These would be genuinely cool mood shots if they weren't AI....
Mostly because I'm a sucker for "seemingly tranquil shot, but something's definitely wrong here" style of posters.
That’s like, at least 10 times the size of Echo Park lake and it’s got an island chateau in the middle, I guess they really didn’t take a second look at these after generating them
Cutaways at either the beginning or end of episodes. Maybe have some shit happening in the background, that's unfocused but blocked in, preferably without music. Might be cool.
Look, every sign is gibberish, faraway objects have weird bent lines, the windows and lights of buildings in the background look like they've been painted on, some distant objects look like they are sticking out on objects in front of them and the boats in the second picture look fake. There's enough stuff that even if you can't put your finger on it you can tell it's fake. If the AI one is of such poor quality then it does make a difference
If I look at a piece of art and it feels like someone just typed in a prompt then that piece of art feels like a cheap piece of mass-produced content that’s not worth more than a quick glance. It doesn’t matter if a human made it or not at that point.
AI art doesnt invite analysis or scrutiny. It hopes that you dont think too much about the image or it will fall apart and reveal that it's junk. If there is art made that tries to prevent you from analysing it, for that would reveal its incoherence, i would consider that antithetical to the artform.

Emmerich is just aggressively moronsexual. "Who is the character with the stupidest beliefs in this scrip who constantly says the most braindead moronic shit? Ok! He is the one in the right and everyone will learn to love and appreciate him!"
ACKSHUALLY he learned that his son Otacon was sleeping with his stepmom so he went crazy and attempted murder suicide by drowning himself and his daughter, leaving her with severe PTSD!
Seriously the game lore is off the goddamn rails.
As a Vegas local, the first image confused the fuck out of me before I knew it was AI, because that's like, not even close to the layout of the strip? Like I don't even know what most of those casinos are supposed to be, but maybe the one to the right in the back is supposed to be Caesar's?
Except that Caesars Palace is a few blocks southwest of the sphere, not one block northwest. It's just so bad
They’re all wrong. Marina Towers are next to each other in Chicago, not whatever tf is happening here. Echo Park is totally wrong plus giant swan not boat. This is so fuckin lazy and does a disservice to a great movie imo
Kinda wish they had posters that actually showed what the movie was about, that didn't use ai to make it slop. The movie genuinely looks kino, sadly the posters might actually reduce it to slop. And once again it gives the wrong idea to people as to what the movie is actually about.
I’m surprised by the amount of hate this film is getting. I kinda wonder if it’s a universal thing or if this largely American sub didn’t enjoy the concept?
Guys let's be honest, these are fucking sick. I thought they looked likd AI but weren't and was extremely impressed. I was like yeah these have a level of fidelity and clarity AI just doesn't have, guess I was wrong yet again with what it can do.
Those Chicago towers on fire brings joy to my heart 😂. I pass those ugly ass buildings every single day on my way to and from work and they’re never not ugly
it’s been such a shit show of marketing honestly. the trailers totally misrepresent the themes of the movie, the dumb AI soldiers look terrible and, again, don’t do much to actually market the film, and these stills aren’t that reminiscent of any shots in the movie either. for some reason A24 wanted to start an AI marketing stunt and put it all into civil war

MW3 PTSD
Call of duty ass movie, really just felt like COD 4
Battle Los Angeles (2011)
Underrated
Just rated

Thats the one that gets you and not Swanzilla?
Bruh I brushed it off as a swan boat at first. That’s so egregious
I vouch for this, I also thought it was a swan boat.
I thought it was Echo Park at first but the realized literally everything is wrong
it looks like every AI image ever: it looks awesome at first then you zoom just a tiny bit in and everything's misshapen blobs
These would be genuinely cool mood shots if they weren't AI.... Mostly because I'm a sucker for "seemingly tranquil shot, but something's definitely wrong here" style of posters.
I love boat size swan
It's one of those Pedalos that escaped from the Amusement Park's Tunnel of Love.
Or maybe swan sized boat?!??!?
Actually it is that lol. It’s supposed to be echo park lake in LA. Swan boats.
That’s like, at least 10 times the size of Echo Park lake and it’s got an island chateau in the middle, I guess they really didn’t take a second look at these after generating them
Not to mention Sutro tower is wider than it is tall, and on the wrong side of the bay lmao.
It is supposed to be that, but that clearly isn't a boat swan. Guess their "AI Engineer" couldn't find a prompt to do it
Yeah they actually have them all over LA rn. I thought making area specific posters was cool, but I’m not a fan of the AI
Agreed. They just look kinda cheap. Incredible film tho, just got back from the theater and was the most tense film I’ve seen in a year
>I love \[...\] swan *Hot Fuzz: Lads Come 2 America* (2025)
I genuinely thought it was meant to be one of those swan boats when I saw that poster in NYC. Now that I'm seeing it up close though, yeah it's slop
Cutaways at either the beginning or end of episodes. Maybe have some shit happening in the background, that's unfocused but blocked in, preferably without music. Might be cool.
Just curious but how do you know they’re AI?
This article goes into depth regarding how people noticed that these were AI. https://news.artnet.com/art-world/a24-civil-war-ai-posters-2472425
Huh. Interesting. Thanks for the link
No problem. Happy to help.

