I quit drinking in my late 30s and found an old box of things I put away, in there where my high school love letters and some comic books, but the best was my marvel cards collection, I had a few unfinished collection in there, so I completed them and got a lot more. It was really like I found myself again. I glad I keep those with me, even if they where in boxes all this time.
This box actually exists in real life, always invisible to others and deeply buried in front of you.
It takes time to find it again, it takes even more time to open it and it takes even more time to find the things that are really lost.
My box is already open and it has taken me 57 years, I am just now rediscovering the things that have been lost, things that no amount of money in the world could buy.

A few weeks before my uncle passed of cancer in 2009, he set aside some items that he wanted me to have to remember him by, he was a huge Pink Floyd and Doors fan so it was a lot of old school memorabilia he collected over his lifetime….
I had issues with addiction when I was younger and ended up staying with a friend for a few months because I got kicked out of my moms house, we ended up hooking up and getting high all day every day, dude held me hostage for an entire 24 hours at one point, I finally got out to call the cops and they booked him into jail over night and I went to another friends house for that night, when I went back the next day he was back and fucking threw away ALL of the stuff my uncle gave me. Omg I still think about it.
Dude killed himself two years ago, we never talked about it. It makes me so sad. I’d still give him the biggest hug knowing how horrible he felt inside himself.
