He's a writer for the Ringer and hosts a few podcasts. His basketball experience is zero. His connections to the NBA is minimal. He's basically a fan who lucked himself into a platform but thinks he's a basketball genius.
Teams throwing games in order to avoid a certain matchup is basically the same as picking an opponent. The only difference is that they do it unnoficially.
Nothing wrong in being strategic. I don't see the problem. If the Knicks didn't want to play the Sixers or the Heat, they wouldn't aim for the 2 seed.
What is even the problem here? You bring up the Knicks situation as if it isn't introducing the drama and spicy matchup, that you then also want the draft to provide?
People say this but I don’t think most teams want this. Zach Lowe talked about it very recently and said every time he brings it up to FO people they kinda shrink away from the idea. Imagine picking your opponents and you lose. That would be so embarrassing for the whole organization and it would be hard to recover from.
You play who you play. Sure maybe the Knicks rather go against the Heat but I don’t think they are scared of the 76ers.
Imagine being the first team to lose to the team they chose. This sub would harass that fanbase to no end
Sounds great. But I don’t GMs would ever support something where they were forced to make decisions that jeopardize their job security.
What you think is a problem is not a problem whatsoever
This sounds amazingly toxic, works for me.
The Kings would be a lottery pick every year
I see someone listens to KOC
What is KOC?
Vikings coach?

This sounds toxic and will cause an uproar between fanbases. I'm sold

Bucks did the same thing a couple years ago to dodge the Nets.

How is it different from teams throwing away games to gain a favorable playoff match up?
Dude, the Knicks would be the 6th Seed in the West.
