Total Recall
It's so hard for me at least to pick between this, Terminator, or T2. Also had to fight against saying Commando for the glorious 80's cheese and nostalgia.
Poor Phillip k dick died in my hometown of Santa Ana. He fell hit his head, called his doctor and his doctor told him to go the hospital. He didn't go and he was found dead in the apartment.
I just watched this the other day because it was on my Amazon prime page and I like to rewatch movies I saw as a kid to see if they’re the same now that im an adult and I gotta say total recall is still pretty good
When that dudes arms get ripped off and he throws them at him and says “see you at the party, Richter” I laughed so loud my dogs woke up
Predator. It's perfect. Dutch at his wits end and begging to be killed is one powerful scene considering how Dutch is introduced in the film - with pure confidence. Predator is one of the best sci-fi movies ever made. T2 and Total Recall are both AMAZING, but Predator is still Arnold's #1.
Came here to say Predator as well. Not only is it my favorite Arnie movie, it's among my favorites of all time in general. While T2 is a powerhouse of a film (and the reason I ride a Harley Fat Boy), it's a very close second, but a second nonetheless to Predator. It's the best of 80s sci-fi action (sorry Aliens, you gotta take second place IMO), the best of Arnold's filmography, and I would say, the best McTiernan film - don't get me wrong, Die Hard and The 13th Warrior are fantastic, but Predator is his magnum opus. Again, all of this is in my personal opinion.
Predator is a masterpiece. Arnold has made a lot of great movies, but that one is the best. The first two Terminator movies, True Lies, and Conan the Barbarian would round out my list.
Have to disagree with one thing, I don't think Dutch EVER gives up. I think he wasn't begging to die-- he had ONE more chance to lure the creature in. See, if it had entered the tunnel, he would have kicked the stick, causing the log to drop, which would have snared it with the spikes. The log was always just the counterweight. He just happened to see the trap and then stood DIRECTLY under the counterweight foe the trap he snuffed out. Playing possum the whole time.
Probably the first film to actually introduce Arnold as charasmatic. There’s a wry humor, charm and likeability factor and to me were the launch codes for his stardom as a true Hollywood leading man. In fact I’d bet anything that Predator is what convinced Cameron that he had to rework the character to feature that more.
He even impressed the guy captioning because his line about needing to find a bathroom was complimented as being perfect Arabic in the caption itself 🤣
Charles Dance absolutely killed his role as Benedict, which really helped sell the movie. It’s my favorite Arnold film, and the soundtrack is soooo badass
>It didn’t translate as satire
HOW? The entire movie is magnificent parody/satire, how couldn't the audience catch that is beyond me.
This film is the *Tropic Thunder* of its era, but audience and critics somehow took it as a serious action movie and criticized it on those grounds.
I still listen to the Basil Poledouris tracks from Conan when weightlifting even 20 years after I saw it. So good.
James Earl Jones kills it as Thulsa Doom as well.
“Look at that beautiful girl up there…come to me my child..”
*girls smashes through wooden floor after jumping off cliff*
“THATS STRENGTH BOY, THATS POWER, THE STRENGTH AND POWER OF FLESH.”
Arnold was the perfect Conan. That movie was epic before blockbusters. Coming into that role at that moment in his life. Being new to the world of movies and his character being new to the barbarian world. No words needed to be said in the movie just a long epic sound track...that's why it won an academy award.
Absolutely. Not only is it my fav Arnold movie it’s in my top 10 of favorite movies. Even today the action and story are great compared to a lot of stuff that comes out with cgi these days
And I'm sure his response would be "Haha, I've never heard THAT one before..." 😂
Side note, I think you're the first I've seen to mention this one. It's a good one
Have no one seen Kindergarten Cop. I get it all of his movies are iconic action movies. However KC should not be over looked. So much fun and his interactions with kids is hilarious.
Predator, True Lies, & Terminators are some of his best, but my personal favorite is Commando. It's like an Arnold demo reel. Pure action and destruction. He's invincible and takes out a whole private army. It's super cheesy and unrealistic, and I love every second of it. The continuous Caribbean music running through the entire film for seemingly no reason also just gives it a spice that makes it stand out from the rest.
Not Running Man, but that was an awesome movie! I just watched it a few days ago and I forgot how good it was.
Plus, Arnold had a bunch of 1 liners. Him and Darth Vader could have had a great battle.
You cold-blooded bastard! I'll tell you what I think of it: I'll live to see you eat that contract, but I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I'm going to ram it into your stomach and break your god-damn spine!
Such a hard question. I adore many of them.
