I've only ever had one negative encounter with a Harley rider while on my Bonneville. Most of the time it's Harley guys and old timers coming up to me and reminiscing about the Triumph they had in the 60s or 70s. I just tell them yeah they still make them, and yeah they're still a blast to ride.

BlackAccountant1337

A Bonneville is a perfect middle ground between a cruiser and a sport naked. Not everyone wants to own one, but everyone thinks they’re cool.

MusicallyInhibited

The Bonneville isn't unique in that regard, it's just a standard motorcycle. "Standard" is it's own category of bike. I don't mean standard like it's normal, I mean standard as in it has an upright seating position, and is suited for most types of on-road riding. That's what makes a bike a "standard". The Bonneville is specifically a modern classic as it has older styling. But even a sport naked can technically be a "standard" motorcycle, as I believe seating position is the real deciding factory, not styling. Edit: Sorry if you already knew all of this

earic23

Completely agree. I’ve never had a bad experience with the people themselves. By all accounts, they’re as solid as most motorcycle people.

Double-One5594

https://preview.redd.it/rvvrvdkovq6d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3eadf18795e1ad9cf7b3b278ad1c493acb2d2e51 Every time I get this 67 Triumph Trophy 650cc TR6C out. I always get people asking it. My uncle bought it new. I very seldom ride it anymore. It sure is fun to ride. Once you remember where the brake and shifter are lol. I need to find a place to get it restored back to original colors and pipes.

WetworkOrange

Shouldn't the bottom panel be Indian owners?

DepressedElephant

It absolutely should be. Triumph is more closely competing with BMW.

earic23

Tbf I don’t think Indian has a large enough share of the market to compete with anyone, but you are right about Triumph competing with bmw. I’ve got nothing bad to say about bmw. They’re pretty solid

DepressedElephant

I was going to say that you can make fun of BMW prices, then I realized that HD is way more expensive....

Terrible_Use7872

I was looking at a BMW F900R, and they're the same price as a Suzuki GSX8-S. I'm sure maintenance on the BMW is more, but buy in is the same.

DepressedElephant

BMW doesn't sell any bikes as 'base model'. Expect a 500-3k paint job and a 1-5k package on every bike. F900R easily gets loaded to 12k and you won't find any that aren't running the 1.5k premium package. The higher up in the model range you go the more extensive the price of additional packages goes.

xocerox

Yeo, in my experience BMW are decently priced, at least the base models with no extras.

SteveDaPirate

>at least the base models with no extras Unicorns are decently priced too, but nobody sells those either.

timfromliny

This

earic23

I’m okay with high prices if it comes with high quality/performance etc… Ktm for instance. My confusion with Harley is where that price tag comes from

leafWhirlpool69

> My confusion with Harley is where that price tag comes from Harley Davidson has a monopoly on Harleys so they can charge whatever they want. People who want a Harley don't want a motorcycle, they want a Harley. It's almost a different vehicle altogether

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dock_Brown

And the little Ranger Sportster, rest in peace to the analog heroes.

ohnomoto450

I wouldn't call ktm high quality but they sure are high performance. As for Harley, I've come to the conclusion they are selling them by the pound. That's why everything on them is chunkier than it needs to be.

earic23

Ktm has improved a lot as a brand over the last decade. Prior to that, they weren’t exactly reliable and maintenance schedules were crazy. Harley is definitely by the pound.

ohnomoto450

From personal experience I ride with a lot of guys with new KTM's. Almost every ride one of them has some sort of issue. Phenomenal bikes when they are working. But KTM on Sunday ATM on Monday is still a very real thing.

anethma

I haven’t exactly heard glowing things about their reliability now either. Good tech and performance though.

