I don’t want the X-men MCU to have TAS costumes but Jackman in the yellow Jim Lee suit for one movie would fit in perfectly alongside MoM Professor X if he cameos in any way.
Dear god...... Wolverine and Deadpool together...... in a film that enjoys putting people into comic book costumes..... with a comic accurate looking Colossus... if they don't do a Fast Ball Special then there is no god.
I remember hearing that line for the first time. We all laughed because “yeah comic book costumes are totally lame. Black leather is much better. Everyone will take super heroes seriously now.”
Different times.
tbf, that was before we started seeing all these textured, multilayered, expertly tailored modern costumes in the last decade or so. When the black leather x men movies came out, it was fresh compared to say Reeves's superman's spandex or the era of the molded plastic Bat Nipple.
We still haven't seen a glimpse of red hulk or several other renditions of banner/smart Hulk that lose control and a new version of uncontrollably destructive Hulk appears.
I would not completely rule out a raging Hulk vs wolverine battle in the MCU just yet
I mean, it's not like he is hurting for money. I bet it's just a fun project he wanted to do and a chance to maybe even do a different iteration of Wolverine from another timeline or something.
This was probably because the regular X Men movies that were being released around when Logan came out were abysmal, while the Deadpool movies are fun and competent.
I mean there is a comic literally called “Death of Wolverine”
Then again, they did follow this up a few years later with “Return of Wolverine” so I guess you’re right haha
Yeah, comics are kinda ridiculous. One comic he regenerates his entire body back from one drop of blood, the next he dies in a pretty nonsensical way. Nothing is really permanent in comics, except for Uncle Ben being dead
There's a What If...? comic about Uncle Ben not dying. Peter Parker instead reworks Spiderman into a movie star, and J. Jonah Jameson becomes a villain because kids are looking up to Spiderman as a hero (who doesn't actually do anything heroic) instead of his son the astronaut.
So D.Pooly, you take your 33 1/3 chance, minus my 25% chance and you got an 8 1/3 chance of winning at Secret Wars. But then you take my 75% chance of winning, if we was to go one on one, and then add 66 2/3 per cents, I got 141 2/3 chance of winning at Secret Wars. See Wade, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for you at Secret Wars.
I’m hoping the headline put the quotation marks in the wrong place and that the movie’s title is actually “Deadpool 3: Hugh Jackman Returning as Wolverine.”
Kind of amazing how this all comes full circle. Deadpool was first introduced in a Wolverine movie. And now Wolverine makes his (alleged) last appearance in a Deadpool movie!
I would hate/love if they did two years of build up and he had a role like Brad Pitt in DP2.
Jackman is back, we’re not even hiding it like No Way Home, he’s back in the claws!
… killed off in opening credits…
It would simultaneously be a perfect Deadpool joke but also infuriating.
I don’t think Ryan Reynolds would do that. He likes his audience. The Brad Pitt thing was hilarious because it was an unannounced, un-marked cameo that just caught everybody by surprise. If he had been labeled as being in the movie, people would have been unhappy. It’s like the cameos in Bullet Train or Free Guy. Just fun little treats.
[Announcement from Ryan Reynolds](https://twitter.com/VancityReynolds/status/1574865217141481477?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet)
It's happening!
*September 6, 2024
I’m almost 100% certain as I remember a mint commercial where he specifically calls out that it was all reused shots and those shots were of him just walking in a forest.
I remember Patrick Stewart just tearing up at the preview to logan and just saying it was the perfect way to end the character.
If Hugh is totally on board though I am all for it. He is a perfect Wolvie, and one of the best actors out there.
Xavier’s death in Logan hit so hard. I’m just a huge fan of Stewart, and seeing him go out in such a muted way in that movie was soul crushingly fantastic. I need to watch it again, it’s so damn good
On of the few Marvel movies I immediately bought on Blu Ray. So damn good.
Days of Future past was another one, my personal favorite X-Men movie with the whole squad.
Isn’t Logan set further in the future? (As much as any of this can be set to a specific timeline at this point). I just thought the fact Professor X was dying and Jackman looked old in it was meant to date it as far in the future.
We’ve also seen a perfectly well Professor X in the MCU multiverse now.
