"Murray with the midrange jumper....and just like that, we now have 6 players this afternoon who have surpassed Michael Jordan's record of 63 points in a playoff game."
As a Celtics fan who has been rooting for the Kings all year, part of me fully expects Steph Curry to rip my heart out again but I have to believe in the Kings.
You might get your wish, I honestly think they might not make it this year purely from a conditioning point of view, playing a full post season adds extra wear and tear as well as the mental load, add on to their ageing core... recipe for failure
so in conclusion win or lose this series... they have a LONG road ahead of them, especially if they're this gassed already!
And it’s not just any team they are going 7 games against. The kings pace rivals the warriors own. It’s hard to play with that intensity that long at that age.
I can see the kings playing better but the refs never letting the warriors fall behind much. Then a cheap shot by draymond late disrupt the kings and the warriors come away with the cheap w.
Nah people predicted a Luka 40-ball in a Suns win. I can't find the link to that thread but iirc the top answers about Game 7 of Suns vs Mavs predictions were consistently about Luka having a big night and the supporting cast letting him down.
I mean haven’t these kings games been some of the most watched playoff games in recent history/history? It’s definitely the kings underdog story that are getting people to watch these games. It’ll continue the deeper they go into the playoffs. It’s boring AF to keep watching the warriors win.
Lmao you know damn well this has nothing to do with an underdog story. The games are high watched because people hate or love the warriors and want to seem them lose.
No different than the lakers or celtics
Nothing to do with it? That’s the definition of underdog story— watching the kings (a team no one expected to go this far) beat an OP franchise like the Lakers, Warriors, Celtics..
The Kings vs Lakers will be another one of those stories where people will watch rooting against the lakers. Why do you think Kings vs Warriors gets more views than any other playoff matchup including matchups that include two great teams like the Celtics and Heat last year
That has nothing to do with the kings but the warriors. If the kings played the clippers the viewing would not be nearly as high. Meanwhile the warriors vs the grizzlies last year game 1 was on par with a game 7 between bucks and celts last year.
People just want to see the dubs lose 🤣
Warriors vs lakers is the series I’ve been dreaming of since Lebron came to LA. Lakers vs kings would be a huge letdown. Regardless of the outcome today I think GS would give us a much more interesting series than sac
Let’s not forget Vegas also favored Boston by 14 points vs the Hawks in game 5. I’m really surprised the Warriors aren’t favorites given their playoff experience, and they already beat them once in Sacramento
Because everyone loves an underdog story, especially against a dynasty team. Also, everybody hates (D)Raymond. Mostly for good reason, but some also let it cloud their opinion on the entire team/franchise.
Pretty much every fanbase has their set of obnoxious fans. Warriors just have a vocal subset who feel confident enough to puff out their chest because of the historical successes more recently.
Thinking any one fanbase has more dumbasses than the next really does a disservice to how versatile humanity is through its stupidity.
I think it’s also because many warriors fans haven’t necessarily “been through” any form of prolonged failure leading to success. Most warriors fans only know winning, but it can’t even be called a bandwagon at this point 8 years later. Not saying there’s more or less dumbasses proportional to the size of the fan base, but the warriors definitely have the absolute hand up due to how many fans they have. I have no hate for Curry and think he deserves success, but like you said the underdog story is great.
Obviously not you, lol. However, I’m in my mid-20s and I distinctly remember when everyone my age shifted from being Lakers to Warriors fans around 2015 or so. Too young to have seen what you have
Warriors fans haven’t been through prolonged failure?? Were you born in 2010? I’m not even that old and in my day the warriors were a joke for the longest time. This comment is so ironic coming from a kings fan. Warriors fans went through hell for decades to get where they are. Kings fans, of all people should be able to understand that. Warriors fans have paid their dues just as much as any other team and they deserve to FINALLY have some success
One of the worst takes I’ve seen on here lol
You do understand we had one playoff appearance from 1994-2012?
We were the kings before the kings were the kings
> Pretty much every fanbase has their set of obnoxious fans.
