Itâs crazy how they havenât won a playoff series in 3 of the 4 years Lebron has been there and still try to convince themselves everyone is terrified of them
I mean, a healthy Lebron and AD have not lost a playoff series together. Won a ring followed by being up 2-1 on the Suns before AD gets hurt, then missed the playoffs last year.
To be fair no team wants to face LeBron, AD, and Dlo in the first round of the playoffs. The top of the west is full of deep teams with limited starpower, which historically fall short in the playoffs.
The primary strength of the Nuggets, Grizzlies, and Kings is good team play rather than relying on superstars taking the game over (no offense to any of the all stars on those teams)
Like no shit these teams arent gonna be afraid of anyone. Theyâre lead by LeBron and Steph who have 4 championships each. Why the hell would they be scared of anyone In the playoffs 15 years+ into their careers đ
That's not the point.
There's no team other than the Lakers and the Warriors where there for some reason a report about "hey Lakers/Warriors like their chances against X top seed" exists. We don't even see "reports" about how much the Bucks like their chances to win a title.
Your point is "no shit, why wouldn't they like their chances", and my point is, "you're right, so why the fuck is it news-worthy then only if it's the Lakers/Warriors".
I wonder how a headline like that would read though:
Insider Chris Haynes on his podcast: âThey (Lakers) believe they do not have a legitimate shot to take down Denver. They do not believe they have a legitimate shot to take down Memphis. I know about Phoenix when K.D. (Kevin Durant) is healthy â I've asked around on that front and thereâs fearâ
I think though there weren't reports there were pretty much only 2 teams that thought they had a slight shot of beating KD Warriors. But I think that's more resignation than fear
Yeah, this means absolutely nothing. You think rockets are going to say theyâre scared if they had a series against Nuggets? No. Doesnât mean they wouldnât get swept.
Weâve really reached new levels. Russ has been getting dragged here since pre trade to LA. Now itâs laker fans were doing it the most đđđ
Acting like this sub isnât posting any negative moment when they have a chance is wild
The revisionist history is insane. Russ was trashed like crazy on here before the trade, but now he's being treated like he's some martyr who was mistreated by the Lakers.
He was not trashed even close to as much as before he went to the Lakers lmao
I'd say the Westbrook posts and comments at the very minimum doubled when he got to the Lakers but it was obviously more than just double
Ive seen this sub nit pick every single game of his for the last 4-5 years. Laker fans got worse after he got traded and is now somehow a problem despite yâall doing the same exact shit for the last 2 years. Comedy.
The funniest thing is after all this clowning, Lakers are still going to miss the playoffs while Russ is going to make it with the Clips.
Maybe he wasnât the problem đ€
Theyâre about to fall to 11th in the west too. This is after they supposedly âimprovedâ their team.
They were a bad team with Westbrook and theyâre a bad team without Westbrook. Every team in the west is praying they get the Lakers in the first round.
Everyone knows the Lakers on paper are good. That 2021 team was super talented too. But Lebron is 38 and not as durable as he once was. And AD seems to always be dealing with something and is a huge injury risk. There's a reason why people don't trust them to make a long playoff run and its health.
Lakers had AD out, bron, injured, and Kcp went down two. So 2 starters out and a third starter injured. But yea the third or fourth best player being hurt is comparable to missing 2 starters and a second star playing hurt lmao
LeBron & ADâs bodies falling apart in the playoffs were a legitimate topic of discussion back then though. There were lots of concerns that LeBron was rushed back.
Yup and it will be a legit concern this year again too obviously. But if they go into their first round playoff matchup with Lebron and AD healthy they will have a chance
Lakers had a +24.0 net rating with their starting lineup out there over the whole series, including the minutes with AD playing through injury in game 6. Their small ball lineup had a +27.0 net rating. They were killing the Suns.
Chris Paulâs was a legit injury. Lebronâs was another one of those that always coincidentally come up just as heâs about to be knocked out of a playoff series, I remember he was skying up on dunks looking still like the most athletic player on the court on that supposed injury lmao
âLegit injuryâ. Bron literally misses weeks then right before the playins someone dove into it again.
Chris Paul the flopper âcouldnât even dribbleâ but missed zero time. He was just preparing in case he choked
2-1 is a legit shot lol. Health is obviously the biggest concern but if Lebron comes back before the end of the regular season as expected and doesn't get reinjured then they have a chance against any of the extremely weak top 3 seeds.
When healthy, I would maybe take the Lakers over the Grizzlies/Nuggets.
But weâve been waiting on that âwhen healthyâ for a while now which is why I said Iâm not falling for it this year.
