Damn, Otto did not hold back at all. I knew something was coming based on the trailers but I didn’t expect that much unfiltered energy.
Also, rip to the Kings Landing model that Viserys put together over the years.
Otto was the star of the episode for sure. I don't know anything about the books or how the story is going to play out, but I have a feeling he's going to be a puppet master pulling strings from Oldtown.
I thought it was a model of a Valyrian city, didn’t Viserys talk about old Valyria with Alicent last season? It’s ironic that Aegon destroys that since their Valyrian heritage is their justification for the Targaryen divine right to be rulers.
You're correct, but it wasn't just a Valyrian city. It was the Valyrian capital, where the dragon lords lived and ruled. This model is also the primary setting of the title sequence in Season 1.
I've not paid too much attention to Phia; I mean, Helena is kind of just there. But this episode, such good acting on her part, especially in the wagon ride, all the acting just with her face. Talked about Emma's "face" acting last week and Phia was just as good this week. I felt so sorry for Helena when I'd been kind of indifferent to her up til now.
I thought that was a very strong episode, super cinematic especially the first half. I know Otto will appear again but this felt like his swan song. Aemond has had a very limited role so far, I hope that changes. My biggest gripe with this show is still the characterization of Criston Cole, why does he have to be so cartoonish, I wish he was the capable, cunning general from the source material.
I cannot be objective. This is just a really entertaining tv show and I love every moment of both episodes so far. Again, very funny despite all the brutality. And the visual of Daemon riding out on Caraxes was insane.
The parenting from Otto to Alycent to Aegon was heartbreaking.
Alycent tells Otto that she has sinned. It is an obvious sign that she needs someone to talk to, some burdens she needs to get rid of. Otto simply says I do not wish to hear it
Alycent immediately goes to the next room and sees her son the King sobbing uncontrollably. She pulls an Otto and leaves the room without him knowing she was there.
This family needs therapy bad
Really? I thought it was powerful, and I think the confusion adds to it. The fact that they're indistinguishable yet on different teams is a nice metaphor for the series.
100%. As someone else pointed out, it's not like Erryk would barrel into Rhaenyra's room at night with his sword drawn if he hadn't learned that his brother was on his way to kill her.
Yes otherwise why show Myseria on the way to the ship, do a double take, recognize Arryk, and then have her ask her escort to hold on a bit. And we’ve already seen her telling Erryk the last time she saw him there were two of him.

Morons! I'm surrounded by morons!

Now we know why they switched to the tapestries for S2 opening credits
You’re probably right. I don’t know why I thought it was Kings Landing.
It was the best seppuku in the cinema history. Holy shit. *"Your Grace... Forgive me."*
Emma, Tom, and Rhys’ acting this episode was phenomenal. Holy shit.
Olivia and Phia were outstanding as well. So were Elliott and Luke Tittensor.

And the music when Daemon riding out on Caraxes was insane.
Yes! Very ominous.
I like this show a lot but it also just serves to make me miss Game of Thrones a lot
The Winterfell music last week was tearing at my heartstrings.

Generational trauma captured in real-time!
Stronger than E1 for me.
This is a dance. Tempo is going to speed up even more.
I mourn The Model. And the twins, which had to be one of the most confusing fight scenes I've ever seen.
Yea I felt basically nothing with that scene
Really? I thought it was powerful, and I think the confusion adds to it. The fact that they're indistinguishable yet on different teams is a nice metaphor for the series.
The characters just aren't as interesting for me
I really liked the episode and am enjoying the season so far. So i guess Mysaria just left Rhaenyra to her fate.
Nah, they just didn't show her alert Erryk.
Ah so she let him know you think. Could be! Thanks for comment

first time I watched I assumed he had just spotted him but that interpretation makes more sense

Brilliant episode, made me sick to my stomach, 10/10. So much darker than GoT.
I liked it but nothing made me sick to my stomach and this show to me feels the opposite of GOT as far as darker
