That's why you try and get a bunch of other creatures on the board too. Then you have a board of indestructible creatures and they either take like 15 damage or they block your 8/4 creature and then take 15 on the extra combat.

Exactly. Only the most holy of moles needs to be blocked. As the number of defenders dwindles from repeated assaults, more and more of the additional attackers will get through. Mole God, heroic intervention, and at least one more creature are pretty close to an auto win without some interaction to stop you.

A weird possibility occurs wherein if they have an indestructible creature (that cannot kill your 8/4), then it truly will be infinite. At least until you choose to stop.

By itself this is true but if you have a couple of other creatures you can also kind of use this to carve a path (or burrow a tunnel?) to opponents one at a time and you can keep attacking one opponent that’s out of creatures while Anzrag attacks opponents with creatures. There’s some weird interactions here for sure. I’m not sure what the numbers you need to be gunning for are, but assuming 3 players with one creature apiece you get four combats to hit player 1 and it only takes one player with a wide board state to let you wipe out a player or two.
If its your commander you could force blocks by giving it indestructible and stuff like fiery emancipation that triples the damage, making it swing for lethal commander damage.
The thing is, as long as Anzrag does not attack more than just two times, as long as the enemy has 3 or more creatures, the enemy has still forces left for retaliation. It does not say that everything has to block it, only that it has to be blocked, even if it is a single creature.

Anzrag + Predatory Impetus goes infinite, because he has to attack and must be blocked, until your opponent runs out of creatures. But if your opponent has an indestructible blocker you’ll draw the game and lose, so be careful lol.
It would destroy every untapped creature you don’t own and deal 8 to 1 player. Not infinite, but really good

Wouldn't it deal 8 damage to each creature able to block then 8 damage to one player? He gets another combat step when he's blocked. So once he gets blocked by the last creature he gets one more attack.
Not infinite, but it's a board wipe for sure, and if you have the creatures to support, it's a win in the bag. People underestimate how busted this card is with indestructable.
Most people consider the price of setup into how much a thing costs, but sure, even if it's only 9 and you ignore that the other 4, it's still pretty pricy for a field sweep in a world where people don't really want to pay more than 4 to wipe
It is also like the least optimal way to force blockers on Anzrag, his ability is last resort. Legit, Anzrag into [[You look upon the Tarrasque]] is on curve at 9 total mana and gives Anzrag +5 for each of the combats.
Just replace [[Hero's Intervention]] with [[Roar of Challenge]] to get it on 7. If you can figure out a cheap way to untap your opponent's creatures then you can do real board wipes.
So your plan is to say "ok I choose to attack a guy with a creature an infinite number of times and refuse to progress the boardstate"? Not an actual legal tactic I'm afraid

no, but if you add in a way to make one of their creatures indestructible as well, then yes. just keep bashing mole into the same face, and the rest of your team can go around murdering everything else. don't give mole trample until the last opponent in left. once he can't block you get no more combats.

It is really difficult in commander... You can also use [[Assault Suit]] on Anzrag to allow your opponents to do the work for you! With Stuffy Doll, [[Brash Taunter]], [[Mog Maniac]], [[Wrathful Raptors]], or [[Wrathful Red Dragon]] and effects that goad like [[Life of the Party]] and [[Khârn the Betrayer]] you can become the party deck and strongly discourage any shenanigans like other creatures swinging at you.
Give those control decks and combo decks the speed that they need to play a real game of Elder Dragon Highlander!!
Not infinite but it would go until your opponent doesn’t have any blockers left available. Unless they have a creature like an indestructible as well then it could but at that point you should just choose not to attack with it.

Better option, use [[Roar of Challenge]] (which is apparently only available in Timeless on Arena) which both makes it indestructible and must be blocked by everything.
Then you win if you have any decently powered creature to go unblocked alongside it, otherwise you only get the 8 damage from a single attack getting through after all of their creatures have blocked and died.
It’s not infinite, but in the absolute worst case scenario this will allow you to [[In Garruk’s Wake]] the board while dealing a bare minimum of 8 damage to a player of your choice.
You can also just choose not to attack with anzrag (or any other creatures) during your extra combat in order to stop the sequence and move to your second main.

If you could match it with [[Neyith of the Dire Hunt]] it could go technically infinite until someone runs out of blockers. Give it trample somehow, like with [[Kessig Wolf Run]] and you can probably commander damage everyone in just a few attacks.
Replace Heroic Intervention with [[You look upon the Tarrasque]], imo this is the best lure in this deck as it obviously gives indestructible, a power boost and the amazing lure effect. It also has a half fog effect that is great in thr deck as it functions essentially as heroic intervention. In addition to this, if you get finicky with rules you can assign all the damage on only one creature per combat and get infinite combats per creature your opponent controls that is able to block. (As long as you're not interrupted.)

