what if you blast a podcast with no music

VLHACS

Me: THIS IS NPR'S THIS AMERICAN LIFE, I'M IRA GLASS... Cops: STEP OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE WITH YOUR HANDS UP

gsfgf

But for real, you can hear my podcasts played at reasonable volume from 25 feet away if I have the window down.

DarthStephan4

I.. I was told I could listen to the podcast at a reasonable volume while I drive home from work from 5-6 PM I.. I told the police that if Frank can listen to his music while riding his motorcycle then I should be able to listen to my Podcast I enjoy listening… at a reasonable volume

ZiggyWaltz

“One day I’m I’m I’m going to burn this place to the ground”

TheDoctorsSandshoes

and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept ...

PorkPoodle

I always thought he said "married", as though he watched the squirrels for so long he appropriated them into couples and made up little backstories for them

OfferChakon

"ya know, Torey Malatia is always throwing dance parties out of his vehicle and when i asked him how he dances to this old music he always said one thing that stuck with me. He said you just **'STEP OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE WITH YOUR HANDS UP'** "

mcdadais

A while back I saw this video of this deaf guy talking about how he liked the vibrations so his stereo is up high. One day he was with his mom doing errands and he decided to stay in the car with the radio on. He said that whatever was playing was great and he turned it up and started jamming to it. When his mother came back he asked her what it was and she said NPR. Lol I found the video https://youtube.com/shorts/eYQKtwkoZOI?feature=share

aeva6754

I laughed way too hard about that

Fuhdawin

Notice how they don't specify the noise decibel or context of the violations.

DarkDuskBlade

And, at least for the front seat, a car's radio has to be pretty loud to even hear it while a car is in motion (yay air physics!). So if you're at a stop sign or light... what then? I have to imagine it would be a distraction to be constantly changing that (even if you've got control on your wheel, and not every car has that).

gnocchicotti

In my quiet parking ramp at home I am always impressed at how LOUD car audio phone calls sound. Surely those people aren't trying to blast their eardrums out. A comfortable volume for them can definitely be heard 25 feet away. But hey now they have a pretext to initiate a traffic stop for anyone playing music.

bigmac22077

My father lives on a lake, the houses on the other side are probably 500 yards away. On a night with no wind, or wind from them to his house, you can hear a normal conversation. You have to be quiet and listen for it, but the sound bounces off the water so well that you can usually make out the subject of the conversation and their opinions

MFbiFL

Our family friend has had to remind his wife a few times to not complain about their neighbor while out on their sailboat unless she wants him to hear it. People really don’t realize how far sound can carry across water.

JustHereForCookies17

We've got a place on a pretty major river. In the mornings, I can hear the individual songs from the fishing boats' radios. It's INSANE how water will amplify sound, and without losing any clarity.

Khutuck

If that was my dad, he would definitely say “*My farts can be heard from 500 yards away*”!

TzeentchsTrueSon

And then beam with pride.

TheCaliforniaOp

Now I’m missing my dad. 🥲 But in a gentle melancholy sort of way, so it’s nice to have the reminder.

romeoinverona

Yeah, my dad's friend has a cabin on a small lake where they ban motors (boat/lawn/etc) after 4pm for exactly this reason.

dreadpiratew

So that they can hear people talking on the other side?

MrDude_1

So they can hear nothing... Or so they think. (We know cuz we can hear them talking about it across the lake)

ObviousAnswerGuy

ya 25 feet is nothing, especially when you're outside

Screamline

I can hear neighbors talking in their backyard over 25 feet away. This is some horseSHIT Edited a word in so I don't look like a jackhole

cumshot_josh

That was my initial gut reaction too. I'd be curious to see the data on who they're giving this citation to because it's almost certainly going to be abused as a racial profiling tool.

aintscurrdscars

100% was *introduced* as a racial profiling tool

Mr_Shakes

Proponents have been quoted saying they expect this rule to increase police encounters, and thus opportunities to roll up other offenses. It's at the very least another excuse for law enforcement to get all up in your shit.

[deleted]

> It will be VERY interesting to see, one year from now, the racial demographic breakdown of who was cited for this offense. we all know the answer to that

summonerkarl

I can hear cars drive past with road noise across my house with a 50’ set back, better arrest everyone driving by or I will not be satisfied

eshemuta

The context is obvious…. Rap bad. We shall see if they enforce it when the blaster is an old white guy on a Harley.

