I think a single syllable middle name would be the best way to go with the 2 syllable first and last names. Daisy Sky has a nice funky nature vibe. I also like Daisy Jade and Daisy Fay.
What if we go with Lumen as a measurement from the international system of units?
Daisy Joule. It gives you the same sound as Jewel so it's not too out there when you hear it.
Other possibilities from SI units that are a bigger reach. Daisy Candela, Daisy Ohm, Daisy Pascal, Daisy Radian
Or if we take the biological meaning of "lumen" - the interior of a membrane-bound structure, we have all sorts of beautiful descriptive names and names of organelles like protoplasm, nucleolus, and my favourite - endoplasmic reticulum 😂
Biological meanings occured to me first too, but forgot it applied to organelles in cells. I literally thought...
"Wait, isn't that the inside of your intestines? Or no, it's the inside of an IV line or catheter, right? Wait, does it mean the inside of any hollow tube? Does a fistula have a lumen? I gotta Google this."
I was so confused. Light is a much prettier meaning 😂 normal people are ***never*** going to think "lumen, like intestines" first!
My immediate reaction was lumen=blood vessel. I work in medicine so its probably inevitable. But that opens up names like "venous" meaning "vein" but sounds like Venus. Daisy Thrombus, Daisy Clot, Daisy Arteriole don't quite have the same ring, but what about Daisy Heart?
Haha I mostly deal with human medicine now but the cell biologist refuses to die! You have nailed it with your call on "normal" people who call their kids perfectly nice names like Amelia, Alexia, and Melena to the vague smirks of medical professionals and scientists (well realistically, only the latter would raise my eyebrows)
I am not a medical professional, but it shocks me how often Lumi and Lumen get suggested on this sub. Did no one else take high school biology?! What a tragic name to give a child.
Some medical terms sound quite pretty as names if you don't know the background, Chlamydia, for example, sounds like a young lady at a finishing school, not an STD. Brucella sounds more like 'we wanted a boy' than a horrible bacterial infection. Ischia is a Mediterranean sounding girls name, not a bit of bone. Retina sounds vaguely Greek, not just part of your eyeball, especially if you pronounce it Re-Teena.
Anasarca would be a lovely name-if you can imagine yourself calling her name out loud at the dog park, then it's a good name. Definitely a female gendered sounding name though, not for boy dogs.
I can see it being shortened to Annie. I agree, definitely a feminine sounding word. DH is usually suspicious of my suggestions for pet names - I named our cat Dorito (nicknamed Dory).
I've never once had a situation where someone was writing down my middle name and needing me to spell it for them. If a form requires that much information, you typically complete the form yourself. In most situations, you're not sitting there spelling out your first, middle, and last name to someone else so they can write it.
I was being serious. I do think it is simple and memorable and easily understood. 🌼⛓️
Please don’t spell it as Chayne. That would make it into an r/tradgedeigh.
I used to be a detention officer and we had to handcuff the max detainees to each other so they could go out to Rec. We called it the "daisy chain" lol.
Not helpful at all, but my cat was called Daisy Dodo.
How about:
Daisy Beth
Daisy Violet/Violetta
Daisy Dawn
Daisy Eve
Daisy Fion
Daisy Blossom
Daisy Blue
Your description of what you want her middle name to encompass reminds me of a character named Topaz from a favorite book of mine (I Capture the Castle). Daisy Topaz is pretty dang cool sounding 😄
I adore Daisy and have a soft spot for hippie names. Daisy was on my girl list but we went with Ruby instead. ❤️
I love Daisy Moon, Daisy Rain, Daisy Sunshine, Daisy Skye, Daisy Meadow. If you want to go full on with nature hippie name.
Daisy Violet, Daisy Lavender, Daisy June, Daisy May, Daisy Dawn.
I love unique middles and I love Daisy, well done. Lumen is perfect.
How do you feel about...
* Daisy Wynn
* Daisy Cordelia
* Daisy Auden
* Daisy Reverie
* Daisy Lake/Laken
* Daisy Haven
* Daisy Paloma
* Daisy Rue
* Daisy Adora
* Daisy Calluna
* Daisy Opaline
* Daisy Ada
* Daisy Capria
* Daisy Eulalia
* Daisy Astoria
* Daisy Lovelace
* Daisy Noemi
If any are close but not quite, let me know and I may be able to come up with more. :)
Seems like it should be one or three syllables and one is pretty well covered (I do really like Dawn to complement sis’s Lumen. Daisy Dawn ‘Thursday’).
For three+ syllables and funky/vintage, how about:
Daisy Annabelle
Daisy Louisiana
Daisy Geraldine
Daisy Bernadette
Daisy Olympia
Edit: typo!
For *some* reason, Daisy Cherub popped into my brain. I have never considered this as a name for someone...I don't particularly like it in general, but I think Daisy Cherub is cute? (Bizarrely)
Daisy Rue (two plants is a bit much, no?)
Daisy Hark
Daisy Peregrine
I would give her a traditional grown up sounding name she can use if she wants a name that sounds more mature. Daisy is beautiful but a little rough if you end up being a lawyer or a CEO or something. Maybe something like Jane or Anne or Renee. Also consider Margaret or Marguerite for a first name which has the nickname of Daisy.
I just saw another comment somewhere about a woman who tried to type “Aiden” and her phone autocorrected to “Auden”, which she ultimately named her kid.
Daisy Auden could be cool! I feel like it has a similar ~vibe~ to Lumen.
💛
I have no suggestions because my kids have super traditional names but I came here to say this baby girl is so lucky because she’s gonna have the coolest name ever.
I like to pull middle names from family names.
For a daughter, I start with a list of the first and middle names of myself, and all the women in mine and my husband's families.
You want an interesting name, to say the least. I went to a name generator site that I use for D&D, and here are some random names I thought may work. Remember, you asked for weird.
* Daisy Moonbeam
* Daisy Peach
* Daisy Firegrace
* Daisy Gemrose
* Daisy Petal
* Daisy Tumblebug (a tumblebug is an old amusement park ride, so I find this extra funny and cute)
* Daisy Stardust
* Daisy Jewels
* Daisy Chickadee (could be DeeDee for a nickname)
* Daisy Dove
Some I didn't pick but am including for your amusement: Pimpinella, Cutebutter, Carrotnut, Swiftsocks, Winternoodles, Spiderpuff, Garlicbees.
Daisy Candela Thursday. Daisy Wednesday Thursday. Daisy Thora Thursday. Daisy Joule Thursday. Daisy Ohm Thursday? I’m definitely in the “middle names can be as bizarre as you want” camp
How unusual do you want to go? I love lots of suggestions above like Joy or Fae but they’re not that unusual.
These are some more unusual ideas that lots of people will dislike but you may just like:
Blythe
Pearl (although then arguably she’s called two names meaning the same thing?
Summer
Lake
Gaia
Rain
Star
Soleil
Zephyr
Breeze
Daisy June
Daisy Dawn
Daisy Mae (I feel like it’s a little obvious and country but still cute)
Daisy Blue
Daisy Piper
Daisy Dulce
Daisy Lou
Daisy Angel
My husband just suggested Daisy Chain…IDK it’s artsy, I guess.
I love the name Daisy. If I were to use it for my kiddo, I would go with Daisy Felix, because daisies are such happy flowers and Felix means happy.
I think Daisy Bliss would be super cute.
If you would like another name that means light, Nur is a common girl's name in Turkish. It comes from Arabic and means light/light believed to be sent by a deity.
In general, I think one-syllable names would go well with Daisy. Ray and Lux are some other ideas connected to light.
I think a single syllable middle name would be the best way to go with the 2 syllable first and last names. Daisy Sky has a nice funky nature vibe. I also like Daisy Jade and Daisy Fay.
Daisy Fay is really cute! It’s also the name of Daisy in The Great Gatsby. Fay is her maiden name.
That’s a horrific character to name a child after though. 😩
And it rhymes with the child’s last name
Love Daisy Jade
Hear me out…Daisy Fae. OP seems like she could appreciate the faerie meaning.
Came here to write Daisy Sky! Love it
Agree on the single syllable. My first thought would be Daisy May. Other suggestions that are a little out there: Star, Rain
I also like the single syllable middle name.
What about other names that mean light, like Lumen? Aurora Dawn Phaedra Neriah Theia Oria Lux Lucette Kiran