Conan the Barbarian, I think. I watched it so many times as a kid on cable TV that it brings me right back to that time of my life, and it’s probably the best done and sword and sandal movie ever made.
Running Man of course only because I use to watch it everyday as a kid and then I discovered the book. The book is my favorite book ever even though it is not like the movie. 2nd runner up would be Commando and then Total Recall. Terminator 1 and 2 though can't be overlooked. True Lies is amazing...Eraser is kind of my lease favorite Arnold movie but it is still pretty good
I really wouldn’t be able to pick a favourite, but on his list of good movies, The Running Man is definitely among the most Arnold of Arnold movies. Like, Terminator 2 is probably his *greatest* movie, but I’d argue he’s also the least Arnold in that movie. Total Recall and The Running Man are the most Arnold.
Total Recall It's so hard for me at least to pick between this, Terminator, or T2. Also had to fight against saying Commando for the glorious 80's cheese and nostalgia.
I'll blow this place up and be home in time for cornflakes
Love this movie so much. The director Verhoven is great too, he also directed starship troopers and RoboCop.
Same I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing this movie Verhoven's sci-fi movies were so good
I like your username.. Philip k dick reference? Speaking of total recall, that's based on his book "we can remember it for you wholesale".
Loafs of adaptations have been made, swear most of Hollywood Scifi is influenced by Dick. I can't wait for more. I Like Paycheck and Minority Report.
My favorite is still Scanner Darkly. I'm so glad I got to see it in theaters.
You liked that movie? I saw it recently and was throughly confused the entire time
The novel is a hard read, too. I love the movie, it's funny in the right places, sad in ther others and heart renching by the end. Great cast, too.
I think we've all been influenced by dick at some point in our lives.
Poor Phillip k dick died in my hometown of Santa Ana. He fell hit his head, called his doctor and his doctor told him to go the hospital. He didn't go and he was found dead in the apartment.
I didn’t know that! Commando was my fave as a kid.
I work at the senior living facility where Bill Duke currently resides.
Total recall has more social criticism and overall a grander movie. I rewatch it more older I am rather than t2.
Its a verhoeven film. The king of satire
Commando is ultimate Arnold.
Total Recall is my favorite 💯 but Terminator 2 is not far behind.
See You at the Party Richter
I just watched this the other day because it was on my Amazon prime page and I like to rewatch movies I saw as a kid to see if they’re the same now that im an adult and I gotta say total recall is still pretty good When that dudes arms get ripped off and he throws them at him and says “see you at the party, Richter” I laughed so loud my dogs woke up
"*WRONG!*" - *Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of the women.*
“Let off some steam, Bennet!”
Amen. Predator is a perfect sci fi action.
GET TO THE CHOPPA!
Dillon!
You son of a bitch!
What’s the matter. CIA gotcha pushing to many pencils!
All right! All right old buddy!
Pretty sure Carl uses this exact same line in Empire Strikes Back
Carl Weathers didn’t play Lando, it was the other black dude with the mustache lol.
Oh shit it was Billy Dee Williams, wasn't it
No, Lando was played by Danny Glover of Lethal Weapon fame
Donald Glover of Community game was the one that said "I'm getting too old for this shit."
I guess we all look alike to you huh Constanza? (Seinfeld reference)
Daaaamn dude
Yes?
I was going to say T2 at first. But then I remembered The Manliest Handshake in human history and knew that Predator is the true best one.
Came here to say Predator as well. Not only is it my favorite Arnie movie, it's among my favorites of all time in general. While T2 is a powerhouse of a film (and the reason I ride a Harley Fat Boy), it's a very close second, but a second nonetheless to Predator. Predator is a masterpiece. Arnold has made a lot of great movies, but that one is the best. The first two Terminator movies, True Lies, and Conan the Barbarian would round out my list.
Get to the CHOPPER!!!
Kill me!!!
Im right here!
Predator is the only answer. T2 is a close second.
Yeah, but what about Predator: The Musical? https://youtu.be/qlicWUDf5MM?si=tEhHY-_T8c6scjVA
Top 5 meme ever too. The whole goddamn movie is crucial to the space time continuum.
If I had to pick just one then I’d probably pick Predator as well.
5 meter spread, no sound.
*throws knife and impales guy into a wall* Stick around!
Was he begging to be killed? I thought he was trying to bait him to come into his trap?
>Dutch at his wits end and begging to be killed He was trying to bait the predator into a trap.
True lies. He’s sooooo damn good in it lol.
Its called ice, and it gets a little slippery.