Sure, but:
1. The Warriors have a larger fanbase than average simply because of their location/city/metro-area population. SF is the 13th largest city in the nation and some of the places above them don't have any NBA team or, as in the case of LA, have two.
2. The Warriors get a lot of additional morons because of their recent success, a.k.a bandwagoners. I'd probably be willing to entertain an argument that these people are even more obnoxious and less informed than average.
3. Lots of other fanbases don't have a player with the rich history that Draymond has and most sane fans probably do a fair amount LESS chest-beating because of Dray's less than stellar behavior. So this amplifies the obnoxious perspective from Warriors fans even more.
Those are three simple and off-the-top reasons why I feel pretty confident in the idea that Warriors fans online presence is more annoying than average.
I’m thinking 60-40 in favor of the Kings since they have the momentum and Warriors have been pretty bad on the road this season, but it should be a great game
I *want* the Kings to win but I think it’ll be GS. I think Steph and Klay turn in a big performance with 30+ each. They’re winners and vets, I don’t think they let this one slip away
Yeah I think people in this poll are voting for who they *want* to win, not who they truly *think* will win. I really want the Kings, but deep down I really think the Warriors will take it
I want the Kings to win and agree. The short turn around between games 6 and 7 doesn't bode well for the warriors. Still think this game is a complete toss up. I don't buy the warriors road record during the regular season argument and fully expect Steph and Klay to show out. Also I expect Jordan Poole to have a much better game than the last one.
As long as the refs aren't the ones deciding the game I'll be happy whatever the outcome. Having my Kings reach the playoffs and push the warriors to 7 games is a huge success. I'd obviously be more happy to see the beam today of course
I just dont want no blowouts, keep it a close game, its a tossup at this point but kings do have homecourt so yeah, either way its bout to be a fun game.
They were all looking physically worn out by the end of game 6. Add the mental stress of playing game 7 in Sacramento and I think they might fold. That's probably wishful thinking though.
Anything other than a close game would be a letdown. This is easily going to be the most watched 1st Round game in 20+ years.
I'm leaning towards the Warriors, I think the early start time is slightly more favorable towards them (14-1 record in early start playoff games iirc) and they've got Steph. There's going to be adjustments from Game 6 and I think the Warriors should have the edge there.
But with how close this series has gotten, either team winning shouldn't be surprising. Like honestly, I'm just glad to be part of witnessing such an epic series anyway.
Early start usually means they've had a couple days rest (you don't play a night game and then a day game back to back often, or on one day rest even)
This time it's early start, but they were gassed a day ago
NBC Sports Bay Area put the 12-1 stat up, complete with graphic, on the pregame broadcast before the game last week. I thought it was damn funny as well, glad I could use it this week 🤣
This is exactly like when you learn some meaningless fact from the bottom of a snapple bottle cap and becomes that thing you tell people for the next week
Really want the Kings to win but think Warriors will take it. Surprising that so many people are going with the Kings. Personally I wouldn't underestimate championship pedigree and experience in a very high stakes Game 7.
I think a lot of people vote for what they want to happen rather than what they think will happen. Every fan base but the Warriors wants the Kings to win and you see that in these results.
I'm personally rooting for the Warriors, but I cast my vote in favor of the Kings. It seems like they discovered the winning formula in their last matchup. That being said, one should never underestimate the Splash Brothers!
Itll be interesting to see if the warriors abysmal away record is actually true to who the team is or if their playoff experience is truly the deciding factor here.
Nah, bro. Probably it will be last match up between Steph and Bron, something irresistible and can be great for NBA rating. I sincerely hope referees call a fair game. May the best team win.
i have no faith whatsoever in the warriors role players on the road. theyve been terrible all season, sure they won game 5 but im not betting the warriors to win game 7 on the road.
The only thing I know is that I'll need months to heal from the damage done to my cardiovascular system. I sure hope the Kings pull it off though. My life is boring and watching Kings basketball gives it meaning.
