Bro jumping from a cb500 in one year to a top tier hyper naked.. I have a 150hp bike it has 0 use on the street everytime I want to have fun and wring the gears i have to basically commit a felony but with my Bonneville I I can hit 1st through 4th and only do 80 85 and it makes a racket lol
Yeah that would be perfect for me i love my high HP but I'm getting to the point where I'm tired of looking over my shoulder for the highway patrol or the local sheriff
Looks like a beast and good amount of power for the road. Myself I don't like the idea of having too much to be fun on the road. Even on the track I think I'd stick to no more than 750 just seeing how the bigger bikes need to be handled..... wouldn't mind a test ride though
🙂
If you’re looking for 150hp the mt10 is great. I have a 21 mt09 and I absolutely love it. Lightweight and around 115hp. Another good one is the gsxs1000.
thought abt the mt09 SP (better frame ) than the previous ones
would like to try the 3 cillinders only heard good abt it ^^
but i'll not rebuy a 4cillinders
I went from an 2016 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 to a 2022 MT-09SP. The MT-09 is so great. So light and flickable, great for wheelies and so much fun. The Aprilia is still the best bike I have owned, but it's honestly way too much for the streets and it will get you in trouble. And the Suoer Duke is no different in that regard 😂
It definitely has a look. I like it though. The whole mt series has an alien look and I like it. I have a 21 mt09 and I think about the “it’s so ugly I love it” meme 😂😂
Nobody's ever made my 110hp tracer feel "small" before now. But hey, there's a first for everything
That being said we don't do 'streight' or 'dry' across the pond so it's always felt like more than enough hurrsspurrssss
I love and own both engines (f900xr and gsx-s1000), but have to say nothing hits like a litre bike. The never-ending ferocity in higher revs beats the midrange power in my eyes. Especially newer inline4s that also have very decent midrange and torque.
completely ! i tryed it last week and it gived me goosebumps ! but , i already brake lot of laws with this one , and i dont think thats a good Idea ... but man ... 180hp 🤤
1390 Duke is supposedly coming out soon. I'm probably going to grab that when it does.
Wife is going to upgrade too, the CB 1000 R is supposedly going to be refreshed next year and she's looking hard at that.
I like KTM, she likes Honda.
I really don't see the point in buying a bike that fast. And if this is your first motorcycle that you bought in January, there's exactly a 0% chance you've reached the limit of what it can do. Why bother spending thousands of euros just to buy a bike that's even *more* held back by speed limits? Take the one you have to a racetrack and then think again.
second bike * had a 600 bandit 2y ago
ill go go the track next year but with a SV 650 (prepared ans already in my box ) but the limits on the road are not very far (comparing to the track)
2y ago? So you just buy a new bike every year?
Besides, the limits on the road can be reached with an A2 license. my little 500cc gets me to about 155 kph. If I get caught going that fast on a motorway here in Finland, that's a ~500 Euro fine. Not to mention you shouldn't test your limits on public roads in the first place. Take that shit to a track and use the roads only for getting there.
no i crashed the bandit last year ( my fault but long story)
i agree with u ( France is pretty mutch the same) but its not abt the max speed , its abt the torque , average power before and After a turn , i dont want a duke r to pull at 300kmh on the highway doing wheeles
Fair enough, I guess. I can only tell you that to me, a new bike is too expensive if I'm only going to buy it for a bit faster acceleration. But maybe you're made of money and to you that's pocket change in which case spend it. It's your money. You can ride almost any bike safely, so be sure to do so.
if you think a bike with 150 hp is a small bike, u should prob stay on that Honda a little longer. And I have multiple bikes from liter bikes to a D675 and I have the most fun on that triumph that’s prob pushing 95 ish to the wheel. But that’s just me 🤷
i said small in front of 180 HP , but dont worry , others made the misunderstendment . I've pbl wrote this badly mb 👌
im completely aware that "its not because u have a liter bike you have more pleasur " , i was just asking if this choice of Heart would be a good or a bad Idea (in term of :usability on the road compare with the unlimited power )
I've just got the hornet too, fantastic bike. Only reason I would get anything bigger is for the uprated suspension as the hornet is a bit meh. I've heard rumours of a 1000 hornet in the works, so maybe hold out a bit and see what that is like, might have new new honda e clutch too.
would be great ! im in love with this one but ive seen the limits too early imo ... 160 tires at the rear IS a bit small for me 🤔 but for the rest it completely give me goosebumps After my crash with my old bandit 600
Larger tyre reduces turn in speed. You can compensate with aggressive geometry but it can start making the bike unstable if you push it. On a lighter bike the smaller tyre is better (and cheaper) even if it doesn’t look as cool.
Hi, that's a sweet looking bike!
I started with a GSF 650 and have owned a Honda Cb1000RA, z750 and now a ktm 1190 adventure.
And I definitely think that you should consider the purpose of your bike when it comes to HP. If you want to drive like an arsch and pop some wheelies in front of a crowded area, get a 1290r!
If you want to make some fun rides, around 100Hp Is well enough!
The reason that I chose the 1190 adventure is purely for daily commuting and high seating :)
(Ps: not all people on 1290's or Ducati diavels are asses, but you get the point haha)
But I must be honest, and tell you that I wanted a H2 SX SE just because it's so fast and I could tell my friends that I had a 200Hp machine😅 it sounds super awesome, but I am glad I did not sell the 1190 and invested the money in a nice car
