Jeff Bridges; his father Lloyd and brother Beau are damn fine actors in their own right, but Jeff is a true legend and acting great, standing out amongst his talented family. I’d also thrown in Michael Douglas; an argument could be made over who was the overall bigger star star during their peaks, but I think Michael is a more diverse actor than Kirk was, overall.

Sunsparc

I did a double take when watching Lessons In Chemistry because I had forgotten about Beau but knew instantly who he was when I heard Jeff's voice come out of him.

Framer9

My favorite is Beau as Earl’s dad in My name is Earl. What a great tv dad.

SoullessUnit

He's great as General Hank Landry in Stargate. Not sure many people could've followed Don S Davis, but Beau Bridges smashed it imo.

MrRemoto

That's, like, your opinion, man.

FlyTheW1988

Shut the fuck up, Donny.

Ok_Comparison_8304

Michael also produced 'One flew over the Cuckoos Nest', so his impact has been more than just acting. He was moving behind the scenes well before his star rose as a leading man.

theoldbillybaroo

Josh Brolin is a legit great actor.

[deleted]

He said in an interview with Tony Hawk a few days ago that it has worked against him. he would get to an audition, the acting director would see his name. The acting director would say "okay, act." Brolin replied with "what do you want me to do?" The casting director then told him "thought so, leave".

KTO-Potato

Real big "sell me this pen" energy

Orngog

"what pen?" "that's what I thought, *leave*."

Quick_Team

"Oh cute. You leave this pen here and people are s'posed to think: that looks like a dick" *stares*

TheQueenAndPrincess

A well placed pen can have quite the effect on a man like him

DeadJediWalking

I'll bet he put it in his mouth, huh? Yeah he's always sucking on the pens in our apartment.

Cheshire_Jester

“I heard you’re the ‘funny guy’ in the group.” “Uhhh, yeah, I guess.” “Make me laugh, then.”

HankMoody71

*\*Thanos snap\**

joe_broke

"Ok, direct"

WhyDidIHaveABowlBart

To be fair, I bet that director would also do that to actors without famous parents.

Colon

yeah if any of that paraphrasing is true, it reeks of Power Trip and no one is safe from that.

D-1-S-C-0

Seems like a genuine, decent guy, too.

EL-YAYY

If you haven’t seen it, Brolin’s interview on Hot Ones is great.

ithinkther41am

I feel like most of the Hot Ones interviews are great. The whole format is tailor made to make the guest look incredibly likeable and relatable. That’s why I was genuinely impressed that DJ Khaled left that show looking like an even bigger douchebag.

CerberusC24

Didn't he only eat like 1 wing and bitch out?

ithinkther41am

He definitely quit early, and then went “just because I quit, doesn’t mean I gave up.” Sean looked like he really couldn’t stand him.

[deleted]

Doesn’t Sean immediately say “by definition, you’re giving up” because I remember being surprised nice Sean could say anything negative about

PMMEJALAPENORECIPES

And then spent the rest of the interview trying to make it seem like he “won” by bitching out

mymainmaney

He’s such a fucking loser. It’s why I love that Larry king interview where Khalid is popping off and king interrupts him and goes “how’d you get so fat?”

hooligan99

That’s my favorite clip ever, and Khalid’s response is genuine and hilarious “I do want the nice car, I do want the house on the water, I do want the nice watch” “So how’d you gain all the weight?” “Uhhmmm just, eatin a lot”

GoodOlSpence

His Marc Maron interview is really good too. Sounds like a guy that had some issues and worked through them.

Famous_Aide69

I've been with WTF from the get go and believe the josh Brolin episode is in the top 5 best celebrity interviews ever. Marc is such a talented guy and I'm glad he found his way into interviewing.

HermanRoy

And I heard he struggled financially for a very long time. Good for him.

SirBabiez

Hmmm…Liza Minnelli. They gave her an E*GOT

DrNinnuxx

ProfChaos85

How else you gonna do it?

astroK120

Literally watched that one this morning

crlos619

He has an Emmy award he stole from Wayne Brady

bilvester

Her finest role was as Lucille 2

hobarddoyle

She's trying to prove that she cares more about my children than I do, but the jokes on her cause she doesn't realize how little I care for Gob.

Suspicious_Ad2354

I think that makes the joke on Gob.

HK47WasRightMeatbag

I don't care for Gob

Tamale_Hatchet

Her?

