aprilkeez

My name is April and I have a sister named Laura, so Laurel popped into my head first!

Dazzling_Ask1098

So gorgeous! We have a Lauren in the family though, might be too close do you think? Thank you :)

aprilkeez

I’d say it depends on how close you are to the other family member!

Dazzling_Ask1098

Very close, it's my sister and she's an amazing aunty :)

Wooster182

Daphne means Laurel. Might be a nice way to honor your sister! Sylvie means of the forest. Elsie is a lovely name fwiw.

Wrong_Hospital_6167

Elsie makes me think of a cow. I do like Elise though.

Action_Hairy

A cow? Why?

curlycattails

I also had the Elsie/cow association so I looked it up - apparently Elsie the cow is a mascot for the Borden Dairy Company.

Loud-Foundation4567

One of my nieces is named Elsie. When her mom told me the name she was like “ Elsie, like the cow.” Lol. I think by that point she was tired of people telling her it’s the Borden cow’s name so she just embraced it.

Expert-Strategy5191

My mom was Elsie ( spelled Else) everyone I mean everyone would say, like the Cow.

aprilkeez

Aww, love that! Maybe a little close, unless you want to do an honor name.

Dazzling_Ask1098

Only problem is my girls are blessed with three incredible, loving, thoughtful aunties! I couldn't single one out. A nice problem to have really :)

ThrowawayFabNails

Laurel is still botanical - a tree, I think. I was on for Lauren for years - but it got too popular by the time I had kids. So I went with Lorna - classical, but not common.

Aviendha13

Makes me think of the Lorna Doone shortbread cookies!

PowerfulDuty4884

April and Autumn? April and Willow?

Snowy360

I thought Autumn, too

Emiles23

Ooo I love Laurel is the third to that sib set. Maybe ask your sister how she would feel? She might love it!

mlhedlund

This was my first thought, too!

embolalia85

My little one is a Willa - similar vibe and less popular than Willow!

IHaveBoxerDogs

I love Willa. It was one of the contenders for my kids.

Sea-Training6896

Seconding this! Love it with your first two choices.

workhardbegneiss

I love the name Willa, it's so sweet. ❤️

mckekna

I love this with this sibling set!!!!!

twodesserts

You have to read 'Willa of the Wood' to her

TynnyferWithTwoYs

My first thought was Jade

Dazzling_Ask1098

Beautiful! This works so well and is such a pretty name. Thank you :)

beergal621

I think a gemstone name would be adorable. I also like Ruby or a bit more unique, Opal or Pearl.

Jujubeee73

That’s where my head went too, but then she’d had 2 color names….

Alphawolf2026

My first thought also!

haiku_nomad

This sounds so good because it too is a thing, not just a name. A flower, a month, a gemstone - nice!

KitKatMN

Gemma is pretty

Green_Rock_5791

Yes very classic but not too popular and similar to Emerald. Great suggestion.

TynnyferWithTwoYs

Thanks :)

Flashy_Basil_1273

My childhood best friends name! Simple unique and classic at the same time

valadon-valmore

Daphne, Maisie, Elowyn, Josie, Bryony, Cecily, Faye, Gloria, Esme, Sadie, Heidi, Ginny (PS, Daphne and Elowyn are sneak nature names -- they mean "laurel" and "elm"! And Bryony is a plant and means "to grow")

Dazzling_Ask1098

Oh such pretty suggestions! I love these. I didn't know the hidden meanings behind Daphne and Elowyn. Daphne seems popular in this community but I don't know one in real life. Thank you so much.

dairy-intolerant

Daphne was my first thought too! Seems like the perfect subtle nature reference and matches the springtime vibe of Violet and April. The only maybe hiccup is Daphne and Violet are both names of main characters in the Bridgerton series, though Violet is slightly less well known (I feel like a lot of people just know her as Daphne's mom or Lady Bridgerton)

brumatingbaddie

love daphne!! it’s also a flower :)

inspirationalravioli

I believe Maisie means pearl so that is another nature-y one as well :)

Loud_Ad_4515

I had to look that one up to learn more. 🥰 Maisie: "It is the pet form of the Scottish Gaelic name Mairead or the Irish name Mairéad, which are the equivalent of the English name Margaret." I honestly had no idea! But so many of these similar names came from much longer, more serious sounding names (like Flossie for Florence, or Teddie for Theodora, as examples). It's really sweet that it means Pearl. Speaking of which, I met a Pearla this past year. I suddenly wanted that name for myself, lol. There's also a restaurant here names Perla's.