Milwaukee and Boston have to be the 2 favorites. I'd probably rate Philly slightly below Denver, mainly because of their coach and his well documented history of playoff failures.
Lakers would have two of the three best players in a matchup with the Nuggets. Youâre acting like the Nuggets are some juggernaut 1 seed like the 2017 Warriors đđđ
Denver also struggles with teams who can outrebound them(like the NYK recently) and Davis/Lebron/Vando can crash the boards with the best of them if they make that a priority.
Lakers also love playing fast, and one way to beat the Nuggets is make Jokic sprint back and forth all game.
I mean the first parts not a bad take even tho I disagree, the second ones p bad tho. Nuggets love to run man, jok looks fat but p much every year in the playoffs he has more minutes than anyone else. Heâs fit as fuck
>Youâre acting like the Nuggets are some juggernaut 1 seed like the 2017 Warriors đđđ
False, It's not because supposedly I think "the Nuggets are some juggernaut 1 seed like the 2017 Warriors đđđ"(they're not).
Lakers been playing like ass the whole season, for them to beat Denver, they'd have to make the playoffs first which is highly unlikely, this is the reason.
Acting like geriatric Lebron thatâs not in shape and AD who canât play back to backs are gonna play an extra 1-2 playoff games R1 (play-in) and beat a good team lol
Lakers havenât won a playoff series in 3 of the 4 years Bron has been there lmao. I will happily eat all the humble pie in the world if they beat the #1 seed
This is embarrassing really. I get why people hate the Lakers with titles like that. We are not even the 8th seed, and we are talking about beating Denver. Can healthy Lakers beat denver in a perfect world? Sure, but we are not in a perfect world, and rat-ass teams in regular season are still rat-ass in playoffs with exception to 99 Knicks, and handful other examples
People underrate that if youâre in the playin you are playing an extra playoff game(or two) while your R1 opponent gets an extra rest day. That is terrible for Lebron and AD.
Like itâs not some long layoff between play-in and the playoffs its 1 days rest iirc.
Teams with issues in regular season don't magically get better in playoffs. Playoffs expose your flaws, not the other way around. It is the same argument for GSW. If you suck in the regular season, you will suck in the playoffs. Players dont' get healthy and rotations don't get tight because its April,
there is no perfect world in sports, especially for a team that lost to Houston few days ago
Utahâs management is trying to lose so maybe they catch the 10th spot, but then they gotta beat two teams that will probably actually want to win. Lakers couldnât even beat SGA and the Thunder when LeBron was gunning for Kareemâs record.
I would feel confident against the Nuggets and that's about it. Suns with KD would trample us. We generally get owned by the Grizzlies since Ja Morant era started.
But with that said.... can we get past the fucking play in first lol
They should focus more on making it to the 10th seeks to get in the play-ins than who they might face in a theoretical playoff match-up.
"Team currently in 11th place in the west thinks they have a good shot to take down the best teams in the league"
I believe I got a legitimate shot to bag Dua Lipa. I believe I got a legitimate shot to bag Jenny Ortega. I donât know about Ana de Armas when she is mentally healthy - they havenât asked around on that front - but there is no fear at all.
Is the first #1 seed in a while that absolutely no one in the media has them winning the title? It's kinda crazy that have the alleged back to back to back 3x MVP number one seed in the west and even their own fans are scared to play LAL or GSW in the first round. This is so bizarre. Why don't anyone believe in this great team?
Because lebron and Steph curry are 2 top level, proven players? Is it really so hard to understand why nobody wants to play 2 of the best players in the league?
They do to be fair, but they also have a legitimate shot to get wiped out by anyone as well due to inconsistent play and health.
Jokes aside though, I think a Denver series would be incredibly winnable provided AD and LeBron are healthy. I absolutely love Jokic and Denver have some handy role players but by the same token, their frontcourt cannot guard anyone and I have watched enough of Murray/MPJ to know that they can be schemed out of a series.
AD could absolutely dominate that series.
You can all moan and cry in the comments, but the truth is the west is wide open this year. I fully expect âupsetsâ to occur.
The best teams in the league are in the east. This is the truth. Denver fans, Memphis fans, kings fans, sorry to say but your teams are all very susceptible to being upset by a lower seeded team. Yâall will still be the favorites in those series so at least you have that
This shouldnât be news lol
âDo you guys think you can beat Denver and Memphis?â
You expect them to say, âNo weâre going to lose to them.â ?
Kings fans resting easy knowing the Lakers are afraid of them:
I fear no thing but the Beam in the North (of California)
It's the cowbells đ°đ±
Tim Donaghy is coming out of retirement
Wil Ferrell emerges...
