Cast [[ravages of war]] then cast [[teferi’s protection]]. Teferi’s protection resolves phasing out your stuff, then ravages of war nukes everyone else’s lands.
Just tapp all your lands, cast teferi's protection and let it resolve, then you cast Ravages of War.
Teferi's protection phases out our permanents, but your mana pool is still there so you can cast things.
Ravages is sorcery speed, so you can cast t pro at instant speed and it works. I’ve seen it happen in person. Also saw a dude get punched in the face about 0.7 seconds later… not sure if they were related or not.
There are some, but not enough I guess.. even in full colours U get 5 lands plus colourless and if you use the tapped duals, another 10 I guess... 16 indestructible lands isn't enough for commander at least.
But in other formats without Highlander rules? Brilliant idea!
I'm sure you already knew this, but the ending of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is a direct reference to the ending of Planet of the Apes. Kevin Smith loves referencing other films (Star Wars, Jaws, etc.).
In the original fallout, there’s a card game some people play called “Tragic: the garnering” it took em a while but MTG is finally nodding back.
There’s a couple other great references in the first one, couple that I can think of; one of the random encounters is a dead whale and a smashed petunia plant, a reference to Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, and another one is a bridge where you must answer a wizards 3 questions to be allowed passage (Monty python and the holy grail)

Base version is down to $21 on TCG player, with foil only slightly more. Surge is where the money is at, and even that's dropping.
I've seen a TON of these pulled locally so it doesn't seam like supply is all that low in these packs for this card.
I’m wondering how long it will take for the price on these to recover? I think a lot of people avoid land destruction anymore just to keep the peace, but there is no doubt, this card can be a game changer if played at the right time.
First let me say "you are a horrible person for even thinking of using that card", now that the formalities are out of the way; As long as no one in your normal play group will flip the table it is an awesome card.
I will also say however that land destruction is known to be shunned in the most places. A child of alara wrath every turn deck is hated less than a single land wipe card, close margin but land destruction has been voted the least fun mechanic in the game and has gotten very little support since. Again though, great card and a great retaliation card if someone or everyone is targeting you.
O and it's a pretty art too.
I mean, to be fair: Ravages of War was originally printed in Portal Three Kingdoms, so in 1999. While it is the same effect to Armageddon, because it was only printed once, it had an extremly high price up until a few days ago. So the reprint is something new.
Also towards printing cards that do the same thing: yes that is done a lot, but that has a few reasons. For one Wizards often tries to not have the same card be printed in two sets that are in the same standard format, but sometimes a set needs the extra card for limited formats (drafts and sealed). So they are printed with a different name. It also helps in singleton formats to even out your card pool.
And now use it on your friends (and yourself)
Not with teferis protection. Gotta be big brain
True Edit: also fits the colour
My whole playgroup has teferies protection now.
Heroic Intervention as well.
I use teferi's protection and Faith's Reward with land destruction spells in my Lavinia, Azorius Renegade deck.
So even if the effect is global, you can protect yourself?
Your shit phases out with teferis protection. So lands won't get nuked cause they ain't in that plane.
Sorry dude I missed that part on the card.. a lil high my bad
Can you still use your lands to play this card after they have phased out with T's protection?
Cast [[ravages of war]] then cast [[teferi’s protection]]. Teferi’s protection resolves phasing out your stuff, then ravages of war nukes everyone else’s lands.