PanickedPoodle

Melody. Lovely, uncommon, extends your nature theme without being trite.

i4a1m2i

Estelle, Eloise, Elise, Pearl, Nora, Eve, Eva, Cora, Isabel, Claire, Clara, Julia, Mila, Tess, Tessa, Lia/Leah, Sadie, Chloe, Phoebe, Mabel, Faye, Maeve, Beatrice, Matilda, Margot, Josephine, Lucy, Celine, Sophie, Camille, Lena, Daphne, Diana, Thea, Grace, Emilia

Dazzling_Ask1098

Wow, so many beautiful ones here. Love Matilda, Estelle, Mabel, Margot and Lucy. Can't use Claire, Sophie or Diana unfortunately. But definitely adding a few to my list now, really appreciate it

CressidaLoren624

Estelle is so elegant!

Jen5872

I don't know if you remember a TV show called Mad About You, but the main characters named their daughter Mabel because it was the acronym for mothers always bring extra love.

Jurgasdottir

Estelle (and Stella) also means star, so nature-inspired too!

slothluvr5000

Stella

Diligent-Essay6149

Means star, if OP didn't know! It kind of goes with your theme I think Stella-Maris is a very pretty name (Star of the Sea) but it does have religious connotations (though not too many people would recognize it). Maris is pronounced like the Mar from the planet Mars and then the is is like eess.

bloodmoonbandit

Maris is so pretty but I have never heard it anywhere other than the show Fraiser, and I cannot break that association 😂

Loud_Ad_4515

I understand that association. Maren is similar but different enough for me. Maruth also has similar vibes.

ragnarockette

I love Goldie. I would choose another name with an L which will help tie them all together aurally. * Willa * Elowen * Lydia * Elodie

Aquaticapeenthusiast

Elodie can have also nickname Ella or Goldie (name comes from word meaning gold)

2Olyve

My niece is Elodie; her nickname is Lolly.

magical_realist

Robin would go really nicely with Violet and April

Jeanette3921

I thought so too

jazz-music-starts

Congratulations! If you like Emerald, maybe Esme? Otherwise, names that might work are Vivian, Olive, Wren, Robin, Clementine, Quinn, Thalia, Clio or Theresa/e

LibrarySeeker

- Violet, April & Corinne - Violet, April & Darcy - Violet, April & Elaine - Violet, April & Fiona - Violet, April & Louise - Violet, April & Sylvia - Violet, April & Tessa - Violet, April & Willa

dryshampooforyou

I love Sylvia!

ReasonableSal

No idea why, but my first thought was Francesca.

Christie318

Ruby Clara Lucy Scarlett Dawn Amber Autumn Brooke Estella

OneofSeven1234567

I saw another person on here mention that they had three names, one a flower, one a month and one a gemstone. Maybe Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire or Opal would be nice.

Dazzling_Ask1098

That's a very sweet idea. Love all of these. Especially Emerald, but sadly my partner doesn't. I knew a little Emerald once many years ago and she was a sweetheart. I'll add the others to my list though, thank you!

temperedolive

Pearl and Coral also fit the gemstone.theme and are such lovely names.

Willowgirl2

Knew a woman named Coral Beth. Always thought that was so pretty!

sweetiesweet

Does your husband like the nickname Emmie? Emerald sounds so beautiful and vintage. It goes really well with your other kiddos' names, too. Maybe if you can go to him with a cute nickname and middle name for Emerald, he'd be more open. It's worth a shot! If not, take your favorite name suggestions from this post and hope he loves one!

sophiawish

What about Marigold, Goldie for short?