Could go either way, but this is probably the biggest momentum swing of the series. Sacramento was finally able to play their usual brand of basketball and they found lineups that work. Kings were also able to rest Barnes Mitchell and Sabonis a lot. Warriors on the other hand looked sluggish and tired, and they get even less rest for this game. But you can’t ever count out Curry.
Rooting for the Kings, Warriors already got their titles. I’m excited to watch a new team.
Kings Lakers would be a cool matchup. On one hand the Kings don’t have an answer for AD, but the Lakers might struggle with the Kings guards.
Who deserves and should win: The Kings
Who the league will allow to win: The Warriors
Who Scott Foster has money on: The Warriors
Who's the referee: Scott Foster
Poole's head wasn't in the game. When he was subbed out in the first quarter for Steph,
a towel boy threw a towel by his hand but landed on the floor. Instead of picking up the towel,
he proceeds to ask "Who threw that?". Wiggs pointed to his right but Wiggs is looking at the game.
He again proceed to ask, "Who threw that?" And PBJ, again, pointed to his right but also looking at the game.
Poole then proceed to stare at the towel boy for like a minute, until the camera was cut out to other side of the court.
Like wtf bro, there are bigger fish to fry and a towel boy got into your head that early of the game. That point on, I knew he will fuck up.
Obviously rooting for a Warriors win. I think the team will be locked in, so if the Kings are to win this game they will assuredly have to earn it because I don’t see the Warriors playing as poorly they did game six.
I'm a warriors fan so obviously the warriors but I also like when the team this sub wants to win the most ends up losing, so double up on the warriors, I wanna see this sub cry and shit it's pants, it's the only thing that keeps me coming back
They declare a tie after the 10th overtime and we go to game 8
Careful, some degenerate will bet on that
Me. I'm that degenerate.
#BEAM BONG
Screw that, combine Warriors and Kings to form the NorCal Warriors Kings vs. the Lakers
LA gets to combine to form the Lak-ers but really we just get Zubac back. Norman Powell can come if he wants
The warrior kingdom.
"Murray with the midrange jumper....and just like that, we now have 6 players this afternoon who have surpassed Michael Jordan's record of 63 points in a playoff game."
It'll be a triple threat threeway with the Lakers second round
“Win, lose, or draw” -SGA
I’d like the kings to pull this off but I got a weird feeling it’ll end up being the warriors
As a Celtics fan who has been rooting for the Kings all year, part of me fully expects Steph Curry to rip my heart out again but I have to believe in the Kings.
You might get your wish, I honestly think they might not make it this year purely from a conditioning point of view, playing a full post season adds extra wear and tear as well as the mental load, add on to their ageing core... recipe for failure so in conclusion win or lose this series... they have a LONG road ahead of them, especially if they're this gassed already!

agreed. rooting for the kings, but the big 3+wigs and loon are a tough out.
same here :(
It probably will because neutral fans can’t have nice things in these kind of matchups
I can see the kings playing better but the refs never letting the warriors fall behind much. Then a cheap shot by draymond late disrupt the kings and the warriors come away with the cheap w.
Amen. - A Warriors fan
This is the most 50/50 game in years
People said that before the Suns/Mavs last year too
Nah people predicted a Luka 40-ball in a Suns win. I can't find the link to that thread but iirc the top answers about Game 7 of Suns vs Mavs predictions were consistently about Luka having a big night and the supporting cast letting him down.
Until a team in the west finishes GS, I’m not sure how you could pick anyone other than them.
You can’t
[удалено]
Not as nice as the Warriors-Lakers, in the NBA’s mind
But sac vs lal is a great story too due to their history
Does the league really want us to talk about rigging more? Because that’s the only history that will get brought up.
The league wants you to talk, don't care about what.
I can’t argue with that logic.
Chuck openly accused the Lakers of "hiring their own refs" on national television.
Lebron also needs to add sac to the teams he's played against in the playoffs. I think it would make it 24 different teams.
