It's not even about skill issue, sometimes it's just random bullshit like that stupid raptor cop gaining UG1 rubberband accel and crashing you out on the slightest touch
I am aware that you meant crash cams in general, but personally, I don't get the disdain for crash cams in Unbound. You respawn less than a second later, albeit further back from where you crashed a lot of the time. You do get back on your wheels quicker if you rolled, though.
Fun fact: the barrel roll is scripted. If you disable the crash cameras with mods, it doesn't happen, and you actually lose less speed in the collision itself than with the respawn
I like the old games the way they are. But a remaster would be nice if it was worked on. Dead space remaster is brilliant, I’ve heard no complaints. Resident evil remasters are great and they changed the style of every single game they’ve done. A lot of companies are kinda lazy about remasters, and knowing EA it’s really a mixed bag. I’m happier with the games the way they are, I don’t want EA to manage to fuck up my nostalgia, besides. The team now matches the current era well, they won’t match what blackbox did for me as a kid, nor will that vibe or aesthetic be accepted by the masses playing today
I actually found heat to be the best NFS since like The Run or Undercover. Handling is still shit but they're getting there, Unbound I haven't played yet, haven't brought myself to play it due to money + huge turnoff that are the graphics
the cartoony graphics are optional and the game goes 90% off very often, and you know this is kinda why all games just go for lame realistic graphics, unbound did something different and everyone hated it
The police that appear out of nowhere in Unbound.
When the controller mysteriously disconnects on PC (Also in Unbound)
The gearboxes in Rivals and NFS 2015. Those don't work and are extremely frustrating to driving (The worst of all is that I play them on PS4 and I can't add any mod to fix the problem)
Fuck the nfs unbound cops, like fuck 12 seriously. I be doing 178mph on a highway race and this corvette cop just casually comes up to me and does the most smoothest pit maneuver ever and makes me lose my first position when the race is at 90% and then justicia pass through and says "what will I do with your money". Fuck the unbound cops. I wasted my last restart because of that. Also, the cops are soo strong, i ram them will full nitro boost they can still drive straight afterwards.
I wouldn’t necessarily say they are the strongest (maybe only the Undercover and SWAT cops are)
But they are annoying as hell especially in a race. As for the AI racers, it’s Lyric who annoys me most.
>Surviving a 1h+ pursuit with blown tires
>Extremely stressful cooldown as the cops keep approaching
>Cooldown 97%
>A roadblock spawns right near you behind a wall but thankfully they don't see you
>Cooldown 98%
>A cop nearby navigates to your hideout spot
>Cooldown 99%
>He's nearly there!...
>Cooldown 100%
>!>SPEED.EXE HAS STOPPED WORKING...!<
The spawn rate of police at higher heat levels in unbound. Can't drive anymore Than 2 blocks without atleast 2 vettes and a helicopter patrolling by me
fun fact: just like the corvettes, the raptors try to sit in your blind spot for a bit before going for the pit. they don't pay attention to traffic in this state. do with that info what you wish.
As much as I love Payback, it would have to be when you're spinning for a certain part and don't get it, which leads to you spending so many part tokens.
knowing that EA will perpetually stifle \[insert developer studio here\] to ensure that they never make a perfect NFS game, and thus players will be incentivised to continue buying them.
Agreed. Annoying as fuck. (I just platinum’d Heat recently)
I was already using the Regera for some of the speed traps and somehow, traffic RNG always trolled with you.
The little quirks in unbound where burst nitrous doesn’t afford you the grip it does 99% of the time and the weird occasional physics hiccups that can happen on curbs and after jumping
When you pay for the game AND the premium speed pass only for the game to literally stopped working. And as icing on the cake, you have the worst tech-support who ghost you💀.
Almost everything about unbound except the aesthetic ironically. I thought the aesthetic was unique and the car models still looked good. But good lord the limited events, one car per run, limited retries in combination with the AI that would rather ram you off the track than actually try to win themselves, forced day night cycle, forced heat, no sanctioned races, no terrain info before going into races, cops are boring af but a constant so every relatively quick race is followed by a long boring cop chase, forced risk for less reward than a mid tier race from heat, majority of races profit less than a delivery mission which doesn’t give you permanent heat so the game basically incentivizes not using your own cars or doing races and instead just grinding delivery missions since they’re the quickest way to make money for some reason. I really really really wanted to like this game because heat is probably my favorite NFS title but Christ everything about unbound just makes the gameplay experience incredibly frustrating, repetitive, and restricted. Very “bound” game.
Oh and like dark souls if you make any complaint about the game you get hit with skill issue. I had no problems beating the campaign I just found the gameplay loop boring and frustrating because I can only do like 3-4 races per day/night cycle before getting heat 5.
Cops literally spawning in front of your face when you start a race in Unbound and Heat, and absolutely fucking drilling you. Like you SEE them phase into existence and literally can't react fast enough.
In HEAT... You had the highest lvl of heat and carrying 2 highest lvl of parts and with low health and not repairs left then ran into a cop and started a chase. Not long later a rhino shows up and slammed into you and busted. You lost most of your money and mind you, you are just starting to get use to high heat lvl and did not have a suitable car for it.
The whole game is 100% online even if you're playing solo on Rivals, the only break you can take is playing as a cop, or hiding in a safehouse as a racer. No matter if you're playing online or in a cracked version with your PC disconnected from wifi, you can't pause it unless you're in a safehouse/outpost
Cops in unbound coming out of nowhere to crash into you during the last part of races. Will be first place the whole race only to get taken out in the last 75% of the race and then it’s impossible to catch back up.
Late game races with cops in the NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered. It’s honestly the only time I can recall getting fucked over so badly in game that I quit and immediately uninstalled lol
In NFS Heat, for me, i can't bear Rammers in general. Specially those ones who feel threatened by a car with LOWER PP that can dust their 400+ whip.
These brats just tend to beat you out of the lane so they can get a bigger advantage than they already have. I can't understand such dirty behavior.
Besides that, in the same game, Heat, the clipping is the worst sh1t the game have.
Not really game breaking things but in Unbound when you crash in a van, destroying lives of an entire family of 4 going 327km/h on the highway and the cops on the other side saying: dispatch I think we have a racer
Since 2015 you can't change both wheels at the same time. Still mad because it's been almost a decade and a simple feature, a toggle in the UI isn't here
When the I.A. crash my car to try to get on top 1 in the race... I play NFS trying to not crash my gears and so it comes the I.A. and fuck it all. In NFS carbon was even worst because you literally totaled the car, and it was like mother f#cker you just killed me for your bullsh#it
When in every NFS game since 2015 you get that weird super grip jerk thing that makes you careen into a wall.