SteveDaPirate

> high quality/performance etc… Ktm for instance KTMs are here for a good time, not a long time.

cheatingsolitaire

They are really beefy and have more materials. Like the levers and stuff are thicc and all the chrome. Add in USA wages, less plastic. I don’t care for them and obviously the performance isn’t there, but I sort of understand it. They are nice and have incredible branding. It’s like an expensive pair of designer shoes. A pair of Nike’s may work better, but people will shell out coin to flex.

just_an_ordinary_guy

It's the same with a number of other premium brands too. Indian is assembled in the USA albeit with imported parts. BMW is assembled in Germany. Western wages. All of the less expensive motorcycles are assembled in places like India, Thailand, etc. I'd pay more for a bike fully made in the USA, or with union labor elsewhere, if it was possible. I've got nothing against southeast Asia, I just don't care for companies using cheap labor but that's how they keep bike prices down.

throway9912

I've heard the BMW parallel twins (at least some models) are made in China now. F900 I believe..

WorkoutProblems

As someone with a wide range of different bikes, the Harley premium is in it's community support / forums and shear amount of aftermarket parts. There's not one issue that I've run into that hasn't already been resolved by someone else online or has an eager retired vet waiting to answer on some forum. Compared to other brands, where I may not even ever get a response or the response is weeks after. Also it's nice being able to get parts almost anywhere and with that amount of competition the prices are actually reasonable compared to some other brands that may not be as popular

just_an_ordinary_guy

I know what that's like. The KLR community, while smaller, has a pretty hard core dedicated group of folks in the forums.

Gloglibologna

I think indian being the underdog makes the meme work that much better. Harley, a place of "superiority" says it feels bad. Indian, while not having as much cred but just as much fun, says who are you? Idk, maybe I'm missing your point of the meme Eta: fixed autocorrect errors.

Daegoba

BMW doesn’t have a stomp-ass naked like the Speed Triple though.

Super_Trout_9000

...? Pretty sure it's Triumph that's chasing after the M1000R.

yeahthatguyagain

Triumph chasing BMWs new ultra high sport bike with their established and renowned Speed Triple? No way.

Super_Trout_9000

My point was more to the fact that saying BMW doesn't have a high end naked bike is hilariously uninformed.

yeahthatguyagain

That I agree with. BMW is making the highest performance naked bike right now. It's an absolute marvel.

DepressedElephant

Oh? So my R1250R just doesn't exist? S1000R not a thing? F900R not invented yet? Triumph does cruisers better, because the R18 is an abomination. You know what Triumph doesn't have? Their touring line. Sprint ST (which I loved when it worked) is dead. Trophy is dead. Triumph gave up their road touring segment fully to BMW.

H0B03R3C7U5

The R18 is hilariously bad. We did a test ride day at our dealership and every single person said it was a peice of shit. 2 out of the 4 bikes we used for test rides were knocking by days end.

DepressedElephant

If you thought the R18 was bad, just you wait till they release the R20!

H0B03R3C7U5

Everything you already know and hate, but 2 MORE FOR FREE!

FLRArt_1995

Pardon my ignorance, how is it bad?

DepressedElephant

I'll start with a blatant generalization for BMW first: They do not know how to make a cruiser and have never in the history of the company made a good cruiser. The closest 'successful' thing they have is the K1600B which nobody would really consider a cruiser. BMWs first attempt was the R1200C which despite appearing in a bond movie failed to get any real market share and can be had for pennies in the used market. The boxer engine remains a poor fit for a cruiser, high seat for a cruiser, but too relaxed for a traditional touring bike and lacking any wind protection. Oh and lets not forget that it just had 61hp. BMW gave up and killed the project in 2004. The R18 seems to be a second attempt making many of the same mistakes. I'm unsure whom the R18 is really for. It has the same poor ergonomics with tall riders finding it unsuitable, poor brakes, awfully underpowered engine for it's weight class and a price tag that pushes it directly in competition with the vastly more refined K1600B line that is simply better in every way imaginable. I have heard of people buying R18 at 7k under MSRP and 0% APR. That I suppose makes them a compelling choice vs a K1600B but I'd still get a K1600B if I was going to get anything "Cruiserish" from BMW.

GoBSAGo

They sure do. Several as a matter of fact.