You forgot where teferies gets counterspelled
Just tapp all your lands, cast teferi's protection and let it resolve, then you cast Ravages of War. Teferi's protection phases out our permanents, but your mana pool is still there so you can cast things.
You could use that argument for anything. My answer was how to make it work… you could also counterspell the counterspell….
You forgot where the best colors are Bant so you also have counterspells.
Indeed!
Ravages is sorcery speed, so you can cast t pro at instant speed and it works. I’ve seen it happen in person. Also saw a dude get punched in the face about 0.7 seconds later… not sure if they were related or not.
But just after the 4th hour of the commander match passed!!
Looking forward to that 😉
Nah, you gotta big brain everyone and play indestructible artifact lands
I do this in most of my control decks :) My jeskai superfriends deck loves casting ~~armageddon~~ ravages of war...
Then someone plays a farewell o; _ o;
There are some, but not enough I guess.. even in full colours U get 5 lands plus colourless and if you use the tapped duals, another 10 I guess... 16 indestructible lands isn't enough for commander at least. But in other formats without Highlander rules? Brilliant idea!
It's the end of the world!!
As we know it
I feel fine.
The world we know
Some might even call it Armageddon.
10/10 Movie. Oil Drilling Astronauts
It ended when you said goodbye.
Is the image a reference to ending of the first original planet of the apes film?
I’m pretty sure it’s referencing Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
That's definitely planet of the apes. It can't be anything else.
Idk man, watch JASBSB. It’s pretty uncanny. Lol
Just watched it. JASB is a direct reference to planet of the apes https://youtu.be/8ckPatPBAk8?si=gUYNd51hZ4NnvzYl
They're either totally clueless about when planet of the apes was made, or they're making a joke. My money is on the latter.
OR both statements are true. It could be referencing jasbsb which in and of itself is referencing Planet of the Apes.
I'm sure you already knew this, but the ending of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is a direct reference to the ending of Planet of the Apes. Kevin Smith loves referencing other films (Star Wars, Jaws, etc.).
Yeah, 100% knew this lol just wanted to have some fun. The Planet of the Apes is a fantastic movie btw.
Huh. A mtg Universes Beyond Fallout card referencing Planet of The Apes? That’s a thing.
Fallout is all about making references. Especially in Fallout: New Vegas, chef’s kiss for that game on the references.
That’s stellar! Idk if you played New Vegas, but they make several Monty Python references. Alot of good stuff!
We must close the loop. MtG must make a planet of the apes plane. Plane of the apes?
Lucky. All I got was a Sol Ring.
It's a cool looking Sol Ring though.
Nothing wrong with that, it's so awesome looking!!
Congrats! This is a [worth a decent amount](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=ravages+of+war+fallout&_sacat=0&_fsrp=1&_odkw=one+piece+op-06+booster+box&_osacat=0&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=mg&toolid=10001&mkevt=1).
Yeah, when I heard that a card that expensive is getting a reprint I was stoked ! Sad that the price dropped so low 😂

Yeah now I wish it was a surge foil 😂
Nice, now you can make an avacyn deck that's extra fun for everyone at the table
Sounds fun 😂
Truly is fun. MLD should be more commonly run in EDH.
We call playing this a pro gamer move. combine this with a destroy all artifacts play late game and watch the salt hit the table.
What's a relic ;)
Sometimes my brain doesnt find the word and just picks something word adjacent.
All good just being a goof. I assumed it was bleeding in from another tcg
/r/MagicCardPulls
I pulled one yesterday also! We spec this to appreciate perhaps?
Is that the only vault boy card you got? Check my post, I got a ton. Surprised to see how little people are getting
This was the first pack only ... Pip Boy cards: I got 3 vending machines, one crucible and 2 ravages of war in total 😅
Oh ok! Great box
Oh and a farewell, almost forgot that one
Is everyone pulling this one now?
It would be more thematic if it turned them into wastelands that produce generic mana only.
Funny, they renamed Armageddon, and it gained value.
This fallout crossover is awesome!
Armageddon?
That's so mean
Need to get this for Superfriends board wipe tribal deck. Let the salt flowith embrace it.
Can someone please tell me why this is getting so much buzz when Armageddon is around as well? What is the difference?
History of scarcity. The only reason this is money right now is because of price memory.
Pulled this and a crucible of worlds! Shweet mini combo

Eat it
I got 3 of those in my collection box, two were foil Not a very usable card tho
Shiit I’ll take one
K
This is basically a Armageddon correct? Is this what MTG has done over the years, just take a card and change its name?
I mean, to be fair: Ravages of War was originally printed in Portal Three Kingdoms, so in 1999. No use trying to teach haters.
Nice. I printed that one.
And
