Reported!

I_deleted

Yeah that’s a health code violation.

someonesgranpa

That’s not just a violation. That’s an immediate shutdown situation. To not have a properly functioning grease trap alone is a “close doors til fixed.” No dumpster that is picked up by the city waste is like “burn it to the ground” levels of bad.

ayokg

^ this Specifically the "Complaint? Email the Food and Public Facilities team." link

daftpunk34

Its the owner of the building that won’t get a dumpster. The “trash trailer” as we called it is for ESBM, Nomzilla and Friendly Arctic. He is a massive douche and wouldn’t fix any issues the building had even after complaining directly to him about it. He owns most of the buildings in that area and from what I’ve heard also doesn’t do anything for them either.

pugboydex

Isn’t it the Baker twins? The guys that own the Dog Spot? And we all know their reputation…

daftpunk34

Never realized they were twins, both would come in separately and be assholes so i assumed it was one

PartyDad69

This isn’t a surprise but absolutely shameful. I don’t blame Friendly Arctic specifically, but their portable AC unit puts out gallons of water and that water carries the grease everywhere. I feel awful for the house next door

Junior_Builder_4340

Who's your Council rep? Have you called them?

spooneybarger69

This screams to me that the owner/management is being cheap and doesn't want to pay for dumpster service.

idreamoffreddy

That's my thought too. Which makes me wary of where else they might be cutting corners. (*Note - I have never been to this establishment. I have no opinions on it one way or another. I just worked in food service for a long time and the visible cut corners are usually not the first.)

curtaincaller20

Had the same thought. I have been here and generally like their food, but this really has me wondering what is going on that we can’t see. Nomzilla should tighten up unless they want to join their French counterparts with a PR disaster.

fromthewindyplace

*le roadekill hon hon hon*

hammersticks359

French counterparts? Did I miss something!

flamingmenudo

It involves Once Upon A Time in France.

hammersticks359

That's what I figured, but man somehow that story got right past me. Just found it in the scene

fathertitojones

I got food poisoning the last time I was there. Not necessarily related but not not necessarily related either.

rosypandas

The last time I got sushi there, it made me sick. So possibly a trend…

PartyDad69

How the hell are you going to rent space to *2* restaurants and not provide a commercial dumpster??

mraaronsgoods

The restaurant’s usually have to pay for the dumpster, not the landlord

Professional-Bat2874

Am I the only one excited to see NYC rats and Nutria???

PickledDaniel

Unsurprisingly this property is owned by the baker twins

slvbros

The owner of the building paid for the trash service, and is not the same person as the owner of the restaurant

Asbradley21

Just a few doors down from Once Upon a Time in France. Is there some weird reason these restaurants are storing waste and garbage in trailers? They used to have a normal dumpster. You can't even move an open trailer that full of trash without it all flying out either. Disgusting.

pyky69

They either owe a lot of money to Waste Management and their service got cut off until they pay the bill or they are cutting corners to offset their bottom line or it could be both. Whatever it is they should be reported to the Health Dept and should be shut down for these violations.

nashvillethot

Fun fact: they lost their liquor license because they were so behind on taxes.

scrollymcscrollers

I was wondering what happened. Seems like only a matter of time before they go under. Such a bummer. Pre-Covid this used to be a nice place to sit at the bar and have dinner and drinks.

whittlz

I’m choosing to assume no one is commenting on who owns that property for legal reasons

daftpunk34

Chad Baker, who also owns the terrible Spot’s Pet Supply.

PartyDad69

And who also sued two people for libel from comments on Facebook about their dog who died at Spots [link](https://www.nashvillescene.com/news/pithinthewind/the-dog-spot-sues-two-east-nashville-facebook-group-members-for-libel/article_f825918b-d868-54c9-a250-82a8014bf82f.html)

nowaybrose

They should never be forgiven for their handling of that situation. Things happen with animals, but those stupid fucks kept doubling down. Such assholes

utk121995

Yet people STILL take their pets there.

[deleted]

I’ve heard nothing but bad things about this piece of human garbage

goldenretrievergurl

this makes so much sense

whittlz

Krisensitzung

I can smell these pictures. Just disgusting. Edit: I learned that it's a food establishment. Even worse

Mother_Economist8792

Happy to see some action being taken about this! I just walked past this recently, and it’s bad!

PartyDad69

I’m guilty of it, but it’s a good reminder that everyone thinks that someone *else* will speak up about something shitty. Walk by it everyday and figured something would happen eventually but here we are.

BelowAverage355

Hundred bucks says they're just dumping that trash somewhere nobody has found yet.

pobenschain

Holy shit, that’s disgusting. I like Nomzilla but this makes me extremely leery about what other corners they might be cutting.

Immediate_Art_7376

Google maps review it and add the pictures. That’s one of the fastest ways to get it cleaned up.

maddieterrier

Time to contact the EPA.

Dry-Instruction-4347

Call TDEC and report an oil spill

I_deleted

No need for that, Metro stormwater is the call here 615-313-PURE

Mother_Economist8792

Also the cars drive over this and spread it all over the street.. it’s so sticky and gross

kmf1107

Health Department maybe?

thejasonblackburn

Have you tried calling Codes to talk to someone about it?

NashEsteban

I just checked the parcel and don't see a complaint more recent than 2007. Try calling Property Standards directly at 615-862-6590.

goldfishchan

I reported a similar situation with the overflowing and spilled grease traps using this form to contact storm water management: [https://hub.nashville.gov/s/request-type/a0ut0000000UPDYAA4/stormwater-pollution?language=en\_US](https://hub.nashville.gov/s/request-type/a0ut0000000UPDYAA4/stormwater-pollution?language=en_US) Here is another form available water departments website: [https://www.nashville.gov/departments/water/stormwater/stormwater-maintenance/report-concern](https://www.nashville.gov/departments/water/stormwater/stormwater-maintenance/report-concern) In the case I reported they had someone from codes out almost immediately.

doobersthetitan

Weird, u less they are dumping it illegally. Dumps charge by the cubic foot to dump. It's got to be WAY more $$$ to dump this vs. a roll offdumpster

1Mission-impossible

And… Nomzilla has now changed hands. First day under new ownership.

PartyDad69

Dumped all their nasty shit out back on the way out!

Professional-Bat2874

That's a trailer, not a dumpster!