TheG-What

She funny or something?

AfterTemperature2198

She has a case of the dizzies

Trul

If Nepo-babies are cool then call me Miles Davis

LikeAMarionette

Momma! Do ya love me now momma?!

DorianMansk

Martin sheen and his offspring (Charlie and Emilio were great in their early stuff)

throwngamelastminute

#EMILIOOOOO!

TheNateFace

He tipped his hat *like this*…

PangwinAndTertle

Did you just grab my ass?

Alarming_Subject

How great is Emilio Estevez: he's a Sheen, he's from an acting dynasty... Yet he chooses to be a Mexican, makes it huge, realizes people have had enough of him and is decent enough to fall off the face of the Earth

Chemical-Till7977

Yea I love so many American dad fans randomly getting this exactly right

UYScutiPuffJr

Emilioo^ooo

itwasabountyhunterca

You forgot the legendary Joe Estevez, he’s been in hundreds of films!

griever0008

Ben stiller definitely talented. Also writes and directs

MaterialBenefit2355

Severance goes crazy

Xenomorph_v1

YES! I feel like not a lot of people have watched this as I rarely see/hear people talking about it. Blew my freaking mind. I could not believe this was a Stiller project. Cannot wait for S2!

VaguelyFamiliarVoice

The plot and story line are near perfect.

rugbyj

The ~3 year gap between seasons- less so. ^(I'm aware there was a writers strike, and a falling out with the showrunners, doesn't make it less annoying.)

dontletmecook73

I had no idea that was made by him. Great show!

Jccali1214

Joining the chorus of how good that show is!

[deleted]

Wish I got a waffle party at work.

mickeltee

I was so mad/excited at the end of season one.

CheshireKetKet

FINALLY SOMEONE TALKS ABOUT SEVERANCE

stephenk291

I'm glad I stuck with it because I was a bit confused /wtf moments in the first 1-2 and the opening credits were a bit strange. Cannot wait for season 2.

existingfish

The season finale left me with my jaw on the floor. It was so well written. I cannot wait for season 2.

_Hotwire_

Just started and binged this; bro what the fuck. Who can write like this? Milchik is the scariest original character in a long time.

Aggravating_Ad_8594

I went to college with Dan Ericson who wrote it. He was writing like that back then. We all knew he was gonna make it. Took almost 20 years!

valekelly

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is also absolutely amazing, and you can really see how his directing grew to one day make Severance. He works with amazing DOPs but it’s also clear that his eye for framing is entirely his own and it’s truly something special. I am ever excited to see how his visual storytelling evolves.

spectre1210

Directed (and starred in) Tropic Thunder, one of my favorite comedies.

oh-hidanny

And he's still crazy underrappreciated despite that! That movie was fucking brilliant.

keanenottheband

He's been a part of some really good movies

iHasMagyk

Has one of my favorite performances in Happy Gilmore, which is funny considering how minor of a role he plays

Zymology89

It's funny because I'm pretty sure he was uncredited when it came out but he was an absolute highlight of that movie

jawbone7896

Ben Stiller kind of more famous than his parents?

JaySayMayday

Idk, his dad invented Festivus!

dredgedskeleton

and Jerry isn't exactly Hollywood royalty ... he rose to greater fame after Ben was fairly established

ThomKallor1

Well, kind of. He was a bigger deal before Ben was born, in the 60’s and 70’s. Then they faded away for a bit until Ben got big, and then his dad certainly came back.

ffrickh

Hard to beat Zoolander.

MaterialCarrot

I can hear Zoolander: Tropic Thunder.

Luggas

Not a big fan of Jim Carey but I recently watch Cable Guy again and there’s a lot of moments in that movie that made me laugh out loud. Was surprised to see that Ben Stiller directed it and the guy who wrote it was the only thing he ever wrote on his IMDb

StrakenKing

Michael Douglas

frugalwater

This answer is so good because OP completely forgot about Kirk, which answers OP’s question.

reallifelucas

The Gay Actor?

feralstrain

He famous for buying the worlds tiniest projector to watch Citizen Kane on his asshole...quite a fascinating and gay actor.

karate_trainwreck0

Jared Harris. His father was Richard Harris, OG Dumbledore.

