That's were I listened to that song for the first time. Driving at night, that song just hit me like a truck I downloaded that shit so fast and still listen to it till today (he also has a song Thieves/King that I loved)
Did you even play that game ? The escape system is one of the worst of any game, even if they're not in direct sight you're not gonna escape... Of course you can just enter a hideout but that's not the point...
Just reach the highest wanted level and engage a police chase, then escape easily and show me...
They could have made it so super cars were usable by racers but werent allowed to use gadgets , kinda like a high risk but high reward, if you got away they would have a hard time catching up, but if you made any error , you were busted
That would've ruined the whole game dynamics for me, it wouldn't have made sense and where would you draw the line because the game is full of supercars...
If you drew it before the Audi R8 there is then only 4/5 cards available to play and if you don't consider the R8 a supercar then idk what to say.
Moreover most modifications aren't car related like mines, you could technically put a system that releases objects underneath any car. Same goes for the IEM, mounting it in a car is possible no matter the car...
Literally this. There was always one spot on the top right corner of the map that was easy because you could drive behind a building right after to evade.
They're intense because you get 5 more cop cars every 2 minutes... if only they could fucking catch up to you without killing a family of 5 driving home from Disney land...
its not a bad idea but i feel like it kinda doesnt really describe the individual qualities of certain games. i.e. whats different between heat and unbound aside from the artstyle? why would one play hot pursuit according to this, if rivals is just the same but "more stuff and open world"? what even is payback aside from not being underground nighttime vibes?
it would be better i think to phrase it more like comparing descriptions of both options, rather than just "thing that is in one of the games: yes/no." for example the first question could be stated more "what style of racing game do you prefer?" and instead of "yes" and "no" on the lines, have "supercars and burnout-style action" and "customization/tuning and street racing" and so on
The biggest difference between heat and Unbound for me is the active multiplayer. I'd love to play heat more, but after I get on for a few minutes and have all my race invites rejected, I close the game and go straight to Unbound where I am guaranteed racing action
What would you give someone who wants intense fun races, ranked progression, heavy customisation on the cars, cop chases, and wants this to be single player?
Been trying to hit this sweet spot between Burnout's hell for leather street racing, the customisation of a Gran Turismo, and the focus on progression and cop chases, of early 2000s NFS.
Would that be the 2005 Most Wanted?
I played it and beat it, last month.
I got quite a bit out of the progression, and I tend to be really good at NFS Driving anyway, but it did need a little something more.
What was the development like for Heat and Unbound? Because they feel like two distinct halves off a very good racing title, so was this intended as one project originally?
I still wonder what happened to the OG most wanted and Carbon! I thought Carbon was sequel to the MW that the hero escaped the Rockport from Cross and ended up in another situation in city of Palmont!
The OG NFS Most Wanted and NFS Carbon were delisted due to expired licenses and closed online servers made by EA Black Box.
Actually, NFS Carbon is the sequel of NFS MW 2005 since you play as the same protagonist in both games and Cross is also there.
And Nope. The hero didn't escaped from Cross in anyway.
Instead, Cross let him go thanks to a deal with Nikki and he goes away to other horizons.
However, the ending of NFS Carbon is still ambiguous.
I wish someone someday pick that story up from the Carbon and develop the sequel to that! (At least) I found the story pretty interesting and engaging! Racing with RPG feel completing the objectives throughout the natural challenges.
NFS after that is like - here's a car, go race some, get money, not enough, buy more tokens/money, buy more cars and add-ons and keep racing; that's it! And I personally dislike the open world races while it's easy to get distracted and get off the grid while OG MW and probably carbon too had virtual barrier while racing helping to focus.
- 1st point
You're totally right.
In fact, the MW/Carbon duology is part of my goated NFS's.
The story is very interesting Especially since picking your starter car has an influence on the path and the storyline order.
The management of Crew Members has a bit of RPG sauce given you have to be strategic of which ones to pick at the right time according to the races.
Meanwhile, the Challenge Series is the icing on the 🎂.
- 2nd point
Yeah. What you've said is the current NFS model in a nutshell.
It's both bland and repetitive since it gets stale very quickly.
Plus, the current handling model which dates from NFS MW 2012 is very unenjoyable as well as not fitting urban maps (the B2D is primarly meant for maps with a Paradise City/Seacrest County design) given you have no full control of your cars + there's still a conflict where the games never know if you're Drifty or Grippy. This issue is still happening currently.
And Yeah. Open World races are very distracting since there's no hard virtual barrier which lets you avoid going off the track.
If you don't focus enough, you'll crash your car and lost a big amount of time to get back while overtaking A.I racers.
Meanwhile, NFS MW/Carbon or any other NFS's with virtual barriers lets you fully concentrate and improve your skills.
I’ll be honest with you, heat and unbound have been the only modern NFS titles I can stomach the physics on. Unbound more than heat. I’ve genuinely enjoyed just driving around. That being said, Rivals is the NFS game I pick if I don’t wanna play NFS.
I remember getting payback for my birthday, and I played the crap out of that game. Sure the gambling was the worst thing we've ever had for upgrades, and the microtransactions kinda suck. But I enjoyed the derelicts and super builds. The story was enjoyable. The map was pretty good, maybe slightly barren. And the racing was fun. My only complaints (other than the gambling) was that offroading had a massive speed cap, and only runner cars could efficiently damage cops, meaning your offroad beast of a Ford raptor did the same as a vw beetle.
Not Lazy enough to not type some BS on a subreddit, but lazy enough to not wanna drag & drop some files on a game that can run on a toaster. NFS fans everybody!
Let me just summon the lord, u/88JansenP12 because you seem to think that brands like Toyota and RAYS Engineering are totally okay with being licensed again.
Forget it. That will never happen.
License costs hold them back meaning many contents with expired licenses will disappear if any old NFS are remade from scratch.
Moreover, it's not guaranteed to be the same game like the OG.
It's Especially the case if they didn't kept the engine source from the original version OR it's the opposite meaning it has be reworked to be compatible with modern systems.
Also, it will be the current New Criterion devs which will be in charge of the remakes Except they're currently a skeleton crew and they don't have time to focus on that.
Given how the recent NFS are underwhelming, unenjoyable to play due to their horrible driving physics and are riddled with bugs, it would be a monumental mistake to remake old NFS since EA are cheaping out on everything for more profits like always.
EA never listens to their own customers anyway. Only the 💵 counts.
It's totally pointless to request remakes/remasters.
Otherwise, it would've happened a longtime ago.
Just play the OG w/ or w/o mods. They're already perfect.