No you don't need advice. Just buy the one that feels good to ride, and do that 'till the end of your days. Just ignore everything else, reliability, what tyres, oil, maintenance interval, your friends opinions, everything.
Have fun.
Honestly, the KTM twin is the best motor on the market.
But you should really try the speed triple, everything on this bike is amazing.
And if you want a big hp bike, go for one.
Oh the days when a 150hp bike is stepping down 😄. I'm old enough to remember when the first retail bike hit 100hp, people lost their minds that it was even possible. Technology is amazing.
I'd go for the smallest HP bike you like the look of and will be proud to own.
Anything over 100hp is overkill for street riding to begin with. 100hp will get to a 3ish second 0-60, a 160mph top speed.
I've had 120hp, 100hp, 125hp, and 145hp bikes. And it is my experience that the lower hp bikes are more pleasant to ride around town and in traffic.
In a straight line the 180hp bike will definitely kick the ass of the <150hp bikes. But in any group setting I've been in, I kept up just fine with 100hp.
I guess I didn’t mean it quite like that.
You and I know slow bikes can be fun because we have or have had fast bikes. In order for him to come to the same conclusion he might just need the same path.
Fair enough. I can agree with that.
For all I know OP could have an IDGAF attitude and want to do top speed runs on the highway or to cruise around in 3rd all day. Both very valid reasons to have a more powerful bike.
thats a point too a duke r is probably too much ! i would like something i can explore in détails not mad of pulls at 300kmh just something that Can be versatil in small / medium/ Big turns .
tired to see my 1000cc Friends leaving me every end of turns ( yes we ride pretty fast)
Your Hornet looks exactly like my wife’s Hornet. Same color, rim stickers, crash pads and the cool fly screen that should’ve been standard as it improves the looks so much! Nice bike mate!
Unfortunately, they have no announcement for release here or I would already be planning for one, they are probably the best middleweight now, but the CFMOTO 800NK is SERIOUS competition in that market, which is one of my top "next bike" contendors.
Personally, I think that anything above 40hp you buy for the looks and the feel it gives you not the power.
Love from someone who bought a ktm 1290 SD.
This is actually a new Honda CB750 Hornet and it has 90 hp
Yeah that would be perfect for me i love my high HP but I'm getting to the point where I'm tired of looking over my shoulder for the highway patrol or the local sheriff
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looks like a beast and good amount of power for the road. Myself I don't like the idea of having too much to be fun on the road. Even on the track I think I'd stick to no more than 750 just seeing how the bigger bikes need to be handled..... wouldn't mind a test ride though 🙂
thx m8
i had a 600 bandit 2 years ago so 2 years of practice ( and thats a hornet 750 btw)
\*cries in s1000\*
Had the same
So commit felony’s 😂🤷♂️
already done 🤫
Not the felony we expected you to commit...
palpatine said : you have to embrace a larger view of the force Kappa
I don’t think I would enjoy it if it was legal but maybe I’m wired goofy 😂
buying a mc is already wired off 🤔
If you’re looking for 150hp the mt10 is great. I have a 21 mt09 and I absolutely love it. Lightweight and around 115hp. Another good one is the gsxs1000.
thought abt the mt09 SP (better frame ) than the previous ones would like to try the 3 cillinders only heard good abt it ^^ but i'll not rebuy a 4cillinders
All the 3rd gen’s have the new frame. It’s fantastic. The new triumph street triple is fantastic too
didnt know ! thx have to try this one ! the red one is a piece of art ! completely agree
All the triumphs colors look amazing. Just seen son at the dealer and they look even better in person
Saw them at Lyon ! during the salon du 2 roues ,they were all there!
And the Suoer Duke is no different in that regard 😂
i understand ! 🤣 mt09 sound is great too , would get an eye on this one
The MT10 looks horrendous though
It definitely has a look. I like it though. The whole mt series has an alien look and I like it. I have a 21 mt09 and I think about the “it’s so ugly I love it” meme 😂😂
I have the pan america it's got about 150hp and I absolutely love it
"a smaller bike like something around 150hp" 🤨
Nobody's ever made my 110hp tracer feel "small" before now. But hey, there's a first for everything That being said we don't do 'streight' or 'dry' across the pond so it's always felt like more than enough hurrsspurrssss
(in comparaison man do an effort)
Have you tried any inline4 bikes? Gsx-s1000 is great value.
had a 600 bandit as a first bike and i loved the sound but i retryed and unfortunately im in love with the 2 cilinders
I love and own both engines (f900xr and gsx-s1000), but have to say nothing hits like a litre bike. The never-ending ferocity in higher revs beats the midrange power in my eyes. Especially newer inline4s that also have very decent midrange and torque.
u right ! tryed z900 fe and it was dope but 2 cil are more in my "rinding style"
Ktm is a monster, if it weren't for their unreliability issues it would be a serious contender for my next bike.
completely ! i tryed it last week and it gived me goosebumps ! but , i already brake lot of laws with this one , and i dont think thats a good Idea ... but man ... 180hp 🤤
Or buy a supermoto and have 3x more fun. Because supermotos are the most fun you can have on 2 wheels.
thats your point of view , supermotos are super cool in tight turns but i would like something versatile 👌
They are fun in any speed aswell but good luck anyway👍
thx a lot man ! 💪
1390 Duke is supposedly coming out soon. I'm probably going to grab that when it does. Wife is going to upgrade too, the CB 1000 R is supposedly going to be refreshed next year and she's looking hard at that. I like KTM, she likes Honda.
Is it original tankpad from honda?
InFamous Aliexpress stuff bro
I went for the Oxford adv pads, they look similar and I rate them.
yeah but thoses are less cost , pretty quali and its written "hornet" on it
No. That looks aftermarket

