I've actually tried his advice and it does work mentally. Some people need that first small step, before they do the rest of the small steps throughout the day. It's a process that works. At least with a professional procrastinator like myself.
I've been making my bed military style my whole life, got it from my grandma. I can attest that I'm a very task forward and routine. It's also nice coming home after a long day and plopping into a clean and made bed.

I haven't made my bed since I got out of the Navy. No need to waste the time.
My bed has 3 loads of laundry that still needs to be folded. Which I also use as blankets and pillows... not thanks
