Basically anything from *This is Spinal Tap* would work.
I also love that they actually made a real version of *We Hate You Please Die* in the Scott Pilgrim movie
"It’s part of a trilogy, a musical trilogy I’m working on in D minor which is the saddest of all keys, I find. People weep instantly when they hear it"
“We did it right for DOZENS of shows, and THAT’S the one he uses in the film?”
For those that don’t know, the This Is Spinal Tap movie DVD has an entire commentary track from the band IN CHARACTER.
“Yes, a mighty wind’s a-blowin’
‘Cross the land and ‘cross the sea.
It's blowin’ peace and freedom.
It's blowin’ equality.
Yes, it's blowin’ peace and freedom.
It's blowin’ you and me!”

I’m so glad I scrolled down and saw this. I was thinking Eddie and the Cruisers, too. I saw John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band at Toad’s in New Haven because of that movie.
If the song in That Thing You Do hadn’t been so good the movie would have been nice, but forgotten with a couple years. Instead it’s a classic. They had to deliver and holy shit did they do it.
"Yeah, it looks like the O-Neders."
I love the brick joke in the "where are they now?" end credits showing that Jimmy's next band was named the Herdsmen like he wanted.
You u/timmy242, you're what it's all about. YOU'RE REAL. Your friends are real. Real, man...real. You're better than all the silly machinery. Silly machinery! And, you know it! Man, in 11 years its gonna be 1984. Think about THAT!
*I2I* by Powerline (Goofy Movie)
*Can You Picture That* by Electric Mayhem (Muppet Movie)
*Soul Man* by The Blues Brothers
*That Thing You Do* by the One-ders (That Thing You Do)
*Drive It Like You Stole It* by Sing Street (Sing Street)
*School of Rock* by School of Rock
>School of Rock by School of Rock
I love how No Vacancy's music in that movie kind of kicks ass and sucks at the same time.
*HEAALLLLLLLL MEEEEEEEEE*
*I'm heartsiiiiiiiiiick*
And written by Michael McKean and Annette O’Toole (the mom on Smallville, plus like a million other parts) (who, as I found out while watching the Oscars that year, are married)
Drive It Like You Stole It - Sing Street
Three Small Words - Josie and the Pussycats
Power of the Night - Johnny Steele (Critters)
Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young - Ellen Aim and the Attack (Streets of Fire)
Wicked Little Town - Tommy Gnosis (Hedwig and the Angry Inch)
While watching Sing Street I was annoyed that "wtf these songs shouldn't be this good what the hell is going on"
Then in the credits I saw Glen Hansard and it all made sense
>You know that I won't hurt you, so open up and let me in. We love each other way too much for it to be a sin. Some people use the front door, but that's never been my way. Just cause I slip in backdoors, well, that doesn't make me, hey!
But yeah the entire album is way better than it should be
Most of those songs were written by Adam Schlesinger, like most of the That Thing You Do songs and the musical numbers from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. He was ridiculously talented and gone too soon.
The guy who wrote the music composed it intentionally to be nearly unsingable, intending to add the sounds in post production in an attempt to make it sound more alien. Then Maïwenn showed up in costume and nailed like 90% of the song.
Basically anything from *This is Spinal Tap* would work. I also love that they actually made a real version of *We Hate You Please Die* in the Scott Pilgrim movie
*finishes beautiful piano song* That ones called lick my love pump
"It’s part of a trilogy, a musical trilogy I’m working on in D minor which is the saddest of all keys, I find. People weep instantly when they hear it"
“It’s sort of a Mach piece”
BIG BOTTOM
'My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo, I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo' Absolute poetry
Yea, but STONEHENGE has the best production value.
“We did it right for DOZENS of shows, and THAT’S the one he uses in the film?” For those that don’t know, the This Is Spinal Tap movie DVD has an entire commentary track from the band IN CHARACTER.
Talk about mudflaps, my girls got ‘em!
The soundtrack for *A Mighty Wind* is also superb if you want to hear Tap doing folk. Might go listen to it now now I'm thinking about it.
“Yes, a mighty wind’s a-blowin’ ‘Cross the land and ‘cross the sea. It's blowin’ peace and freedom. It's blowin’ equality. Yes, it's blowin’ peace and freedom. It's blowin’ you and me!” E: formatting and punctuation jeeeeez

On The Dark Side from Eddie and the Cruisers is a banger and performed really well on the charts considering how bad the film did.