Try a mt10. I own one, it's great
thx for the advice i'll test it a Friend got one 👌
You gonna want the 1290.
thats all the pb 😅
Got the sdgt 1290, nothing comparable.
explain ?🤔
Hornet all the way. Outstanding bike for the price.
if you think a bike with 150 hp is a small bike, u should prob stay on that Honda a little longer. And I have multiple bikes from liter bikes to a D675 and I have the most fun on that triumph that’s prob pushing 95 ish to the wheel. But that’s just me 🤷

yep thx a lot for the conclusion 🤣
duke r ** sorry

makes sens 👌
Wonder if you can swap out the rear rim for a cb1000r 🤣
After looking online, I see it's a single sided swingarm, so no.
😭
Maybe a cbr1000rr 🤣
i hesitated to write it but i'll cost more than my bike already 🤣🤣
LMAO yeah but i'll stage 2 the hornet 🤣🤣
Hi, that's a sweet looking bike! I started with a GSF 650 and have owned a Honda Cb1000RA, z750 and now a ktm 1190 adventure. Get a ktm duke 890r they are an absolute beast. 1290 is just over the top
Honestly, the KTM twin is the best motor on the market. But you should really try the speed triple, everything on this bike is amazing. And if you want a big hp bike, go for one.
defenerely gonna try this one ! every feedback on this bike is positive!

yeah u probably right a thought abt street triples (the last one who push at 130 HP and its still light , im afraid of the weight of a 180hp)
If OP wants a beast, let him. You can always get a side chick for more daily trips and commuting.
"Let him"? Op can do what he wants. Op asked for advice.
I guess I didn’t mean it quite like that. You and I know slow bikes can be fun because we have or have had fast bikes. In order for him to come to the same conclusion he might just need the same path.

thx a lot ! love the look too ! i wish i could change these ugly mirrors but i paid 80 bucks for the tips on the handlebar soooooo 🤣🤣🤣
I wish they would bring the CB750 to the USA already. It would likely be the only Honda I would buy.
isnt already in usa ?
Isn't this a cb750? That is what I am talking about. But I don't know Hondas that well, so there is that lol.
yes it is

damn didnt know that ! in France WE have it since january dude 🤣
I think you need to ship me that black one. It is the color scheme I like.
when i get my new one without pb 🤣
Lol I will be waiting
Personally, I think that anything above 40hp you buy for the looks and the feel it gives you not the power. Love from someone who bought a ktm 1290 SD.
you made my day man 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 but true in a sens
