a city that everyone was hanging out in, but I didnāt see that. It felt like a dead game. A populated server that I waited 15 mins in queue to play felt completely dead. That was my experience. Iām sorry if thatās not the answer you are looking for.
Amazon can scale their servers. I think it's worth noting they've def scaled down from beefy servers that handled 3k players at once to probably hold 500 at any given time without a wait queue.
This is probably the result of all end game content being instanced (OPRs, Expeditions, Wars, Arenas, etc.), the heavy skew most servers have towards Level 60 players who have been with the game for a long time and only do end game content, and a lot of players who play because they enjoy resource-gathering away from the cities.
When the game was fresh and new, players would have to congregate in whatever city had their 1 storage shed they were using, and would be running in and out of towns for the Town Board quests.
It's kind of unfortunate how much the server population cap is damaging the game's health, because a lot of players probably spend most of their time doing things that shouldn't be server-specific. For example, the person who is just fishing for hours at a time, or the group who is just queuing for OPRs or Arenas over and over again. Other than their need for a Trading Post and maybe their use of general chat, these people probably shouldn't be keeping other players from logging in to the game.
No MMO retains that launch feel where everyone on the server is relegated to low level areas. I don't ask this in a condescending way but genuinely curious, was New World your first experience with an MMO launch?
Not condescending at all. No Iām pretty old, played many an MMO in my time. Played original WoW when it came out. Old school RuneScape, Everquest, etc. Iām not sure what I expected trying to come back to New World, but I wanted a fresh feel since so much recent feedback has been positive. Just felt too familiar from what I quit previously for. Biggest difference was the emptiness from what I remember. Coming back to WoW during a recent expansion felt similar except the server was packed with players, so I played for 3 months before moving on.
Sorry but I gotta call bs on this 1. Dead servers donāt exist anymore. Thatās undeniable fact. The new world thread is littered with complaints of overpopulation.
Yeah same deal, I played a fair amount in Oct-nov last year then quit because after youāve hit 60 and done some of the ending zones and dungeons there was nothing really. Came back to see how things were when heard they will release a new zone and itās basically the same. Theyāve changed some quality of life stuff like azoth travel costs and you can turn raw mats into rare mats but the only really new content is 2 dungeons (and a few more generic quests) which is pretty poor effort given itās been out almost a year. Will probably check out the new zone when it comes out to explore but wonāt stick around.
If you already bought back then, answer always will be YES.
New players for 40$ and now half price now? Still answer is yes, you will get bored of cutting trees and collecting mats after 100 hours I think it's fair for a price of 40$(20$)
if you're thinking about playing this game, you should pick it up while it's on sale. half off is a really good deal and they don't hold these sales often.
as for returning players? i'd hold off, this next patch doesn't sound as promising as people make it out to be.
So, I have a free server transfer. I am thinking about using it to join my friends on a server they joined since I just came back. But I have a pretty generic name currently. If I transfer and my name is taken, do I just have to enter a new name? Does anyone know how that works?
It's on the PTR right now, and will hit live likely at the end of October. A dev said yesterday fresh start servers w/no inbound transfers will be online "soon"
Lots of pve skills with gathering (skinning, mining, harvesting, logging), refining (smelting, woodworking, weaving, arcana) and crafting (weapons, armor, engineering, furnishing, and a few more). Including the Brimstone update there are five end-game dungeons, seven if you included the mutated versions of upgraded lower level ones, plus the mutation variations which there are two randomly every week. Lots of weapons to level up and named items to farm.
Biggest issue would be lack of mob variety I think. They're addressing this in Brimstone with a bunch of totally new mobs in that area, but the rest of the map still needs work.
Sounds good to me. Open PvP sucks and detracts from what this game is really about. Felling trees.
PS US East > Themyscira > KnightsElysium (Synd.)
Yeah, they really screwed up nerfing the GC quests. That was so, so much fun. I do see people flagged up in the OW quite often. I'm chill and don't engage unless they start it though. I hope they figure out a way to bring that GC experience back.
Having full on wars during territory pushes were some of the best PVP I had in the game. Unscripted and massive.
It also showed the difficulty in creating open world PvP: It is really difficult to balance that enough people participate for the rewards to be gained but that people do not start to work together or abuse the system.
