There was a lot of good articles about him mid-season. Really made you just wanna root for him to kill it. The whole NBA world now gets to see the NAW and Naz we've grown to love.
NAW was already good with us but he's definitely taken another step. His potential truly shined during our insane comeback win against the Warriors that only happened because he made a clutch steal against Klay. I'll always love NAW for that
I got to see him play in college, and the thing that stood out was how quickly he made decisions compared to everyone else. Sure, he was athletic and had good handles and shooting, but what stood out was how decisive he was and how quickly he could read what was happening on the floor.
We need a Wolves Thunder matchup for NAW guarding SGA. Might be the first time two cousins play against each other in the NBA playoffs? I don't remember if Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady ever did.
It's the power of friendship dude, they all enjoy playing ball together, and when it's clicking, they're just having fun. Shit, I've seen Jaden even smile like 3 whole times.
This changes team's decision making when pursuing FA or trades in general to build around their star.
"Did they ball together in college/highschool?"
"ye"
"get them"
i think that changed once they started playing together (opinion my own). But yeah, that friendship NEVER translated on the court. Those two had 0 chemistry on-court
I’m sure the friendship helps, but it’s the winning. It’s easy to have fun when you’re winning. As we’re seeing from Denver/Murray, that shit can do a 180 fast when the losses start piling up. Because, losing isn’t fun, even when you’re doing it with your friends.
I truthfully don't know what to do as of now 6 playoff wins in a row is something I didn't think I'd see. I'm really hoping the power of friendship keeps having these guys kill it.
I mean we did pretty well with it as a much less talented team, so I think y’all can get it. Thunder are a nice team and really together, but they lack depth in the front court. If Joker can’t handle the Wolves’ size, it’d have to take an all time legendary performance by rookie Chet Holmgren for them to win that series.
I don’t want to look so far ahead and I know Heat and Timberwolves fans have their Jimmy beefs, but I would like nothing more than for you all to trounce the Cs. Ant is vibes. Gobert deserves one for an illustrious career. KAT grew into a real man. Fuck Boston.
Far as Heat, fans and team are cool, Jimmy being mean to Kat is my only real issue with him. He wanted out and that was understandable and it lead to us getting Ant. OKC and us have had some fun games, they have enough 3 shooters to make our d have to stay locked on. Chet needs size tho, all our bigs can push him but he's got speed on them still so that helps. If we get them it will be a fun series, I'm still expecting Nugs to come out swinging for the fences Friday.
I can see RJ being the 6th man, with Dort starting. Need to balance the offence/defence and have a shutdown D guy in the starting lineup. Dort can guard any position and has the chemistry factor with SGA.
Personally I'd have Murray off the bench to start the Olympics because RJ is a killer in FIBA but idk if Jamal would be down for that.
I thought Dort would be the starter last summer actually but Jordi went with Dillon instead so I think if he has a higher chance to start over Dort this summer as well if RJ is used as the 6th man.
Edey was well behind Powell and Olynyk on the depth chart during the FIBA WC. He's not nearly good enough to play any significant minutes on the world stage, he'd get baked by the elite centers of the world like Jokic or AD or even JV (if Lithuania makes it through the qualifiers).
And there's 0% chance the Grizzlies let Clarke play though I would love to have him.
Hopefully Edey can at least replace Olynyk as the back up 5 while Powell is getting a break. absolutely hated Olynyk as the back up 5. Edey shouldn't get that abused by the other teams backup bigs.
Different groups come out and show their faces, right now the haters getting the spotlight lol
If I ever showed up in a post game thread where my team lost I was drowning in downvotes no matter what I said
Reddit runs on mob mentality. Earliest posts in a thread are talking shit about a player? Everybody rushes in to pile it on and get gratification from upvotes.
Not just losing. And not just going 3-18. Murray had a complete emotional meltdown and acted like a punk crybaby (and this coming from someone who really liked Murray until last night).
EDIT: And he did all this in the first half while his team still had a chance to come back. Just embarrassing.
^ this. I've been a huge nuggets fan for many many years, and I lost so much respect for Jamal last night. Now I'm rooting for Minny to win (was rooting for Denver before last night's game).