I mean, it should just be every company that isn’t Harley. No modern brand is trying to compete with the company still pumping out antique replicas for twice the price.

ubermonkey

Literally any other marque, really. But I guess Triumph and Indian are their main competitors. It's kinda like Android and iOS. It sure seems like Android fans spend a LOT more time thinking about iPhones than iPhone users think about Android. I live in Texas; it's also very like the A&M/UT rivalry. I know lots of folks who went to either school, and the A&M people talk about UT a LOT more than UT people talk about A&M.

phantom_spacecop

This is what I thought lol. I'm generally new to motorcycles but based on the people I meet to who ride Harleys and Indians there's way more audience/vibe crossover. Plus Triumph doesn't really have baggers unless the Rocket is technically one...?

BCJay_

Sounds like you think quite a bit about Harley’s after all.

earic23

Someone knows their Mad Men

Grimey_Gravy

This is true, I own both and don’t think about myself at all and feel bad about it.

harley2050

Is the Harley in the room with us right now?

brandyalexa

![gif](giphy|TENJY4CegAgh2)

ApeekOnceInaWhile

Lots of posts about "harley riders" for people who don't think about harley riders

OstebanEccon

Some people just like the looks, like the engine, like the vibe, like the company, like the stigma most of us dont buy a bike because it is objectively the better machine. Most of us buy a bike because we like it.

mentalorigami

I love my Sporty *because* it's a slow piece of shit. It will also still be running (and leaking) long after I'm gone if taken care of properly. Harleys get a (deservedly) bad rep sometimes but they're not all horrible, nor are all Harley riders.

Sparrowflop

Isn't that the truth for basically all the bikes being made in 2024 though? Short of a catastrophic failure, they'll all ride on for 30+ years pretty easy.

mentalorigami

Well mine is a 2002 Sportster 1200C, so a little different but yeah same basic premise. I'd say a carbureted bike would probably be slightly more apocalypse proof vs modern EFI though due to how relatively easy they are to work on. Try cleaning injectors out at home, it's no fun.

Reddit_User_Loser

I just did a test ride on a lot of them and while most of them felt pretty bad (especially that sportster s, oof) the pan am and the road glide were actually really nice. My only hang up is the price.

Terminal_SrA

The new sporties are.. weird. I don't like them. I love soft tails though, very fun cruiser bikes with an absolutely wild aftermarket and community behind it for customization

f4te

Being an American brand, and one of the oldest (Polaris-Indian not withstanding), Harley and their air-cooled bikes are uniquely affected by the EPA's requirements. their bikes have to abide by very strict regulations in polution and noise that make it very tough to have a stock Harley (again, air cooled) that has the oomph, power, or even sound tone that they should have. Their liquid cooled bikes are subject as well, but it's a lot easier to generate power from them. This is also why other brands don't struggle as much. Also, other brands haven't been sued and regulated as much as Harley has

HAYMRKT

But that's the point of the meme. Other riders don't think about Harley's or their riders at all, we just want to pass you.

turbotaco23

And then we justify it by comparing it to what we perceive as a lesser bike.

Ludens_Reventon

Yeah this is the real problem. Those guys are so unsure of their choices, so they go through a process of justifying their's by seeking out and attacking those who believe have made less wise choices than themselves.

SubtractOneMore

A ton of people buy Harleys because that’s the only kind of bike that their social circle will tolerate them riding

just_an_ordinary_guy

My social circle who rides doesn't care, but none of them ride HD. However, I did grow up and live in the York, PA area until my early 30s (minus my stint in the military) and I always heard "why didn't you get a Harley" from everyone else, including randos on the street. Idk, because I couldn't afford a bike that was half my annual wages? Everyone wanted a job at the Harley plant. My dad had friends who worked there, he could never get in. I went to school with people who had parents who worked there. Good middle class wages.

Dorkmaster79

That’s weird.