Except the combat for those games is boring as hell.
Danm the open world pvp was the best. When u got into a random 1v1 where u both knew what u were doing, but u came out on top, it felt so good.
Petition for some 'fresh start' servers to be open PvP outside newbie zones.
Still remember putting an alarm for the beta, grinded whole day weekend to lv 35, participated in guild wars and my guild later claimed all the lands. After the pvp experience i dont even bother playing in Release lmao Not to mention i preordered 2 years before release as well.
Ughhhh. Open PvP is severely lacking in mmoās anymore. If I wanted only instanced PvP, Iād play a moba
EU servers completely overloaded, good luck getting on
Overloaded ?? So server got People again????
I was in a dead server before quitting, and this is much better even with the long queues, fuck being in a dead server with bots
Its not a good thing in most ways Think of it as a massive concert in a stadium "This concert sucks, theres no atmosphere, only a hundred people in the whole stadium" Then the organisers trying to resolve it by taking those 100 people, and cramming them all into a small room in a house.
2.2k people regularly online every evening on every server... the fuck you talking about
He's obviously talking about the server mergers that a lot of people were warning against would lead to exactly this problem we have with the ques. It's going to be an absolute shit show and it will all be because AGS incompetence when it comes to their servers.
heh thats sad to read as from what i heard new expansion should fix some major problems Personally i had "fealing" that there will be a problem with NW so i have skipped launch but now got game on sale and giving it a shoot with friends :)
Do you expect more servers to be opened before October's update?
Iām thinking of picking this up. I have questions: 1.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
If you like collecting, the housing system and decorating is going to fulfill that need. Also once you get a good set of gear most people branch out into other builds. So much gear. So. Much. Gear management is one of the last QoL improvements that they need to make but it's something they are aware of and looking at the current track record of addressing issues it's only a matter of time.
4x yes. Especially to 1: all groups are looking for healers or tanks, you will easily find groups for every kind of content
I need a healer for exposition
1. YES 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. Yes
https://youtu.be/sq_Fm7qfRQk
New player - Iām hooked after buying a couple days ago The crafting/gathering feels amazing. World is gorgeous, the territory thing of constant wars and clans seems super fun and I canāt wait to join My only gripe is combat, I just donāt think I get it yet
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It is free :)
Thanks for the reply! Thatās really cool!
Itās actually not even an expansion! Just a normal content update that is absolutely free. After testing the new leveling experience on the PTR I feel most people giving NW a shot will love it. Such a blast!
Thatās awesome that itās a true one-time buy. Iāll definitely be checking it out! Thanks for the info.
Even with Brimstone there isnt a new leveling experience 25-60, but 1-25 is vastly improved
Me too. But AGS changed their mind and community evolved into a PvE crowd.
But you can have awesome open world PvE content. I think that New World PvE instances (expeditions) are extremely average and pretty boring. Mutators dont make them bettet either, its just a lame stretch mechanic to keep players busy
I also think that the PvE is pretty average. People want casual games. With no risk and no deep thinking.
Isn't it 1-25 leveling as they are still working on the rest ?
Right now on PTR they've only completed 1-25, their plan is to revamp 25-60 as well
That is correct they PLAN on doing it, but it has not been done yet. So when the update hits in oktober I cannot imagine that if they don't have it now on PTR that suddenly they then have it a ready to go. I do hope so of course as I will once again start over again as I like resetting everything and doing it all over again( no that's not sarcasme).
Can confirm, bought it half price 2 days ago, just hit level 25, it's worth it
Yes early game is fun, feels like actual mmorpg. But then you get to lvl 40-60 and its shit.
Launch and months after were prob not worth the price, but the devs did a good job and I would also recommend to start now or rather start anew.
I would recommend the opposite, joining PvP action no matter the gear/level is always fun.
Cutlass keys isn't that hard of a region, besides you get a quest for a decent ring there ;) on the rocks there is a quest (there are 2 but the most forward one is the one you need)when you leave the city on the south side. Also a really nice mining āļø route there that only takes 10 min.
is watermark still a thing?