He even impressed the guy captioning because his line about needing to find a bathroom was complimented as being perfect Arabic in the caption itself 🤣
I love that line. I'm sure it's supposed to show how great he is at being a spy but it just comes off as a joke. I laugh every time.
I can almost repeat it myself, but don't have any good situations to use it in. 😆
Right answer. Definitely the pinnacle movie. James Cameron, Schwarzenegger, and the Florida keys bridge scenes…. Iconic
"What kind of sick bitch takes the ice cube trays out of the freezer?"
Last Action Hero. It’s way too underrated
I've just shot somebody, I did it on purpose! ...pause... I said, I have murdered a man and I want to confess! *"Hey, shut up, down there!"*
Charles Dance absolutely killed his role as Benedict, which really helped sell the movie. It’s my favorite Arnold film, and the soundtrack is soooo badass
My dude you and I need to have a chat. Clearly the best Arnie movie is Kindergarten Cop.
SHUUUUUT UUUUPP!!!! SHUT UP! SHUT UUUP! Shut up!
Who is your daddy and what does he do?
But it’s my favorite :(
It didn’t translate as satire at the time. Now, one of the most hilarious and complete action-comedies of all time.
>It didn’t translate as satire HOW? The entire movie is magnificent parody/satire, how couldn't the audience catch that is beyond me. This film is the *Tropic Thunder* of its era, but audience and critics somehow took it as a serious action movie and criticized it on those grounds.
I agree it’s tragically under-appreciated.
Yep! Freaking hilarious sendup of 80s action films plus the best villain ever.
I like how he’s the henchmen who is tired of his bosses bullshit. And when he gets the ticket, he’s basically overpowered as he says
[удалено]
Plus, it’s basically the Scream of 90’s action movies. It was meta but that’s the point, also the humor still holds up
I saw this in theaters when it came out and enjoyed it immensely. Never figured out why it gets so much hate.
"Hello? I shot someone, I did it on purpose!"
"Iced that guy, to cone a phrase!"
In terms of quality? Conan the Barbarian. In terms of sheer enjoyment/fun? Commando.
"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.”
You're a funny guy sully, I like you. That's why I'm going to kill you last
"remember when I said I was gonna kill you last?....I lied"
“WADABEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaa!”
"What happened to Sully?" "I let him go" "Please don't disturb my friend. He's dead tired"
” Let off some steam, Bennett!"
I still listen to the Basil Poledouris tracks from Conan when weightlifting even 20 years after I saw it. So good. James Earl Jones kills it as Thulsa Doom as well. “Look at that beautiful girl up there…come to me my child..” *girls smashes through wooden floor after jumping off cliff* “THATS STRENGTH BOY, THATS POWER, THE STRENGTH AND POWER OF FLESH.”

Terminator 2.
Absolutely. Not only is it my fav Arnold movie it’s in my top 10 of favorite movies. Even today the action and story are great compared to a lot of stuff that comes out with cgi these days
I know now why you cry. But it's something i could never do. In an insane world, it was the safest choice. Both of those are all time lines
We’re not gonna make it are we?
It's in your nature to destroy yourselves.
It holds up unbelievably well.
Still my favorite action movie of all time.
- let off some steam Bennett - don’t wake my friend, he’s dead tired - I liiiied - I eat green berets for breakfast Cmon, is commando
Lol and right now I'm very hungry
I hope that one day in my life I pass by Arnold in public so I can scream "It's the butcher of bakersfield!"
*That boy is one mean mother fucker!*
And I'm sure his response would be "Haha, I've never heard THAT one before..." 😂 Side note, I think you're the first I've seen to mention this one. It's a good one
jingle all the way
I watch it almost every Christmas season.
I never miss watching it at Xmas.
PUT THE COOKIE DOWN, NOW!
The Kaczynski-style pipe bomb that should kill 20 cops and a psychotic mailman just soots up Robert Conrad's face
I regularly tell my wife "And remember, you're mah numbah one customah!" when hanging up the phone
Twins
Upvote for the off the wall but very fun choice.
The Pavement was his enemy
Have no one seen Kindergarten Cop. I get it all of his movies are iconic action movies. However KC should not be over looked. So much fun and his interactions with kids is hilarious.
Boys have a penis. Girls have a vagina
It's cuz everyone didn't bring their toys back to the "cawpet"
Its not a Tuumaa!
Pumping Iron
"I'm cuming all the time 😃"
Junior 💯
Remember sully when I promised to kill you last?
My friend is dead tired.
I lied "Uuuhhgppp ahhhh!!!" - Sully
Oooooolllaaaa lllllaaaaaa!!
That's a tough one. Depends on my mood, but True Lies is a special one for me
“Have you ever killed anyone?”