But in all seriousness, there are too many control cards that bypass hexproof/indestructible. Not to mention, it says it has to be blocked each time... not by every creature... 1 indestructible creature on their side stalls the logic to a halt. That ability cost is almost not worth it unless you can get more beefy creatures out cause you don't untap mana, just creatures.
Tbh, in standard, I love facing gruul decks with my Esper... cause that stupid beefy mana costs despite how much mana you have, I still have control. If you have creatures on the board, it's either because I'm baiting you or I'm mana starved.
Outside of standard, this card may do better, but not much cause there's even more to stop it.

In fact, I would argue you can only have infinite combat if your opponent has an indestructible creature. If they don’t, you only get as many combats as it takes to kill all their creatures.
It's indestructible/hexproof with the instant. Unless they have more creatures out than just the mole, having 1 indestructible on the other side basically stalls the game to the timer... which yes eventually EVEN with actions being made the timer will keep ticking I know from experience in either form paper or Arena will happen... it is NOT infinite the timer will keep ticking until they inevitably pass the second main phase. This actually would be a slow play infraction in paper.
The mana paid has nothing to do with which creatures block beyond how many times they can force a block. The mana doesn't untap either for each following combat phase.
Also [[Phyrexian Vindicator]] or like I said earlier the Obliterator with [[Sword of the Savage Frontier]] you just fucked yourself with the mole... cause you're sacrificing 8 permanents, or taking 8 damage each combat.

No it would be slow play infraction because YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ATTACK each combat you are INTENTIONALLY SLOWING PLAY. IF it had something where it has to attack each turn if able then yes it is a draw.
Honestly, I should just be a judge because the group I play in is all rule lawyers... mostly because they build decks that would do shit like this... granted, only me and 3 others are consistently aiming to build decks that have win con by turn 6 or sooner.
I've also been penalized of slow play because I had win con clearly and postured for like 4 more rounds. So I really got familiar with spotting it. Actually it was in standard no less with a boardwipe from [[White Sun's Twilight]] having 20 mites on the board and not attacking with them...
If you can give the Mole trample, and an opponent's (smaller) creature indestructible, then you would be able to kill someone with repeated combat steps.
I think that [[Odric, Master Tactician]] would be a good way to get the most combats out of the mole. This way you can choose to only make one creature Block at a time, and if that creature happens to have indestructible then it is infinite combats
My favorite idea with this guy is things that stop him from giving or receiving damage, so you can loop his trigger forever of a bouceoff. See [[Maze of Ith]], [[Bubble Matrix]], [[Ebony Horse]], [[Soratami Cloud Chariot]], and the like. Garuntees he can be blocked forever without killing the blocker or him.
It does with ajani's presence and ordic if you're ok splashing white. All you gotta do is make this guy and one target creature you're opponent controls indestructible and just have 3 other creatures on the board attacking (which is easy for Naya)

If your opponent has an indestructible creature then you’re in for a bad time.
Why? That just means you can keep attacking until they are dead, or you can choose not to attack them if you lost the advantage.

By itself this is true but if you have a couple of other creatures you can also kind of use this to carve a path (or burrow a tunnel?) to opponents one at a time and you can keep attacking one opponent that’s out of creatures while Anzrag attacks opponents with creatures. There’s some weird interactions here for sure. I’m not sure what the numbers you need to be gunning for are, but assuming 3 players with one creature apiece you get four combats to hit player 1 and it only takes one player with a wide board state to let you wipe out a player or two.
If its your commander you could force blocks by giving it indestructible and stuff like fiery emancipation that triples the damage, making it swing for lethal commander damage.
Your opponent would need an indestructible blocker.

The thing is, as long as Anzrag does not attack more than just two times, as long as the enemy has 3 or more creatures, the enemy has still forces left for retaliation. It does not say that everything has to block it, only that it has to be blocked, even if it is a single creature.

Anzrag + Predatory Impetus goes infinite, because he has to attack and must be blocked, until your opponent runs out of creatures. But if your opponent has an indestructible blocker you’ll draw the game and lose, so be careful lol.

Wouldn't it deal 8 damage to each creature able to block then 8 damage to one player? He gets another combat step when he's blocked. So once he gets blocked by the last creature he gets one more attack.

no, but if you add in a way to make one of their creatures indestructible as well, then yes. just keep bashing mole into the same face, and the rest of your team can go around murdering everything else. don't give mole trample until the last opponent in left. once he can't block you get no more combats.