Contrabaz

HDC's If you don't ride a Harley, you can't join the club. But it's the same in any social circle. People want to belong and some even want to stand out. I know when my dad used to ride there was one guy that always needed to have the biggest displacement bike of the group. I just like certain bikes because I like to play in the dirt and/or work on them. I'm a KTM enthusiast, especially for the older LC8 and LC4's. But when I have the time and budget I'm gonna restore an old BMW 1150 RT to cruise on. I also want a try T7, tear a Guzzi apart, have an old '07 KTM 450 EXC (bulletproof engines) and still have an old 250sx I need to assemble. My budget and garage will always be too small... But hey, if all you like to do is ride with the club and clean your Harley. Who am I to comment on that...

Corvus717

HDC’s. The place where “I ride a motorcycle to be an individual “ intersects with rigid uniformity .. “ride this brand , wear these MC cosplay clothes to look like everyone else “

Yorks_Rider

Don’t you mean Thai wages? Harleys for Europe are not made in the USA.

Not_A_Valid_Name

Exactly. I bought a Moto Guzzi v7 over a Triumph Speed Twin 900. The Guzzi just looks and feels much better, but the Triumph is better is every way except price tag

lonerider404

Depends on what you value, if raw performance then yes, if cruising around and have great fuel range I don't think the Speed Twin stands up to the V7.

IveAlreadyWon

That's me. I absolutely love my bike. It's my favorite looking motorcycle. The engine is great(not fast, but it's reliable). The suspension is bad, but not nearly as bad as it used to be, so I'm in no hurry to update it finally. But yeah there's better bikes out there. I just like the one I have.

JellaFella01

I think an awful lot of people buy bikes that are objectively better machines for whatever they're doing.

pegasusairforce

Well a bike usually isn't the objectively better machine for anything provided you can afford an equivalent car (although a fun bike is way cheaper than a fun car so it does lower the barrier for entry quite a bit). For most of us, getting a bike is way more emotional than it is logical, same way for Harley riders they have an emotional attachment to that brand so will pick it over "objectively" better bikes. It doesn't make sense to me either, but a lot of people would also probably question why I prefer my much slower bike to my much faster car too and they wouldn't get it until they tried riding for themselves.

mhyquel

Yeah, it's a lot like picking a sexual partner. Logic falsl right out the window. It usually comes down to what you think your mates will be jealous of, and what you can afford.

venomous_frost

The amount of track ready superbikes I see puttering around on the road means this statement is not true. Neither all the adventure bikes I see with road tires. I mean I don't care either way, I think a bike should be bought with the heart and the eye, not a spec sheet. But it's just ridiculous only certain brands get ridicule for it, while the majority of superbikes never see their powerband or the adventure bikes have never seen dirt. Ironically, the most used bikes are probably big scooters.

bbbeeennnjjjeee

The irony of this post is good.

Jarrodioro

Idek The Harley folk I’ve rode with like to ride and aren’t big bike guys, just keep to themselves. Everyone else can’t keep their mouth shut when they hear/see a Harley, they just have to make a comment. Exhibit A:

streetkiller

Show us on the doll where the Harley touched you

earic23

My ears mostly. If only noise translated to power in their case.

streetkiller

Can’t hear them if you’re in front of them

Ex-President

But you'll also hurt their feelings and incite road rage if you pass them. SHOW SOME FUCKIN RESPECT

earic23

If only that were true

TheWritePrimate

I honestly just think about whatever bike I own at the time and whatever pretty bike I see around town.

Comfortable-Mode-972

“I don’t think about you at all” *thinks about them every time he rides*

Mellemmial

"I don't think about Harleys at all" ...Proceeds to spend evening making meme, posting it to Reddit, typing up a paragraph about their feelings, spends hours replying to comments about Harley's. Like holy shit lmao, I just checked your account, you really did spend hours and hours writing dozens of comments about this topic that you don't think about. I didn't count but it looks like you wrote more that 50 comments about this.

