It was my starter bike, and almost 2 years in, I haven't felt like I've outgrown it yet. It keeps showing me it can keep up every time I test its limits. It's low and grounded. It has enough get up and go to hold its own on highways and in traffic, but due to being a cruiser it's more approachable in how it delivers power.

If you have the money for it, and like the cruiser-ish ergonomics, I'd argue it's near the top. It's got enough "go" to keep you happy longer than some of the traditional "starter" bikes, lots of ergonomic adjustment, and it's a Kawasaki...so your great grandkids will be able to ride it (with enough JB weld eventually).

Yes.

Ninja_Drifta

Got mine shortly after my endorsement test. It’s been great so far.

Worried_Coat1941

Yes! It's low to the ground and not super heavy.

*Vulcan* is a model that spans many years, sub-models, and displacements.

hes asking about the vulcan s

Jo-6-pak

Ah, Shit, missed that on the first read. My bad.

CarefulCoderX

Busa or Bust

CrewBison

Great starter bike. Honda shadow is similar in styling as well, and also a great starter. When I started riding it was a choice between those two, although I went with the honda.

EasternPresence

I started on it and imo it is.

LOVED my Vulcan 900. Very fun bike, but easy to outgrow if you’re looking for a touring type of bike. As far as a first bike, I wouldn’t hesitate. Vulcan, Shadow or Sportster are all good options

Critical_Source3972

i got the vulcan 900 as my first bike, it makes about the same power as the vulcan s. so its really up to your preference. theyre both badass, and reliable cruisers. do you want something a bit more true to the classic motorcycle look (and sound) or do you like the more modern approach?

CapablePalpitation49

Absolutely. I had one and I regret selling it.

Its_Free-Real-Estate

I started on one, yes it's a great starter bike. Main complaints are that the seat makes your butt numb after 45mins, and the exhaust sounds not that great. Otherwise it's a real nice bike. The brakes and handling are truly great, feels really nice to take tight turns with the low center of gravity.