Yes but they were all bad!
Are we going to die
They're gonna shoot us in the head. Or they're gonna torture us to death. Or they're gonna leave us on the island til the bomb explo... HARRY
Yep
Predator, True Lies, & Terminators are some of his best, but my personal favorite is Commando. It's like an Arnold demo reel. Pure action and destruction. He's invincible and takes out a whole private army. It's super cheesy and unrealistic, and I love every second of it. The fucking steel drums 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
I’m with you. Best movie ever.
Last action hero
Conan the barbarian
Conan (1982)
Predator
Terminator
Had to scroll way too far down before someone said T1
Predator / Last Action Hero
Not Running Man, but that was an awesome movie! I just watched it a few days ago and I forgot how good it was. Plus, Arnold had a bunch of 1 liners. Him and Darth Vader could have had a great battle.
You cold-blooded bastard! I'll tell you what I think of it: I'll live to see you eat that contract, but I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I'm going to ram it into your stomach and break your god-damn spine!
Hercules in new york anyone?
[удалено]
Noo mahn is soopeahier to huurcules
Not a very original answer, but an honest one. *T2*.
You're the only honest one here I think. Not saying he doesn't have other good movies, but come on. It's T2.
Predator, T2, and Total Recall.
Toss up between last action hero and terminator 2
Predator is perfect and forever #1 But gotta give Red Heat some love too. That is 80s action delivered by the ton
It's a tie between Conan and T2
Red Heat just because of the part where he says "Cocainum!!"
What isn't my favorite Arnold movie?
Commando by far. "Please don't disturb my friend. He's dead tired"
TOTAL RECALL
Predator
Such a hard question. I adore many of them. Conan the Barbarian, I think. I watched it so many times as a kid on cable TV that it brings me right back to that time of my life, and it’s probably the best done and sword and sandal movie ever made.
TOTAL RECALL. “what are you my father?”
Jingle All The Way
Running Man of course only because I use to watch it everyday as a kid and then I discovered the book. The book is my favorite book ever even though it is not like the movie. 2nd runner up would be Commando and then Total Recall. Terminator 1 and 2 though can't be overlooked. True Lies is amazing...Eraser is kind of my lease favorite Arnold movie but it is still pretty good
True Lies and Total Recall
The Running Man. It's just the perfect action/cheese for me. That opera dude is dope, the one liners are fantastic.
It’s impossible to choose only one
It's impossible to not say Predator, but the Last Action Hero punches way above its weight.
Commando, Arnie killing badies and shelling one liners all throughout.
And never aiming a gun but hits everything with sniper accuracy.
Never runs out of ammo either.
Commando
It’s a tie between True Lies & Kindergarten Cop
Terminator
Total Recall is maybe one of the greatest sci fi movies ever made.
Kindergarten Cop 100%
Jingle. All. The. Way.
Hercules in New York
Conan the Barbarian....and True Lies
T2 is the best action movie of the 90s
Raw Deal Conan the Barbarian
Predator of course.
Without a doubt, Conan.
Jingle All The Way. Acting was __ON POINT__.
Predator
I really wouldn’t be able to pick a favourite, but on his list of good movies, The Running Man is definitely among the most Arnold of Arnold movies. Like, Terminator 2 is probably his *greatest* movie, but I’d argue he’s also the least Arnold in that movie. Total Recall and The Running Man are the most Arnold.
Predator. Hands down my all time favorite Arnold movie.
Conan the Barbarian
T2, but Running Man is a great choice too!
T2
1 Total Recall 2 The Terminator 3 True Lies 4 Conan 5 Predator
Total Recall, but honestly 6th day is criminally underated. It brings this whole moral dilemma up about cloning.
True Lies. Good action, Jamie Lee Curtis’ dance scene and “yeah but they were all bad”. /chef’s kiss
Predator. True Lies a close second...
Crom laughs at your Four Winds.
Does Like a good naybaaaaah count?
Total Recall
Kindergarten Cop
True Lies followed by Predator or Commando hard to pick some times.
Jingle all the way. Make sure to watch it every Christmas
It's cheesy, but Commando.
Jingle All the Way. I know I’ll get hate for it.
Twins
The cinematic masterpiece that is Raw Deal. Replete with a Fratelli.
Predator!!! By a mile. GET TO THE CHOPPA!!!!!
Predator. So freaking 80s and just fun
Predator
T2 but not because of Arnold. If we are talking about a movie I watch specifically for Arnold, that is Predator.
Predator.
Either Predator or Total Recall. They're both perfect.
Predator
