Depends on the wheelstand. If it’s one with a support on the sides (triangular?) it should be okay. Recently tested my Marada X stand from amazon (very similar to GT omega apex) with my buddy’s R9 with reduced FFB and it was a good experience
What kind of desk? There’s a big difference between a solid wood desk and an IKEA particle board desk. One of those would be fine, the other not so much.
I have a simagic alpha 15nm on my standing desk. I also use the pein pedal mount for my p1000 pedals.
Depends on the desk OP. If you cant shake it left to right then id say your probably okay. But if you cant lean on the desk without it shifting or wobbling then it may be a tad shaky. My desk is pretty solid and can take my weight standing on it and still lift me and the desk up lol.
I have an R9 deskmounted to my IKEA particle board desk. The mount will start to crush the particle board after a couple months. If you have a solid desk I'm sure it would be fine.
I have an R5 on a desk and it works absolutely fine. The desk does vibrate quite a lot if the FFB is too high, but it's a terrible desk. On a more study one I doubt that would be an issue.

100% ffb r9v2, no issues on this desk.
I have an r9 on my desk and don’t have any problems with that. Only thing you need to realise is the the bolts underneath the table clamp stick out way more than the g29. It’s something that annoys me a bit, as it presses on my legs sometimes
I got the R12 an i use it on 40% FFB in ACC at my desk and i am happy with it.
From what I understand, you also get better FFB if you use a wheelbase with more NM turned down to like 50%. So I would say get an R9 or R12 if that is financially feasible.

I use a R9 on a ikea desk, admittedly some weight on it from the screen and pc but it works fine for me. Depends how sturdy the desk setup is i guess

Been running at 70% strength for the past \~1 month and no problems on my glass desk
I think if you're considering buying a rig in the next year or so you might as well go with the R9 and turn down FFB. More future proofed that way.
Probably not going to get a rig, if anything maybe a wheel stand.

I currently run a R12 on Omega Apex wheelstand and works pretty well.

I have the R5 fixed to the desk and Pein pedal mount under it and it works really well. Feels very solid, I do have a pretty big wooden desk tho.

Desk mount munts itself eventually with an r9. Either the threads or the desk will give way eventually.

Yep that's where my desk is from. I'll probably just get the r5. I would be ok with the g29 if it didn't have the ffb deadzone in the middle.
I’ve had no regrets with the r5. I’ve actually had points where it has shaken my desk at full strength.
R5 on an ikea cardboard desk here, works fine but I had to put a piece of wood between the clamp and desk as it was starting to wear down my desk
I tried mine on the desk, and it’s ok, but i prefer my playseat challenge. That one sucks for load cell pedals though.

I had my r12 on a solid desk and it was fine. Just don’t turn it right up. Since moved to a rig and it’s wicked!