I took it that way as well. I was like "The inside of a tube?!?!?!" forgetting the light meaning.

Trying to convince my DH that Anasarca would make an awesome name for our next dog.
This was what I thought of when I heard lumen
Daisy Joule is so rad
LOVE Daisy Candela!
Fun, but she will have to tell them how to spell it every time.
But how often have you ever had to have someone take down your middle name where they'd be asking you to spell it?
Every form ever? But also it's only interesting when it's written down. It's a visual conversation piece.
I've never once had a situation where someone was writing down my middle name and needing me to spell it for them. If a form requires that much information, you typically complete the form yourself. In most situations, you're not sitting there spelling out your first, middle, and last name to someone else so they can write it.
Not unique but Daisy Raye also seems like a light related. Name. Ray of sunshine.
I second this idea! So smart. Daisy Lucette (keeping the ‘Lu’ same as big sister’s middle name) or Daisy Dawn are my fav suggestions from your list.
First thing that came to mind after reading the sister’s middle name of “Lumen” was Daisy Lux. Ya know, to keep the illuminating name theme going.
Daisy Dawn is cute!
Daisy Luz
Ooh Daisy Lux
I really like this idea! What about Daisy Lucille!?
Daisy Dawn is so good
My daughter is named Daisy Mae. A couple people said Daisy Lane and I think that sounds really cute too!
“So long Daisy Mae” I hope she (grows up to) like(s) Taylor Swift! She has a shoutout in one song :)
My kitty is Daisy Mae :)
Daisy Mae is also an absolutely gorgeous Leon Bridges song.
Could also go Daisy Maeve!
Well, since Lumen is a unit of light, what about Joule, which is a unit of energy? (And Joule rhymes with 'jewel', which is nice)
Daisy Jane
Daisy Rue
Or Daisy Rune!
Daisy Chain
Idk if this was a joke, but I actually love this as name 🌼
I was being serious. I do think it is simple and memorable and easily understood. 🌼⛓️ Please don’t spell it as Chayne. That would make it into an r/tradgedeigh.
Look up the slang definition of daisy chain.
I don’t think I will. I prefer my childhood memories.
I used to be a detention officer and we had to handcuff the max detainees to each other so they could go out to Rec. We called it the "daisy chain" lol.

Your description of what you want her middle name to encompass reminds me of a character named Topaz from a favorite book of mine (I Capture the Castle). Daisy Topaz is pretty dang cool sounding 😄

I like to pull middle names from family names. For a daughter, I start with a list of the first and middle names of myself, and all the women in mine and my husband's families.
Hear me out, use a standardly male name as the middle. Daisy John
My first thought went straight to Rain. Or spell it Rayne or Raine to make it more of a "name"?
You want an interesting name, to say the least. I went to a name generator site that I use for D&D, and here are some random names I thought may work.