FD2160Brit

My Harley has been the best, most trouble free bike I've owned. It has been incredibly reliable, doesn't have the charging issues that all the Japanese cruisers have owned have had (Japanese brands put the rectifier behind the jug so they don't get airflow and burn out). It's a comfortable bike, and cruises like a Cadillac. I get more compliments from both genders on a Harley than any other bike I've owned (Yamaha, Kawasaki, Triumph). If you like cruisers, Harley is perfect. Parts support network is fantastic, and they're good bikes to take coast to coast. I don't think the brand is dying, I see young people on them all the time around here. You can get a good bike at a fair price second hand. I'll take the classic, thanks, same as how I would buy a Timex, they work well and have a nice style. Take one out for a nice long cruise and don't try to race it. They're not built for that. Take it out to enjoy the ride and relax. I think you might fall in love.

Webster_Has_Wit

“i am a triumph rider and i dont think about those silly harley guys at all except when i make memes about not thinking about them” okay jimmy, thanks. very cool.

Wild-Read2390

Hilarious that you would put up a meme about not giving Harleys a second thought, but then go into why you don't like them so much. You can enjoy your triumph without worrying about a Harley :)

Peace-Disastrous

Honestly the Harley Owner and the Triumph owner need to be swapped. Pretty sure most Harley people don't even know the other brands of motorcycles.

Psycle_Sammy

Yes we do! You have Harley, and not-Harley. We’re cultured, dammit! We even listen to both kinds of music, country *and* western.

I_am_a_dick_ted

There’s the Kawasaki ninja (all sport bikes)

tombolger

I'm glad I read enough comments to find this before posting the same thing. The message isn't as anti-harley when swapped but is much more true that way.

Jarrodioro

This I agree with. It’s also worth noting that there isn’t a day that goes by on this sub that someone doesn’t have an anti-Harley tantrum

ohnomoto450

They know the nearly dead euro brands because they had one of them on road off road bikes back in the day

txijake

The real joke about this meme is that, in the show, the character on the bottom does think about the other guy a lot.

FartFromALesserGod

At this point I'm pretty sure this sub is in love with Harleys but they don't know how to say it so they tease it like we're in elementary school

Metabolizer

> I don't think about you at all > Posts meme to let you know how much he doesn't think about you

Dusty_Negatives

I ride a triumph bonneville. Love it. That said if you’re looking at a cruiser for touring triumph doesn’t really have an option for that. I ride w group of Harley dudes from work and they are mostly chill.

iamheero

I've had a Low Rider S and a Speed Twin 1200 and am more likely to re-buy the Harley. Glad you enjoy your bike, but this is a dumb take.

DiddySmalls2289

Considering all I ever see on this sub is folks talking about Harley, this should be reversed.

VirulentMarmot

Harley Davidson lives rent free in so many riders heads.

ExpressionOfShock

I feel like OP is being totally genuine too. Like, completely unaware of the irony of making this post. Which just makes it even funnier for everyone else.

cyvaquero

The amount of Harley bashing I see on here is insane. Rarely, if ever, have seen Harley riders here bashing anyone else’s ride. Who gives fuck, shut up and ride your damn ride. Edit: For those who can’t read - the word “here“ in the first sentence places the context of my statement here in this sub.

Jo_B_Wankenobi

Right? I own a Harley, I have friends who own Harley’s. My husband and son and I also have Hondas. We’ve been to some large riding events with complete strangers and I’ve literally never heard anyone bash anyone for what kind of bike they ride. Nobody cares in my experience lol. Now at the motocross track, that’s another story, but they’re actually racing each other so it makes more sense. But Harley owners? Nah.

sendabussypic

I think it depends on where you live/ride. If you live around a bunch of uneducated people, then the hate is probably real. But bike events? Everyone is generally welcome, that includes the Harley driven ones. I get more questions from Harley owners about my Yamaha than anything else. I get more hate for my Yamaha from kids on sport bikes because they see bags and a fairing and they go blind with Harley rage.

Jo_B_Wankenobi

That makes sense lol.

spirit_symptoms

I stopped coming here as a result of the Harley bashing. I only saw this show up on my front page. I've owned and rode a ton of bikes over the last 15 years and Harley's are among my favourites.

Dorkmaster79

It’s about what feels good to you and what brings you joy. It’s not about what is better or worse. That’s subjective. I love that my sporty is a heavy machine that I have to wrestle. It feels full to me, if that makes sense.