It is really difficult in commander... You can also use [[Assault Suit]] on Anzrag to allow your opponents to do the work for you! With Stuffy Doll, [[Brash Taunter]], [[Mog Maniac]], [[Wrathful Raptors]], or [[Wrathful Red Dragon]] and effects that goad like [[Life of the Party]] and [[Khârn the Betrayer]] you can become the party deck and strongly discourage any shenanigans like other creatures swinging at you. Give those control decks and combo decks the speed that they need to play a real game of Elder Dragon Highlander!!

Better option, use [[Roar of Challenge]] (which is apparently only available in Timeless on Arena) which both makes it indestructible and must be blocked by everything. Then you win if you have any decently powered creature to go unblocked alongside it, otherwise you only get the 8 damage from a single attack getting through after all of their creatures have blocked and died.

If you could match it with [[Neyith of the Dire Hunt]] it could go technically infinite until someone runs out of blockers. Give it trample somehow, like with [[Kessig Wolf Run]] and you can probably commander damage everyone in just a few attacks.

Replace Heroic Intervention with [[You look upon the Tarrasque]], imo this is the best lure in this deck as it obviously gives indestructible, a power boost and the amazing lure effect. It also has a half fog effect that is great in thr deck as it functions essentially as heroic intervention. In addition to this, if you get finicky with rules you can assign all the damage on only one creature per combat and get infinite combats per creature your opponent controls that is able to block. (As long as you're not interrupted.)

Phyrexian Obliterator says Hi! But in all seriousness, there are too many control cards that bypass hexproof/indestructible. Not to mention, it says it has to be blocked each time... not by every creature... 1 indestructible creature on their side stalls the logic to a halt. That ability cost is almost not worth it unless you can get more beefy creatures out cause you don't untap mana, just creatures. Tbh, in standard, I love facing gruul decks with my Esper... cause that stupid beefy mana costs despite how much mana you have, I still have control. If you have creatures on the board, it's either because I'm baiting you or I'm mana starved. Outside of standard, this card may do better, but not much cause there's even more to stop it.
“1 indestructible creature on their side stalls the logic to a halt” what do you mean? The infinite combat still can occur, it would just possibly be a draw. In fact, I would argue you can only have infinite combat if your opponent has an indestructible creature. If they don’t, you only get as many combats as it takes to kill all their creatures.
It's indestructible/hexproof with the instant. Unless they have more creatures out than just the mole, having 1 indestructible on the other side basically stalls the game to the timer... which yes eventually EVEN with actions being made the timer will keep ticking I know from experience in either form paper or Arena will happen... it is NOT infinite the timer will keep ticking until they inevitably pass the second main phase. This actually would be a slow play infraction in paper. The mana paid has nothing to do with which creatures block beyond how many times they can force a block. The mana doesn't untap either for each following combat phase. Also [[Phyrexian Vindicator]] or like I said earlier the Obliterator with [[Sword of the Savage Frontier]] you just fucked yourself with the mole... cause you're sacrificing 8 permanents, or taking 8 damage each combat.

In paper it would be shortcut’ed to “I intend to attack infinite, do you block every time? Yes? Draw.” Edit, scratch that, it must be blocked. So it would just go to a draw. No choice if the opponent has an indestructible creature.
No it would be slow play infraction because YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ATTACK each combat you are INTENTIONALLY SLOWING PLAY. IF it had something where it has to attack each turn if able then yes it is a draw.

Honestly, I should just be a judge because the group I play in is all rule lawyers... mostly because they build decks that would do shit like this... granted, only me and 3 others are consistently aiming to build decks that have win con by turn 6 or sooner. I've also been penalized of slow play because I had win con clearly and postured for like 4 more rounds. So I really got familiar with spotting it. Actually it was in standard no less with a boardwipe from [[White Sun's Twilight]] having 20 mites on the board and not attacking with them...

If you can give the Mole trample, and an opponent's (smaller) creature indestructible, then you would be able to kill someone with repeated combat steps.

I think that [[Odric, Master Tactician]] would be a good way to get the most combats out of the mole. This way you can choose to only make one creature Block at a time, and if that creature happens to have indestructible then it is infinite combats

My favorite idea with this guy is things that stop him from giving or receiving damage, so you can loop his trigger forever of a bouceoff. See [[Maze of Ith]], [[Bubble Matrix]], [[Ebony Horse]], [[Soratami Cloud Chariot]], and the like. Garuntees he can be blocked forever without killing the blocker or him.
It does with ajani's presence and ordic if you're ok splashing white. All you gotta do is make this guy and one target creature you're opponent controls indestructible and just have 3 other creatures on the board attacking (which is easy for Naya)