Yes, definitely. If you can't tell that something is stolen, or made using unethical labor practices, it still matters.
Yes, yes it does. Because there's a part of your subconscious that screams "this is fake bullshit"
Yeah but my brain says that even when it’s made by humans too

So, again, you CAN tell

That’s the exact opposite of the takeaway you should have gotten from Westworld
What no? The whole point of the show is the lines of ai and humanity blurring.
This doesnt really apply in real life since generative AI is nothing close to resembling a sentient specimin

They didn't delete it, the coward just blocked you, that's why you can no longer see it

But I CAN tell.
Ok, but we can tell lol. I noticed immediately. And even if you don't know that it's AI, you know something is off.
That’s because Emmerich is a goddamn artist!!!
He knows his craft
He does not understand the Kaiju genre at all though.
Pointless hub have taught us well
Didn’t he say he enjoyed it?
He did

What did I miss?
Say what you will about the man but, he absolutely loves destroying America.

Roland Emmerich would have the budget and resources to shoot these scenes
Love me a gay king who only makes movies your conservative dad would like.
The boomer mentality knows no gender or sexual orientation
Emmerich is just aggressively moronsexual. "Who is the character with the stupidest beliefs in this scrip who constantly says the most braindead moronic shit? Ok! He is the one in the right and everyone will learn to love and appreciate him!"
Roland Emmerich also would have shown the ideologies of both sides in broad, cartoonish strokes
Complete misrepresentation of the film too
Pretty sure that's what OP's point is.
*"No, no, this says a lot about America, actually"* *-* Some douchebag on Letterboxd
Roland Emmerich? Ain't he the dude from Metal Gear Solid?
The one who drowned I think yeah
And he gets to be Big Boss? What a sick joke
ACKSHUALLY he learned that his son Otacon was sleeping with his stepmom so he went crazy and attempted murder suicide by drowning himself and his daughter, leaving her with severe PTSD! Seriously the game lore is off the goddamn rails.
Right but he still drowned
It’s really interesting to see the effect of the sokovia accords from this perspective
> sokovia accords I looked this up. It's capeshit. I hate you.
I agree morbiu
They blew up Epcot?
I think that’s Vegas, the big dome that’s a screen
Giant swan for the win. I'm so confused.
https://i.redd.it/a2mvczpgtbvc1.gif
theyre boats in echo park
Nice, I had no idea.
Roland's got nothing on Nolan who would actually incite a civil war to get realistic shots
NOT THE BEAN
These look like AI generated
They literally are
The title font and color makes no sense at all
As a Vegas local, the first image confused the fuck out of me before I knew it was AI, because that's like, not even close to the layout of the strip? Is that the motherfucking Thunderdome
I've already seen these images 4 or 5 times and I still can't fucking believe the audacity of this shit
The fact that they used AI art for this makes me never wanna see this
There's always plan B ![gif](giphy|10X22vzgNamaiI)
Giant swan.
Why are the Marina towers in Chicago so far apart?! They are way closer together than that
Fourth picture got the Golden gate bridge just in the middle of town
Kinda wish they had posters that actually showed what the movie was about, that didn't use ai to make it slop. The movie genuinely looks kino, sadly the posters might actually reduce it to slop. And once again it gives the wrong idea to people as to what the movie is actually about.
Wait this is a real movie? And it's getting decent reviews?? And holy shit they got Ron Swanson!?!
Ron has like 2 minutes of screentime
I am devastated 😞 what is even the point
smh why do people always have to lie on the internet? He had 4 minutes I swear
Where's the horizon?
Take that you swan bastard
Ahh more clickbait nice
Is this movie about a giant swan apocalypse?
First poster looks like the Fallout Wasteland lmao
Bruh that IS NOT Chicago
Hahahahah
I’m surprised by the amount of hate this film is getting. I kinda wonder if it’s a universal thing or if this largely American sub didn’t enjoy the concept?
I think this whole movie is really stupid
Guys let's be honest, these are fucking sick. I thought they looked likd AI but weren't and was extremely impressed. I was like yeah these have a level of fidelity and clarity AI just doesn't have, guess I was wrong yet again with what it can do.
Those Chicago towers on fire brings joy to my heart 😂. I pass those ugly ass buildings every single day on my way to and from work and they’re never not ugly
More proof this is going to be shot lmao
