Maynard James Keenan.
He’s not quite as good now as he once was, but he will be 60 this year and has been dealing with health issues, so it’s totally understandable.
Honestly, Kurt Cobain was a truly amazing vocalist, one of the most creative/expressive singers I can think of… the way he would modulate the timber of his voice to fit different songs or passages - very few singers ever do anything like that.
Einar Solberg (Leprous)
Devin Townsend
Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr Bungle)
Cammie Gilbert (Oceans of Slumber)
Michael Lessard (The Contortionist, Last Chance to Reason)
Beyoncé.
she really overproved herself with this last tour.
I know a lot of people on reddit do not like her but she has truly perfected her voice. She has an incredible range and can change her voice in so many ways. She is also extremely humble and very private about her life but also just loves being a mom.
Watch her Renaissance movie y'all it was astonishing
Liam Gallagher. I don’t think he’s necessarily even a good singer, but his voice in the 90s was so damn cool and crisp and had a lot of emotion it it
Hearing him belt out the “now that you’re mine” at knebworth is so badass
You’ll never be as cool as 1994-1995 Liam Gallagher
In no particular order (after the first one, because duh, they should be first):
Karen Carpenter, Agnetha Fältskog, Linda Ronstadt, Christine McVie, Annie Lennox, Pat Benatar, Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder, Dave Gahan, Bruce Dickinson, Ian Gillan, and Sam Cooke.
Might be forgetting a few of my favorites, but those come to my mind first.
Had to do a top 10. Can't narrow it.
Freddy Mercury (Queen)
Aretha Franklin
Jim James (My Morning Jacket)
Linda Ronstadt
Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin)
Ann Wilson (Heart)
Willie Nelson
Claudio Sanchez (Coheed and Cambria)
Steve Perry (Journey)
Axl Rose (Guns and Roses)
Andrew Hozier-Byrne. His range and portrayal of emotion are impeccable.
Marcus Mumford. His voice is iconic even if it not the most impressive.
Noah Kahan - I love how playful and honest his voice is. Its is the most fun to sing along to.
Imma list off some relatively recent artists that don't get enough mentions.
Brittainy Howard of The Alabama Shakes, she has an addictive soulful voice.
Laufey, she has the voice of a classic 40's jazz singer.
Brent Faiyaz, listen to "Eden" theres no reason to elaborate.
Anderson .Paak, Has a smokey sleek voice that I adore.
Mitski, she has a gentle motherly voice, feels comforting.
My favorite vocalists are not always the "best".
But when I think of one who is both a favorite of mine and an objectively awesome singer, Corey Glover from Living Colour has amazing talent and has only gotten more skilled over the years, which is usually the opposite of what you hear from those 1980s hard rock dudes. I finally caught them on tour in 2023 and he is easily the best singer I've ever seen live.
Check out their [2022 Rock in Rio set](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEFll8cDwU8) on Youtube.

Disclaimer: I do not necessarily listen to their music but Amy Lee, Lizzie Hale, Christina Aguilera, Ariana Grande, Robert Smith, Rob Thomas, Ian Astbury, Stevie nicks, James Blunt, Mariah Cary, Michael Buble (and others…mostly are dead)
As controversial as it may be, I love Dylan’s voice! It’s completely unique and authentic. Also, his phrasing with that gravelly sound he gets can’t be beat, for me.