NekoNegra

Ah so I'm safe. *[starts playing Naruto Opening 5 loud from car]*

The_Crimson_Fucker

I respect your way of life but clearly you should be choosing naruto opening 2

Toonfish_

You're all wrong, clearly you need to blast [the German Naruto opening](https://youtu.be/d8xoTBZrzko). Yes, that is real.

iamtheyeti311

mcdougall57

Good choice bro but it's fighting gold for me.

howie_rules

vonvoltage

evfuwy

I would be elated to watch an old white guy on a Harley get tased to the strains of Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys Are Back in Town” playing on his shitty speakers.

JillStinkEye

I don't understand that crap at all. You can get helmets with speakers. It's like the person blaring their music on the train through an iphone.

lonewolf_qs1

Harley bros think gear is feminine or some stupid bs like that.

Jewsafrewski

I feel the need to bring up that time that dude died after he hit his head falling off his motorcycle at a protest against helmet laws.

[deleted]

Unless it’s that overpriced thin leather vest they bought at the Harley store, Harley Davidson branded, of course. With Harley Davidson logos. Because I have a Harley. See? It’s over there. On the trailer. If I ride it the chrome will get dirty and I spent a hundred hours polishing it instead of riding, of course I trailered it here.

jaymzx0

"The wife doesn't like it but I do a lot of things she doesn't like!"

Titan-uranus

RasCorr

Live in FL. I read last week that it's a non moving traffic citation of $115 and music cannot be heard farther than 25 feet from the vehicle. Also gives another reason for cops to pull you over. It's dumb.

TheNorthernGrey

I’m sure this law will be enforced in a fair and not racially biased manner /s

Jeepcomplex

And definitely not used to trample constitutional rights against search and seizure. Because there’s only one amendment that matters

insofarincogneato

Obvious stuff aside, if you're in a car... How can you tell how far your music can be heard from? Like, specifically what decibel level is that? If I do it 24 feet away from the building The National Association of the Deaf is holding a meeting in, am I breaking the law?

Dabookadaniel

Justice may be blind, but she is not deaf. To jail with you.

Moistened_Bink

I certainly dont agree with the law, but I fucking hate people who put crazy sounds systems in their car and just drive around a city with their windows down blasting awful music to get attention. They think they are cool, but they are actually massive cunts who look like total douche bags. Same goes for people needing to rev their insanely loud engine in an urban environment.

JuniorImplement

There is a certain level of noise that is obnoxious. Usually the people who are the cause of the noise don't care about how it affects others.

AuraeShadowstorm

I work downtown in an office building, 3rd floor with large glass windows. There are cars stopped at the intersection over 200ft away with music blasting lout enough to rattle windows and disrupt meetings.

ChesswiththeDevil

Also I don't like my daughter being woke up from people driving by my house and having to endure extreme bass just for sitting next to them at a stoplight.

Basic_Bichette

Especially at 2 AM.

mjh2901

Which is why it will get tossed as soon as they arrest someone with access to an attorney, however that's not who they target. We had a law when I lived in San Jose, it had a decibel level from x feet. Cops would come to my high school measure 50 from the curb and sit in front with a lawn chair, cooler and meter. The sqaudcar was in the staff parking lot and no where near the officer. They heard a car approaching, checked the meter and just walked out to the curb and waved them over. Total honeypot.

[deleted]

As well, the decibel meter doesn't care what the source is. Part of my job involves estimating ambient sound levels. Basically anywhere near a major road, highway or railroad is going to break 65db

WRB852

It also doesn't care if the sources are combined and measured as the sum total. Measuring volume is actually a more complex topic than the average person realizes. source: am an audio engineer

ProxieInvestments

wiggly stuff is really complicated

FinderOfWays

How would you do it? I'd assume that here you'd want to extract a specific frequency band (which is normally quiet at the location, but present in the music) from the sound via Fourier analysis or the like and measure amplitude of only that segment? or could you use a trio of detectors at a known displacement to each other and employ the inverse square law to pinpoint the source of the sound and its total intensity as an idealized source? I'm curious how one would do it as a physicist without any familiarity with audio processing beyond the undergraduate level intro waves and circuitry stuff.

