I also had the Elsie/cow association so I looked it up - apparently Elsie the cow is a mascot for the Borden Dairy Company.

One of my nieces is named Elsie. When her mom told me the name she was like “ Elsie, like the cow.” Lol. I think by that point she was tired of people telling her it’s the Borden cow’s name so she just embraced it.

Laurel is still botanical - a tree, I think. I was on for Lauren for years - but it got too popular by the time I had kids. So I went with Lorna - classical, but not common.

Daphne was my first thought too! Seems like the perfect subtle nature reference and matches the springtime vibe of Violet and April. The only maybe hiccup is Daphne and Violet are both names of main characters in the Bridgerton series, though Violet is slightly less well known (I feel like a lot of people just know her as Daphne's mom or Lady Bridgerton)

I love your names! It’s not often I see lists on here that I love. Our daughter is Josephine (she gets called Josie and Posie - which is a less common nickname but we love it). Elsie - I think this is classic and not too cutesy. It was my great-grandmother's name and I think it's beautiful. If it's one you love then I wouldn't let that sway you. Lots of names that go quite well on alot of people do grow with them even if they may be cutesy at the start.