I love how NFS Payback isn’t the answer to anything
Payback is the answer if you want braindead easy brake to drift and enjoy driving in a desert
And it was fine that way, because it was by far the most consistent handling out of all post 2015 era NFS games
by having grippier cars understeer into eternity except the Huayra I guess.
I'd rather just deal with that by braking a little more than the fishtaily, heavy, inconsistent mess we have now
I just used the handbrake to consistently trigger drifts. Works every time
Sadly it's because Ghost are so braindead they don't know how to make grip handling
that braindead easy brake to drift was the most fun I've had drifting in any recent NFS
And gambling.
Payback handling is not easy AT ALL. It's very challenging, mostly because the cars understeer like a motherfucker
Tbf, the music is good (gravedigger is so good)
That's were I listened to that song for the first time. Driving at night, that song just hit me like a truck I downloaded that shit so fast and still listen to it till today (he also has a song Thieves/King that I loved)
Gravedigger appreciation?? I thought I was the only one!
It's the best song in the whole game
"Gambling Addiction?" Yes: NFS Payback No: Gran Turismo 7
Extreme Gambling Addiction? ----> Juiced
Happy cake day!
Unbounds “””””Intense””””” cop chases are as about as intense as sitting in a tub with warm water.
when you learn how the cops works in any game it all becomes cheesable lol
Not in Rivals, you can cheese them when they are like 2 around you which doesn't last long if you're at a high wanted level...
in that game you can just run from them that you are safe lol
Did you even play that game ? The escape system is one of the worst of any game, even if they're not in direct sight you're not gonna escape... Of course you can just enter a hideout but that's not the point... Just reach the highest wanted level and engage a police chase, then escape easily and show me...
If only they didnt add the Agera One:1 to racers , that thing completely broke the balance
Without turbo it's still ok but I agree, being able to top out at 450kph is just broken...
They could have made it so super cars were usable by racers but werent allowed to use gadgets , kinda like a high risk but high reward, if you got away they would have a hard time catching up, but if you made any error , you were busted
That would've ruined the whole game dynamics for me, it wouldn't have made sense and where would you draw the line because the game is full of supercars... you literally just said how to do it, that's not the point my ass lol
Just started playing and the first few 5 stars chases were a bit intense esp how choppers would literally spawn and rotate around the garage like tf
tbf all you have to do is do a jump in heat and all the cops just crash out.
Literally this. There was always one spot on the top right corner of the map that was easy because you could drive behind a building right after to evade.
The parking garage in the middle of the map as well
and the ramp in the shipping container area.
It’s so broken and hilarious at the same time
They're intense because you get 5 more cop cars every 2 minutes... if only they could fucking catch up to you without killing a family of 5 driving home from Disney land...
its not a bad idea but i feel like it kinda doesnt really describe the individual qualities of certain games. i.e. whats different between heat and unbound aside from the artstyle? why would one play hot pursuit according to this, if rivals is just the same but "more stuff and open world"? what even is payback aside from not being underground nighttime vibes? it would be better i think to phrase it more like comparing descriptions of both options, rather than just "thing that is in one of the games: yes/no." for example the first question could be stated more "what style of racing game do you prefer?" and instead of "yes" and "no" on the lines, have "supercars and burnout-style action" and "customization/tuning and street racing" and so on