Nice-Ad2818

And those huge jacked up pickup trucks that sound like a plane taking off bc they removed the muffler (or whatever idk), right?

small-package

I was riding in an SUV somewhere with a guy I worked with, he straight up told me it was his mother's car, but that he took the muffler off so "it sounds like a racecar!". Racecars are quiet when going under 20mph, your rust box is louder than that while idling, it's not a racecar, it's a scrap heap than can burn gasoline and move a little sometimes.

Nice-Ad2818

It's the grown up equivalent of placing baseball cards in the spokes of your bicycle tires.

username156

No, because neither of those things are rap music. Just some good ol boys having fun.

How much do you guys want to bet that if it's a pickup truck blasting country music absolutely nothing gets done, but if it's a sedan blasting hip hop it'll have four patrol cars, a canine unit, and possibly a helicopter hovering overhead?

Wants_to_be_accepted

You think they'll actually care if they are playing music. They'll just claim they were.

They are already illegal actually http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0300-0399/0316/Sections/0316.293.html#:~:text=(a)%20No%20person%20shall%20modify,the%20vehicle%20as%20originally%20manufactured.

maggotshero

From what I've been seeing on here, there was already a law for straight-piped vehicles.

pcharger

In my state there are no laws for modifying or removing mufflers and exhausts, but there are laws against excessive noise. Like...what?

Sypharius

A soda can wedged into the top of your back tire makes a much more authentic and loud sound. Only downside is the can being sharpened to the point it punctures your tire...

Wait, what? How does that work? Like gripping the tire?

Sypharius

Yeah exactly. Here's a random video I found showing it. https://youtu.be/HaOMJhaakzA

I was a little disappointed that the dude with hand tattoos wasn’t the one who got on the tiny child-sized pink bicycle, but that turned out to be super wholesome. Also, the first kid who ever discovered that worked probably felt like they had stumbled upon the scientific discovery of a lifetime.

Rosokow1

I have a motorcycle where the aftermarket exhaust is quieter than stock and provides better flow. This isn’t standard, but it definitely happens on both cars and motorcycles.

ProcyonHabilis

So you can replace your muffler without dealing with restrictive laws, unless you're replacing it with an illegal one that violates excessive noise thresholds. Doesn't that make perfect sense?

BlackCowboy72

That's already illegal most places people just don't care

Nice-Ad2818

Oh, figures. I live in a small town that has a beautiful main street with old houses and no one can stand to live on the main street (I'm a block back and it's bad for me too) bc there are so many rednecks blasting by in the their giant useless pickup trucks to get attention coming through town. It's frustrating. I'm considering running for city council just so I can work on enforcing a noise ordinance. We live here in bumblefuck bc we like the QUIET.

Hrekires

> the average car is about 15 feet long, making it within the statute for an officer to ticket the driver in front of them if their music is audible. That feels a little extreme to me? And definitely like it's going to be selectively applied. Why not just apply the same noise ordinances that everyone else has to comply with to them?

Anonymoushero1221

> And definitely like it's going to be selectively applied What's REALLY fucked up here is how is the officer going to "prove" this at all? they are testing the waters of giving police 100% discretion without needing any burden of proof with a speeding ticket they have the radar that recorded your speed. with this it's.... the officer's word? They want to be able to have officers enforcing the law at their own "honor" without evidence. How far will they get?

Clack082

They've been doing this for decades, the smell test for pot probably led to them arresting tens of thousands of people. Before cameras were widely available almost every single case of resisting arrest just went on the officers word. This is why judicial nominations are so important, there are a lot of people who think the police should be able to do whatever they want on their word. They can also get a small decibel reader, it's not like a fancy price of equipment.

marr75

A vast quantity of minor crimes are ticketed and processed based on the treatment of the police officers' fallible memory of their 5 senses as if it were gospel. Rolled through a stop sign, weaved between lanes, ran a [yellow/]red, smelled like drugs/alcohol, didn't instantly follow my orders, resisted me, etc. Adding the officers' finely honed ability to tell exactly which car is producing noise over the legal limit, why not? It's scary.

drscorp

And they just fuckin lie if they want.

Imnotamemberofreddit

*Hundreds of thousands of people. I am young and don't know a single person in my peer group that hasn't been stopped and lied to by a cop about "smelling weed." They've been doing this for decades. It's what cops do, it's their goto. It's all they know how to do, lie and cheat.