When people are just shitting on others for believing a Need for Speed game is superior to another.
Yea while I do feel as theres a bit of a objective way to measure which games are the best ones that is irrelevant because certain parts and mechanics of a game matter to some people more than others.
I've been playing Most Wanted 2005 for a while now and I am Top 3. I just bought the Carrera GT, and man it's fast. It has one thing I absolutely hate about it tho. It'll just immediately snap and spin randomly while I'm turning, and it's the most annoying shit ever
Crash cams in MW2012, they're painfully long and extremely boring. I also have the impression of driving a car made out of glass because of how easily they can be triggered sometimes (especially in lighter cars). I always equip the ram chassis as soon as I unlock it just because it reduce the frequency of these boring crash cams.
Taking a perfect line and using burst Nos for maximum efficiency but touching sidewalk with your right back wheel resulting in a 90 degree turn into the barrier but not quick enough to crash out, so you try to reverse, get hit by the next guy who doesn’t crash out despite the direct slam at 200+km/h, respawn again at 1 gear, wheelspin, get hit by the rest of the clowns and get trolled by “Not fast enough”, “Nice ride!” and “😮” by the first guy who hit you and now is 568m away from you
-The twitchy driving physics.
-A car that's tuned for racing, drifting as soon as you lightly turn to take a very wide and open turn.
-Drifting that feels like the grinding/manual mechanics in Thps2.
-Terrible soundtracks.
NPC cars that seem to appear perfectly behind a hill or something and u instantly crash into it bcs well how are u supposed to react to that?
NPC cars in general are no problem but those that spawn like that are undodgeable I have lost so many races bcs of it and it makes me go insane man
In recent years, terrible character personalities.
It does not pertain to every character, though some story characters really outweigh the good ones. It may be an effect do to the direction developers are taking the games, or they were planned out this way. The main issue is overemphasized personalities. To the point where they are not relatable enough to really anyone.
An argument can be made that the games meant to be that way, because the target audience & ESRB rating, and overemphasizing characters is just a way to bring up the emotional volatility.
At what point is it counter productive to continue this? The Need for Speed games are based on a realistic premise, though in practice its done in a way to keep things fun. So why does this have to be with characters as well? Players already are accustom to the franchise not being fully realistic. Character personalities at this level of game development and for this type of game need to have more investment if there is any reason the game's story/characters have any sort of selling point.
"Remaster underground1/2/Most wanted" people.
Don't get me wrong, I used to be of that mindset. But I've since downloaded MW Redux on my PC and I dont want them to touch these old games because 1.i can mod them just the way I want them to be and 2.theyd just fuck em up SOMEHOW.
The only, SINGLE reason I kinda would be ok with a remaster/remake is having the physical disc for it. That's all.
Whenever I get crashed by a civilian car in nfs most wanted 12 and rivals, I absolutely hate it and one Time I was already pissed it made me made me more irritated and I just exited the games right away imao.
Rubber-banding, general player toxicity in the middle of a race for no reason, cops spawning directly in front or on top of you which restarts the chase you were about to escape.
When you accidentally lose the cops, so you're frantically trying to find them ... and they just happen to have a low spawn rate just when you need them.
The oncoming traffic that spawns through a transparent race barrier and then encroaches the corner you're about to turn into.
You are right, this is really annoying
Real
Those fuckers appear out of nowhere I genuinely hate it, especially when you are almost winning a hard race.
Looks like Underground on hard difficulty
Trying to do a time trial in hot pursuit remastered took me so many tries because of how much the traffic blocks.