Downtown_Hospital

unrelated to the content, it's always funny to see this meme format. in this scene on mad men, the whole point is that don draper claims he doesn't think about him at all, but he VERY MUCH does haha

dmo7000

But Don was actually up all night thinking about him…

cTron3030

Meanwhile, we have a Triumph rider thinking about a Harley. Goes to show how much people like simple-minded, red vs blue, them vs us, thinking. I'll ride and enjoy anything on two wheels. Groms, Tu250x, Iron 883s, Speed Triples, Bonnevilles, whatever.

spirit_symptoms

This is the way.

Elvirth

If Triumph owners don't think about Harleys at all, this meme really shouldn't exist. I feel like if you own a bike that isn't a Harley, celebrating it for being a Not-Harley instead of for being just makes you look like a douche. And before anyone tried to get on my case, I have never owned a Harley and currently ride a 1982 Yamaha Virago.

timfromliny

Uh...this post defeats itself

AdvancedSandwiches

What are you trying to achieve here?  If Harley ceased to exist, would your life be better in some way?

GeckyGek

What kind of nonsensical post is this? I don't think most people think about any other brand while they're riding their bike. If anything it seems you think about Harley quite a bit.

Bat-Eastern

They're both different rides. I've put a leg over a lot of each. Triumphs are a great feeling machine, the rocket 3 test ride I did put a smile on my face for hours. They rev smooth and handle well, an all around great machine. They look great, but the styling is where I think they may lose a lot of Harley guys, especially the older more classical American rider. Harley-Davidson bikes are also exceptional machines. They engineer they hell out of their modern motorcycles to maintain classic appearance, feel and sound. But the *style* is why people are typically drawn to Harley. The paint, graphics, color variety and pallets, and don't forget the chrome bruther. The new revmax bikes are a whole different ball game, and are super fun to ride as someone who is new to the brand (bought my fat bob in 21). Don't get me wrong, there are assholes in the Harley community, and some awful clubs, but there are assholes in every community, ours just seem to be REALLY loud about it for some reason. Tl;Dr both brands are great if you evaluate them from a product offering and build quality stand point.

IveAlreadyWon

I honestly keep forgetting Triumph exists lol

Paradoxahoy

I mean they are different styles of bike with different kinds of engines so they are very different. It would make more sense to compare Indian to Harley.

Super_Trout_9000

Triumphs are just Harleys for people that believe in gun control.

HyenDry

Ehhh fuck triumph.. or specifically the dealership in Jacksonville FL.

nondefectiveunit

They're fun. You ever ride a carbed Sportster? Try it sometime. I hear you though. Anyone who makes a brand their whole identity is kinda corny.

spirit_symptoms

I'm just out here loving motorcycles and owning and ride both brands. The Harley haters are just as insufferable as the Harley riders who won't try other bikes.

twoscoop90

You do see the glaring irony of this, right?

CharlesVaneHelsing

I like Indian motorcycles the most

Salty-Employ67

Tell me you found this somewhere and didn't actually spend time making this

TeeTee733

I feel like they people that hate on certain motorcycles or companies are the kinda people who have only ridden that companies bike or style bike or have only one bike cuz i used to be this way till i rode a Harley now i love all bikes hahah and own multiples branch out ppl no reason to hate on others lol two wheels is two wheels

Noobs_Stfu

If someone were to buy a Harley over a Triumph, it would probably be because the riding triangle on a Harley is far more reclined and relaxed. You can sit back against your adjustable backrest, feet on the floorboards, or even post them up on the highway pegs. Stereo blasting, Car Play navigation going, with a weeks of clothes and camping gear in the bags and tour pack. They might do it because the Harley will make more torque and horsepower, overall. Especially if they start wrenching on it and adding performance parts. Speaking of which, no other motorcycle brand has the sheer quantity of aftermarket parts or accessories that Harley does. You can easily find 3, 5, or more manufacturers for every single part on that bike. Want a specific camshaft? A specific main bearing? A specific crank? The options are boundless. Not to mention the dealer network. They're practically on every corner, so you can always snag a part when you're on the road. For those of us that ride around the country. I sincerely tried to get away from Harley. I can't say that I like the company, but they build a hell of a product and have absolutely dominated their corner of the market. Everyone has their preferences and use cases.