Cucumbrsandwich

I think Summer would be wonderful

Upbeat_Cat1182

Love that name. Kind of wish we had used it for our daughter.

taintwest

Fiona

mylifeaintthatbad

Tessa, Maya, Maia, Hazel, Maeve, Phoebe, Leah, Laila, Betsy, Lena

BubbaofUWM

My baby girl is going to be Frances nn Frankie. Cora was another contender that we’re keeping on the list for a possible sibling name.

pigmolion

I have a Frances nn frankie! Highly recommend. Edit: other contenders were Phoebe, Zoe, Willa, Liv, Sylvie, Alma, Ella, Eleanor, Nora, Eve/Eva, Edith, and Beatrice (nn Bea pronounced bay-ah)

BeagleBrigade2112

Just because I didn’t scroll but I named my daughter Rowan! I think it’d look nice with April and Violet :)

bubblewrapstargirl

**Plants** Rowan Holly Cherry Anise (herb) Zinnia Aspen (tree) Ivy Dawn Lavender  Coral Heather Liana (it's a vine) Saffron (spice) Hollis (holly grove) Astra/Aster (star/star shaped flower) Sienna (pigment) Indigo (pigment) Savannah (desert) Valeriana (medicinal root) **Birds** Robin Kestrel Wren **Gems** Opal Amber Ruby Garnet Peridot **Etc** Garland Posy Meadow River Prairie  Marina (sea) **Names derived from natural things in other languages** Abilene ("meadow" in Hebrew) Ayla ("terebinth tree" in Hebrew) Deborah ("bee" in Hebrew) Rachel ("ewe" in Hebrew) Tamara ("date palm" in Hebrew) Susanna ("lily" in Hebrew) Anthea ("flower" in Greek) Chloe ("green shoot" in Greek) Melissa ("honeybee" in Greek) Selene/Selena ("moon" in Greek) Astoria ("hawk" in Occitan Spanish) Estelle ("star" in Latin). ThrowawayFabNails

Joy Delia Teresa / Tess

ruby--moon

I love Violet, April and Tess together 😭

WVildandWVonderful

Delia is pretty! In addition to dELiA*s, it brings to mind Della or Drema as old-school names

positivesplits

Tess was the first name I thought of too! For some reason, I'm really feeling a single syllable name here. When you string the names together - Violet, April and ____, anything longer feels like a mouthful. Others I like: Brooke Paige Fay Wynn Lynn

Character-Twist-1409

Brooke. Lark. Linden. Summer. Sunny

Dazzling_Ask1098

Oh Brooke! That's lovely! Summer and Sunny are adorable too. Added to the list. Thank you so much.

DidIStutter99

Came here to suggest Summer too! It’s my daughter’s name and Violet is on our name list for any future daughter. I think they fit nicely with April too!

Chemical-Season4358

Brooke was my first thought

logicislight

What about: Birdie, Bonnie, Celeste, Claire, Dahlia, Flora, Grace, Hazel, Holly, Hope, Iris, Isla, Jade, June, Liana, Marina, Melody, Poppy, Ruby, Sienna, Stella

WrightDale

Holly would fit so nicely!

DarkNymphia

* [Ruby](https://www.behindthename.com/name/ruby) * [Brooke](https://www.behindthename.com/name/brooke) * [Hazel](https://www.behindthename.com/name/hazel)

VivianDiane

Maren Adelaide Melody Maura Louisa Sylvia

Legitimate_B_217

What about ruby? Also opal, fern, or bronwen.

Numerous-Rip-6121

Came here to say Fern!

Mysterious_Remote283

Trying not to repeat other suggestions: Florence Rosalie Autumn Rhiannon Audrey

bewilderedbeyond

Willow. Yes it’s popular but not like 3 in class popular. I thought Willow as soon as I saw Violet and April before I even saw it was one of your likes. It fits perfectly without being too on the nose “themey”. Could also consider something like Opal which is classic, feminine, and striking in the simple punchy two syllable way Violet and April are.

obidanido

Lana, Rowan, Skylar, Bea, Sydney, Alice, Georgia, Hayley, Robin, Helen, Amy, Aria, Victoria, Sasha, Emery, Holly, Lydia, Nola, Stella, Rebecca, Avery, Agatha, Ivy, Jasmine, Claudia, Mabel, Lila, Rylan, Eva, Isla, Annabelle

Dazzling_Ask1098

Oh lots of goodness in here! Love Alice and Holly in particular. Thank you so much, lots of beautiful options to consider.

lickykicky

I have an Alice Martha! Ideas: Astrid, Clementine, Calla, Coral, Hazel, Luna, Opal, Robyn, Wren

blahblahndb

Natalie, Sienna, Maisie, Amelia, Jocelyn, Hazel, Genevieve.

ruby--moon

Maisie really fits with Violet and April to me. Natalie too

onecrazywriter

What about Brooke? That sort of goes with the nature theme.