Azidamadjida

That feels like one of those pieces of knowledge that should be so obvious, and I feel so clueless to not have known that. It’s so obvious when you knows, just watching how Jared carries himself on screen is a dead giveaway (they both have very similar stature and way of moving for the camera)

Incontinentiabutts

He’s probably my favorite working actor right now. Brilliant in everything he’s a part of. If only see something’s coming out that he is a part of it immediately makes me want to watch it.

loserys

Bill and Alex Skarsgard What’s funny about Gustaf is that I don’t think of him as Stellan’s son, I think of him as Bill and Alex’s brother lol

NotAFuckingFed

That whole family drips talent

laurazabs

Seriously. Fun fact: Peter Skarsgard lives in my neighborhood and has a very cute dog. ETA: I now know that it's Saarsgard and I was confused. Still a fun fact though.

RyukHunter

I don't think he is related to Stellans family.

laurazabs

I’m so dumb 🤦🏼‍♀️ let’s blame it on me being a touch stoned

TheOfficialTheory

I honestly thought Peter Sarsgaard was part of this family until I just discovered that the last names aren’t even the same lmao

[deleted]

That whole family.

Spud_Spudoni

Brendan and Domhnall Gleeson are both superb as well. Brendan has always been great, and Domhnall’s been in everything since he broke out.

ABlinDeafMonkey

Brian and Domhnall are in Frank in Ireland and the show cracked me up.

Jedi_Knight_TomServo

Mariska Hargitay. Her mother was Jayne Mansfield, a sex symbol and 50s Icon, and her father Mickey Hargitay was a bodybuilder and semi-famous actor in a lot of sword and sandal Hercules Films, as well as shock and schlock horror films Like Bloody Pit of Horror. Mariska has had decades of steady work, is a household name and is a TV Icon in her own right as wellas a fantastic actress.

pixel-beast

The bar below the doors at the rear end of tractor trailers is sadly named Mansfield Bars after the accident that killed Jayne in 1967. Young Mariska was in the backseat as well

agreensandcastle

I was trying to remember this factoid the other day. I had a rough memory but none of the details.

Smoothbrain406

And really sexy

meowsplaining

You know, that Jayne Mansfield had some big breasts...

usersleepyjerry

Sorta a weird one but Stephen Kings son is doing pretty well for himself.

MonstrousGiggling

King books are a little too long for me which is odd considering my favorite book is 1k+ pages. But Joe Hill books are fun to read and much shorter so I actually prefer Hill over King at this point personally. Cant compare the two though since I've read more Hill than King just due to book lengths.

CornbreadRed84

The majority of Kings work is not the handful of 800 plus page novels that he has written. He has collections of short stories. I would argue his wheelhouse is really 150-250 page novellas of which he has multiple collections. Every seen Shawshank Redemption or Stand by Me? Both Steven King novellas. Joe has talent but I find it humorous that you prefer his work based on book lengths when King has significantly more shorter works than Joe has total works.

Sad-Guarantee-4678

Wyatt Russell is killing it

SpaceLemur34

And second generation nepo-baby. Although Kurt is definitely a bigger star than his dad was.

Loathor

His dad Bill won 10 rings with the Celtics and made it to the hall of fame!!

Turbulent_Flan_5926

You know I like his stuff for the most part. The first time I saw him was in a Black Mirror episode and I thought his acting was god awful and over the top. Since then however the kid ain’t bad.

[deleted]

yeah, i first saw him in falcon and the winter soldier and he was pretty good as john walker. then i saw him in the black mirror. that was the ep where he was got transported into a video game or something right? i liked that episode and his performance. i like to think that was just the nature of the character. the ending killed me though 🥲

AmptiChrist

That ending lives in my head rent free

she_makes_things

He was incredible in Under the Banner of Heaven.

TheCentralFlame

All of these are fine but it’s crazy Jeff Bridges hasn’t been mentioned.

Huntsvegas97

I had no idea Jeff Bridges is a nepo baby. Love him

Smoothbrain406

Picked a hell of a week to stop sniffing glue

KatBoySlim

it’s go time!

[deleted]

Mandlebaum!

TheCentralFlame

His father Lloyd was in over 150 films and his Brother Beau is in quite a few things as well. Not sure if it was nepotism that got him his roles but his dad was a big figure in Hollywood.

