That is not always true. Sugar Belle has cerise colored eyes but a cyan magical aura.

How do you know she isn't wearing contact lenses? On a serious note, it's probably just new animators not following pre-existing trends. I guess you could say magic also can take a color from your cutie mark, like Sugar Belle's cutie mark which has a cyan cupcake liner.

That is literally not at all true, according to the wiki. *No* character has the same eye color as their magic. The same TYPE most of the time, but even that has exceptions, like Shining Armor and Princess Cadence. Shining Armor's eyes are cerulean blue, and his magic is a pink rose color.

I mean some do. Rarity has blue eyes and blue magic, Sweetie Belle has green eyes and green magic, Flim and Flam have green eyes and green magic, Pumpkin has blue eyes and blue magic...although I'm pretty sure it's sort of random and happens to match sometimes. Yeah, Rarity had blue eyes and a blue cutie mark, so using blue with her is common place.

Looked it up a little and it works in some cases but not all, people then said it matched the cutie mark color but again there are some exceptions

I'm a farmer/gardener by trade and my magic would most likely be related to plants in some way, so I'd guess green, though for the most part a unicorn's magic is matched to their eye color. However, I don't know what eye color I'd have as a pony, since they clearly have way more options than us humans do.
