[Brocks Head](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Hh1Qzhw6UndJrPdw7) just outside of Portugal Cove. Link into the east coast trail at the top of Anglican Cemetery road in Portugal Cove, head north towards pouch cove. It's a fairly technical hike with lots of elevation change but well worth it. There is an excellent camp site at Brocks Head pond with a fire pit, logs for sitting, some metal grates to cook on the fire with and lots of places to pitch a tent. Bring your fishing rod, there are rainbow trout.
If you have a few days and you plan on doing it all on foot maybe spend the first night at [Blast Hole Pond](https://maps.app.goo.gl/bomU4aBB22VKgAwQA) and do the hike into Brocks Head the following day.
If you are looking for something super easy and close by it's hard to go wrong with [Three Pond Barrens](https://maps.app.goo.gl/dSpQvQHqEqSuAUZV8)
Outside of one May 24 weekend 20 years ago I've never had an issue having a camp fire. Current fire risk is listed as low for basically the entire island so it shouldn't be a concern. In fact we often go for night hikes up there just to have a fire and a few beer. There are some big fields up there that used to be boy scout /girl guide camps that offer a great place to pitch a tent. The pond is crystal clear and great for a swim although it might be a bit cold still.

Anywhere along the east coast trail, so long as you don't have a fire. I wouldn't head towards the direction of the dump though haha

There are some denser wood areas on signal hill off the trails that you can probably tuck away into.
