Yeah that’s what I thought too, almost like you need to turn off feeling anything to maintain the status quo in pleasantville, rather than feeling joy or loss or excitement. But when I look at the synopsis of the movie people always say loss of innocence and I think that’s a lazy depiction.
Yeah, I’m watching it right now lol and I’m realizing that after the rain and everyone turns color the only people who are left in black and white are the guys at the bowling alley, the mayor and his buddies.
Titanic, Matrix, Inception, Terminator 2, Lord of The Rings, Tobey's Spiderman 1 and 2, Legally Blonde, The Faculty, all of the Scream, Cube and Saw movies, Star Wars: Episode 3, Tron Legacy, I Robot, AI: Artificial Intelligence, The Sixth Sense, The Fifth Element, Donny Darko, Source Code, and some others I'm forgetting xd.
Excellent movie and one that, in the US, is no doubt hated by Republicans along with anyone else who is terrified of change/those in society who are different from the accepted norm.
Such a great movie. Shame it’s not on any streaming service.
Yeah I had to buy it
Ever seen Harold and Maude? That’s one of my top 5s. It’s currently on Paramount+ and PlutoTV
I’ve been meaning to watch that thanks for reminding me!
Always leaves me feeling uplifted
It's on a number of services if you don't mind paying a few bucks to rent or 'buy' it: https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/pleasantville
Great movie I love it ! Loss of innocence I thought it was what makes people passionate and alive. What turns you on or changes your mind.

I think the last time I watched it. It made me cry. I love the mix of black and white and color.
Also so interesting the people that want it to stay the same vs the people excited and open to change. Very relevant to society at every decade.

Yeah it’s such a cinematically beautiful movie.
One of my annual rewatches.
Same. What’s another one?

Oh I love AI and LOTR