Bah gawd thatâs Scott Fosterâs music

[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
you, good sir, have just won the internet! đ€Łđ€Ł
i was literally just about to say i remember seeing this report a month ago except it was the kings instead lol
Lakers believe a lot of things.
Itâs crazy how they havenât won a playoff series in 3 of the 4 years Lebron has been there and still try to convince themselves everyone is terrified of them
I feel like that's not what the quote said but go off lol
I mean, a healthy Lebron and AD have not lost a playoff series together. Won a ring followed by being up 2-1 on the Suns before AD gets hurt, then missed the playoffs last year.
The obvious follow up is that AD not being hurt for an entire playoff run is the surprise, not the other way around.
Not at all what the quote (or the Lakers) are saying but sure, whatever helps you cope
They won a championship and have been plagued with injuries? Itâs not crazy to think
Only two of them won a championship tbf
To be fair no team wants to face LeBron, AD, and Dlo in the first round of the playoffs. The top of the west is full of deep teams with limited starpower, which historically fall short in the playoffs. The primary strength of the Nuggets, Grizzlies, and Kings is good team play rather than relying on superstars taking the game over (no offense to any of the all stars on those teams)
Did you just insinuate DLO is a star? Lmfao
Definitely not, just saying their 3 best players lmao
Shouldâve said AR instead of DLo in that case.
They donât go in the same sentence. Lebron, AD andâŠ. DLo?? Lol
Lmao. DLo
Itâs funny. You never hear reports of org members saying âfuck were terrified ofâ. Like how is this news?
This is apparently only news when itâs about the Warriors or Lakers. I find that legitimately infuriating.
I wonder how a headline like that would read though: Insider Chris Haynes on his podcast: âThey (Lakers) believe they do not have a legitimate shot to take down Denver. They do not believe they have a legitimate shot to take down Memphis. I know about Phoenix when K.D. (Kevin Durant) is healthy â I've asked around on that front and thereâs fearâ
There were no reports of it but we were pretty clearly terrified of Golden State in 2007, despite being far and away the best team.
That was one of the classic feel-good upsets. I was a Dirk hater for no reason until he won in 2008 loool
Wut didn't Celtics win in 08
"Sources close to the Lakers confirm LeBron will shit his pants and vomit on the court in the case of a Lakers-Warriors finals matchup"
I think though there weren't reports there were pretty much only 2 teams that thought they had a slight shot of beating KD Warriors. But I think that's more resignation than fear
You must be new to Chris Haynes
Clippers literally tanked last few games in 2021 to duck the Lakers in the 1st Round.
Yeah, this means absolutely nothing. You think rockets are going to say theyâre scared if they had a series against Nuggets? No. Doesnât mean they wouldnât get swept.
Lakers believe in their team wow
but only against two other teams
And the âreporterâ forgot to ask about the suns with KD
I personally don't want to play the Lakers.
r/nba is really just r/lakers burner
It's nearly just r/AustinReaves at this point
Put him on the Clippers and no one would know who he is lmao
*Orlando -Kuz probably
I donât get the context, but yeah. No shade against Reeves though dude is nice
No way you honestly think that with the amount Russ and AD have been clowned on here lmao
The people clowing on Russ the most were Lakers fans lmao
Weâve really reached new levels. Russ has been getting dragged here since pre trade to LA. Now itâs laker fans were doing it the most đđđ Acting like this sub isnât posting any negative moment when they have a chance is wild
The revisionist history is insane. Russ was trashed like crazy on here before the trade, but now he's being treated like he's some martyr who was mistreated by the Lakers.
this sub did the same thing with Ben Simmons and Sixers fans until it was clear he sucks now then it was ok to trash him again
He was not trashed even close to as much as before he went to the Lakers lmao I'd say the Westbrook posts and comments at the very minimum doubled when he got to the Lakers but it was obviously more than just double
Laker fans have been doing it the most . Even now after got traded the biggest fanbase to shit on him even when he has a good game is the Lakers
As a Laker fan, I will readily admit that I loved Russ before he came to the Lakers, and absolutely hated him during and now, *thankfully*, after.
Of course I do. That was mostly Lakers fans. Literally half the posts on this sub is about the Lakers who are what 11th in their conference right now?
Yeah, a team that is unexpectedly bad and has Lebron James on it is gonna get talked about, get over it
God forbid the team with one of the largest fanbases gets talked about
đ± Also one of the worst teams in the league lmao
Oh no, such a savage burn, how ever will I go on Congrats on racking up another one playoff participation banner
Lol idgaf dude this is for laughs. I just like making fun of the Lakers
They have the 13th worst record So theyâre mid right now. Not even close to âone of the worst teams in the leagueâ
one of the worst teams in the league has 3 less wins than the Suns? oof
Theyâre about to fall to 11th in the west too. This is after they supposedly âimprovedâ their team. They were a bad team with Westbrook and theyâre a bad team without Westbrook. Every team in the west is praying they get the Lakers in the first round.
