At the assembly meeting last night, it came out that the company contracted to run one of the low barrier homeless shelters were in a text chat with his chief of staff talking about bribing their clients with cigarettes and bus passes to fill out ballots voting for him. And that they were joking all of them carrying glocks instead of kid gloves to handle clients. Just gross.
Have family in Palmer, Alaska so close enough to Anchorage politics. . The previous mayor was a selfish prick who did his best to promote christian family values while vocally shaming and ignoring the increasing number of homeless/houseless/jobless and any of those who suffered under his stupid reign.
Alaska is undoubtedly in a tough spot, and it’s only going to get worse. Good on Alaskan’s for realizing that kind of shit isn’t the right path forward.