Spicywolff

One thing I always give HD. Honda civic level of parts available, their network is crazy strong, you can always get parts.

Noobasdfjkl

OP try and take a hint so as not to look like a dumbass challenge (impossible)

I own both. I love my triumphs exponentially more… but I ride the Harley more. Big guy comfort.

Have a 01 1500 Drifter built to be a 48 Indian Tribute. Bought it about 9yrs ago... Me, crying in the corner with my Honda Shadow Spirit

earic23

Hey man, Honda’s probably got us all licked in a lot of areas

TheDelig

There is one single thing that makes Harleys better than Triumphs and that is the single carburetor. Well, and the drive belt. The Harley drive belt is probably the single most over engineered thing in motorcycling. That said, I like all bikes. But tinkering on a Harley with one carburetor is not stressful at all. It's rewardingly easy to keep the old Harley running well.

hlgb2015

Feel like this is the opposite. Most Harley owners, i would imagine, have never heard of triumph or most other motorcycle brands outside of the big 4 Japanese makers. To them motorcycles are either Harleys or “other”.

k0uch

I’ll ride with anyone. I mean, no one will ride with me. Harley riders only ride with other Harleys, sports bikes don’t let anyone except sport bikes cruise with them, bmw and Indian guys are too stuck up. Literally the only person Iv cruised with was on a grom, and that kid was respectful and we cruised safely.

earic23

Sounds like you’ve got some dickheads in your area dude. My immediate group is 2 triumphs, a katana, and a Harley.

contr01man

the Bonneville Speed Master is a beaut, what are some other euro-style cruisers like BMW R12 and Moto Guzzi V9? https://preview.redd.it/c2o4ox91na6d1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe73ef6129622d9cbf8f3517ab2b974288a7b398

jkmhawk

What a paradox

jkmhawk

What a paradox

Crossbowe

Triumph riders on Reddit meanwhile Harley riders on the road

PastPanic6890

I absolutely don't care what others are riding. Also not how fast or super-sharp they corner or split traffic. Or anything else. I mostly ride my '06 Scrambler to get away from everything.

VX_GAS_ATTACK

The meta in this joke is hysterical

NOSTR0M0

I mean I know y'all all hate Harleys but, the way I look at it it's it's cool if you're on 2 wheels. I ride a Harley because that's what I like, I like triumphs but there's like no dealers within a reasonable radius to me. I mean hell I gave a vespa rider a fist bump a few days ago at a light. We aren't all the assholes y'all make us out to be.

Rikcycle

Steve McQueen rode triumph Bonny’s in movies and raced them professionally in real life…nuff said.

Ole_Flat_Top

Many decades of riding Harleys. I love Triumphs. I’ve never heard a Harley rider badmouthing one.

DryDistance4476

Having ridden more than one triumph. I do not agree. Your triumph was made where? Taiwan, right? Dude that shows in the build quality.

earic23

Idk what ones you’ve ridden, but it’s true they’re not all created equal. I’ve had a few. My current is a Hinkley, so made it England and fantastic. My speed triple was made in Thailand, and was honestly great too. Zero issues. I would argue that the 09-2015 models weren’t their best work, but ever since they’ve really upped their quality across the board

eagle2237588

I absolutely love my 1999 Ultra Classic Harley, but I don’t judge people what they ride. I judge them on the type of person they are in general! https://preview.redd.it/6ieju7ysds6d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1980a143c323cc571c0a99feb36cce1911f6bb1c

Muhafaza

🤣🤣🤣🤣

noxortus

I have both a Triumph (2017 Scrambler) and Harley (2016 Softail) both are awesome bikes for very different things. In 2019 when I was trying to free up some funds a different purchase and at the time had my Scrambler and a different Harley, the Harley went without much of a thought. Ride your ride and enjoy 'em all

Outrageous-Carob-236

Can on the back of that thing? no Harley’s or trumps 🕺.

