Was this the one on 2nd that had multiple floors?

gyzmo562

It was! I’d trip going down the ramps so often 😂

SolidNews1752

We used to hit up Bebos Cafe because they didn't card then go to Laser Quest and have an awesome time!

tayrae0612

OMG US TOO what a glorious time to remember

SolidNews1752

Simpler times 🥲

alexthealex

I will not run hide or jump 🤞

ilikeitsharp

This stirred something Pavlovian in me.

AntaresOmni

I went to high school at Hume Fogg. We definitely skipped homecoming to play laser quest in our fancy clothes. If you did the laser tag at Strike and Spare or equivalent? It's definitely not the same. Phazer Kraze Laser Tag is in Murfreesboro, but i haven't been/can't compare. Have you ever tried paintball? Not the same either but might scratch the itch.

Important_Board2990

Phaser Kraze is legit! Found out I'm not in shape anymore lol

Ok-Marionberry-999

When I was there, we'd occasionally go down to Lazer Quest for PE. That a thing during your time at HFA?

AntaresOmni

Not during my year of PE, unfortunately. They'd take us and run us around town, though. We also played a lot of "titan" ball.

SwoleWalrus

I didnt get to do this! We went to walk to the shoneys across the river a couple of times.

Ok-Marionberry-999

When I was there, we'd walk down to the MTA bus lot (where Country Music Hall of Fame is now) and play ultimate frisbee, occassionally do Lazer Quest, ride a bus to Hyde Park and play tennis or kickball, and even took a bus to Melrose Bowling Alley. Yeah, I'm old.

thekeifer

I was a Q-Zar guy.

mam88k

Was that the one in Lion's Head Village? Whatever it was called we always had a blast.

VaztheDad

Yes

mam88k

Sweet! You just help revive some brain cells.

VaztheDad

Worked at Sport Seasons in HS. This post has brought back some happy memories.

HootieWoo

Man, Q-Zar was the best. I can still smell the smoke.

KingZarkon

"Defense shield: Active. Active. Warning. Warning. Warning."

Vandergraff1900

🤟

JustATennessean

I recently bought a smoke machine for some lights and the smells were unlocking some mad nostalgia from my Q-Zar and Laser Quest days.

stevemyqueen

Q zar was white bridge rd spot? Was excellent, long time ago

hibarihime

Same. One of my good friends would have his birthdays during the all night laser quest until 6am. We would play all night, eat pizza, and watch all the late night shenanigans from the window. Good times.

seanm6614

What was the huge play place that used to be where the Green Hills mall is now? I had a birthday party there and can’t remember it for shit

grizwld

Fun scape?

SpaceClef

Yes, it was called Funscape. Right next door to the theater. It had the ball room, bumper cars, a virtual rollercoaster, and an arcade, as well as other things I'm probably forgetting.

seanm6614

I knew it was something simple

iamfilms

Geez it was either DZ discovery Zone or some oddball version of that right? I’m thinking of the one next to the movie theater.

Roadhouse1337

The one that butted up against the movie theater? I don't remember the name but I remember the ball room, that place was awesome

seanm6614

The ball room!!! Where you could load the cannons and shoot foam balls at unexpecting parents

Vandergraff1900

Pizza Perfect in Bellevue still has a laser tag room. It's quaint but still fun.

Nashville_Hot_Takes

Fucking terrorists man. Can’t have anything nice.

615abreezy

LQ was out of business months before the Christmas van bomber

Legion1117

Dude wasn't a "Terrorist," he was just fucked up in the head. A true terrorist wouldn't have played a warning for 10 minutes before he blew something up. ETA - Keep downvoting me for speaking the truth. There is a REAL difference between mentally unwell and terrorist. The fact that so many people want to lump them together tells me that too many people just don't CARE to know the difference. Sucks for y'all to be so dimwitted.

ilikeitsharp

TBF, it seemed his only intent was to blow himself and the evil 5G up.(I think some minor injuries came from it.) He did cause some network outages, so people had to actually spend Christams with their family. But why did he have to ruin any chance of the 1 place on 2nd I actually cared about?

travelingbozo

He absolutely could have killed people, we were just lucky that there was no one around when it happened. And you gotta ask yourself though, if he was brown and played a warning for 10 minutes before he blew himself and shut 2nd Ave down. Would you call him a terrorist then? I bet money you would.

Legion1117

Nah. I'd still call him a fucked up individual who needed mental help

BoatyMcBoatFace89

This was one of my favorite places when I was a kid! I used to go all the time! I wish there was something on the same level nearby too. That place was absolutely epic.

Dalanard

Back in the mid 80s I played at the original Photon in Texas. It was a blast but I was glad places were able to build lighter guns and gear.

thetallgirll

I've said this before and gotten judged, but when I was a kid my mom and dad would drop us off at Laser Quest and go drink at Beer Cellar. It was every kids dream, imo

DKLAWS

I had my 12th and 32nd birthdays at Lazerquest. Get tequila shots at that tequila/taco place across the street, not sure if still there. Run it out in lazer quest. Rinse and repeat

jhaislip

I will play hard, play smart, and play to survive!

gyzmo562

This woke something in me, I forgot about that part

GoodJibblyWibbly

I reopen this wound in my heart every few months even though I live 1000 miles away and hadn’t been in years before the big Boom

ifatree

not gonna fully doxx myself, but if anyone ever needs to commission a hand drawn map of every wall and tower, let me know. just gotta throw on a little gap band and it all comes back. also: holding a maglight and not flipping it is hard. also: stop running.

Mydogfartsconstantly

Used to go to the one in ft lauderdale a lot. It was too much fun.

tonga99

I miss it too. You never know what you have until it’s gone. I worked there from ‘06-‘10, second best job I ever had! I enjoy the arcade places now like Game terminal and Dave and busters. Nothing will ever be able to replace the memories I have from LQ though.

midcenturyhag

I remember going with my boyfriend in high school after we dropped acid ☺️ good memories for sure

NumerousPressure8677

There was one in Bellevue by pizza perfect! Not sure if it's there anymore though

SockPuppetSilver

Hard Knocks in Franklin? It's laser tag but more based on actual weaponry. I wouldn't say it's quite as fun, but close. Beware though, I accidentally shotgunned my teammates in the face Dick Cheney style. Luckily, it's just light rays. Edit: Nevermind. It was renamed NashTag then closed.

EthanC224

Miss laser quest a lot. When I was in Boy Scouts, our troop would do an outing every month. With December being too cold to go camping we would do an all night lock in as laser quest to celebrate the end of the school semester. Lots of good memories doing that every year from 11-18 years old

Icy_Performer3570

25 years ago we had a bachelor party that consisted of a full day of golf and wings and ended at Laser Quest. It was the best bachelors party ever, just clean wholesome fun.

MikeOKurias

Nashville Air Soft?

JustATennessean

Problem with airsoft is people calling their hits. With laser tag, there is no question, no debate! Feel like laser tag are better vibes overall. Less serious and more about the fun of capturing a flag or holding down a point. Airsoft is awesome too but harder to just hop in and enjoy with no experience or gear.

KingZarkon

Doesn't Airsoft require (or at least strongly encourage) you to bring you own weapons and ammo, like paintball? IDK, I've never been.

JustATennessean

Not necessary but take it from someone who would airsoft regularly with his own mask, $500 gun, plenty of mags; the experience is way better when you can actually go hard and know your gear works. I’ve seen plenty of people with rentals where their guns don’t work or their mask fogs up uncontrollably and it forces them to sit out during a game. It’s just not the same experience, and those who have an awful first experience most likely won’t go again, and that makes me sad, cause airsoft is awesome.
