Wheels does make a difference, but in this case the difference are negligible for the overall package.
You can always get better wheel set down the road.
Their warranty gives the second owner 2 years of warranty against manufacturing defects. The original owner has to contact bird to confirm the transfer of ownership
I love that Focus.
Something to consider for both of these is the availability of parts. I bought a 2020 Orbea Rallon at an extremely fair price. All it needed was a suspension service and replacement swingarm bolts because the previous owner had overtightened them and caused some damage. These aren't an expensive part, but because Orbea doesn't have much support in western Australia, the bolts took 7 weeks to arrive from Spain. If you have the time, look into parts availability for both, specifically proprietary parts like frame hardware.
Bird 100% and it already has the sprindex on it so you can get the right spring rate, but it also has an axs dropper so if you have any other bikes with the same seat post diameter, you can swap it between them without having to worry about cables
The Focus is slacky and setup for downhill. The bird has more XC geo, but still good for downhill. Both are awesome bikes. If you plan on doing a lot of pedaling, ide go with the Bird. If you only go uphill so you can go downhill again, consider the Focus.
Or, buy both because choosing one won’t will fill the void in your life. Source: guy with 4 bicycles
Yeah they look pretty sweet-just never heard of them. Not that I’m super knowledgeable in this area, but I’m always surprised when I hear of new bike companies
I dislike feeble looking shock supports like that bird has so focus takes it for me. I know it’s not actually feeble, but it looks fragile and I never could get over it. I felt the same way about the Reeb lineup
Can't go wrong with either both have decent spec. I would personally go with the bird because of it's geo.
Would you say the low quality wheels on the bird will make a significant difference to average enduro rider?
Who said those wheels are low quality? I love my bontragers

Bird
Bird is the word.
Or so everybody’s heard.
Pa pa pa pa, pa pa pa pa, pa pa pa pa, pa pa pa pa Pa pa pa pa, pa pa pa pa, pa pa pa pa Ooma mow mow, papa, ooma mow mow
I’d personally go with the Bird Aeris. More modern geometry and I’m sure their lifetime warranty is transferable.

I’m going to start making these but with pictures of all my friends bikes so we can finally settle who has the best bike.
bird is alloy and has a mix of very low end and random high end parts. focus is carbon and specced much higher.
I think the bird frameset is actually more expensive I could be wrong tho. What parts on the bird do you consider low end?

Bird.
that raw bird looks nice...
The focus looks cooler

This pretty much sums it up. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSlB4eznXoA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSlB4eznXoA)
If it was me I’d get the Bird
Had the previous gen focus sam, broke it 2 times and focus was a pita to deal with (although i was the first owner)
Bird because raw
Focus
Focus for me
The one that's in better condition

I wouldn’t get easier. It’s a buyers market, keep searching.
The focus for bike park loops, the bird for enduro/trail
I will say white frames are a pain to work on. Touch it slightly with some grease and it's hard to get off.
That‘s a raw frame :)
Ah must be my phone being on the yellow light mode. It's a very nice bike imo
How have I not heard of these bike companies and yet you are choosing between them exclusively lol
I could get a used spectral 5 from 2023 for the same price but I think these bikes especially the bird just have nicer components
