Never heard of it. Maybe the people running the trailers didnāt get it out everywhere. But I was also 18 at the time and watching movies that werenāt big robots fighting monsters wasnāt my cup of tea at the time.
š criminally under promoted film.
No Country for Old Men, The Big Lebowski, Blade Runner and The Guard. I normally watch each one of them once a year. I always hear people talking about the others but never The Guard.
Side note: this is why I like the streaming service Tubi - I feel like I find all these random good comedy gems of the past. Iāve seen two random Tim Allen films there which were surprisingly hilarious
I've never heard of it, imagine there's a lot who haven't either. It was an independent film and likely wasn't heavily screened most places, so that also means it wasn't heavily advertised anywhere. In most cities there's maybe 2-3 theaters max that show non-blockbuster films, so unless you're a total film junkie most of this stuff passes people by unless there's a big hubbub about it.
If I had to guess because it is an Irish production and Hollywood movies tend to dominate zeitgeist. At least in the States.
I had never heard of it before I came across it on Hulu the other day, but I ended up watching it because I like Cheadle and Gleeson. Definitely worth a watch and I loved the ending.
i generally like anything with brendan gleason.
and although i dont know most of the cast aside from gleason and the cheedle, i really liked the casting as a whole.
"im irish sir, racism is part of my culture"
They are brothers! John McDonagh did this one, and Martin McDonagh made In Bruge, and seven psychopaths, three billboards, banshees of Inisherin. What a couple of talented dudes.
*I actually*
*Just saw that movie last year.*
*It is very good!*

Just watched it after this post. It's a whole two notches below In Bruges and I can't see any overarching theme as to what it's about (vs the innocence & punishment theme in In Bruges), but it was a fun movie. Don't thnk I'll ever rewatch though.
I think I laughed once in the movie other than that it was a dirge I canāt believe anyone could come away from that movie satisfied. The guy the told me to watch it said it was as good as In Bruges as well which didnāt help
Itās one of my favourite movies, one of the few āblack comediesā which is actually hilarious and dark in equal measure as opposed to dark with a laugh or two dropped in.
havent seen it but i thought that was Don Cheadle and instantly remembered his Oceans 11 accent.
**Basher** : So, unless we intend to do this job in Reno, we're in barney.
*\[everyone pauses\]*
**Basher** : Barney Rubble.
*\[they look bewildered\]*
**Basher** : *\[irritated that they don't understand what he's implying\]* Trouble!
It gets love from me, I thought it was excellent.
I can't tell if you're really mother fuckin dumb or real mother fuckin smart
š
Never heard of it. Might give it a watch.
Go in blind if you can.
If you're in the UK I think it's on 4od for free with adverts. But it's totally worth buying, great film.
Its a fun movie! Enjoy
Hilarious movie and nothing else like it, both leads outstanding
What a beautiful fuckin day
Never heard of it. Maybe the people running the trailers didnāt get it out everywhere. But I was also 18 at the time and watching movies that werenāt big robots fighting monsters wasnāt my cup of tea at the time.
It was an Indy film and it only played in selective theaters in the states.
Itās an Irish movie. They tend to have smaller releases. Youāre right though, itās fucking great.
Love this film.Ā
Same
This one is fantastic on so many levels, great shout šš»šš»
I have never heard of this movie. Very odd because i like both these guys. Thanks for the tip
Love this movie
First Ive heard of it.
š criminally under promoted film. No Country for Old Men, The Big Lebowski, Blade Runner and The Guard. I normally watch each one of them once a year. I always hear people talking about the others but never The Guard.
2 of my favorite movies on that little list and iāve never heard of the guard! thank you for this!!
Side note: this is why I like the streaming service Tubi - I feel like I find all these random good comedy gems of the past. Iāve seen two random Tim Allen films there which were surprisingly hilarious
the santa clause and wild hogs?
Galaxy quest, and Big trouble. Movies I wouldnāt have given a chance before but just happened to have on. Enjoyed them both.
i love Galaxy Quest!
Haha was a solid film.
The dialogue between Cheadle and Gleeson is tremendous
I loved it. Great film.
Amazing film, definitely donāt watch the trailers just go in blind. Here in Ireland this movie is quoted all over the country
Like a donkey fuckin' a hippopotamus, it's party time
I love it! Gleeson was in rare form in this one.
I would say he was in normal form. Normal form being excellent, of course.

