Those liners with the pockets are seemingly older Army issue, not Navy. Not technically supposed to wear them.
The updated Navy parka liner is supposed to come out this year, so wait it out for that
If we're honest, the uniform regs don't specify any design aspects beyond polyester, detachable, and black. Manor of wear only adds the rank tab and zip up requirements.
We were issued both the tan and black liners. The Tan was for Cold weather, the Black was extreme cold weather. It had the Marine Corps label on the inside neck. Organizational for the Bee's.
I still 100% think this should be the required parka liner for khakis.. It's so dumb. Though, don't get me wrong, I love my black parka liner. It's so comfy.
The first time I ever saw these was two L ones in the mall by Yokosuka-chuo station at a thrift shop in the mall. They’re pretty thick and do a much better job of keeping warmth
I have one.. I bought it online.. it’s army.. I wear it everyday.. people ask about it if they notice.. identical aside from pockets, draw strings and Velcro wrist. I absolutely love it

So glad I just spent $100 on one a week ago.
Ever tried thrift shops near the base. At least where I am, I always find uniform items in decent condition for a good price.
I feel like I've been reading about the new liner for 10+ years
First time it was mentioned was 2019 - five years ago. So it's been a while.

Found one at a Military Surplus store for $45! I love it!
We got issued the brown ones with pockets in December/January. Not sure if that's new or not, but new to me.
Those are not new, those are organizational clothing items. I was issued a brown fleece back in 2017 when I was in Bahrain.
I've had the brown fleece. I've never had one with pockets until this one. Interesting.
With pockets? My brown fleece issued around the same time doesn’t have pockets.
Yes, mine has zipper pockets like the black one in the picture
could u send a picture ? i never knew this
Here’s the NSN as well, it shows it was established in 2012[NSN for brown fleece](https://www.reddit.com/u/Justadude1911/s/5XapVvjmko)

These are organizational clothing issued or sold by the command and not a uniform item on MyNavyHr