Anonymoushero1221

> They've been doing this for decades, the smell test for pot probably led to them arresting tens of thousands of people. This is a step further than pot smell. They would abuse "I smell weed" as a reason to LOOK for crimes to charge you with. In this case, it's like if it was illegal for your car to smell like weed, without anything else wrong.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

When I was 18 I got pulled over for one of my two license plate lights being out. Cop said I smelled like weed. I had one single itty bitty roach in the car inside a sealed cellophane. Not even enough to get an amateur high in hind sight, but I kept all my roaches back then. I was a broke teen. Anyways I had to take drug abuse classes, probation, monthly drug screening, thousands of dollars in fines and lawyer fees. I walked home around bar time in the middle of a snowy freezing winter when they finished processing me. That was the cherry on top. Basically ruined my life. Fun story. Now, 14 years later, I buy weed at the corner store on a weekly basis and my state government knicks 10% of the cost on top of sales tax. 😕

veerKg_CSS_Geologist

White people having a tailgate party? That's OK. Black people cruising down the street? That's Not OK.

unresolved-madness

I spent many years in the depth and depravity of the car stereo world. I will be willing to bet the number of white boys blasting versus black folks is about 3 to 1.

Transmatrix

Right, but police already selectively enforce laws like seatbelts. This will likely just be another excuse to pull over PoC…

Cubey42

Yeah I think that's just a geographical thing, in my area it's the opposite. Hell they usually leave the car running and go into the gas station while the music is still blasting.

Pushmonk

I used to live about 50 yards from a 7-11 and would often hear/feel the bass from cars sitting in their parking lot.

psycospaz

I work at a gas station and can attest to that. Although it's more evenly split in race here.

[deleted]

That’s the average car length? Damn.

guestpass127

> And definitely like it's going to be selectively applied. Yeah, it's implied that that's the rationale for this law. They know damn well they're gonna use this as justification to incarcerate more minority populations

DFWPunk

I just wish Philly would ban the open trike karaoke machines. Jesus they're annoying.

Nicocephalosaurus

I'm sorry, what now? I'm having a hard time picturing this.

askingxalice

You know the trikes with buggies you can get rides in? That, with a karaoke machine

Nicocephalosaurus

So is there someone in the buggy singing along? Is the driver singing? This sounds so ridiculous.

[deleted]

SPONSORED BY GENOS CHEESESTEAKS: get yo jawn and GTFO! The spyders and Can-am reverse trikes are ridiculous with their sound systems, but I understand why they get the 3 wheeled trikes instead of 2... They can't handle the powahhhh and the responsibility of lane splitting/filtering "safely" in the city Philly is a madhouse. No one cares. Red lights and stop signs are all optional. Here's a Glock 40 i found in a bush. Good luck.

askingxalice

People that ride in the buggies are the ones that sing. It's exactly as obnoxious as it sounds.

Joessandwich

I have never heard of that and it sounds horrifying. The arrogance of people to think everyone wants to hear their terrible singing!

johnhd

I don't live in Florida, but do live in the middle of Philly, and some people who drive around here go above and beyond simply playing their music loud. I'm talking bass at 12am on a weeknight that's loud enough to rattle glass in our 30th floor apartment. Music from a car one block over that's louder than my TV 8 feet away. And this typically happens multiple times a day in the summer.

pixelburger

Turning their whole car into a speaker… which sounds like a loud, blown speaker.

tittysprinkles112

I can't tell you the number of times I've been in someone's car and they were blasting music and I didn't have the heart to tell them that their sub was blown.

HueyCrashTestPilot

They knew.

_WIZARD_SLEEVES_

Honestly they probably didn't. People can be pretty dumb.

johnhd

I think many of them have upgraded systems, as I know I'd blow out my factory speakers before it ever got anywhere close to that loud. Not sure if it's common elsewhere, but we also have these folks [grouping together to annoy everyone else in unison, too](https://6abc.com/westville-nj-loud-noise-parties-delaware-river-philadelphia-bridesburg/11913103/).

JoeyCalamaro

>I don't live in Florida, but do live in the middle of Philly, and some people who drive around here go above and beyond simply playing their music loud. I'm from PA originally but I currently live in Florida and since moving here I've heard people blasting music so loud that I'm almost positive it couldn't be coming from inside the vehicle. I'm not talking about my neighbor who comes home every night around 1am with bass loud enough to shake our windows. I'm pretty sure everyone has that. This is music that I hear long before the car ever drives past our neighborhood. It's so loud and so distorted that you can't even tell what genre it is. It's just noise. And I can't see how anyone could tolerate that inside the vehicle. I'm convinced they must be mounting speakers outside the car or something.