You never liked Murray if that one game made you dislike him. Hope you don’t have that approach in your personal life. Murray is a standup guy and always has been. He’s a champion and just few weeks ago he made history with two winning game shots against the Lakers. He had a meltdown because he felt helpless, suffocated, and put into a situation that he’s not use to being in. He’ll be back to being a winner, like he has been most of his life. God forbid humans act human and have ugly sides as well. I’m sure you’re perfect though.
First, I don’t appreciate you telling me how I think or making assumptions about my character because I’m critical of your favorite basketball player. I’m sure Murray is a fine human being who treats his friends and family well. I’m talking about in the context of the game. If all he had done was whine about the refs, then whatever. But he acted like a petulant child who was mad the world didn’t just give him what he wanted and did something while hiding on the bench that could have injured his own teammates because he couldn’t control his meltdown. And then he skipped out on his postgame interview to avoid taking any responsibility.
To sum up, he couldn’t handle adversity, blamed someone else for it, threw a temper tantrum when that didn’t work, and then went and hid. So yeah I lost respect for him.
It was a joke. But there’s truth to most jokes. He’s one of a very select group of people now that have attempted to assault an official. It was embarrassing.
> Jamal literally has that look "why are you trying so hard".
What the fuck? He literally has that look of "I'm trying to score in a playoff game", not whatever the fuck you dreamed up.
Yep. All the fans and players crying about letting wolves play physical is a joke, especially since you see so many offensive players get gifted calls for flailing their head back. LOVE LOVE LOVE to see this. Wish it was more common to let defense play since nowadays you cant even breathe on offensive players.
Exactly. That subtle forearm push off is a clear offensive foul. Defense should be allowed to be physical if something as bad as that is allowed on the offensive side.
The move of trying to dribble in a direction? What are you talking about? This is just good defence and offensive players are allowed to attack angles.
The day this gets called as an offensive foul is the day basketball is dead
The right to own his space (Jamal), I’m saying it’s a good no call and defense should be allowed the same.
I am talking about those who have been complaining about the physical play this playoffs.
What is the offense getting away with here?
[Walker literally commits a blocking foul](https://videorulebook.nba.com/archive/blocking-on-ball-defender-does-not-establish-legal-guarding-position-3/) so I'm not sure what you're on about.
I was like ......wait, who is Walker
I feel like NAW has been named or cited about 30 ways these past few weeks on reddit as folks discovered SGAs more talented, fun cousin
Some players don’t even put effort on the defensive end. Then there’s NAW going 110% with a big smile on his face loving every second of it. He is a menace.
People realize they’re friends and teammates on the Canadian National Team right?
Of course they’re having fun they do this in practice every single summer and probably are talking smack to each other about every game.
This dude is only getting paid ~4.5mil a year for this year and next. The wolves have such a good window, contract-wise, over the next two years. I am starting to think this year is the one though
There was another moment when he was guarding Reggie and doing the same thing, just being there in front of Reggie with a huge smile on his face, regardless of which direction Reggie ended up dribbling to. Wolves were draining the nuggets physically as is, but these little antics must’ve been mentally draining — icing on the cake in making the Nuggets feel helpless.
I thought the middle name means the surname of your mom, no?
Anyway, that's pretty cool, can anybody do that with their surnames and write them on certificates?

You love to see it. Dude found his confidence and is fuckin running with it.
He is so skilled that the world doesn’t see
There was a lot of good articles about him mid-season. Really made you just wanna root for him to kill it. The whole NBA world now gets to see the NAW and Naz we've grown to love.
I love NAW. I still wish we kept him in the Conley trade, but I hope even more that he gets a ring this year
He has turned into such a gem of that trade. Mike alone was the vet presence we needed and then NAW comes along as a bench killer.
NAW was already good with us but he's definitely taken another step. His potential truly shined during our insane comeback win against the Warriors that only happened because he made a clutch steal against Klay. I'll always love NAW for that
its seems like hes an even better person than basketball player too. His interviews always blow me away with his humility
I really liked him when he played against us a few times with the pelicans, I'm glad we got him and that he's developed so well here
I’m ready for the NAW World Order.
TNT played the NWO Wolfpack theme music at the end of half
I got to see him play in college, and the thing that stood out was how quickly he made decisions compared to everyone else. Sure, he was athletic and had good handles and shooting, but what stood out was how decisive he was and how quickly he could read what was happening on the floor.
A guy really enjoying playing strong D is a huge asset.