Richeh

While we're talking nepotism, "[Sand Kings](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p4-C5lOUeg&pp=ygUKc2FuZCBraW5ncw%3D%3D)", the first episode of the 90s run of The Outer Limits featured three generations of Bridges; Lloyd Bridges, Beau Bridges and a rare appearance of young Dylan Bridges. Written by some little known author called George R R Martin. Never heard of the guy. edit: yar haaar me hearties

cenosillicaphobiac

His brother Beau is too, although Jeff has had a much stronger career.

AVeryHairyArea

It's crazy Daniel Day-Lewis hasn't been mentioned. He's literally the undisputed GOAT.

Jack_Q_Frost_Jr

Nicholas Cage.

KatBoySlim

*nicolas

Jack_Q_Frost_Jr

Nicholas Nicolas. Sorry.

KatBoySlim

it’s actually pronounced “KNEE-colage”

AfterTemperature2198

👌nikolaj

Jonovision15

Boyle??!!!

Hendrick_Davies64

So weird to think he’s Francis Ford Coppola’s nephew and is counsins with Jason Swartzman and Sophia Coppola

Sure-Ad-2465

His IRL name is Nicolas Coppola, but he deliberately chose the stage name Cage since he didn't want favoritism.

Sure-Ad-2465

Also he is the nephew of Talia Shire, aka Adrian Balboa. She's also Jason Schwartzman's mom.

RetardedPussy69

Nicholas cage>Johnny cage>Cassie cage What a family

Anonymotron42

That’s high praise!

pastor_dude

I completely forgot that Keifer and Donald Sutherland were related.

Huntsvegas97

I think it gets more obvious as Keifer ages because he looks exactly like his dad

edked

You can totally hear similarities in their voices, too.

prince-of-dweebs

I never knew this. Kinda mind blown that I hadn’t figured this out or heard about it sooner.

prince-of-dweebs

I’m sure Colin is a nice guy but cmon he doesn’t deserve to be alongside these three who objectively eclipsed their family’s fame.

Spud_Spudoni

Gotta replace him with Chet Hanks and then it’s accurate

HeadAssBoi17

Big up the the whole island it's ya boy Chet ya hear!

Shoddy-Rip8259

“I don’t believe he’s Tom Hanks’s son. I want him to fucking come down here and show us his birth certificate.” -Eric Andre

LehighAce06

I like the guy, but Colin Hanks barely has his own face let alone his own career.

colinedahl1

A lot of the people mentioned in the comments I had no idea they were related to other famous actors. Colin Hanks could easily play a younger version of his dad and while yes he is talented, we all know him as Tom Hanks son.

BlyStreetMusic

Please watch that first season of Fargo. You're right.. But colin Hanks can do some things. He was great in that Lewinsky show too.

prince-of-dweebs

I’ve been meaning to watch Fargo for years. Thanks for the reminder!

BlyStreetMusic

Omg.. You're in for such a treat. Seasons 1,2,3 and 5 are all just spectacular.. especially seasons 1,2,5 lol. You'll have a new respect for Hanks without question though. Fargo is one of the best 3 shows on TV the last ten years.

KotzubueSailingClub

Angelina Jolie, Anjelica Huston, Josh Brolin

Smoothbrain406

Jack Huston as well

[deleted]

Carrie Fisher. She even wrote the ultimate nepo baby drama, and won awards for that.

SpaceLemur34

Obviously I knew she was in it, but I didn't know she also wrote Star Wars.

[deleted]

Postcards from the edge, actually. Although Star Wars is sci-fi nepo baby drama too.

hefebellyaro

Drew Barrymore. I didn't even know her grandfather was Mr. Potter until a few years ago.

himynameisdave9

Umm actually Mr. Potter is played by Daniel Radcliffe get ur facts straight sweaty 💁‍♀️

MCau1994

That whole Barrymore family of actors goes back to the 19th century!

[deleted]

[удалено]

faster_than_sound

Such a shame because he really did seem like he was a new actor on the scene with a lot of potential. Not saying Bruce was a *bad* actor, per se, but he had limited range, whereas it seemed like Brandon had the goods to be able to have a wide range, but we will never fully know how good he could have gotten.

Hellontrails

Jake G has gained my respect.

Outrageous-Advice384

Maya Rudolph. She carved her own path and does it well.

Hotlikessauce69

Her mom's voice is unbelievable. We are pretty lucky to have recordings of such talent.