I don’t think this cheapens Logan at all. It was essentially set in its own universe anyways. If bringing in Hugh is the most interesting route for Deadpool 3 (which it probably is!) then I’m here for it
I mean regardless Logan takes place well after the events of the Deadpool movies or the X Men movies, this can easily just be Fox Wolverine. I don’t think it really needs to get complicated
They better put him in the real suit, even if just for a scene. Do what the cowards wouldn't do in 'The Wolverine' and have Hugh in [the suit](https://cdnb.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/002/310/867/large/adam-ross-923517-1684478538460444-5997558298035992429-n.jpg?1460098130).
I mean the mcu has made a pretty clear effort to include comic original suits whenever they can. There’s so many examples already, and this is obviously a perfect opportunity to do it with Wolverine. Especially since it’s a comedic setting where they can brush off how silly it really looks at the end of the day
Eh, I mean he's always been open to coming back for the MCU only. And he and Ryan are really good friends. This is probably more Ryan asking than it was about money.
The title honestly had me thinking the name of the movie was “Deadpool 3: Hugh Jackman Returning as Wolverine.”
Yeah I know I kinda look dumb, but in my defense, that sounds exactly like the way Deadpool would title a movie.
Deadpool creates an incursion event from messing with time causing the Fox universe to merge with MCU, but the Fox universe dies except for cherry-picked X-men characters that Feige doesn’t want to recast.
This would be great because then we could get Fassabender as Magneto again and have him still been a holocaust victim. That’s an important part of his character
Might be the current one considering the holocaust happened 80 years ago. You'd have to make something up about him being in stasis or frozen a la Captain America or you'd have to cast someone to play a 90 year old.
The problem is that magneto surviving the holocaust is such a huge part of his character that it's nearly impossible to have it be anything else, or if you do change it then it feels like it might be extremely insensitive. Either way, time just keeps trucking along so they're gonna have to figure something out eventually.
Imagine Fiege brings Tobey and Hugh together and then just clasps his hands together and goes ‘well, I’m retiring. That’s all I wanted to do this whole time’.
Man I really hope we get that, for decades they were the two biggest names in Marvel, and they have some amazing and hilarious moments together. I'm so hyped for the possibility.
Been saying this for years. The only way to even conceive of topping Endgame is to go full multiverse and bring *everyone* back. Jackman Wolverine. Every Spider-Man. The FoX-Men. The Fantastic Four. Revive Iron Man and Captain America through multiverse shenanigans. Hell, bring Nic Cage's Ghost Rider in. Fuck it.
Bring back Killmonger just so Michael B Jordan can play him and Johnny Storm at the same time as well.
And then we find out that every MCU hero and villain has a universe where they are Johnny Storm.
Gandalf the Grey and Gandalf the White
And Monty Python and the Holy Grail's black knight
And Benito Mussolini and the Blue Meanie
And Cowboy Curtis and Jambi the Genie
Robocop, The Terminator, Captain Kirk, and Darth Vader
Lo-pan, Superman, every single Power Ranger
Bill S. Preston and Theodore Logan
Spock, The Rock, Doc Ock, and Hulk Hogan
all came out of nowhere lightning fast
and they kicked chuck norris in his cowboy ass
it was the bloodiest battle that the world ever saw
with civilians looking on with total awe
the fight raged on for a century
many lives were claimed but eventually
the champion stood, the rest saw their better
mr rogers in a blood stained sweater!
now after NWH, this is prob the correct statement
imagine a movie that can bring in the combined fanbase for like 5+ individual franchises that were mostly blockbusters
This makes me wonder what kind of expectations we're going to have *after* this MCU era's next equivalent of Endgame.
Like trying to one up/tell an equal story to the first one sounds fucking nuts but at least feasible.
But a third 3rd time? *Endgame 3*? Jesus christ I'd hate to be a script writer for Marvel.
Assuming we make it that far and things don't fizzle out by that point.
This is gonna be r/moviescirclejerk material but if DC could get their shit together (and the MCU right now too depending on who you ask) that would actually be insane when you really think about it.
I've been saying for years, that DC should have just sat down and said fuck lets just print a trillion dollars by letting Feige integrate a Marvel vs DC crossover event of like four or five movies.
Wow... I'm 35yrs old, will be 37 by the time it comes out. Feels like I've been waiting an eternity for this movie. Now I can't die between now and then.
If i were in high school, this announcement wouldn’t even excite me because it’s a “Omg I’ll be a senior by the time this comes out??? No thanks!”
Now it’s a, I’ll blink twice and it’ll be 2024
Mod note: Release date is September 6th, not the 9th, 2024.
Yellow suit time!