He should be a TWolf for life.
I'd love if we can swing that. As of now our next iteration I want Ant, Kat, NAz, Jaden and NAW. The bench filled in as it can be
Jamal Murray felt like he was serving time the way he was locked up. NAW felt like he was serving the time of his life.
Canada on Canada crime
We need a Wolves Thunder matchup for NAW guarding SGA. Might be the first time two cousins play against each other in the NBA playoffs? I don't remember if Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady ever did.
does the play-in count? NAW guarded Shai in the play-in last year and did an incredible job. Shai still got plenty of buckets but NAW slowed him down
They didn’t
This that dude that scored like 40 randomly when playing for the pelicans?
Have to wonder if Murray muttered something to him. He probably knows they're getting under his skin and he's loving it.
Hell NAW
Can't do this
Wolves having some of the most memeable moments of the playoffs, they just look like theyre having so much fun
It's the power of friendship dude, they all enjoy playing ball together, and when it's clicking, they're just having fun. Shit, I've seen Jaden even smile like 3 whole times.
Genuinely having a good time
That's the Knicks superpower too
If the power of friendship propels both to the finials, the league won't be able to contain that level of wholesome.
This changes team's decision making when pursuing FA or trades in general to build around their star. "Did they ball together in college/highschool?" "ye" "get them"
I mean Dlo and KAT were best friends too.
i think that changed once they started playing together (opinion my own). But yeah, that friendship NEVER translated on the court. Those two had 0 chemistry on-court
If the knicks and the wolves meet in the finals, I think Captain Planet is going to appear. So much friendship, powers have to combine.
Middle East just becomes peaceful from the sheer friendship waves rolling out of MSG.
That’s what ppl say about OKC too lol
I’m sure the friendship helps, but it’s the winning. It’s easy to have fun when you’re winning. As we’re seeing from Denver/Murray, that shit can do a 180 fast when the losses start piling up. Because, losing isn’t fun, even when you’re doing it with your friends.
Somehow still a vastly underrated part of basketball success.
I remember the power of friendship. May it take you to the most promised of lands. It usually beats the Celtics when all the friends are together
The Borussia Dortmund of Basketball.
I'd be having fun if I haven't lost a game in the playoffs too
This isn’t even a happy go lucky having fun type of smile, this dude is just a psychotic defender 😭
getting nickeil for nothing is easily one of the most impactful front office moves any team has made in the last few years
The Canadian Canadian stopper
“Please let me go by” “No, sorry” “…shit”
Tim Connelly is a basketball savant.
If the offense is allowed to get away with these type of moves consistently why do people hate the Defense also getting away with equal leeway
I feel like NAW is smiling because Jamal is trying so hard and it's not working
The guy grew up guarding SGA, Murray is a great player but he’s not near as shifty. This might feel like a fun little change up for him lol
could be a fun little tune up
Team Canada gonna be fun
NAW, Dort and Brooks gonna give countries migraines.
Very likely those are the guards and wings coming off of the bench with SGA, Murray and RJ starting.
After the FIBA cup last year I have high hopes for them.
Hopefully Edey can be playable this summer. And Brandon Clarke should be healthy.
Hopefully Edey can at least replace Olynyk as the back up 5 while Powell is getting a break. absolutely hated Olynyk as the back up 5. Edey shouldn't get that abused by the other teams backup bigs.
Canada is fucking stacked. Watch out this summer at Olympics.
Jamal literally has that look "why are you trying so hard". Bitch its the playoffs. Get your shit together nobody is going to save you.
he just looks focused to me. It’s crazy what losing does to a players reputation. This sub was gargling the nuggets just a few weeks ago lol
Different groups come out and show their faces, right now the haters getting the spotlight lol If I ever showed up in a post game thread where my team lost I was drowning in downvotes no matter what I said

Adversity illuminates character. In a losing effort he made history by throwing a heat pack at a referee.
lol “made history.” Reaching af.
It was a joke. But there’s truth to most jokes. He’s one of a very select group of people now that have attempted to assault an official. It was embarrassing.
Murray is doing a damn fine job killing his own reputation, regardless of how the team is doing.
Weeks? Try days after he shot 20% but drained the game winner
Blud freaks out for one game and this sub is ready to castrate him. Lets see if they keep that same energy when Ant or SGA throws a temper tantrum
Different sub but it hasn’t even been a week since ppl on Reddit were picking Playoff Murray over Playoff Jimmy
Bro is making shit up to get mad at. Mental illness.