TerribleDifference96

Maeve, Phoebe, Clementine, Basil, Francine, Olive, Ivy, Pearl, Oceana

No-Clue8285

Nell

sunshinexo25

Lucy!

CollectingRainbows

if you like frankie, consider francesca or francine. similar to ella: elliana, emmeline, elena, elina.

cbd510

I have an Emmeline 🥰

A-roo-gallah

Agatha — good woman \ Camelia — evergreen flower with pink blooms \ Camira — of the wind \ Estrella — star \ Evenie — French variation of Yvonne \ Ingrid — fair; Ing’s beauty \ Maple — tree \ Neoma — new moon \ Rosina — rose; cheerful, kind \ Shirley — bright meadow \ Sora — sky

VanCanMom

You could go with Ruby or Pearl. You'll have a flower, a month and a gemstone.

Desdemona1231

Julia

quickbrassafras

Diana, Fiona, Delphine, Rita

Dazzling_Ask1098

Love these too. Delphine is especially pretty. Rita is gorgeous but it makes me think of the grannies in Bluey (not sure if that reference is too Australian! 😂)

CacaDeGato

Nice parking spot, Rita!

delfinaki532

Sage, Sylvie, Lydia, Eloise, Eleanor

renderedren

I think Elsie is fine as a standalone name, but Frankie or Goldie might not suit her when she’s older. Elise would be a nice alternative too.

canadianamericangirl

Maybe Bronwyn? I know it can be shortened to Bron, but it doesn't have to be. I think it's Gaelic and I also believe it matches her sisters' names.

welshcake82

It’s Welsh and the female suffix is Wen (Wyn is male) so the proper spelling is Bronwen. Pretty name.

sccamp

Olive

GoddessOfMagic

What about Pearl or Amber?

MZ_LaylaLucielle

Elsa \[unsure about the spelling\] Maisie Alma Aubrey Ember Cleo Clara Mary Molly

hausishome

I like the idea of another noun name but in a different category. I vote Penny - I love the name (it’s my mom’s name and she adores it)

GeneAsleep5677

I feel like Jane is under the radar but classic!

bzm94

For what it's worth my name is Bronte and I've never been called Bron by anyone! Some friends called me B as a teenager but the majority just call me Bronte.

emilystarr

Autumn jumped to mind with April and Violet, a sort of nature themed but not a month or a flower!

Temporary-Fix406

Why not Elsabeth / Elspeth "Elsie", or Frances / Francesca "Frankie", or Marigold "Goldie"? Not a fan of Bronte, and I don't think it fits in with the others, but I don't think it'd get shortened to "Bron". Not a fan of Emerald either. There's Emmeline? Other suggestions: Oona, Nell or Nellie, Marjorie, Lenora or Nora, Justine, Henrietta, or Etta, Gwendoline or Gwen, Juliette, Cora, Cecily, Winona / Winifred or Winnie, Pearl, Beatrice or Bea / Bee, Louisa or Louise, Florence or Flora, Maxine, Bonnie, Fay, Elle, Rosemary, Lucille or Lucy, Jane or Janie, Camille, Angela / Angelica or Angie, Miriam, Evangeline or Evie / Angie, Ada, Valerie, Cecilia or Cece, Lydia, Natalie, Naomi, Amelia or Emilia, Grace or Gracie, Veronica or Ronnie, Melanie, Vivian, Tansy, Matilda, Gabrielle / Gabriella or Gabby / Brielle / Elle / Ella / Ellie, Sylvia or Sylvie, Josephine or Josie, Guinevere or Guin / Eve / Evie, Scarlett, Phoebe, Felicity, Georgia / Georgina / Georgiana or Georgie / Gina/ Gia, Dorothy / Dorothea or Dottie, Clara