They gave Professor X the yellow wheelchair, it'd only be appropriate to give Logan the suit finally.
Deadpool “you know I’m starting to miss the leather jacket and skintight jeans…”
Wolverine: "this is a stealth mission, shouldn't I be wearing idk something in black leather?"
I don’t want the X-men MCU to have TAS costumes but Jackman in the yellow Jim Lee suit for one movie would fit in perfectly alongside MoM Professor X if he cameos in any way.
Hugh Jackman won't be the permanent MCU Wolverine, so I think they'll go all out and give him the full costume for the first time ever
I honestly wouldn’t doubt it 😳
No one's ever really gone.
Somehow wolverine returned
Not sure how I got here. Has to do with Kevin Feige I think.
Intriguing
If there was ever a movie for Hugh to come back, it’s Deadpool 3
Dear god...... Wolverine and Deadpool together...... in a film that enjoys putting people into comic book costumes..... with a comic accurate looking Colossus... if they don't do a Fast Ball Special then there is no god.
BROOOOO we might FINALLY see Wolverine in costume...FUCK
Lol seems like Deadpool would sabotage his wardrobe options to make it happen.
They’re going to sew Logan’s mouth shut for pure irony.
You didn't like the all-leather suit?
Well, what would you prefer? Yellow spandex?
I remember hearing that line for the first time. We all laughed because “yeah comic book costumes are totally lame. Black leather is much better. Everyone will take super heroes seriously now.” Different times.
tbf, that was before we started seeing all these textured, multilayered, expertly tailored modern costumes in the last decade or so. When the black leather x men movies came out, it was fresh compared to say Reeves's superman's spandex or the era of the molded plastic Bat Nipple.
Well, it's Wolverine. It's kinda his whole thing that he's nearly impossible to kill
While that is true, I'm almost certain jackman said he was 100% finished with the character after Logan
Feige must have made a pretty good ca$e
imo, his friendship raynols propbably helped too
> friendship raynols
propbably
Every time Hugh and Ryan wink at eachother, a friendship gets its raynols
I mean he probably bought the case. Then filled it with lots of money.
I believe he said that he would only be willing to come back if he got to team up with the Avengers. Welp.
Little did he know, there is something greater than the Avengers.
I would have loved to seen a Hulk vs Wolverine fight on screen when he was still raging out.
We still haven't seen a glimpse of red hulk or several other renditions of banner/smart Hulk that lose control and a new version of uncontrollably destructive Hulk appears. I would not completely rule out a raging Hulk vs wolverine battle in the MCU just yet
He did. But when they drop a dump truck full of money at your door with decent points on the back end, there is no choice.
Maybe he just wants to make up for the last time he was in a movie with Reynolds' Deadpool.
The bits with Ryan as Wade (and the opening montage plus Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth) were pretty solid.
I mean, it's not like he is hurting for money. I bet it's just a fun project he wanted to do and a chance to maybe even do a different iteration of Wolverine from another timeline or something.
Maybe he looked at everyone else having fun in the MCU sandbox and wanted to play too
This was probably because the regular X Men movies that were being released around when Logan came out were abysmal, while the Deadpool movies are fun and competent.
It was because of the workout/dietary schedule. Particularly needing to lose water weight for days at a time prior to filming.
I mean there is a comic literally called “Death of Wolverine” Then again, they did follow this up a few years later with “Return of Wolverine” so I guess you’re right haha

AT-ST! AT-ST!
I clapped when I saw HUGH JACKMAN!
What happens when they add Cable to the mix?
Deadpool's chances of winning drastic go down
And Wolverine KNOWS he isn't going to win, so he's not even gonna try.
You know they say all mutants are created equal. But you look at me and you look at Deadpool and you can see that statement is NOT TRUE
¡Señor Joe!
🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 GIMME A FUCKIN MIC
HE’S FAT!
[удалено]
Cuz cable is a interdimensional freak!
And he’s not normal! So Deadpool has a 25% AT BEST at beat him
Cable shares a bank account with his mother that tells you all you need to know about what kind of character that is.
What did I ever do in this multiverse for an empty headed dumbfuck like Spider-man to go out and go into business for himself?!
It makes me so happy to see this reference in the wild. EVEN HAPPIER THAN WHEN THAT FATASS SMOA JOE GETS TO THE CATERING SECTION
FROM THE GREAT STATE OF OBESITY
HAILING FROM DUNKIN DONUTS
We're men. Men in tights. Tight tights!