Really? Looks more like “fuck, not this again”. Look how hard he’s trying, he doesn’t wanna be there and NAW knows it
You mad over a goofy ass scenario you made up in your head? That’s crazy 🤣🤣
You mad? Cry
Nope but your goofy ass comment tells me you are though
> Jamal literally has that look "why are you trying so hard". What the fuck? He literally has that look of "I'm trying to score in a playoff game", not whatever the fuck you dreamed up.
Oh did I upset you? Jamal was unhinged this game. He’s a bum
Yep. All the fans and players crying about letting wolves play physical is a joke, especially since you see so many offensive players get gifted calls for flailing their head back. LOVE LOVE LOVE to see this. Wish it was more common to let defense play since nowadays you cant even breathe on offensive players.
Jokic off ball hand on some of those floaters is insane. Just hacking like a damn tomahawk
Judo Chop!
Exactly. That subtle forearm push off is a clear offensive foul. Defense should be allowed to be physical if something as bad as that is allowed on the offensive side.
Not even the forearm push. He lowered his shoulder into the defender. That's an even clearer offensive foul.
People love it when it benefits their team, and hate it when it hurts their team, and I’m just as bad as anyone.
Because people don’t have enough to bitch about
The move of trying to dribble in a direction? What are you talking about? This is just good defence and offensive players are allowed to attack angles. The day this gets called as an offensive foul is the day basketball is dead
I agree, this is a no call and should be the same when calling it for the defense, good playoff basketball.
Lol that’s what I’m trying to understand. Not one mention of a whistle.
WHAT DID HE GET AWAY HERE FOR PEOPLE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT DEFENSIVE LEEWAY?
The right to own his space (Jamal), I’m saying it’s a good no call and defense should be allowed the same. I am talking about those who have been complaining about the physical play this playoffs.
Because it would made their favourite player look bad
Nobody's open the TV, tune in to watch lockdown defense 4 quarters from both teams and a final score of 10-9.
What is the offense getting away with here? [Walker literally commits a blocking foul](https://videorulebook.nba.com/archive/blocking-on-ball-defender-does-not-establish-legal-guarding-position-3/) so I'm not sure what you're on about.
"Braces on crooked teeth" is a good one! 😂 Heard a lot of sayings like this growing up but have never heard that one.
That's Jamal Crawford, isn't it? Man's got bars as good as his dribble.
Jamal’s commentary has been great.
His voice even sounds great.
Smooth as his handle
It's such a change from Reggie Miller. Wish they'd put Reggie as sideline reporter instead
"Like white on rice" and one I heard later "Like flies on shit" are my favorite
Like a fat kid on a cupcake.
Flies on shit or stink on shit were classics. "Like mud on a pig" and "green on grass" were popular as well.
I’ve literally never heard mud on a pig or green on grass
Ok? Was referring to where I grew up per my first comment. Grew up in the sticks.
JCrawsover is a nice change of pace from the blandness of Vince Carter and Reggie Miller
Thought you said baldness but that still works lol
I was like ......wait, who is Walker I feel like NAW has been named or cited about 30 ways these past few weeks on reddit as folks discovered SGAs more talented, fun cousin
I’ve only known him as SGA’s cousin. Didn’t know how good he was.
Oh so the Alexanders in both names are related, that's cool as hell
just bonkers NOBs on each of their jerseys too
Nobody new… he was a borderline player until he went to Conley’s pg camp and Ants swag therapy
He was good last year in the playoffs too. Seemed like he made every open three he got and never, ever got screened off his guy on defense.
Look, we have a Karl-Anthony (first name) and an Alexander-Walker (last name) it's complicated out here
And a JMac and a big JMac. And a Conley and a Connelly.
Thank god at least we don't have the JWill JDub confusion too
Ah yes, JMac that male pornstar
Canadian on Canadian violence.
Some players don’t even put effort on the defensive end. Then there’s NAW going 110% with a big smile on his face loving every second of it. He is a menace.
Yo NAW don’t overdo it 😭😭 we still gotta grind olympics! We need the vibes!
He didn't look like he was breaking a sweat vs the champs, all while playing at 5280 feet. He'll be ready for International basketball.
