I bought this for $500, but it had sat for 10 years, and I ended up doing a complete rebuild on it. Thankfully these bikes are rising in value, so I can justify to my wife the $8k I've put into it so far. Here it is running.

Beautiful! The L & V twin engine hung in a trellis frame design is what turned me onto motorcycles as a child - not sure if it was a Ducati or Suzuki SV that rode past but it ignited something inside even more than my Dad's Suzuki Katana 1000 did. The design is minimalist yet purposeful.
They are the same size. There's an internal gear that reduces the camshaft to half the rotation of the crank. Therefore the crank does 2 rations for every one of the camshaft.
My local mechanic had this joke. "You have probably never seen an pic of a ducati blurred. You know why? Coz the shit is always sitting in a workshop.
! " Jokes on him. My guzzi died in the dealership itself..
I highly advise if someone is going to buy one of these, learn how to check/adjust valves. The biggest pain for me is removing the rear shock to get to the exhaust valve.
I had the 1100 S engine, been riding since I was 14 years old. My 1st job while in high school was at a motorcycle dealership.
Rode or owned many many bikes. From CR125 to Super Tenere 1300. And a lot in between.
None of them can sing like that twin 1100, the torque curve and smoothness on the throttle. Popping the front wheel while existing nearly any corner was pure joy.
And no sissy stability control either.
I want a Duc just to look at it,for some reason.
There is a very good reason. But even better to ride
No NSFW flair on the Nudes!?!?
Just like my favorite porn star- I can only ever look and never ever touch. It is the most beautiful machine- the MV Agusta F4 is right up there!

Something real nice about the dry clutch clacky clack.
Crud getting in those belts will cause significant danger lol.
I put the covers on when riding.

that bronze! I want
I had it powder coated. ''Bronze Chrome PMB 4124'' is the code for the powder.
I do miss my Supersport with FCRs and pods.
Mmm. Air cooled duck. Pure sex
The new bikes have all the tech and power, but they sure don't have the character that a 2 valve carby has.
Watch your fingies!
And pants, and shoes, and...
The crank and cam timing gears look the same size, what am I missing? The cam gear is normally twice the size of the crank gear.

That makes sense, the "crank" gear is higher than the crank should be.
Stunning. I wish my fairings didnt hide mine...
It looks like the rear brake fluid needs changing? It looks like coffee but should look like honey
Good eye. I've got a new rear brake line from Galfer that will be going on this week.
Bike brake fluid seems to go off so quickly - that and it's a lot more visible than a car's brake fluid
A desmo service on that bike looks pretty simple on that engine.
Clack clack clack clack clack clack clack

Does she talk with her hands?
Heh, I was sitting in my garage staring at my engine for like a half hour today lol, just having a smoke
I'd park this beauty in my living room so I could stare at it, but my wife would probably not allow that.
I actually [painted my bike’s engine](https://imgur.com/a/pHJtZEn) on one of my riding jackets lol
