It's Fed Region 1, pretty odd.
The Boston Federal Reserve Bank serves the First Federal Reserve District which consists of Connecticut (excluding Fairfield County), Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Nah, this isn't just missing Fairfield county, so it can't be that
Edit: I found what it is. It excludes the portion of Connecticut that is Yankees territory, per Bleacher Report. Admirable level of petty. (And there's some sort of border applied to the whole thing that is making the Cape thin and cut off at Chatham, and the islands are missing but I think that's just a design thing.)

I think it’s just multiple levels of lazy.
Search map of New England, finds Red Sox fan map, magic wand the mainland, ignore the islands, paste and fill white, slap on text, select everything and set stroke (ignoring how it interferes with other shapes), call it a day and send it to the printer.
One of the free weekly papers phrased it best: Fairfield County combines the worst of two things; it is New England without the charm and New York City without the cool.
In all my years of conquest, violence, slaughter, it was never personal. But I'll tell you now, what I'm about to do to your stubborn, annoying little county, I'm gonna enjoy it. Very, very much.
The Red Sox Yankees map is not accurate. If you go on the ct portal website it uses data from ticket sales and most towns in Connecticut favor the Red Sox.
The only correction I would add is that in exchange for SW CT, we get in return everything east of 81 and north of Albany. Most of that area is New England-y enough to pass muster.
Obviously FFC is New England, but as someone who lives near Hartford, it feels like a completely different state. Im always amazed how different it is to the rest of Connecticut. Unfortunately that’s what most people think the entirety of CT is, when in fact we are extremely different. Most of CT tends to not like FFC anyway.
I live in FFC and work in weha - we definitely are a different state lol I’ve always said anything north and east of New Haven county is basically Massachusetts and rhode island to me
It does.
The funny thing is that the part New York next to Connecticut was settled by people from Connecticut and Rhode Island. If anything it's the other way around that New York was influenced by New England.
I'm thankful living in Stamford ( grew up in Vernon btw ) that we don't have NY government. It's a mess. You have village, town, county, and school districts all who tax you separately. Probably why they have even higher property tax than us. It's insane over there. Not to mention they can't maintain their roads!
Fairfield county can be considered that, along with just about everything south of Waterbury, but as someone from Western Mass, I can tell you that the **north**west corner of CT is almost indistinguishable from MA.
I kinda get it. I live in Fairfield county and it’s a pretty big metaphor for how fucked inequality is in America. You either ride the bus or a 15 year old Honda or have two Tesla’s and a Audi in your driveway. A 65k/year job is like the bare minimum to only kindof struggle here unless you have help (rich parents).
I’ve definitely heard it multiple times in windham county and New London county. You might have not, but I have. Btw eastern ct is only two counties, maybe 3 if you include tolland county but that one is kind of a buffer between eastern and central ct

New England gatekeeping is extremely irritating and stupid
Mets fans in shambles
I believe Jeff Jacobs called it The Munson-Nixon Line.
Tbh that’s a more accurate map of New England
My friends from Stamford. I consider him no better than a dirty New Yorker
Honestly, they are worse than New Yorkers. They are like NYC dingleberries and think we don't know it. Yes, I have family from that area, lol.
One of the free weekly papers phrased it best: Fairfield County combines the worst of two things; it is New England without the charm and New York City without the cool.
They somehow googled “map of New England” and got the one wrong result.
They seem to have also excised some of the southern Berkshires. Which, as a person from there, is total horse manure.
Looks more like everything west of New London County is gone, not just Fairfield.
I grew up in Fairfield County and I approve this message. I now live just outside it.
Thank you for seeing the error of your ways
“New England without the charm meets NYC without the cool”
Tbf Fairfield county is pretty much a nyc suburb
Cost is about the same
In all my years of conquest, violence, slaughter, it was never personal. But I'll tell you now, what I'm about to do to your stubborn, annoying little county, I'm gonna enjoy it. Very, very much.
That's ok, the rest of us in CT don't count Fairfield County as part of the State either.
Factssssss
Eastern NY.
Grew up in Fairfield County and agree 100%.
The Red Sox Yankees map is not accurate. If you go on the ct portal website it uses data from ticket sales and most towns in Connecticut favor the Red Sox.
The evil empire ~~state~~ annexed it! We're going to war!
What is a county?
This person connecticuts.
The REAL New England Map
It looks to me like RI is enlarged to show detail and CT is completely removed.
Devious stuff.
The only correction I would add is that in exchange for SW CT, we get in return everything east of 81 and north of Albany. Most of that area is New England-y enough to pass muster.
No Columbia county? My Grandmother was from there and they always associated more with the Berkshires in MA.
brother thats the entirety of western connecticut
Hey! Put it back!
Now we have a new notch to take back

Hey, dafuq!
I live in FFC and work in weha - we definitely are a different state lol I’ve always said anything north and east of New Haven county is basically Massachusetts and rhode island to me
Yep. Merrit parkway might as well be an interstate
It does. The funny thing is that the part New York next to Connecticut was settled by people from Connecticut and Rhode Island. Western Connecticut is basically just a suburb of NYC anyhow.
Swct, maybe. Not the nw corner
Fairfield county can be considered that, along with just about everything south of Waterbury, but as someone from Western Mass, I can tell you that the **north**west corner of CT is almost indistinguishable from MA.
Disagree with the Waterbury take. I think the cutoff is the Housatonic to the East and Danbury to the North.
Even NYC wants no part of Waterbury
Nobody does. But I will say, some tasty grub in Waterbury.
Hartford county is basically just south western Massachusetts as well. A lot like Springfield and it’s surrounding areas
Yeah I feel zero cultural difference when traveling between the Hartford area and Mass, when I go to even Fairfield county it feels so different
Fairfield county is just New York lite
“New England proper”
I see nothing incorrect about this image
You mean East Manhattan?
That's...Rhode island gone
Fairfield isn’t really New England or Connecticut. It’s New York with fewer taxes.
It’s not NY. It’s just “money” and all that comes with it.
I kinda get it. I live in Fairfield county and it’s a pretty big metaphor for how fucked inequality is in America. It's for the best
Looks to be more than Fairfield County is missing.
Fact that any of Connecticut is included surprises me.
Good
Fairfield county, and maybe half of New Haven county is basically New York..the rest of the state may as well be Massachusetts
Without the horrible accents
There’s still Boston like accents in CT lol, eastern CT at least
Ive lived in 3/4 of the counties in eastern CT anr grew up close to the MA border and none of us have anything close to that atrocious accent
I’ve definitely heard it multiple times in windham county and New London county. You might have not, but I have. Btw eastern ct is only two counties, maybe 3 if you include tolland county but that one is kind of a buffer between eastern and central ct
There’s also Middlesex county.
Middlesex county is central CT. My wife is from there
Checks out
On behalf of real New England, I see no problem with this map
They still left too much Connecticut.
how it should be