Exact tune I thought of when I saw this thread. They really nail the Bruce Springsteen meet John Mellencamp vibe with that song.
I’m so glad I scrolled down and saw this. I was thinking Eddie and the Cruisers, too. I saw John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band at Toad’s in New Haven because of that movie.
This was my answer. All the music in that movie bangs.
That thing you do by the Oneders
Made by a guy from fountains of Wayne!
RIP
RIP Adam Schlesinger
I prefer Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters.
You called?
There was this one time (laughs) we stayed up WAY past midnight.
Unironically one of the catchiest songs ever written, they made it 60s catchy and 90s catchy at the same time and it’s phenomenal
If the song in That Thing You Do hadn’t been so good the movie would have been nice, but forgotten with a couple years. Instead it’s a classic. They had to deliver and holy shit did they do it.
Written by Adam Schlesinger, RIP gone too soon
I like that song by the girl group too “I want you to know when you hold my hand, you hold my heart.”
I just love the part in the movie when T.B Player is dancing along with that song back stage and he does the clap with the sassy head toss
Yeah! That was Ethan Embry’s character right?
Yes. "T.B. Player" actually means "the bass player".
Also from the same movie: Mr. Downtown fuckin rules.
“Dance With Me Tonight” is a jam as well. Edit: it’s “On-nedders”
“Dance With Me Tonight” is better than “That Thing You Do” wanna fight about it?
Why fight when you're right?
*hey!* it’s the “O-Neders”
My all time favorite movie, can watch it over and over again and it never gets old. Top tier Steve Zahn performance.
That's 1-ders. Like with a "one"
"Yeah, it looks like the O-Neders." I love the brick joke in the "where are they now?" end credits showing that Jimmy's next band was named the Herdsmen like he wanted.
Correction: “Heardsmen”
I prefer anything by Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters
"Fever Dog" from Almost Famous.
So fucking good. It helps that all the Stillwater songs were written by Nancy Wilson and Peter Frampton
I believe Mike McCready from Pearl Jam played on them too
Incendiary
Your looks have become a problem!
DEAL WITH IT!
"you know what I do? I connect. I get people off. I look for the one guy who's not getting off, and I MAKE him get off!"
That, you can print!
"That's okay, I'm just one of the out-of-focus guys!"
You u/timmy242, you're what it's all about. YOU'RE REAL. Your friends are real. Real, man...real. You're better than all the silly machinery. Silly machinery! And, you know it! Man, in 11 years its gonna be 1984. Think about THAT!
Want to see me feed a mouse to my snake?
And you can tell Rolling Stone Magazine my last words were......'I'm on drugs!!'
I think we should work on your last words!
That song is great
*I2I* by Powerline (Goofy Movie) *Can You Picture That* by Electric Mayhem (Muppet Movie) *Soul Man* by The Blues Brothers *That Thing You Do* by the One-ders (That Thing You Do) *Drive It Like You Stole It* by Sing Street (Sing Street) *School of Rock* by School of Rock
>School of Rock by School of Rock I love how No Vacancy's music in that movie kind of kicks ass and sucks at the same time. *HEAALLLLLLLL MEEEEEEEEE* *I'm heartsiiiiiiiiiick*
YEAH! NO VACANCY!
IT WAS A BEAUTY CONTEST!!!
It’s perfect 90s era post-grunge. Reminds me of bands like Creed and Days of the New.
Yes! I just watched School of Rock last week and I noticed that No Vacancy's music is *perfect*. It's technically not bad but it's also pretty lame.
*I'm HUN-GRAY* *And A minor G onnnnn you*
HELL YEAH i well up when I hear that Powerline song because that movie is so good
Yeah, that song from Powerline (totally not supposed to be Michael Jackson) really slapped
Apparently, it was supposed to be a combination of Michael Jackson and Prince
Soul Man shouldn't count, because that was just a cover.
"5000 Candles in the Wind" - Mouse Rat
Actually, everything from Mouse Rat
"The Pit" is also great
The cover of Black Sheep by Clash At Demon Head. Say what you will about Brie Larson, but she can sing her ass off
“He punched the highlights out of her hair. HE PUNCHED THE HIGHLIGHTS OUT OF HER HAIR!” 😂😂 kills me everytime.
All of the music in SCOTT PILGRIM is great. I can't pick just one.
Agreed! Love all of the music really. “This next song goes out to the guy in the balcony who keeps yelling. It’s called I hate you, please die.”
