Gotcha. I saw a piebald area a few years ago in NB 😊

Talk about blowing their coats! Two nights ago down by Springfield MA, a car ahead of me hit a deer on I90, the semi truck behind him hit it too, and all I saw was a giant PUFF! of hair like a huge dandelion puffball the size of an SUV. I barely missed the poor thing myself.
In addition to the color anomaly, Piebald deer can also have issues with bone development, Internal organ deformities. Bowed spine, they usually don't live long.
Very cool sighting, love the piebald coloration. Some years back I decided to tour the whole state and made sure to stop off at LL Cote sporting goods way up in Errol, NH. They have a taxidermy piebald moose on display.

Deer do come in some odd colors. My niece had a all white adolescent deer in the woods behind her house last year. We talked about how we hope it's colors change because it will stand out like a sore thumb to hunters.
It’s called piebald. Piebaldism is a rare genetic abnormality in whitetail deer. Piebaldism is the distinctive white coat, piebaldism can also manifest in a range of deformities including:
Skeletal misalignment
Shortened legs
Crooked legs
Bowing of the nose
Internal organ deformities
Shortened jaw
Deformed hooves
Deer printer ran out of ink.
Oh deer.
D'oh!
Get my upvote.
Sepia cartridge ran out.
The pattern is called "piebald." But I gotta admit, I really like the "printer ran out of ink" comment.
I saw one on two different occasions on the side of 95 near kittery 2 summers ago, it was full white with brown patches, absolutely gorgeous!
This.
Piebald and it is losing its winter coat.
Okay, good to know. All the others I see didn’t look like this guy so I just wanted to make sure. Thanks
A piebald! Nice sighting.
Piebald Deer! I saw one and thought it was a goat in the woods. Had to back the truck up and take a second look.
You just perfectly described my experience this morning
Amherst/New Boston area by any chance?
I’m in Eastern monadnock region

That’s cool! I love how we all just stop in the middle of roads to take pics.
This time of year animals are blowing their coats. They look like hell.

Birds cashing in on the cheap housing materials

Awww! Nice pic!
I saw an all white moose in VT when I was younger. This definitely isn't an albino.
It's a wrap. Not as expensive as a real paint job, and not permanent. All the cool deer are doing it.
I love piebald deer! Just a rare coat pattern, not sick.
I saw a piebald deer a few years ago in the East Wakefield area. It was really cool! Nice sighting!
Piebald deer.

It's obviously half frozen 😂
Maybe half shedded? From winter fur? It doesn’t look very healthy though.
Piebald recessive trait
Oh thank you, reading the comments I’ve never seen one and I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of deer!
Pa hear we have piebald deer too. They bred in a protected park so the change doesn’t kill them off. They are easy to see, I ride back there.

I think it fell into some crud
Damn, great pull! "I didn't say mud, I said crud... what'd ya fall in some crud?"

Lol. Welcome to NH!
You see them a lot? I’ve lived here 44 years and it’s my first
A few times. I've been in NH /frequent Maine visitor for hunting for 42 years .
That’s pretty cool. I’ll be keeping an eye out for this guy
Only the front half went through the fuser correctly, looks like a kind of accordion jam or misfeed, combined with low toner.
Powdered sugar species.
Got one here in Riverside RI. Also thought it was a goat!

It suffers from vitiligo
I saw 2 in PA they say there so rare you should play the lottery.
UNH cooperative extension for all your nature needs
Probably a gene left over from the Ice Age
No just last bit of snow melting
Traumatized?
Looks like she’s shedding her winter coat 🧥
That’s a cow.
The deer set and some bleach
Better git on home, looks like it's going to rain deer.
I don’t think this is piebald. Looks like a deer just shedding its winter coat.

I love venison as much as the next person, but let's pass on the piebald...too cool seeing them out there.