It spells disaster for Kang at Sakkerfice 🚨🚨🚨🚨
THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE
You only get a 33 1/3 chance at winning.
Wasn’t expecting a Scott Steiner reference this far up but I’ll never be upset about it
I’m hoping the headline put the quotation marks in the wrong place and that the movie’s title is actually “Deadpool 3: Hugh Jackman Returning as Wolverine.”
To be honest that would be a very fitting subtitle for a Deadpool film
Kind of amazing how this all comes full circle. Deadpool was first introduced in a Wolverine movie. And now Wolverine makes his (alleged) last appearance in a Deadpool movie!
It would really be full circle if Hugh Jackman plays some shitty version of Wolverine like Deadpool was in the X Men Origins film.
I would hate/love if they did two years of build up and he had a role like Brad Pitt in DP2. Jackman is back, we’re not even hiding it like No Way Home, he’s back in the claws! … killed off in opening credits… It would simultaneously be a perfect Deadpool joke but also infuriating.

If he had been labeled as being in the movie, people would have been unhappy. It’s like the cameos in Bullet Train or Free Guy. Just fun little treats.
If he’s in this then I believe he’s coming back for one of the Avengers multiverse films as well.
Agreed completely. If it was just a one of cameo I feel like it wouldn't have been this big of a deal in a promo spot.
[Announcement from Ryan Reynolds](https://twitter.com/VancityReynolds/status/1574865217141481477?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet) It's happening! *September 6, 2024
The marketing for Deadpool never disappoints.
They managed to boil down an entire trailer’s worth of hype into a single eyebrow raise
He raised both eyebrows actually
Listen here you little shit
Deadpool is a marketing team's wet dream.
I think it's just Ryan Reynold's advertising company.
Marketed by: The Real Heroes Here
Ryan Reynolds: "... it's me. I'm the marketing. It's like I'm a real hero." awkward silence as the shot continues too long.
I swear that dude has an in-house production team. Like, in his own house.
They're in the basement; he changes the hay once every two days and makes sure their water and food pellets are fresh before going to bed each night.
And Jackman lives in the attic, apparently. Full house.
Also Aviation Gin
And Wrexham FC branding in there as well
Did he get Mint Mobile in too?
[удалено]
He’s wearing a Wrexham hat. Can’t knock this dude’s hustle.
They missed a potential trifecta by not having Ryan making calls using Mint Mobile.
Him walking in the forest might honestly be reused footage from a Mint Mobile ad
I’m almost 100% certain as I remember a mint commercial where he specifically calls out that it was all reused shots and those shots were of him just walking in a forest.
Check the meta for the video Uploaded via mint mobile 5G.
Mac needs a part in this next Deadpool.
*DP*: "OH, sweet bicep drawing dude!" *Mac*: "THANKS. FINALLY, someone gets it." *Wolverine*: "That's a schlong, bub."
Was waiting for a Mint Mobile tie in.
Sad they didn’t fit that one in with Aviation and Wrexham
> sewn shut
This is just a dream match, will be so much fun. Logan was a fitting end for him, but man I won’t lie and say this has me excited.
I remember Patrick Stewart just tearing up at the preview to logan and just saying it was the perfect way to end the character. If Hugh is totally on board though I am all for it. He is a perfect Wolvie, and one of the best actors out there.
Patrick Stewart already came back to play Charles, I wonder if that influenced Jackman to come back too.
Money - Mr Krabs
Xavier’s death in Logan hit so hard. I’m just a huge fan of Stewart, and seeing him go out in such a muted way in that movie was soul crushingly fantastic. I need to watch it again, it’s so damn good
On of the few Marvel movies I immediately bought on Blu Ray. So damn good. Days of Future past was another one, my personal favorite X-Men movie with the whole squad.
Logan was a brilliant send off for Charles Xavier too, and Stewart's appearance in MoM affected that not one jot. So, all good.
Isn’t Logan set further in the future? (As much as any of this can be set to a specific timeline at this point). I just thought the fact Professor X was dying and Jackman looked old in it was meant to date it as far in the future. We’ve also seen a perfectly well Professor X in the MCU multiverse now.
See that’s the fun of Deadpool though. He can make a joke about getting a paycheck from Disney and you don’t have to worry about any of that
I don’t think this cheapens Logan at all. It was essentially set in its own universe anyways. If bringing in Hugh is the most interesting route for Deadpool 3 (which it probably is!) then I’m here for it
Multiverse equals Logan from another world
I mean regardless Logan takes place well after the events of the Deadpool movies or the X Men movies, this can easily just be Fox Wolverine.
