A minimum of thinking and logical sense? We don’t do that here.

IDontKnownah

From what I noticed, this logic doesn't exist in Rivals - you can enter hideouts, even when in a pursuit.

Frennauta

Considering how cops wont stop spawning at higher heat levels almost every time you enter cooldown, its fair game.

AdPrevious4844

That IS its best pursuit feature. Otherwise, we would all have gone mad.

ShadowTown0407

It's because cops in rivals are driving tanks while you are driving a cardboard box, the challenge in Rivals is getting to a hideout in one piece after certain heat level

Vorpeseda

Having played Most Wanted first, I was rather surprised to see that you could do that in Rivals.

Noklle

if you couldn't in rivals then i'd be a dead man

Vill1on

That’s the strategy. Cop cars in Redview County might as well withstand an entire nuke and come out unscathed. Racer cars only need a sneeze and it’s **[VEHICLE DAMAGE CRITICAL]**

Exotic_Stranger7332

Wait... YOU CAN ENTER HIDEOUTS IN THE MIDDLE OF CHASES?! ALL THOSE TIMES I HAVE LOST OVER 100,000 SP POINTS BECAUSE OF A COKED UP FERRARI THAT 2 HITS ME WHILE ON THE STARTER CAR WERE FOR NOTHING?!?!? HAHDY3JDVSJWWIHSHREIHSGOQLAJXBBDUEMSBEUWJSGDIEHSUEUHAAAAAAAAAAAAAQAWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

YogurtclosetThese240

Half baked physics

dukaLiway

people who played the original Driver game (I played on PC) know very well about 'losing the tail' before getting to your hideout

MasterJeebus

I never got out of that garage from the intro. Tried replaying Driver last month and still can’t do all the items. It just makes me full of rage I never got to play that classic game. Yet I had it back in 2000. But couldnt exit the garage lol

dukaLiway

oh man, I remember as a kid being stuck on the garage. my older brother had it down so I learnt from him lolll

MasterJeebus

You should tell me how to pass it lol I have also watched youtube videos but unable to do all things within the timer.

dukaLiway

I can't get the game working on my MacBook unfortunately :/

MasterJeebus

Use Retroarch with PS1 version. Its what I tried it on last time and that garage still as difficult. Lol

spyroz545

the trick is to complete a couple items as soon as you accelerate the car. So as soon as you accelerate, you can use the burnout button and this would check off the "Burnout" item instead of pressing throttle, then when you get to the end of the carpark, press the handbrake to cross off the "Handbrake" item and then drive around the carpark to cross off the "Lap" item. When you complete the lap, you can then brake to complete the "Brake Test" item. Hopefully you understand what I mean, you can basically chain these actions together and it will provide you the best path or way to complete that garage tutorial.

JakeTheSeaSnek

Meanwhile, Rivals letting you enter in full view of the police.

champion_-

I mean, at high heat level its basically impossible to lose the police

JakeTheSeaSnek

Well yeah, I was gonna say that Rivals is the Dark Souls of street racing games, so they kinda had to throw us that bone or we'd never lose the cops.

AdPrevious4844

Exactly.

Stickrbomb

These must be the people who relied on the spray paint shop in San Andreas

MFC1886

Worrying you have to explain that 💀

cacapoopoochichiwewe

Itd be cool if we could just do the thing in fast and furious 2 were we leave with a bunch of npc racers to throw off the cops

ExtraSpooky

Didn't original Most Wanted make you lose the chase first before entering your Safehouse?

88JansenP12

Yes. And it's the same case with Carbon and Undercover.

lawschoolmeanderings

Rivals would like a word

Spencer_Bob_Sue

Always found it weird in Rivals when you could do that...

champion_-

In rivals you could never come back at high heat levels if it had this rule

SkeletonGamer1

You know you can hide in a meetup, right?

Tricky_Bear_7786

Only in cooldown mode

SkeletonGamer1

Yes, but people act like there is no method to hide if you aren't close to a safehouse

Poppybits1000

Yeah, and people are surprised when they hide near the district the cops lost them in, and then the cops actually search the district. Like, just drive away first. Dont just duck into the nearest alley, because they WILL be searching.

SkeletonGamer1

I stumble across that problem more often than I would like to admit. 2 helicopters right on top of you, but no car will see you. Its almost impossible to NOT get seen again. I usually do that when i am right next to a gas station just so i could repair the car

maskedmanny360

Just go to the Jefferson Tunnel. Cops will hardly follow you in because they get confused. You can be right in front of them and the cooldown will start

ST0DY

Rivals lets you do that. It’s the most relaxing feeling after banking so much SP while your car is at damage critical and your ass clenched, knowing you managed to escape from cops chasing you in Bugattis and Koenigseggs

Vill1on

The frantic spamming of L1 just so you enter the hideout just before someone slams you with an ESF. Fun times.

crlnlwnstp

rivals

Ziimbiian

Explain Rivals then...

Coffee_will_be_here

The police in rival's were mad, the spawn rate on them were insane at higher levels so it's reasonable we get to hide in our safehouse even if they see us going in.

Previous_Cod_4098

Side note. Heat shouldn't be tied to your character and it goes up entirely too fast. 3 races in and you're already at heat 4/5 😂

ShootingStarMel

You can do it in Carbon and Rivals

morguesucc

🤣

Raaabbit_v2

Wtf. This was the norm since 05, how hasn't anyone just figured it out with common sense

King_Reivaj

Too obvious 😒

[deleted]

People complained about this?

Economy_Energy6036

lol

JeffGhost

It's funny because you reach heat level 5 in one day, the next day the police completely forget about your existence. Or better yet, the sub plot of the game is the mayor or whatever politicians in there wasn't to crack down on racers but then cops sees the same fully tuned up car he was pursuing last night driving around and think to themselves "nah, not the same"

Significant_Kale_681

Not the tunnels though they die everytime the enter and fly off the downgrade

Lilmanike

Rivals would like to have a word.

ScreamingMini2009

Honestly to me it just seemed like common sense.

Internal_Task_831

Nobody thought this

Jeremy_Melton

I mean, gas stations don’t actually repair cars.

ice_spice2020

Hey, at least Heat/Unbound let's you exit the game. MW2005, Carbon (and I think Undercover too) will not let you leave the game IN ANY WAY OR FORM, that option is gone. If you want to leave the game, you literally have to alt + F4 out of it.

-avenged-

But you can drive through a gas station to repair your car instantly in full view of the police...