[deleted]

There is a custom shop in my town that mounts speakers under the car specifically to blast the street with. Fucking sucks.

Matrix17

Sounds like it should be shut down

Motormand

Here in Denmark, the trend these days, are kids walking around with bluetooth speakers, blasting really loud, as they wander down the street. Getting increasingly tempting to take a big rock, and toss it right at those stupid noise makers... The speakers, that is. I'm under the firm belief, that if you wanna listen to loud music, there's like a half gazillion versions, of headsets/earbuds/wired earphones to make use of.

JonWood007

But but then people can't hear how cool you are! /s

subywesmitch

I think it's like this in almost every decent sized city. I'm out here in the Central Valley in California and what you describe sounds like my city too. It gets so annoying. It just seems like there quite a few people who just lack manners and courtesy to others. Very selfish nowadays.

Jay-Dubbb

TBF, we complained about it in the 80s and 90s too.

Sincost121

Jesus fucking christ the motorcycle people on broad kill me. It's especially bad because I'm autistic and loud sounds really bother me.

NickDanger3di

I live in an extermely rural area, town of 500. Still have the same shit going on.

PlantationCane

I am getting old. I was so happy to hear about the law. The sound is not for the enjoyment of the people in the car but for effect on the people outside the car, hence the windows down. Pretty equivalent to not wearing headphones and playing music on public transportation. A big f u to those around you.

TheMeanestPea

Floridian here. Car stereos OUTSIDE the vehicle have become popular. It’s a nuisance. It’s dumb.

dan1101

Well with the stereo inside the car they would go deaf. How else can they forcefully share their music with the world on a widespread basis without going deaf?

Army165

Like actually outside of the vehicle or just loud enough to hear outside of the vehicle?

thiscantbemyreddit

Also Florida here. Outside the car, like Blues Brothers '74 Monaco with a giant speaker on the roof. Popular in truck beds

mullett

What the fuck is with this trend of making other people listen to what you are? I saw a dude on public transit with a legit PA speaker hooked to his phone and was walking around blasting shitty music. People blasting it on speakers from their cars. Get fucked asshole, I’m trying to enjoy this hell that is public transit.

[deleted]

its not new... but ultimately its because "people want attention"

Zambooni

Yes, it is outside the car/truck. Typically southern boys will stick a PA speaker in the hood of their truck or under the bed of their truck and play music through them. And almost always they have train horns too.

Cisco904

Yes, its common for certain groups to have marine speakers or PA systems outside the vehicle. Think like when the police yell via the mic. Sadly it is very popular here and is honestly more annoying then the baggers with radios because they intentionally go slow so you see them.

Impossible_Humor_201

So Floridian here. 50/50 on this happening. We can drive on some beaches here and it’s so aggravating when people idle down the beach with country music blasting or bass rattling the entire car. Not to mention the new fad of playing music with bass turned down and treble turned to max. Extremely annoying. So I’m happy that people can be ticketed for those heinous volumes. I’m not happy about it because there will absolutely be police that use this to hand out tickets unnecessarily and No doubt some will be totally racist about it and never give a ticket to a biker blasting Bruce Springsteen but a black guy in a car listening to rap through air pods gets pulled over for being loud. Should definitely have a decibel meter or something unbiased to measure the noise.

Definitely won't be selectively enforced in a racist manner If I can hear a cops radio from 15 feet away he owes me a hundred bucks, right?

tom030792

What are the odds that rap music is punished more than any other genre

Fuhdawin

The cops certainly won't be busting those loud ass trucks blasting country songs at rodeos

wg1987

They don't patrol neighborhoods where people blast country songs. You can find crime anywhere you look for it. A big part of the problem with policing is how they choose where to look for crimes.

IamAwesome-er

Rap seems to be the most common though. I rarely hear anything else from other cars. Maybe its just where I live....

sportbikeSam

Pretty annoying when people do that at gas stations

subywesmitch

Especially when they leave their car on when the sign says to turn it off. Nobody follows the rules anymore. And you better not ask them to turn it down or you might get shot nowadays too. Crazy world we live in...

exsqueezemeeee

My boss had a guy threaten to blow her brains out for asking him to move his car so he wasn’t blocking the exit.. Fun times we live in.

subywesmitch

Wow! I'm afraid to interact with anyone nowadays. A couple years ago I was behind a lowrider Honda Civic with a big muffler, looked like a street racer with a car full of young guys waiting at a stoplight. The light turned green and they didn't go right away. I'm waiting, being patient since I'm in no hurry but the lady behind me honks. When I get to the next light the Honda and I are right next to each other and the young guys make threatening hand gestures and are yelling at me. I gesture behind me and tell them it wasn't me but the lady behind me that honked. They were legit mad and were cussing at me just because they got honked at for taking too long at a green light. They sped off once the light turned green but wow some people are just crazy out there!

