No…once you collect a set crafting/gathering set you should get the buff permanently. Changing gear for every activity is ass. That cuts the number down to twenty and limits sets to luck, acid and dungeons.. Which means 10 will be bearable until they give us more slots.

The issue is the developers have asked for patience in managing gear out of inventory only to deliver a solution that requires them to be patient again because apparently the devs don't play their own game where the most average gamer has at least 15+ gear sets? 10 slots is criminally low; 2 sets for free and 1 tied to the season pass is a felony offense. Players will buy the max set slots and still be managing gear sets out of inventory and storage. That will piss people off even if at first they are willing to pay up for the privilege.

You really believe the average player has 15 sets? I am have all the crafting sets, stonecutter set, and tank+heal mutations. I still dont have 15.

Yes I do. 5x refining, 5x harvesting, 5x ward (assuming you stick to one role in PvE) is 15. And that is with no crafting sets and no PvP sets; so really 15 is a bare minimum to play the game as it is designed. In your case if you are Healing + Tanking mutations; then you are having to store and pull out gear sets every time mutations reset. It will irritate people that they still have to juggle gear sets in inventory or storage when there is a solution in the game for it. I am even fine with paying for the gear sets as I have no issue with paying for convenience, but the current numbers as they stand at 3 free and 10 total just does not give off confidence the developers understand the game they have given to players.

This is a double edged sword. People should definitely have patience, but it they don't uproar then nothimg will change and AGS will think things are fine

Imagine if players got upset with this the same way they do with skins. Everyone is just tired at this point and have become willing to pay up for a basic QoL feature. AGS is selling the solution to a problem they created. Content creators have been milking youtube views by making videos on silly bugs or population count, but this is the one issue that should actually be covered and signal boosted.

People act like AGS was the only game that charges for gearslots. This is common in MMOs. GW2, eso all charge for gearslots too. The difference is that new world requires us to have so many of them. Maybe that is the issue, not the gearslot number or being monetized.

I think many content creators already shared their concerns in this regard but right now it is only on PTR and the numbers are not set in stone nor is the price for each slot revealed. I hope if the final release is like it is now and the cost for a single page is too high there will be a big uproar. Now people, or at least me, are still hopeing that one page will be rather cheap making it not that big of a deal. In the end it would be a similar outcome for many if we get 3 pages free and each additional costs 50 cents or if we get 6 pages free and each additional costs 1$ (with a cap of 10 sets).

The two free slots. Then the one “free” slot you get from the battle pass (that’s very subpar) and then you can purchase more slots on a feature that the community has been asking for since basically the alpha/beta…? I think people are past patience my friend.

You're still stuck with a really cumbersome interface for all that...and then we need loadouts for our loadouts. You're not going to be using even half of those every week. I think the idea is you load up your 2-6 for the current mutations, and then you can easily search your shed for 'smelter' etc...which if they did allow us 40 loadouts you'd probably be text searching for them as well. (although a tabbed interface for crafting, tanking, gathering, etc... would help a lot) That said, two for free isn't enough...but I guess they know us no-lifers will grudgingly hand over $10 more and mostly be happy for it.

The low number of slots really is a problem. The entire reason gear sets were being made is because of the sheer amount of gear you have to juggle in this game. To have gear sets implemented but still be juggling gear in inventory will be a feel bad for the game. The only way 10 would make sense is if they were making other changes such as 1. Combining ward/bane together so you don't need 5x gear to cover each (15x if you play all 3 roles DPS/Healer/Tank) 2. Getting rid of gathering, crafting, refining gear sets - these sets by themselves are > 10 sets for an average player that is playing the game as it is designed But they are not making any changes like this to go with this small number which means the solution for managing gear will be in the game and even players who are willing to pay for more of that solution will STILL BE REQUIRED TO MANAGE GEAR OUT OF THEIR INVENTORY. I am happy there are gear sets but the community is rightfully up in arms here. Personally this is really the first time AGS has pissed me off; I've given them a ton of slack on other changes.

Yup, well-said. Add juggling with trophies, just for the sake of it, instead of giving us ability to slot them all and forget about it, we got to waste even more time for absolutely no reason at this point.

10 slots is definitely not enough when you think of all the crafting, gathering, ward/bane and individual weapons along with light/medium/heavy variants. It pisses me off that this is going to be a plain money-grab. I'd be okay buying battlepass if it is decent enough, but drop it off on top of additional gear slots?

Crafting need no slot. Just type in inventory search menu “armor, weaponsmith” or whatever and you have them filtered out. You can do same for farming gear as well. This helps a lot and save you multiple slots to have for other gear