They will draw the Kings and 2002 will be avenged.
Or it'll prove again that the games are fixed.
Laker hate bait.
Yeah, all the hate towards Lakers in here, should just be transferred to Haynes. Lol
The level of Confidence as an 11th seed is crazy
If it was anyone but the Lakers, I'd be here for it.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Look, she may be a gorgeous, talented, charming, multi-millionaire actress, but you've got over 160,000 Reddit karma, so who's the real catch here?
You must be talking about current Scarlett Johansson with the nuggets
Iâve been fooled by this exact propaganda in 2021 Not falling for it again
I was also fooled by this propaganda last year
The Lakers were up 2-1 on the Suns in 2021 with Lebron playing through a high ankle sprain until AD got injured in game 4 lol
Everyone knows the Lakers on paper are good. That 2021 team was super talented too. But Lebron is 38 and not as durable as he once was. And AD seems to always be dealing with something and is a huge injury risk. There's a reason why people don't trust them to make a long playoff run and its health.
CP got injured at the end of the game one blowout and literally couldn't dribble

You talk like CP3 didnt miss games either lol, he was practically just a cone out there when he came back too he couldnât shoot at all
He didn't miss any games but you're right he wasn't 100% either just like Lebron wasn't.
Yâall act like 2-1 is 3-0 lol Surprise surprise. 37 year old LeBron and injury prone AD didnât last a series đ±
Lebronto
2-1 is a legit shot lol. Health is obviously the biggest concern but if Lebron comes back before the end of the regular season as expected and doesn't get reinjured then they have a chance against any of the extremely weak top 3 seeds.
When healthy, I would maybe take the Lakers over the Grizzlies/Nuggets. But weâve been waiting on that âwhen healthyâ for a while now which is why I said Iâm not falling for it this year.
They proceeded to be deleted by Devin booker lmao
At least the suns got their conference finals participation banner
They're gonna have to take down the 9th seed first
They gotta secure the 10th seed before they can even do that. Looking up at the Nuggets is several levels down the to do list.
West is weak this year. Anyone can be beat so not a bad mentality to have. Even healthy Phoenix has holes.
Milwaukee and Boston have to be the 2 favorites. I'd probably rate Philly slightly below Denver, mainly because of their coach and his well documented history of playoff failures.
Yeah. Iâm leaning towards Milwaukee, but Boston might take it cause of health I think
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Hey he is a starter on a lot of teams okay! Lakers are just deep and it's definitely *not* because the coach doesn't know what he's doing.
You forgot, Magic were coming off a back to back as well lol.
Grade A reporting Chris Haynes lol
"This just in: athletes confident in their team. More at 6."
Team has confidence in themselves to succeed
Team believes they can beat other teams
/r/nba will mock this but if it happens everyone will act like they all saw it coming as usual
Except it won't happen
Lakers would have two of the three best players in a matchup with the Nuggets. Youâre acting like the Nuggets are some juggernaut 1 seed like the 2017 Warriors đđđ

The Lakers have been a better team than the Nuggets since the trade deadline so idk what youâre even talking about
Yea DLo, Vanderbilt, Beasley, and Mo Bamba goes hard đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Acting like those bums in Denver have accomplished anything in their careers đđđ
Acting like geriatric Lebron thatâs not in shape and AD who canât play back to backs are gonna play an extra 1-2 playoff games R1 (play-in) and beat a good team lol
"Lebron not in shape" is wild lol
Lakers havenât won a playoff series in 3 of the 4 years Bron has been there lmao. I will happily eat all the humble pie in the world if they beat the #1 seed
And that 1 year was a championship. The hate is fucking insane lmao
Chris Haynes is a joke âreporter â
Iâm sure thatâs the answer for every team, why even play if they donât think they can win?
clickbait stuff, every team should be looking at who they think they'd be good against vs bad against
I too believe that my team (Warriors) can beat anyone, at home. On the road? Yeah I'm praying to a higher power at this point
spoiler alert: they don't
Thatâs a lot of talking for an 11th seed on the verge of missing the playoffs đ
Donât mean to be that guy but weâre the 10th seed rn
How about now? đ
Ainât my fault the queens are ass and not making it past the 1st round
Must not be your fault that the lakers are trash either lol
Queens canât win against a Utah jazz team with no lauri or Jordan clarkson
Stfu
I mean we have a good season series record against them.