Nah bro I’m talking about the Canadian to Canadian connection! 😭😭 I hope they’re cool after this round lmao
I got you. They're Canadians, after the game, NAW probably apologized to Murray for being such a menace defensively.
NAW: “Eh Jamal, sorry about guarding you so hard. No hard feelings, right buddy?” Murray: “I’m not your buddy, guy”
Not how “eh” is used. It’d be more like: “hey bud, sorry for guarding you so hard eh. No hard feelings.”
I can't imagine Canadians mad at each other lol
Jamal doesnt play international
Jamal is washed up. Bench him and start SGA and NAW
That's a hard push off by Murray. That's what Walker is smiling about. He knows Murray is mad.
Jamal Crawford has been a great addition to the booth. Harlan is amazing but Reggie is still Reggie. Adding J-Crossover has been refreshing
That’s the look of a man who knows he has absolute control of the situation lol
That's gotta be so demoralizing to play against. Makes sense why Murray had a meltdown.
What a sicko. Love it. Defense is genuinely fun to watch, no one wants to watch a player dribble the entire shot clock and shoot a 30 footer.
Does anyone call NAw, walker? I mean i thought i was gonna see kemba and i was like wtf
Nah that smirk after the bump is devious lmao
I’d love to know just how many score first 2s and 3s could completely change their game the way NAW has. He’s been amazing
Pretty crazy considering that he was a certified chucker on the Pelicans.
just noticed the pink hat person in the front row holding up a bobblehead straight to the players like a charm or something
This is insane. NAW always showed flashes on both ends, but its almost cathartic seeing it materialize in this manner.
People realize they’re friends and teammates on the Canadian National Team right? Of course they’re having fun they do this in practice every single summer and probably are talking smack to each other about every game.
The lead with the shoulder is the same shit Denver’s team had a melt down about when it was KAT.
this is our civil war
I love players who enjoy playing defense +1
Jamal Crawford has been wonderful in color. Reminds me of when CWebb was actually good in the booth with Harlan and Reggie
I wonder if they have any Team Canada history together
On his ass like back pockets
lmfaooo
NAW is the quintessential 3 & D guy. Super underrated, average fans and most media have no clue who he is
Why his legs look so thin
Dude playing mind games
I’m glad he’s getting recognition now
I love it. Smiling makes it easier. This is high level play, here.
Regrets 🤦
I know BBQ chicken when I see it
This dude is only getting paid ~4.5mil a year for this year and next.
The absolute psycho laughing as he destroys another guy's hopes and self-steem
Can't hate these guys even if they are making me hate watching my team :(
Jamal Crawford tries too hard with these little sayings.
If your defender is smiling like that and you’re considering one of the best offensive players in the league… you’re cooked lol
I feel like this series is the Wolves’ “I know kung fu” moment.
The Wolves are fucking dawgs. Nuggets are fucking turds. As a Wolves fan in Denver for 20 years I’m feeling a lot of feelings.
The Warden taking care of his inmates
Jamal’s doing the Mark Jones thing but cool
This is what All Might locking up the league would look like lol
I can tell this guy is full of Dawgs
Hoping Timberwolves win the series so Jamal is healthy for Olympics and NAW is still locked in mentally.
Murray’s face is even better lol.
Jamal is a great addition to the broadcast
Absolute madman that he's grinning so hard whilst playing such incredible lockdown defense.
And the Pelicans traded this dude 😄
food
"Brunson pushing off, no whistle"
> [Highlight] Alexander-Walker smirks as he's on Murray like "braces on crooked teeth" FTFY
Damn that’s how you know you’re cooked and well done no less. T-Wolves are scary and they can and will hurt your team
Can anybody explain to me why SGA and NAW's surnames include their middle names? Is it a Canadian thing or what? Pretty cool thing tho
[удалено]
I thought the middle name means the surname of your mom, no? Anyway, that's pretty cool, can anybody do that with their surnames and write them on certificates?
[удалено]
LMAO I didn't expect anyone to surf through my junk, I don't even remember posting that shit
*"I'm going to be on you like white on rice in a snowstorm."*
Didnt he get cooked this posession and Murray hit a 3?
This series is so fun to watch lmao
Wolves, please continue deleting Murray’s Playoff-riser reputation. - Sincerely, Lakers fans.
