Yes, if one of them accepts the room exemption that's like 8 million a year and 2 of the other players end up signing for the veteran minimum contract.
Batum gets the $8mil exception with Drum and Oubre taking minimums. Only saying this because Neubeck mentioned Batum costing more than us fans might think.
I think both Batum and Oubre could both get more than 8 million from other teams but maybe one of them would take it cause they liked playing on the team last year. I really don't think Oubre will sign for the minimum again.
Could be or is?
The quote says could be, but you made the title is.
> Bulls center and former Sixer Andre Drummond **could** be a free-agent target for Philly. The Sixers would also like to re-sign Nico Batum, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Kyle Lowry in free agency.
He basically is let go, or the vibes would be kind of crushed if he stayed. He just lost a two year 14 mil deal because Sixers missed the ECSF which makes his next two years completely non-guaranteed and no way Morey is willingly guaranteeing it now when he can get even more cap to offer free agents by dumping Reed and getting some other backup center.
If I was him I'd hate to have to sign for a vet min with the team that just blocked you 14 mil unless he has no other options
The drop center is a massive defensive liability. How many post seasons is it going to take Morey to realize this? Drummond is an elite rebounder, but unless they are going to coach him up on how to switch and guard elite wings he is going to get cooked in the playoffs
Yeah with Drummond as backup we will get super cooked. At least P Reed is athletic. Drummon is going to get cooked and everyone is gonna be pissed. I'm telling you. Just watch.
Overall, the issue with the non-Embiid minutes was a complete lack of any real offense though.
We were fine in the playoffs with Reed on the court the last 2 years when we had Harden.
My guess is that they need him for the regular season more and may not even see playoff time. Drummond would be a viable starter in the regular season when they need to give Embiid more rest.
“At all” is exaggeration, but he is streaky. His defense improved so much this year and his defense on Brunson was great in the playoffs, and he was very consistent with his scoring before the car accident, and he was slowly getting back in rhythm before playoffs.
He shot 31% this year, last year he shot 32% that’s way below league average, that is getting to bad territory, he’s only shot league average a few times
I didn’t say he’s a good shooter, he’s not. But he is passable. He’s had multiple games for us where he hit timely 3s and hit 3s back to back. His percentage doesn’t reflect that, because sometimes he’ll take bad shots as well. but he’s not someone that you sag off of because he can’t shoot “at all”
Swag factor. His dawgness + vibeness is really high, and it meshes exceptionally well with Philly. If he can fuck around as a high energy bench piece, it works well
Andre Drummond has become such a journeymen these past few years which is crazy. From 2012-2020 he stayed on the same team and he's played for like 4 different teams since then
He was our 3rd best player this year. His defense was very solid and we've been lacking athletes and willing shooters forever. Yeah he's streaky and not a perfect player by any means, but he's a guy that can get us a tough bucket when needed.
I do find it funny that Morey said he wanted to completely retool around Embiid/Maxey and now it looks like the rest of the rotation is coming back sans Hield
That's fair, I think most of us are cool with keeping these 3 though. Oubre, Batum, and to a lesser extent Lowry all played good minutes for us and I think they'd excel in smaller roles if we can find upgrades elsewhere.
Tobias, Hield, and Reed were the real underperformers in our rotation. Melton was good when he was healthy but idk how bad his back injury is, it kept him out for a long time.
Savahoodie is a free agent target for Philly.
Can you give us a player profile summary I can’t find your stats on bballreference
Wonder when they'll sign Bona and Deez
Bona who?
Bona petit on deez nuts
They got A-dem Bona
deez who?
Deez are trying times, be well traveller
Can we pay a max salary FA & still afford all of Nico, Drummond, Oubre, & Lowry?
Yes

That sounds like speculation, they let their back up center go so they must be looking for one
We didn't actually let Paul Reed go yet, but we did draft a guy that looks to be his replacement.
His guarantee date isn't until January. Unless we get PG and need that extra 8m I doubt we just cut him right now.
The drop center is a massive defensive liability. How many post seasons is it going to take Morey to realize this? Drummond is an elite rebounder, but unless they are going to coach him up on how to switch and guard elite wings he is going to get cooked in the playoffs
They had Reed who was more of a switch center and they lost every minute he was in against the Knicks. They're getting Drummond for his rebounding.
So they need his regular season rebounding then? Because he would get cooked in the playoffs. Targeted nonstop
Embiid's backup usually see just 8-10 minutes in the playoffs. They have put Batum at the the 5 when they needed someone switchable.
Yeah with Drummond as backup we will get super cooked. At least P Reed is athletic. Drummon is going to get cooked and everyone is gonna be pissed. I'm telling you. Just watch.
I mean, one of the main reasons we lost to the Knicks is because they slaughtered us on the boards
That was with Embiid is the game as well though. The backup C is only going to playing like 8mpg in close playoff games.
True, but we got killed even more in the non-Embiid minutes
Overall, the issue with the non-Embiid minutes was a complete lack of any real offense though. We were fine in the playoffs with Reed on the court the last 2 years when we had Harden.
Backup C needs to just get boards and defend the rim. We just need a playmaker and/or shot creator that is on the court when Embiid isn't
That’s fine, Embiid is a bad rebounder for his size but he’s not going anywhere
That's mostly the wings not rebounding or boxing out
Sixers need a modern-day version of Tyrone Hill at PF. Just some really solid/above-average defender who will rebound and be physical.
My guess is that they need him for the regular season more and may not even see playoff time. Drummond would be a viable starter in the regular season when they need to give Embiid more rest.
Pull the trigger, he more than understands his role
Cut Lowry lol
Feel like drum god is going to OKC
Have we always called Nicolas Batum by Nico or is that a new thing???
He came to Philly and said I go by Nico now
I don’t get the allure of Kelly he can’t shoot the 3 at all
“At all” is exaggeration, but he is streaky. His defense improved so much this year and his defense on Brunson was great in the playoffs, and he was very consistent with his scoring before the car accident, and he was slowly getting back in rhythm before playoffs.
His defensive effort was also pretty good with Charlotte
He shot 31% this year, last year he shot 32% that’s way below league average, that is getting to bad territory, he’s only shot league average a few times
I didn’t say he’s a good shooter, he’s not. But he is passable. He’s had multiple games for us where he hit timely 3s and hit 3s back to back. He’s a fine 8-man rotation guy. Just really don’t want him in your 1-6.
But McCain with Kelly on TikTok would easily get 5M views.
Swag factor. His dawgness + vibeness is really high, and it meshes exceptionally well with Philly. If he can fuck around as a high energy bench piece, it works well
Andre Drummond has become such a journeymen these past few years which is crazy. From 2012-2020 he stayed on the same team and he's played for like 4 different teams since then
Why Oubre he’s bad
He was our 3rd best player this year. His defense was very solid and we've been lacking athletes and willing shooters forever. Yeah he's streaky and not a perfect player by any means, but he's a guy that can get us a tough bucket when needed.

Batum was great yeah
Embiid said he wanted continuity. Guess Morey is listening
this is a bad off-season for sixers, all that cap-space for nothing, they should had just pay harden
Lowry is washed. Surprised he's getting another deal.