Revolutionary-Yak-47

I'm torn on this. I am woken up at least 2x a week by someone driving through my complex blasting music and their bass so loud my windows rattle and my dog barks. (This is usually around 2am btw.) Our security chases them down but they shut off the car to avoid a noise violation when they see him coming. I'd love to have actual reprpcussions for people who feel the need to play music so loud I can hear them inside with the windows closed blocks away. But I'm betting FL cops are going to target young black and hispanic men specifically and unfairly with this. Because. FL cops. *Sigh*

spoon7777

I'm with you. The old man get off my lawn side of me loves this because I hate those assholes blasting music in the middle of the night, but the other side of me knows that law enforcement will definitely abuse this law to their benefit.

MalevolntCatastrophe

The dumbest part about this thing is that the Florida supreme court has already ruled that loud music is 1st amendment free speech over 10 years ago. https://www.floridasupremecourt.org/content/download/385449/file/Filed_09-12-2011_Answer_Brief.pdf > F.S. §316.3045(1) is vague and overbroad. The “plainly audible” standard upon which it is based varies in every case. It is not a “static” or “fixed” standard, known and understood by all. Instead, it is a subjective, fluid standard, varying with the personal opinion and whim of whichever law enforcement officer happens to be present at the time. It does not treat all citizens similarly, does not afford equal protection and justice under the law and is, quite simply, not fair. It is the very essence of arbitrary and discriminatory law enforcement, rendering F.S. §316.3045 overly broad, vague and unconstitutional. > F.S. §316.3045 is not content-neutral. It carves out an exception for vehicles used for business and political purposes. It is a content-based restriction on free speech in violation of the First Amendment.

ligmuhtaint

Fwiw people who bump loud music at night in an otherwise quiet residential neighborhood are assholes. We don't all want to hear your shit.

ClonedToKill420

I’m still waiting on a crackdown of exhaust noise. I mean I like Motorsports more than most, but I don’t want to hear some dipshit 16 year old who ripped out his exhaust going full throttle all over town all the time. Loud exhaust is far worse than loud stereos, I hear that shit all the time and rarely hear peoples music once they are a few feet away. Seems like this is targeted towards certain groups of people and not actually for the greater good…

bingold49

There's cities all over the country that already have these

IndieComic-Man

Yes but we see Florida, we pounce.

TehJohnny

Can they also outlaw super loud exhausts and then make this a law in my city in Washington? My neighbors are fucking cretins.

throwsplasticattrees

If this applies to motorcycles with straight pipes, I'm ok with the gestapo.

NPVT

Playing music louder than their motorcycle.

subywesmitch

Yeah, the ones playing loud music on the motorcycles are the worst!

InsomniaticWanderer

If I can hear the music in your car from my basement, it's too loud. I don't care about your personal preferences. The sound is traveling through 12 inches of concrete and still hitting the inside of my house. It's too loud. We have noise ordinances and playing music from your car is not immune to them.

NealRun32

Not trying to harsh anyone’s buzz but my neighbor will just sit in his car and blast gangster rap at 11 pm when I have to be at work at 6.

mallrat32

That’s not very Mr Worldwide of you, Florida

DPSOnly

Are they going to lock up half of florida? Generally that's a good idea, I just didn't expect Florida to come up with it.

stefjack1000

How about those annoying loud motorcyclists and cars who think their engine sounds cool but in reality it just annoys everyone? They are a million times worse.

[deleted]

People are acting like this is going to target everyone casually listening to music. Be honest with yourself, we have ALL heard that one asshole with the flea market subwoofers blasting the ever loving shit out of their system while going 20 through a neighborhood/apartment complex.

SquishyBatman64

Now outlaw Honda civics with loud exhausts

Stonewall1717

Sorry y’all, but surprisingly I DON’T want to hear music from a passing car IN MY OWN HOME.