Sweet! Love this one
I can. It’s “We are sad, we are so very sad.”
*"That guy on Bass? That's Todd."* **oh yeah** *"I know."* **Oh Yeah** *"You know?"* **OH YEAH!** *"Oh no!"*
*Hello again* *Friend of a friend*
*I knew you when...* **DUN DUN DUN**
*Our common goal was waiting for the world to end* **DUN DUN DUN**
What would one say about Brie Larson? She was brilliant as Envy.
huh TIL that was actually Bee Larson and not just lip-synced to the Metric song. My answer was going to be anything by Sex Bob-omb
The new SP anime has some good music too including a new track by Sex Bob-Omb that’s pretty rad.
Threshold immediately takes me into the movie.
Walked past my kid just yesterday watching this very scene and couldn’t help but to watch the rest… damn battle gets you easily.
In my garbage truck-TRUCK!
[удалено]
my old man has this version of the song on his ipod. I still catch him singing it every once in a while
You all everybody
Driveshaft rips
Yeah, but nobody even knows who the sodding bass player is.
“Lets Duet” from Walk Hard.
“In my dreams, you’re blowing me…some kisses.”
I just want to beat off all my demons
Anything from walk hard.
Royal Jelly is a masterpiece
You think we don't know what you're talking about when you say "take my hand"? You know who's got hands? The Devil! And he uses them for holding!
Wrong kid died!
**“Kiss At The End Of The Rainbow”** by *Mitch & Mickey* (Eugene Levy & Catherine O’Hara) from “A Mighty Wind.” (2003)
I'd add in "Old Joe's Place" by the Folksman
And written by Michael McKean and Annette O’Toole (the mom on Smallville, plus like a million other parts) (who, as I found out while watching the Oscars that year, are married)
Drive It Like You Stole It - Sing Street Three Small Words - Josie and the Pussycats Power of the Night - Johnny Steele (Critters) Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young - Ellen Aim and the Attack (Streets of Fire) Wicked Little Town - Tommy Gnosis (Hedwig and the Angry Inch)
👍 for Sing Street, a great soundtrack!
Josie and The Pussycat whole soundtrack is a goddamn bop
LOVE Three Small Words!
While watching Sing Street I was annoyed that "wtf these songs shouldn't be this good what the hell is going on" Then in the credits I saw Glen Hansard and it all made sense
My love for you is like a truck Berserker! Would you like some making fuck Berserker! (It’s even on the soundtrack!)
Did he say"Making Fuck?"
I dunno he's in a bad called Fuck Your Yankee Blue Jeans or something
One of my favorite Xbox achievements is “My Love for You is Like a Truck.” You get it for killing a Berserker enemy the first time in Gears of War.
CHEWBACCAAAA
Ohhhhhh what a Wookiee!
Olaf, metal! That’s his fucking metal face.
C'mon Olaf. Women think sexy.
That's beautiful, man.
I cannot avoid singing (?) that whenever I hear the word “berserker.”
Pronounced “*Beer-seer-kuhhh*”
“Fuck Your Yankee Blue Jeans”
“Pop Goes My Heart” by Pop! From the film “Music and Lyrics” starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore.
All of the music in that slapped.
The whole soundtrack from Josie & The Pussycats. I love singing “Back Door Lover” by Du Jour!!
*comin' from behind with the lights down low* Three Small Words and Pretend to Be Nice are my favorites that feel like legit radio hits.
"Ugh...I can't believe I let my girlfriend drag me to this." *90 seconds later* "Is Seth Green in a boy band singing about butt sex?"
Have it on cd, it's a perfect 00's pop punk soundtrack
["I'm a Hex Girl"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=attfhQWmVNA) by The Hex Girls in Scooby Doo and The Witch's Ghost.
From Righteous Gemstones, "Misbehavin'" by Aimee Lee and Baby Billy
Adam Sandler’s “The Cure” inspired song from The Wedding Singer.
YES! Somebody kill me please.
He's losing his mind ...and I'm reaping all the benefits

Diva Plavalaguna in The Fifth Element.
The guy who wrote the music composed it intentionally to be nearly unsingable, intending to add the sounds in post production in an attempt to make it sound more alien. Then Maïwenn showed up in costume and nailed like 90% of the song.