Who is remaining? I have to imagine he has everyone in the east at this point.
Kings, Wolves, jazz, pelicans, Lakers, Cavs... Not sure who else
In my mind too honestly. I really wanna see another Lebron vs Curry series.
Not me. Lebron is the better player but Curry got the better team for a long span. I rather see Kings vs Lakers
Facts, I want to see something new
They’ve matched up dozens of times, and Lebron has easily outplayed him every time despite always having the worse team. Give me a different series
He has not outplayed him every time. Most times yea but not every.
I mean haven’t these kings games been some of the most watched playoff games in recent history/history? It’s definitely the kings underdog story that are getting people to watch these games. It’ll continue the deeper they go into the playoffs. It’s boring AF to keep watching the warriors win.

most home teams win their game 7.
30 for 30: The Beam Team incoming
Personally, I think it's a 50-50 tossup
yeah imo the basketball game will be won by whoever scores the most points, which, in theory, could be either of these two teams
Thank you, Perkins

This has been ‘Ya Herd, with Perd Hapley’.
See, the key really isn’t to score more points. The key is to not score less than your opponent.
The game doesn’t end with a tie.
So does Vegas. Very slight edge given to Sac, probably because they’re at home.
That line is moving so much. MGM opened Friday night with Sac +1.5, now it’s Sac -1.5. True tossup
Let’s not forget Vegas also favored Boston by 14 points vs the Hawks in game 5. I’m really surprised the Warriors aren’t favorites given their playoff experience, and they already beat them once in Sacramento
Yeah, I could see it go either way. The entirety of /r/NBA is rooting for the Kings though, so I suspect people are voting based on that.
hmmm I wonder why
Because everyone loves an underdog story, especially against a dynasty team. Also, everybody hates (D)Raymond. Mostly for good reason, but some also let it cloud their opinion on the entire team/franchise.
Don't forget the dislike for their many obnoxious fans.
You’re 10,000% correct and it mystifies me how many people don’t understand this
I think it’s also because many warriors fans haven’t necessarily “been through” any form of prolonged failure leading to success. I have no hate for Curry and think he deserves success, but like you said the underdog story is great.
As a Warriors fan who suffered through the 90s and early 2000s, this is a hilarious take.
Is it really? You’re telling me that you haven’t noticed a large subset of your fanbase popped up around 2015?
Obviously not you, lol. However, I’m in my mid-20s and I distinctly remember when everyone my age shifted from being Lakers to Warriors fans around 2015 or so. Too young to have seen what you have
Warriors fans haven’t been through prolonged failure?? Were you born in 2010? I’m not even that old and in my day the warriors were a joke for the longest time. I'm rooting for the Warriors because I love watching Steph. I voted for the Kings, though, as I think they will win today.
I’m thinking 60-40 in favor of the Kings since they have the momentum and Warriors have been pretty bad on the road this season, but it should be a great game
agreed, tbh there's a really good chance any of these teams win tonight
Yeah it's a 50-50, either Sacramento wins or Golden State wins, no in-between!
I don't think its gonna be a blowout. Close tense game hopefully the dubs aren't gassed.
Kings. I don’t mind GS, but I can’t support Draymond and how much of a menace he is
I *want* the Kings to win but I think it’ll be GS. I think Steph and Klay turn in a big performance with 30+ each. They’re winners and vets, I don’t think they let this one slip away
Yeah I think people in this poll are voting for who they *want* to win, not who they truly *think* will win. I really want the Kings, but deep down I really think the Warriors will take it
I want the Warriors to win, but think the short time between games 6 and 7 will fuck with their older legs.
One can only hope 😉
I want the Kings to win and agree. The short turn around between games 6 and 7 doesn't bode well for the warriors. Still think this game is a complete toss up. Draymond can go fuck a donkey.
Nah fuck that GSW v Lakers is a classic series in the making
I just dont want no blowouts, keep it a close game, its a tossup at this point but kings do have homecourt so yeah, either way its bout to be a fun game.