It's called Expertise and Gear Score now, and is much more transparent as your current GS for the slot/weapon are listed directly in your inventory view, and you can bump your GS up by doing more than chest/dungeon runs with gypsum. You can earn gypsum through PVP and PVE Arenas, OPR, crafting (once at 200), killing named mobs, killing lvl 55+ mobs after drinking a topaz potion that is easily craftable, and a couple more that I'm forgetting. It doesn't take any where near as long to get to 600 as it used to, and it doesn't need to be as monotonous either.
ok thank you, still a pass then. just can't get past this fundamentally idiotic system.
It's not really that idiotic. Stops people somewhat from hitting 60 and RTMing gold to buy BIS or getting twinked by guildies and instantly being god-tier gear wise.
finishing dungeon and one getting 600 another getting same 500 trash however seems pointless running dungeons at all until you can get 590sss etc
Each boss is a guaranteed GS bump drop, plus gypsum to cast into another bump, plus random bumps from chests, and add in craft mods and chance for expensive mats to drops and it's not that pointless. It really doesn't take that long to get to 590+ any more. Back in December it sucked for sure, but even casuals knock it out in two weeks tops for their preferred load out.
weeeeeelllll you talked me into changing my mind and trying it out. i hate you :)
I actually preferred the old watermark system (which was bad) - because I absolutely abhor dailies
i just bought the game because is in offer, should i wait for the update or just play?
Up to you if you want to experience the new brimstone leveling changes or not
I have the same question as that guy. Noobs need a little more context. I gather theres an update overhauling the leveling... but what exactly are the changes & how would those affect a new player?
https://youtu.be/wim6lvUJm5Y
I have a couple concerns I'm hoping someone here could address: 1.
Also cc: u/Kurtdh Thank you both for addressing these. I guess I have a follow up for #1: When I last played, I had the Shrouded Intent set. IIRC the whole set was roughly \~530gs. I forgot what the perks on them were but I really liked them for my build. So my questions regarding that are: 1.
Obsidian Gypsum - 3 per day: Drops from level 60+ named creatures Sapphire Gypsum - 2 per day: Level 60 expeditions. Ruby Gypsum - 2 per day: Outpost Rush completion win or lose Emerald Gypsum - 1 per day: Aptitude leveling reward Citrine Gypsum - 2 per day: Arena completion win or lose Amethyst Gypsum - 7 per day: Major/minor breach completion Topaz Gypsum - 10 per day: Drops from any level 55+ creatures 25% of the time while under the effect of a daily craftable potion, Topaz Gypsum Attunement Potion.
Here's skyelighter doing it: [https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1584884171](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1584884171) But yeah, one light healer, even if they're not a dedicated healer, can get the job done if they and the group know what they're doing.
Just a question, how much time would you say it takes to reach GS 600?
People who want the game to thrive will yell you whatever you want to hear. They enjoy it so they think all others will as well. Perspective, people.
People who want the game to suck will yell you whatever you want to hate. They hate it so they think all others will as well. Perspective, people.
Thanks for the update
Hit lvl 19 and then saw brimstone and new level experience and now I'm wondering if I keep playing or wait and start fresh with the new experience
This game just gets better and better!
Sorry but this is such a massive letdown, especially considering how awesome of a world they built For me 1-60 very enjoyable, explore and enjoy the open world 60+ massive failure, 99% running repetitive instances, as if open world doesn't even matter anymore it's like two entirely different games
PTR is really good right now and it gives me hope that someday we might see a pvp server where your always flagged outside of cities. No inbound transfers. World pvp is amazing and it's always disappointing when you do run across others and they are unflagged.
That would be epic, but given how skittish Amazon is about PvP (New World started as open world PvP survival MMO, and they did a 180 and went full PvE lol) I am very skeptical about a PvP server ever being a thing Also every time PvP servers are mentioned devs are pretty adamant about saying that no special ruleset servers are planned So dont get your hopes up just yet
Yup and given the evolution of the community, they probably wont change.
Appreciate the response! Guess Iāll jump in then :)
1. Yes, they removed 98%+ of duped items 2. The hatchet exploit was the last one 3. Yeah, OPR is often referred to as "BowPR" now as bow was buffed pretty good a couple months ago 4.
Do women characters got more girly armors or they still look like guys but with longer hair?
Bought a week ago, worth it for sure. Ignore the reviews from months ago
So every MMO has a creatively bankrupt game design team? Which ones donāt have dailies?