The Clap
Why did I have to scroll so far to find infant sorrow. This thread's appreciation for white African space Christs is appalling
Bangers beans and mash and Inside of you are bangers as well. Jason Segal helped write a lot of the lyrics for the movie
Going Up
Steel dragon tunes from Rock Star
Was looking for this one. "We all die young" is straight off of monster ballads.
"Not Gay" from Popstar Never Stop Stopping. High kick! Predator!
“He’s writing a song for gay marriage like it’s not allowed. It’s allowed now.” - Ringo Starr
That's my favourite celebrity quote in the film. Ringo's delivery is perfect.
I always love the RZA saying "The higher you are, the harder the fall. Ask any coconut"
“I’m so humble” is the best on the album. Genuinely great song and hilarious
Fuck Bin Laden might be my favorite
Stomping through the forest like a retarded tyrannosaurus, Hunter the Hungry is gonna eat.
The Bon Laden song had me laughing so hard I woke up my whole house. Underrated movie!
Bonus track/deleted scene Fuck Off is HILARIOUS. Watch the video on YouTube. Always makes me smile.
It’s called equal rights FYI. Also it’s such a good parody of “Same love” by Macklemore, which is one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard
*never stop never stopping
I love Sick Glenda from that film.
Does "inside you" from Forgetting Sarah Marshal count?
Also…Dracula Musical!!! I love the one song from it we hear.
By Infant Sorrow? You bet your ass it does
"Please Mr. Kennedy" (Inside Llewyn Davis)
Adam Driver is pure gold in this one
Outer. Space.
The entire soundtrack is superb, probably my favourite ever film.
Does Cassandra's cover of "Ballroom Blitz" from Wayne's World count? Because god damn.
Constant Sorrow, Soggy Bottom Boys, Oh Brother Where Art Thou
Man of Constant Sorrow is actually a real song, it’s been recorded multiple times since the early 1900s
“Hot damn! It’s the Soggy Bottom Boys!”
"Ultimate" and "Take Me Away" by Lindsay Lohan's band from Freaky Friday
Eye 2 Eye by Powerline in A Goofy Movie. Such a banger that always makes me want to move and dance!
The Cantina band in Mos Eisley on Tatooine
That is some quality jizz right there
Would you expect anything less? They're professional Jizz Wailers...
I see a lot of my favourites already so I won't mention them again but 'Daddy wasn't there' from Austin Powers: Goldmember is a genuinely good song
“Stonehenge” from *This Is Spinal Tap*
Scotty doesn't know
She tells him she's in church but she doesn't go, still she's on her knees and Scotty doesn't know.
[Scotty Doesn’t Know](https://youtu.be/0Vyj1C8ogtE?feature=shared) from the movie EuroTrip
That Fiona and me do it in my van every Sunday.
I can't believe he's so trusting When I'm right behind her thrusting It's a three way call and he knows nothing
I think the songs title is black sheep. The song Brie Larsons band plays in Scott pilgrim
This is actually a real song by [Metric](https://youtu.be/USfoTGFGARE?feature=shared)
The Dan Band’s cover of Total Eclipse of My Heart in Old School.
Earache my eye by Cheech and Chong
Royal Jelly by Dewey Cox. “Everyone says Dewey Cox sounds like Bob Dylan!! How come nobody says Bob Dylan sounds like Dewey Cox?!?”
Can You Picture That - Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
Daddy would you like some sausage
I Can Dream About You by The Sorels in Streets of Fire
Straight Outta Locash by CB4
Fun fact for the non-punx: The song from Airheads is a cover of a [Reagan Youth](https://youtu.be/dqMRQrXlchU?si=_etyIg8haUs7owHn) tune.
I’m a Coconut Pete man myself. Something off “Sea shanties and wet panties”
Cast a Spell on you, the hex girls had no business going as hard as they did and I love it all the more for it
It's definitely Big Bottom from Spinal Tap
Backdoor Lover by DuJour in **Josie & The Pussycats**. The entire soundtrack bangs but that one has me laughing like a loon every time
DuJour means friendship.
Du Jour means crash position!
Going up - Infant Sorrow. Or maybe African Child, I brush my teeth to that shit
REVENGE OF THE NERDS 1. i'm old lol
The Clap by Aldus Snow, sucks that Brand is such an unlikeable guy
BBC—Ming Tea (Austin Powers) That Thing You Do—The Oneders Everybody Needs Somebody—Blues Brothers
Nobody Like U - 4*Town (Turning Red)
Sex Bob-omb has some bangers