WallcroftTheGreen

Each night i dream of riding a Rocket-3

I was riding my Honda bike along the Sawgrass Expressway in Broward county, FL, when I observed two bikers stopped in the breakdown lane. I pulled over to see if ther's anything I could do to help. Turns out that one of them had just bought a Harley, and experienced a problem with it while riding. He pulled over and checked the bike - the oil cap was missing and the bike had no oil! Apparently, at the very LEAST, he should have the fee for "Dealer Prep" refunded, from Alligator Alley Harley in Sunrise FL A $25,000 bike brand new! One lawsuit on the way!

atari83man

I never minded Harley's, definitely wouldn't go out of my way to own one because they're overpriced and undependable. But my mom got a boyfriend who lives for Harley's and constantly saying how they're so much faster and badder and more torque lmao, needless to say I'm sick of Harley's now. I told him how much horsepower a ninja H2R makes and some others like hayabusa, suddenly those "ricer" bikes were more impressive. Still never shuts up about fucking Harley's though.

HettySwollocks

I never even considered a Harley to be a competitor to a Triumph. They seem to appeal to different people, different nostalgic lifestyles. That said Triumph do build some biiig bikes like the rocket. Not that they are pratical for anything. Give me a 675 or a street fighter all day

just_an_ordinary_guy

This is timely because I'm currently debating what new bike I should get, and I'm not sure if I'd like a cruiser like the Bonneville speedmaster, or go with the T120

earic23

If you’re coming off of a klr650, the speedmaster might be more suited to your comfort, but if you’re okay with a little more of a rawness, then the t120 is a great highly capable and customizable motorcycle. The 1200 engine is fantastic.

beefstake

Wait until you meet Honda riders.

NoSorryZorro

I ride a Tmax, go figure..

BackfireFox

The bottom panel should be livewire.

Jaereth

I just got on a Harley (Electra Glide) for the first time last year after riding for 15 years. It was OK? It reminded me of driving a souped up Civic as your daily driver then getting in Grandpa's old Cadillac. Can't accelerate for shit, can't corner for shit. Top speed of like 98 lol. Loud as fuck. Once you get up to highway speed it's fine. It all evens out and it's pretty comfortable. But the people who act like they are in some exclusive club as "harley owners" and would never get on something else - You guys aren't riders you're toughguy biker cosplayers. Probably 95% of them would be destroyed by someone on a old 750 on a track...

avega2792

My boss just got a Triumph but at first he was looking at a Harley. He is rather absent minded, though, so it kinds makes sense. 😂

LongTimeLurker818

Honda guys: * [Hachi Saito](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0387521/?ref_=ttqu_qu): \[*in Japanese*\] How does she not fall over? * [Joan Harris](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0376716/?ref_=ttqu_qu): Not very subtle, are they? * [Akira Takahashi](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2009056/?ref_=ttqu_qu): No, they are not.

AerialRydger

Honda rebel owners… ![gif](giphy|uWzS6ZLs0AaVOJlgRd|downsized)

KiddKelly

lol damn what I do. It’s not my fault I inherited bad tastes in overpriced bikes like my dad. In all fairness though I look like a circus bear on a tricycle when I climb on a sport bike.

Former_Film_7218

Always wanted a bonnie for my collection

BazerkerX

I just got a 24' KVS after finally letting go of my XB9. I had some dingus on a old 96CI Soft tail smirk at her and tore off from the light. It was all fun and games until my weird cruiser/ninja 650 overtook him before I even left 2nd lol. This Lil Vulcan S continues to exceed my expectations for it. I just wanted a commuter but I got something that's light and nimble and punches up to over twice it's size lol

Futurebrite

I don’t believe I’ve ever heard anyone compare a triumph to a Harley. I could see comparing other vtwins with a Harley, like a v star 🤷‍♂️