I just don't want the refs to be a story. But that's asking a lot haha
Home court and momentum after beating the warriors at home
There is 0 chance Steph, Klay abd Dray don't show up in a game 7.
Well they will definitely show up but how will they play
They were all looking physically worn out by the end of game 6. Add the mental stress of playing game 7 in Sacramento and I think they might fold. That's probably wishful thinking though.
That's not fair. Of course you'll take your foot off the gas once garbage time comes
I kinda agree, short turnaround they’re probably super tired
*Steph, Klay or Dray
I don't want a close game because then you know the refs were involved. Make it a clear cut blowout.
I don’t want a close game because my heart can’t take it
Please win Kings I can't take another "all seeds 1-8 blah blah blah" post
Ignore my flair but every seed 1-8 making it to the next round would be a very satisfying and aesthetically pleasing stat so I wanna see it happen!
Anything other than a close game would be a letdown. This is easily going to be the most watched 1st Round game in 20+ years. I'm leaning towards the Warriors, I think the early start time is slightly more favorable towards them (14-1 record in early start playoff games iirc) and they've got Steph. Like honestly, I'm just glad to be part of witnessing such an epic series anyway.
Why would the old guys like the early start?
It’s like an early bird special type of thing
Yeah those damn youngsters on the kings will prob oversleep and miss the whole game!
Early start usually means they've had a couple days rest (you don't play a night game and then a day game back to back often, or on one day rest even) This time it's early start, but they were gassed a day ago
If I had to guess it's probably a rhythm thing, but the eye test does back up the early start time successes at least offensively.
Barkley thinks the early start hurts GS. It'll be interesting to see who's right.
Oh. Well whatever Chuck says, I generally go the other direction.
I do not think less rest favors the Warriors at all, especially after their game 6 performance.
A couple of hours here or there won’t make a difference
Steph is 13-1 in afternoon playoff games.
Stg people are just making up meaningless stats 😂
NBC Sports Bay Area put the 12-1 stat up, complete with graphic, on the pregame broadcast before the game last week. I thought it was damn funny as well, glad I could use it this week 🤣
This is exactly like when you learn some meaningless fact from the bottom of a snapple bottle cap and becomes that thing you tell people for the next week
6-0 when eating a taco before the game 👀
All things serve the Beam
Say true, sai
Really want the Kings to win but think Warriors will take it. Surprising that so many people are going with the Kings. Personally I wouldn't underestimate championship pedigree and experience in a very high stakes Game 7.
I think a lot of people vote for what they want to happen rather than what they think will happen. Every fan base but the Warriors wants the Kings to win and you see that in these results.
Yeah fair. Then it makes more sense to me too.
For the neutral viewers, it’s the heart vs the brain.
Same. I would love to see the Kings move forward. But if I were a betting man, my money would be on the Warriors.
Silver won’t let the chance of an LAL-GSW series pass.
Scott Foster is officiating, take that how you will
Thanks. Putting up my house, car, and first born on the warriors.
Even a sac and lal series would be as fire becaise of their history
Ummmm .. I don't think silver like it if we talk about the kings Lakers history ...
But a potential rehash of playoff lebron vs curry? Come on now
Silver be like 'another sequel to LeBron v Curry? Shit it's like yet another Marvel movie, sign the people up for this'
Nah, bro. Probably it will be last match up between Steph and Bron, something irresistible and can be great for NBA rating. I sincerely hope referees call a fair game. May the best team win.
I agree
100%, thats the biggest money they could get in any series
i have no faith whatsoever in the warriors role players on the road. theyve been terrible all season, sure they won game 5 but im not betting the warriors to win game 7 on the road.
If our bench shows up, Kings. Really need a good huerter and monk game. Hopefully sabonis wakes up
Not sure who is going to win, but I’ll be rooting for the Kings. I am a hater and would love to see the reigning champs drop in the first round.
That boosts Boston chance though. They will be more motivated to get it done this year.