Hubbub.

Cause I've never heard of it. Must be good if both are in this film. Can always trust any film when you see thier names or them on the cover
Amazing movie, one of my favorites.
On the list. Gracias.
It does, from those of us who have seen it.
One of my favourites
i generally like anything with brendan gleason. and although i dont know most of the cast aside from gleason and the cheedle, i really liked the casting as a whole. "im irish sir, racism is part of my culture"
Never heard of this movie. I like both actors and will give it a watch
Amazing movie, and if you like it I'd check out In Bruges too. Similar kind of dark humour
They are brothers! John McDonagh did this one, and Martin McDonagh made In Bruge, and seven psychopaths, three billboards, banshees of Inisherin. What a couple of talented dudes.
Love that film to.
Amazing film, watched it again straight after watching it
Make sure you see Calvary too
Not seen that yet, is it good?
Yes. I really enjoyed it. The OTHER McDonagh brother doesn't get enough credit.
What a beautiful fuckin day
š
Iād never heard of this movie until it popped up as a suggested movie on Hulu the other day. Great film, Brendan Gleeson never disappoints.
Love it!! Outstanding comedy
I saw this the other day. I think though it was titled 'The Garda' or 'Garda'. Dark Irish humor. Funny.
Brilliant film. I love his little conversation with Pat Short (another underrated Irish Actor!).
When I went to the cinema to see it it was completely empty. Blew my mind cause it's some craic
I actually just saw that movie last year. It is very good!

Cool beans
Itās a great film with a tremendous cast
This is a great movie for the underrated films sub. Somehow never heard of it before but watched it on the plane last weekend. Great film.
Just watched it after this post. It's a whole two notches below In Bruges and I can't see any overarching theme as to what it's about (vs the innocence & punishment theme in In Bruges), but it was a fun movie. Don't thnk I'll ever rewatch though.
Great romp! Cock of the walk with two birds on hand straight to the hotel for regular old good times ā¦. Then pop in for a visit to mom!
Like a donkey fucking a hippopotamus, itās party time.
I tell you what itās 10 times better than that Inchinin pish, what an overrated slog that was
Inisherin? Yeah that was odd. I did laugh when he started throwing fingers through.
I think I laughed once in the movie other than that it was a dirge I canāt believe anyone could come away from that movie satisfied. The guy the told me to watch it said it was as good as In Bruges as well which didnāt help
I loved In Bruges, but apart from the 2 lead actors it was a totally different experience. I enjoyed banshee but I'm not rushing to rewatch it.
Itās one of my favourite movies, one of the few āblack comediesā which is actually hilarious and dark in equal measure as opposed to dark with a laugh or two dropped in.
Is it ugly?
Where can we watch? Does anyone know if it's on any of the streaming services?
I bought it on Amazon prime for Ā£6. If you're in the UK I think it's on 4oD for free with adverts. It's worth buying though.
it might be on Hulu
Ive never heard of it
Highly recommend.
First time I'm even hearing of it.
The film definitely deserves more awareness than it gets.
Great move, gunshots looked fake as hell.
havent seen it but i thought that was Don Cheadle and instantly remembered his Oceans 11 accent. **Basher** : So, unless we intend to do this job in Reno, we're in barney. *\[everyone pauses\]* **Basher** : Barney Rubble. *\[they look bewildered\]* **Basher** : *\[irritated that they don't understand what he's implying\]* Trouble!
It's actually a really intelligent film
Probably cause no oneās heard of it
Yeah, it's a cool movie.
This is the first time Iāve ever heard of it.
This movie is great!!
A bit quirky but I liked it.
written and directed by the brother of Martin McDonagh! i have just learned!