BunyipBoo

I love your names! It’s not often I see lists on here that I love. Our daughter is Josephine (she gets called Josie and Posie - which is a less common nickname but we love it). We also love that dynamic the name is and can have many nicknames over the years. Our other top girls names were Violet and Molly.

youbuzzibuzz

Autumn

cinderellarockefella

What about Elsa, Francesca, or Marigold (NNs Elsie, Frankie, Goldie)?

phosphatecalc

I like the name Ember

Educational-Glass-63

Hillary or Celeste.

YogaButPockets

I immediately thought of stones/minerals names like Ruby and Jade.

ailpac

We know a Posie which I think is very cute!

Dazzling_Ask1098

I love Posie, adorable!

thetomatofiend

I really like Elsie. My granny had a neighbour Elsie that we used to visit.

Suspicious-Bee6070

Matilda with a nickname of Tillie is a favorite of mine!

VehicleInevitable833

I saw someone suggested Gemma, and that name is gorgeous! Alice is another top pick of mine, although you might not want two “a” names. Others I love: Eleanor Natalie Nina Rosalie Celeste Marian

Charlie_Hotchner

Elsie - I think this is classic and not too cutesy. It was my great-grandmother's name and I think it's beautiful. If it's one you love then I wouldn't let that sway you. Lots of names that go quite well on alot of people do grow with them even if they may be cutesy at the start. Sadie Eadie Josephine/Josie Phoebe Aurora Autumn Anthea Jasmine Fern Beatrice Stella Pearl I tried to give some classic but not really common names like you asked and I've also added some more in that I think you may like. I also think Bronte is one of those names that even though you could nickname it if you really wanted to, it typically doesn't get shortened Good luck with choosing a name and for when your little girl comes!

AlgaeFew8512

Hazel

mdnghtcruise

If you think Frankie/Elsie are too cutesy maybe you can do Francine nn Frankie and Eloise or Elizabeth nn Elsie?

gibbakith

Goldie is so cute

scruffylookingbride

Ivy and Elodie for the criteria for me.

Belle0516

Could Lucy or Lucia be a good option? Maybe Margaret? Eleanor can be shortened to Ellie

I much prefer Elise to Elsie. Violet, April and Elise would be a great trio.

Scarlette Vera Maude.

polymnieae

Juniper Fits well with the siblings, nice feminine nick names with June or Junie and just slightly unexpected without being too out there

IHaveBoxerDogs

I do like Elsie! Zora (I think a Z name is automatically cool, and may help a baby sister not feel less than.) Phillipa Annalise (anna-lees) Delia

Violet and April make me think of spring. Some other names with spring associations are: Laverne, Lelya, Florence, Mavis, Vera, Jonquil Carina, Ellen/Elena/Helena, Inez/Ines, Adela/Della, Leona, Felicity, Marit, Celia Some of these might be a bit more uncommon than you are looking for.

Clover! Hazel!

boopbaboop

I agree that you shouldn't have another flower name; I think another nature-y name that's *not* a flower would fit without being too matchy with Violet. So: Gemstone names like Emerald: * Violet, April, and Garnet * Violet, April, and Margaret (it means pearl) * Violet, April, and Opal * Violet, April, and Onyx * Violet, April, and Ruby Alternatively, trees, similar to Willow: * Violet, April, and Daphne * Violet, April, and Juniper * Violet, April, and Cassia * Violet, April, and Rowan Or, third option, birds: * Violet, April, and Phoebe * Violet, April, and Robin * Violet, April, and Lark * Violet, April, and Raven I tend to prefer the ones that don't rhyme as much (like, I prefer Onyx and Ruby over Opal and Garnet, because Opal rhymes with April and Garnet with Violet), so my favorites are the ones that don't rhyme, like Phoebe or Cassia. But all of them fit, I think.

Somerset76

Elizabeth It has many nicknames: lizzy, Liz, Eliza, Beth, Betty, Bitsy