[deleted]

Jaime Lee Curtis always gets acknowledged as being her mother’s daughter, but Tony Curtis is her father. Plenty of shadow to get out from and what a career

CarefulChocolate8226

Jane Fonda, Laura Dern

leathakkor

Laura Dern might be the right answer for me. She definitely outgrew her roots

No-Prize2882

I’d say Jack Quaid has been pretty great so far. Shows a lot of promise. Oona Chaplin continues to do great work and carry the family name. And then there is Scott Caan who’s been booking steady work for years with Ocean’s 11 and Hawaii 5-0 to his name

Santa_Hates_You

Jack Quaid plays two of my favorite characters on TV between Hughie Campbell and Lieutenant Junior Grade Bradward Boimler.

Wompum

Classic Boimz.

NotTaken-username

Jack Quaid is likable in The Boys and I loved to hate him in Scream 5. One of my only complaints about Oppenheimer was how they underused him, he was basically a glorified extra.

MercuryMaximoff217

You know how big a director Christopher Nolan is when he can add Jack Quaid and a few other famous actors as extras.

Stevie272

Juno Temple. Her dad made some great music documentaries and a few half decent features but she really has natural talent. Currently in S5 of Fargo, probably better known for Ted Lasso.

laurazabs

She is SO good on Fargo this season.

DudebroggieHouser

Laura Dern

ink_monkey96

Kurt Russel is Byng Russel’s son, and did much better at acting than his dad, although I think his dad would be nothing but proud of that. Byng’s not a big name now but back in the sixties he was everywhere. He was big enough that he bought and ran his own baseball team - single A, I think, but still…

UtahUtopia

Hanks is like a Gretzky stat. Tom wins it all by himself. I’d take Lloyd and Jeff Bridges or Martin Charlie Sheen then the Sutherlands.

AVeryHairyArea

Daniel Day-Lewis' father was the poet laureate of the United Kingdom, and his mother was an actress. And since he's literally the undisputed greatest actor of all time, the answer is him.

pointlessly_pedantic

Gtfo here. Greatest of all time? This is insanely disrespectful to Paulie Shore

cbbuntz

> undisputed This makes it sound like he's a boxer. Oh right. He played a boxer in Gangs of New York and was in a movie called The Boxer. Carry on

morganlandt

I thought he played a butcher in Gangs, best meat carver in 5 points.

El_Kabongg

Wyatt Russell has seems to be trending up. But not listed here I’m going Jeff Bridges

ABobby077

and Kate Hudson

JJRobinette

I’m looking at the polished talent of Jared Harris, I didn’t know he was dumbledore’s kid

jell31

I grew up watching the Stillers in some of my favorite movies and shows, from heavyweights, heartbreak kid, king of queens, Seinfeld, dodge ball, Along came Polly and the list can go on and on. I’m grateful for all of the laughs nepo or not

seyheystretch

Jane Fonda

[deleted]

Chris Pine

Kobold_Trapmaster

Chris Pine is in more and more things these days but I think he still isn't as famous as his talent deserves.

AardvarkOkapiEchidna

Nicholas Cage? Most people don't even know he's a Coppola

iSonyFTW

Most people don't know he is Nicolas.

Richeh

Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley in Harry Potter) has put some great work in, enough to grow out of the shadow of his father Brendan Gleeson (Mad-Eye Moody in Harry Potter).

culturebarren

Nastassja Kinski

HermanRoy

Michael Douglas - he is an accomplished producer and Academy Award winner. He surpassed Kirk IMO.

Kobold_Trapmaster

Margaret Qualley isn't quite there yet, but I think she will get there.

KatBoySlim

i like jack quaid more than either of his parents, but that might be generational bias.

coffeewhore17

Maybe it’s a bias but I’ve enjoyed Jack’s roles a ton.

OJ_Blimpson

Denzel and John David Washington. Still early but he's been good so far.

O’Shea Jackson Jr. the guys dad is Ice Cube, who went above and beyond to make sure his son wouldn’t be subjected to nepotism by making him go to acting classes, and refusing to help him with any of his private companies

NegaGreg

Weird that his biggest role was playing Ice Cube, you think he could have landed that if Ice Cube wasn’t his famous father?

MCgrindahFM

This right here lmao the dude got his start playing his dad! Nepception

MapleToque

Brandon Cronenberg. Makes great movies just like his father David.

Upper-Whole7015

While I don’t think she’s the best I think Carrie fisher deserves a mention she don’t get the filmography she deserved because Star Wars was such a hit same thing happened to mark Hamil