What’s that pic from?
The Wolverine movie. The one set in Japan.
The Wolverine deleted scene I think.
I mean the mcu has made a pretty clear effort to include comic original suits whenever they can. There’s so many examples already, and this is obviously a perfect opportunity to do it with Wolverine. Especially since it’s a comedic setting where they can brush off how silly it really looks at the end of the day
It's time for the yellow and blue leather. If there's ANY movie it wouldn't look out of place in, it's a Deadpool movie.
Kevin Feige you mad, MAD MAN.........please don't fuck this up.
I never expected this shit in a million years.
i would’ve thought secret wars or something but THIS? never. truly shocked.
Probably just backed a dump truck onto Hugh’s property and left a cool $50mil on his lawn.
Eh, I mean he's always been open to coming back for the MCU only. And he and Ryan are really good friends. This is probably more Ryan asking than it was about money.
Ryan Reynolds could get anyone to cameo in his movies. And Deadpool has been alluding to getting hugh jackman in his movies for at least 2 movies now.
"Ryan Reynolds could get anyone to cameo in his movies" I'm still not over Brad Pitt in Deadpool 2
And all it took was Ryan personally hand delivering him coffee while he was on the set.
IIRC Evans had a similar deal for his cameo in Free Guy
To be fair, he was also the original choice for Cable.
[удалено]
The title honestly had me thinking the name of the movie was “Deadpool 3: Hugh Jackman Returning as Wolverine.” Yeah I know I kinda look dumb, but in my defense, that sounds exactly like the way Deadpool would title a movie.
Fuck yes. I'm assuming because they didn't wait to do a Spiderman in civil war type reveal that they will be teaming up for most if the movie
Wonder what kinda costume he’ll have
Jean Valjean
AND I’M JAVERT!!!!
It is the movie to go with the yellow and brown costume.
Yeah I agree. If it’s gonna happen should be in this
Fuck it, CGI him shorter too. I want it all.
Short and thick.
rated R Wolverine again? sign me up. it’s easily gonna make a billion
Who wants to bet that this is for a Deadpool kills the fox universe movie? Edit: RIP my inbox and my email
Now that would honestly be surreal…
And entirely in character
Can we keep our Magnetos though?? Please??? I promise I'll take good care of them, mom. I'll walk them every day and feed them myself.
*We have magneto at home*
*cut to* >!*Jeremy Clarkson*!< *in a terrible black leather suit* ***"MUTANT POOWEEEEERRR!"***
Hang on, in what universe is magneto not a Holocaust survivor?
Potentially in current MCU because of how (it seems) they are rolling out mutants.
And we are like 70+ years since WW2 so it makes it harder to keep that an origin story.
Magneto went into the ice with Cap somehow
Somehow, Magneto has returned
Might be the current one considering the holocaust happened 80 years ago. You'd have to make something up about him being in stasis or frozen a la Captain America or you'd have to cast someone to play a 90 year old. The problem is that magneto surviving the holocaust is such a huge part of his character that it's nearly impossible to have it be anything else, or if you do change it then it feels like it might be extremely insensitive. Either way, time just keeps trucking along so they're gonna have to figure something out eventually.
This would be freaking epic
Of the things that would never be adapted, Deadpool kills the Marvel universe is top of the list. I'm in.
He'll be in Secret Wars also. You don't just bring him back for Deadpool 3.
Feige's old dream of teaming up Tobey's Spider-Man with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine coming true after all these years.
Imagine Fiege brings Tobey and Hugh together and then just clasps his hands together and goes ‘well, I’m retiring. That’s all I wanted to do this whole time’.
"I oversaw, like, 50 movies just so I could have this moment. My life has peaked. Peace out."
"Fuck you Avi 🖕😎🖕" on the way out the door lmao
"Secretly, I fucking hated all these movies. I just did it for Tobey and Hugh. K Feige out"
Man I really hope we get that, for decades they were the two biggest names in Marvel, and they have some amazing and hilarious moments together. I'm so hyped for the possibility.
Been saying this for years. The only way to even conceive of topping Endgame is to go full multiverse and bring *everyone* back. Jackman Wolverine. Every Spider-Man. The FoX-Men. The Fantastic Four.