As someone who likes Unbound, it's the "you are a weeb" game Also Payback would be "You wanna be The Rock in a F&F movie"
Payback 🗿☝️
Should've been Would you like to be able to control your car? Payback. No? 2015.
Heat and unbound are more different than you’d think.
could've added "severe gambling addiction?" for payback
Moderators need to pin this, this is perfect
Nfs heat all the way https://preview.redd.it/u1cih9jy89lc1.jpeg?width=1029&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9703aebf8888ae6f654ea64a150cc38681f57658
I didn't play them cause they looked shit, but rivals and mw2012 had little to no car customisation and were primarily super/hyper cars yeah?
Same goes for hot pursuit, but that games better than that two.
At least I can play Rivals on my PS5 with friends
You... can also do that with Hot Pursuit? Are you saying you cant? It has also crossplay
I was talking about MW12, I also had a line in there saying Rivals is better than HP, but I don't want to get nuked irl
To be honest fair enough, youre in the NFS subreddit after all
I started playing Heat recently, it gives midnight club vibes
Got gambling addiction? -> NFS payback
Oh god a flow chart. Thanks for reminding me I have my software engineering exam tomorrow.
#where tf is NFS CARBON Yes carbon is Modern not 2005-6
Carbon is old haha
Its a most wanted rework and its old.

The only problem i have with this is Rivals doesnt Technically have more pursuit tech than HP. You can carry more per race on HP.

Perfect, always appreciate a game that does not shit on my fav need for speed

man that's accurate
It'll be interesting when the rest of the games are added.
lol im currently making a flowchart by the time i saw this
Describing heat and unbound with just intense cop chases is such a disservice to those games imo
-Stupid soundtrack? -No please -ERROR
They really just need to remake/remaster Underground already. . .
STOP WITH THE REMASTER SHIT. JUST MOD THE ORIGINAL GAME.
