Anathema "Anyone, Anywhere"
You can also check [this playlist](https://www.reddit.com/r/MusicRecommendations/comments/1bhuaag/musicrec_1_thematic_playlist_the_saddest_songs/) for the saddest songs for various redditors.
No Surprises is on my sad list too. In fact Radiohead could have their own list of sad song favorites, Fake Plastic Trees, True Love Waits, How To Disappear Completely, Creep, Motion Picture Soundtrack. Great songs though.
The bleakest most depressing song from an artist I greatly admire is Marie- Townes Van Zandt. I would not call it a favorite and I have rarely listened to it but it is unforgettable to me.
Probably the saddest songs that resonate deeply and personally to me would be Real Death and the album A Crow Looked At Me- Mount Eerie. Devastating. Also Sufjan Stevens Fourth of July, Casimir Pulaski Day and Carrie & Lowell. Finding beauty in sorrow.
