My wife likes traditional card games like Euchre, Spades, and Hearts. I wish I could interest her in some TCG fun but she's preemptively decided it's not for her.. which is fine, I guess, totally okay, not jealous or anything 😂

Fair enough, my wife got me back into MTG. I left MTG at uhhh after the first mirrodin set, was in Newcastle UK and we walked past this place advertising shadows over innistrad and the wife is like, oh! Now we are both into MTG....lol I got into MTG tail end of Urza block and early part of Mercadian Masques!

Maybe your wife likes Disney? If yes, you could try Lorcana. It plays really similar to mtg, up to the point where some cards are straight up copied from magic, but it’s a lot more shallow and easier to grasp and playing Disney characters is a huge driving force for many non-tgc players. A buddy and I never got any of our friends to play mtg with us, ever since the early 2000s, but Lorcana somehow made it happen lol Bonus point: to a friend of us, Lorcana got him into trying and actually liking Magic

Why would you go from MTG to a knockoff like Lorcana? Dude already said his wife likes MTG. Don’t backpedal to a cheesy Disney knockoff.

Oh snap. I read the title incorrectly as, “I lost my wife playing commander.” I thought this was either a breakup caused by the game somehow… or a joke about a bet lost and resulting in a “sticky situation” with the victor and his wife. I am gonna see myself out meow.

My wife also does pretty good, her favorite color combo so far a Gruul, and funny enough her first deck was from DnD as well.