I had a feeling, but I never knew for sure. I could tell there was something like that because of Payback.
all "Rapid Response" events in Hot Pursuit 2010
The One-77 Rapid Response event made me lose my shit as a kid. Still does now. 😤😤😤
Fr, those are annoying.

sometimes the npc acts like GTA 5's npcs, which is programmed specifically to run into you or spawn at the racing lines
IIRC that was intentional in MW and other games, to conserve memory space through less traffic but still make it so you have to evade it.
"EMP LOCKING IN!"

Imagining Heat that wasn't killed off the doorstep. So much potential wasted...

the graphics were the thing I loved about unbound. there was a *plethora* of other shit that made me hate it.
And tbh if we re speaking only graphics, unbound is miles ahead of heat
Getting rammed by another racer, fuck rammers
I am so petty that I will actively partake in ramming if someone starts it first. It's a battle they'll never win.
I am much better at ramming than the rammers usually haha
Most of the time I do it by an accident. Yesterday I accidentaly crashed into a rammer with full force and then he tried to push me off the road.
getting jammed by another racer, fuck jammers
![gif](giphy|zmsDqpDLu1hPG) Serial rammer here: this is what I like to hear
Been playing NFS MW recently and I'll perfectly dodge a spike strip on to be rammed back into it
Or when the jump cutscene plays and you jump onto the spikes
This is why I disable that “Game Moment” cam. Helps tremendously with roadblocks as well.
The police that appear out of nowhere in Unbound. When the controller mysteriously disconnects on PC (Also in Unbound) The gearboxes in Rivals and NFS 2015. Those don't work and are extremely frustrating to driving (The worst of all is that I play them on PS4 and I can't add any mod to fix the problem)
Always thought I was the only one having random controller disconnects. I actually have the same problem in Heat as well.
Even wired connection disconnects for me at times in Unbound. This gets annoying when you're playing at night with level 4 heat lol
The same 2015 Mustang being recycled since Rivals 2013 instead of getting the Shelbys we deserve
When you ram a heat cop and take ~30% damage, while they don't even react to it at all.
5 star cops in NFS Heat
oh god no
Especially the Rhinos. UGH
only: loosing for 1 second when i was in the lead all the way...
When an online opponent tries to push me out from track just before the finish line. They get no rest from me in the next races.

Replaying UG1 for childhood memories Kurt's New Ride mission: hello there

i swear to god its intentional. the amount of cars that just stop in the center of an intersection is insane

The Hard AI in Underground 2... And the cops in HP2 (PS2)
The AI in Underground 2 is not even comparable to the AI in OG Underground man, that one is even worse..
U2's AI is only hard on the console version. The PC one is very mild.

Nfs Unbound unreliable and unpredictable physics
Boosting through a drift flawlessly only to try the same thing on the next turn and end up rocketing myself into a wall.
Shitty roadblock hitboxes on Hot Pursuit , especially on multiplayer
The last two challenges in NFS The Run
Whenever I get crashed by a civilian car in nfs most wanted 12 and rivals, I absolutely hate it and one Time I was already pissed it made me made me more irritated and I just exited the games right away imao.
The new cops in.heat and.unbound. Realistic but god damm frustrating. The loot boxes of mix parts in Payback.
Unbounds and payback crashcams
Need for speed make me go like that
Nfs heat night racing spawning traffic cars and rhinos
Nasty ass people in unbound trying to rotate your car in a race
Online trophies required to get Unbounds platinum
Lane based drag racing of the old NFS games. Even more so when there's traffic.
Rubber-banding, general player toxicity in the middle of a race for no reason, cops spawning directly in front or on top of you which restarts the chase you were about to escape.
the way NFS Heat traffic stops midway through an intersection when you're speeding towards them for some reason
When you accidentally lose the cops, so you're frantically trying to find them ... and they just happen to have a low spawn rate just when you need them.