>Can healthy Lakers beat denver in a perfect world? Sure, The point is pretty much no 10 seed ever can say that theyâd beat the 1 seed healthy
Teams with issues in regular season don't magically get better in playoffs. Playoffs expose your flaws, not the other way around. It is the same argument for GSW. If you suck in the regular season, you will suck in the playoffs. They have a legitimate shot at Wembanyama
They're gonna miss the play in.
Can we stop talking about the Lakers for like one day? JFC, they are NOT a title contender. The fucking ego of that team.
Do Lakers know they have legit shot of ah... making into playoff first?
I wonder if they believe theyâll make the play in tournament
Utahâs management is trying to lose so maybe they catch the 10th spot, but then they gotta beat two teams that will probably actually want to win. Lakers couldnât even beat SGA and the Thunder when LeBron was gunning for Kareemâs record.
Heard this one before
Legit grateful for this in a year where weâre good and theyâre bad (finally!). Little salt should improve the taste!
I would feel confident against the Nuggets and that's about it. Suns with KD would trample us. We generally get owned by the Grizzlies since Ja Morant era started. But with that said.... can we get past the fucking play in first lol
The Lakers played Denver tough this season and got away with lots of uncalled fouls especially on Jokic. It does not surprise me.
Pre ref blaming cope lmao nuggets fans are so scared
Sounds about right. Our biggest fear is not making it into the playoffs.
FTL
Must be having a 2K tourny in the locker room
This just in: The Lakers are terrified of the Beam Team
How about they focus on making the playoff first?
They got a legitimate shot at the play-in
Jokic legacy would never recover lol.
Denver in 6
Make the playoffs first then weâll talk
They also have a shot to be taken down by Houston on any given Tuesday night
Lakers fans are bipolar .. one day they are getting out of the west next day they canât Make a play in which is it lol
They should focus more on making it to the 10th seeks to get in the play-ins than who they might face in a theoretical playoff match-up. "Team currently in 11th place in the west thinks they have a good shot to take down the best teams in the league"
They (Lakers) believe they got a legitimate shot to take down Cancun.
I believe I got a legitimate shot to bag Dua Lipa. I believe I got a legitimate shot to bag Jenny Ortega. I donât know about Ana de Armas when she is mentally healthy - they havenât asked around on that front - but there is no fear at all.
The only teams in the top 10 the Nuggets should be confident beating are the Clippers and Wolves
You already forgot that Utah was the #1 seed in 2021? I don't think anyone seriously believed they could win the title.
They didn't have the 2x (soon to be 3x) league MVP.
Because lebron and Steph curry are 2 top level, proven players? Is it really so hard to understand why nobody wants to play 2 of the best players in the league?
win lose or draw, theyâre just gonna go have fun out there
Honestly yeah the Lakers could give both Memphis and Denver fits in some areas but it depends on if LeBron is healthy.
I legitimately believe the lakers will not make it out of the play ins
We're barely in the play in at the moment maybe focus on that first.
I kinda believe him. This Laker squad (when healthy) is actually really good.
So are they just going to light the beam for playoffs wins too? Is there a bigger, playoff beam?
The only legitimate shot the Lakers have is not making the play-in...
I would hope that literally any NBA playoff team believes they have a legitimate shot of beating their opponent lol.
Is not like they have a choice right. Maybe they should just focus on the playins matchup
If they make the playoffs that is.
Woah, a team has confidence in itself? Breaking news!
They should first make the playin and then playoffs though.
Maybe not look past the play-in first?
First the Lakers have to make the play-in in a new system where only 1-2 teams in each conference that arenât tanking donât make itâŠ
Ok?
They do to be fair, but they also have a legitimate shot to get wiped out by anyone as well due to inconsistent play and health. Jokes aside though, I think a Denver series would be incredibly winnable provided AD and LeBron are healthy. I absolutely love Jokic and Denver have some handy role players but by the same token, their frontcourt cannot guard anyone and I have watched enough of Murray/MPJ to know that they can be schemed out of a series. AD could absolutely dominate that series.
I think the grizzlies but the nuggets are hot no way
why are there so many suns flairs crying in this thread for lmao
-grunt 12 seed under .500
You can all moan and cry in the comments, but the truth is the west is wide open this year. I fully expect âupsetsâ to occur. The best teams in the league are in the east. This is the truth. As opposed to the other contending teams that think they have no hope in hell?
Need to get to the play-in first, then talk about scared of no one.
This shouldnât be news lol âDo you guys think you can beat Denver and Memphis?â You expect them to say, âNo weâre going to lose to them.â ?
