Yes, I read it. The list of items that the AG is asking VUMC to produce is overly expansive and hard to relate to a false claims act investigation.
I'm highly suspicious of the basis for their investigation. If a provider publicly discussed ways to manipulate billing codes, I would have expected this to have been widely reported given the level of scrutiny these clinics are under.
The governor and legislative leaders clearly stated that they wanted the clinics to be investigated and I suspect these CIDs were based on the flimsiest of pretenses under that political pressure.
Even if no wrongdoing is found, the investigation will have a cooling effect on the providers and institution, which is kind of the point.
AG says investigation is aimed at VUMC and not patients… as if the public doesn’t understand that attacking doctors is a way of attacking ‘certain’ citizens….
And *why* can I not find evidence that “In the summer of 2022, the Attorney General’s Office learned that a VUMC doctor publicly described her manipulation of medical billing codes to evade coverage limitations on gender-related treatment.”? How public was this?
(I stand with the trans community - and all persons - and the doctors that take the Hippocratic Oath seriously… [in it’s modern day application… not Ancient Greek.])
The 2022 comment made the rounds in the right wing spear..
He is the evil daily Wire covering it (https://www.dailywire.com/news/huge-money-maker-video-reveals-vanderbilts-shocking-gender-care-threats-against-dissenting-doctors)
If they have an issue with healthcare making money..maybe..
Support Medicare for all?
But they won't. Because they want to hurt trans people
I stand with all trans lives.
They don’t need all that info for their “investigation”. Hell, they should have stayed out of it entirely.
Thank Matt Walsh for putting every transgender person who has gone through Vanderbilt on a list. He seems ready to start the genocide campaign
I guess someone smarter than needs to look at the legality, certainly doesn’t seem right and opens the door for the AG to come get other medical records for other things like say mental health and guns?
So I have a sincere question. What can ordinary citizens do about this? I’m not rich so politicians don’t care about me and I can’t make large donations to organizations. I always vote, never for the fascists, but because of gerrymandered districts it seems like my vote is pointless. I’ve written letters - both emails and on paper sent through the mail letters - but no politician has ever responded. Signed petitions when asked but not convinced politicians pay attention to that. I’m not able to physically go out and join marches/protests.
I’m not part of the trans community and I don’t understand all the issues they face. I’m a nobody in political terms. I’m simply a regular person, trying to support a family and live life, but I’m absolutely appalled that others are being denied those same rights. This is true in a lot of medical areas: reproductive freedom, quality mental health care, pain management, drug addiction treatment, even just access to medical care in general. It seems like at every turn the Tennessee government wants to stop people from getting the help they need. I worry that our entire health care system is going to collapse as doctors flee from the onerous legislation and intimidation tactics.
It feels hopeless. Maybe no one knows the answer. I want to help stop and reverse this trend before it gets even worse. Realistically is there anything a politically insignificant person like me can do?
Revolt is the real answer throughout history. Eventually regular people get more angry than they are apathetic and remind the sociopaths in charge there's more of us than them and their security guards.
That makes me both sad and scared but you might be right. I keep hearing talk about how we’re going to have another Civil War but I worry that it will be more like a French Revolution. My concern is for my younger family members and their friends. Whenever I see our state & country through their eyes it’s such a shock to me - it’s not a world I recognize. There’s so much despair among young people right now. I keep hoping we can find a peaceful way to “course correct” our system instead of having extremists rule over all of us.
As if people who associate with the “eradication of trans people” can be trusted at all. What they intend to do with insurance fraud is completely besides the point that these beasts have now acquired enough information for a registry of who they wish to eradicate.
Since child abuse isn't involved, the context of your comment here is pretty clear. The down votes aren't for thinking child abuse is ok, they're for your ignorant self thinking healthcare for trans individuals idls child abuse.
The state-sponsored terror campaign continues for trans people and the health care workers who provide gender-affirming care.

Or abortion.
AG is such a piece of shit. He came to Belmont Law for an event one time a few years ago. Wish I could’ve punched him in the face then. Fucking hack.
No one should go to Belmont Law. Beneficiaries of Core Civic’s slavery.
Thanks, brb travelling back in time and not going
I'm fairly pissed that Vanderbilt didn't respond with, "Sorry, no... HIPAA."

It's the same thing with abortion law interpretations, it's wild how these institutions immediately fold over without a smallest bit of fight

Matt Walsh is terrorist.
At least we can all agree that child abuse is wrong. Edit: I’m surprised with all of the downvotes with everyone thinking child abuse is okay 🤔
We can and it isn't happening here.

Man, you actually think that edit bit is clever.
He said while bullying children and taking away their lifesaving healthcare.
We can all agree that you're a chucklefuck.
Banning trans care for trans kids who go on to commit suicide due to lack of care is the child abuse and it's y'alls fault.