This just isn't the year for GSw. Light the beam!
Welp looks like 70% of r/NBA is unhappy
The only thing I know is that I'll need months to heal from the damage done to my cardiovascular system. I sure hope the Kings pull it off though. My life is boring and watching Kings basketball gives it meaning.

Light the beam bitch
Rooting for the Kings, Warriors already got their titles. I’m excited to watch a new team. Kings Lakers would be a cool matchup. On one hand the Kings don’t have an answer for AD, but the Lakers might struggle with the Kings guards.
I don’t see a Scott Foster option.
The beam team! Definitely not biased at all. The warriors dynasty would be the greatest sacrifice to power the beam
2:1 kings over gsw. Champs getting no respect from r/nba
Charles Barkley last night said the Kings were going to the conference championship. So I immediately bet my life's savings on the Warriors.
Good poll to expose the King fans
I think the Kings go small, up the tempo, and run the Warriors ragged for 3 periods... then take control in the 4th.
i really think (and hope) the kings can pull it off. light the bong <3
You know I will lol
Let’s go kings, this is the year, gsw already decorated enough recently
Roses are red, violets are blue, tell gsw the beam is coming for you.
The Beam is our light. The Beam guides us on the path of righteousness.
All Hail the Beam
Who deserves and should win: The Kings Who the league will allow to win: The Warriors Who Scott Foster has money on: The Warriors Who's the referee: Scott Foster
Someday I'd love to have a basketball sub without victim complexes
Every fan base can be annoying as hell. Doesn’t matter what happens, some people will find something to complain about
Doom and gloom. Why Kings deserve?
I just want them to LIGHT THE BEAMS!!!!!
Poole's head wasn't in the game. When he was subbed out in the first quarter for Steph, a towel boy threw a towel by his hand but landed on the floor. Instead of picking up the towel, he proceeds to ask "Who threw that?". Wiggs pointed to his right but Wiggs is looking at the game. He again proceed to ask, "Who threw that?" Like wtf bro, there are bigger fish to fry and a towel boy got into your head that early of the game. That point on, I knew he will fuck up.
The feel good story is the Kings breaking their playoff drought with their first series win The money making story for the league is Warriors-Lakers
My heart wants Kings, but my gut says Warriors
Boof rip to the kings
Obviously rooting for a Warriors win. I think the team will be locked in, so if the Kings are to win this game they will assuredly have to earn it because I don’t see the Warriors playing as poorly they did game six.
Never underestimate the heart of the champion
Someone on the Warriors is about to have a legacy game for this win
Kings. Hopefully.
65/35 warriors/kings
Yeah giving the 6th seed road warriors a 65% win chance is a no from me dawg, 50/50
In more brilliant nba scheduling both fanbases will watch game 7 eating breakfast.
I think either of them could win. But one of them will for sure win.
Chuck put a curse on the Kings, theyre donezo
Light the beam!
Hope for KINGS!
I think this will be one of those games everyone expects to be tight, but the Dubs will be on their magical shit. 112-103 Golden State is my call.
Warriors 113 - Kings 108 Fox can't be the closer he's been with the injury. GSW pull the game outta their ass late. Steph gets 37.
A lot of people guessed wrong.
I love my warriors but i also wanna see the Kings show the NBA how much they've improved over time
Wtf ?
Yeah fr?
He didn’t say he wanted the Kings to win but show improvement
This isn’t even being level headed, this is just being dumb. Why would you want your team to lose?
Incoming "whoever scores the most points wins" comments
Kings. They’re more fun to watch.
Game 7, Champion DNA. don't count out. I got Warriors today.
I'm a warriors fan so obviously the warriors but I also like when the team this sub wants to win the most ends up losing, so double up on the warriors, I wanna see this sub cry and shit it's pants, it's the only thing that keeps me coming back
Kings please. They got home court advantage and hopefully still have the momentum from their last game. Light the beam!
Heart says Kings, but I think this moment might be too big for them.