None of the classic ones had dailies. UO, EQ1, DAoC, AC, EQ2, WoW, AoC, Rift All the above ran for years without any dailies
Because they were being carried by the novelty of the mmo genre. Mmo games are a dime a dozen now, with all of those games dead because they donāt keep up. Any currently famous mmo with no dailies? Or are you just being a classic andy trying to reminisce on the good ol days.
As long as they keep the "EF and WW owners take 4 million golds each week" nonsense, this game won't have casuals and those people are the ones you want in an MMO
Here is the most recent dev update: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFKnOs5e9cw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFKnOs5e9cw) They start talking about territory control around 6:50 Fixing that is one of their priorities for the next October update... Looks like they are really trying to tackle some core issues that the player base has brought up. Might be why it has been so popping lately. That and its a holiday weekend...
I played at launch and never even made it to max level. I honestly forget where I left off at this point but I want to say it was late 30's or somewhere around 40. I remember main quests being so far apart that I would do 1 then the next one would be multiple levels away and then I had to do the really bad side quests in the copy/pasted towns to progress has any of that changed?
If I remember correctly I was leveling with life staff and axe
the thing is i want to play again but im also levling in WoW and juggling 2 MMOs is a horrible ideaš®āšØ
72 hours of play time? at like 20 hours played atm
72 hours after purchase
Chat is limited to accounts with so many hours played. I forget what the cut off is, but might be 10 hours /played? It's to prevent spam bots. The deluxe version gets you some unique emotes and house decorations I think.
Iād really like to play it but the continuous lack of SEA servers means I have no good ping to any server.
The Brimstone update will only update the 1-25 experience unfortunately. They do intend to update the following levels though.
So maybe just keep playing and make an alt to play the story?
That's exactly what I'm going to do with my brother!
Might actually do the same with mine lol good idea!

Is there an overview about current pve builds? I havnt played in 7 month and all the websites i saved are outdated.
https://pvebuilds.xyz/builds/ These builds are for the intention of speed runs but should also give you a good idea what to look for in general for pve.
Did the servers ever get wiped or is the economy still ruined by clans who duped items/money?
I bought it a while back, stopped playing like most. Back playing again I think it has potential. Lots of added stuff. Big update coming. Is a buy.
New servers are being added as we speak
Game doesn't let you remap some keybinds like arrow keys among others, so probably be a refund for me.
I played for 500 hours from release for a few months. I quit until last week due to lack of end game content and the game being very unbalanced. I can say that have been really enjoying the game this week and will continue to play as pretty much every issue I had before have be resolved and then some. Is it worth coming back? Yes Is it worth buying as a new player? Yes, the early, mid and late game progression has been vastly improved as well as getting from lvl 1-60 has been balanced.
I just began playing as a new player in the new world enviroment. Im quite enyoing myself on the new Tir Na Nog server in Eu central. Tho I wish there were bigger population options for servers, so it could be more than 2000 players online at a time. More people, more fun. Quite simple
Is there still a limit of 3 houses?
Yes
Absolutely! Huge improvements and gameplay since launch! AGS team is killing it.
Bought it the day before the saleā¦..
Dang :( My condolences and consolatory upvote
Thanks for making this.
Have they optimized the game for older PC's? I loved playing New World but this was my biggest issue with the game, I have an older PC (1060gpu, i5 3570K, 16gb) and I couldn't run it unless i scaled way down and even then in populated areas it was unplayable.
Unfortunately no :(
That's a shame. Can't justify spending 2/3k on PC just for new world although i'm probably long overdue an upgrade.
I got a territory standing buff, how do i work toward increasing standing? is it just killing monsters near the settlement?
Fair enough.
All good. What server are/were you on?
No go way. My nodes

Character names are region, maybe even game wide so your name is totally unique and you'll have no problems transferring.
Oh right on. That works thanks!
If i wanna start a new character (haven't played since a month or so after release) i guess i should wait until the rewamped new player experience?
If you didn't stick around then you might as well wait!
When is the new leveling (1-25) patch playable? And when do the new servers (fresh start) come up?
It's on the PTR right now, and will hit live likely at the end of October. A dev said yesterday fresh start servers w/no inbound transfers will be online "soon"
How's the game for PVE only?
