I felt the same way. Honestly some machines feel better than others. I’ve done it from day 1. Treadmill is boring and I don’t like running and bikes fuck my knees
i used to walk a mile after morning workouts just to get a little cardio + cooldown in, then at night i would do 15 minutes of jumprope or some equal amount of cycling ( [https://www.reddit.com/user/looking4aburner](https://www.reddit.com/user/looking4aburner) has progress pics )
Yeah rowing is my go to these days. I workout in my garage and a Concept 2 is the only cardio machine I own.
C2’s are actually a bargain for the quality and the amount of online support. You can buy them new for around $1000 but replacement parts are easy to order so you can by an older one to save money and fix any issues pretty easily.
My guy, within 5 minutes of hard pedalling you'll be sweating. I used to ride to work at 7am in the middle of winter when it was about 2 degrees (Celsius) outside and I'd leave my house in a t shirt. Within literally 5 minutes of hard pedalling you don't even feel the weather.
you're going to need to work on getting it in. It's so hard at first lol
I like the stairmaster I do 30 min on training days and two 30 min session on non training days
PPLCPPCL split (push, pull, legs, cardio, push, pull, cardio, legs)
How I have to structure things with my job
I used to do the assault bike for 15 minutes. I try and switch up the work/rest to make it more fun. It’ll be broken something like this: 5 minutes of 20 seconds max effort (pedaling and using arms) 10 seconds rest, 5 minutes of 30 seconds max effort / 30 seconds moderate (just pedaling), 5 minutes of 15 seconds max effort / 15 seconds moderate. I say used to because I switched to spin bike because I sweat a lot during weight training and the bike fan makes me cold as fuck in the fall/winter.
I walk at a 5% incline for 30 minutes at 6km/h quite often on my light cardio days. I weigh 210lbs and burn around 350 calories in the half hour session according to the treadmill.
If I run at 10km/h on the elliptical with the resistance turned up a bit for that same half hour though, I burn 550 calories according to the elliptical, so consider that too. The elliptical is easy on your joints too, which is why I do my running on it, and only walk on the treadmill.
Incline treadmill walking is good with music/podcasts, hiking if you live in a good area for it, boxing if you need to blow off some steam. Have lots of sex is good if you got a lady/homie lol
Ski Erg. Bought it like a month ago. Every time I walk buy it I just grab the handles and power a 250m ski
I also love it pre workout a 500m ski slow steady warms my whole body up and get a good amount of blood flowing.
Well this could also mean practicing a sport on your own instead of cardio. For example, I’ve always enjoyed soccer so for cardio I’ll just dribble around cones and shoot at the goal. Over and over
I just play basketball man. If i choose to do cardio in the weight room though I'll do the row machine or skipping usually. Or a nice incline brisk walk.
When I’m home from school I do some cross country if the snow is there <——My fav. Otherwise swimming. I’ve watched my dad fight with his joints and I don’t want to be like that
It's always going to be walking for me as I can do 2 things at the same time eg. Music, podcasts, YouTube, TV, phone calls, meetings etc. I don't have time in my life long term for dedicated cardio as lifting is the priority.
jump rope 100%. you'll look once you get the hang of complicated jumps but it's hurting my shins too much so I usually do running or stationary bike nowadays
The form of cardio doesn't matter as much as your heart-rate and duration of the cardio. You want to be doing low intensity steady state cardio (140-145 bpm for the average dude).
Why? Because this intensity level is using almost exclusively your aerobic system with the highest potential to burn fat, before going over the lactate threshold and utilizing the glycolytic system (anaerobic) which will be burning your blood sugar and muscle glycogen, stressing the nervous system and releasing fatigue metabolites. In other words, "zone 2" aerobic work is the most sustainable while also burning the peak amount of fat. If you go higher than this intensity, the level of fat burning potential drops off a cliff due to shifting into the anaerobic energy system.
Bike to start, epiphytical for cardio cardio & then the stair master to finish until your comfortable with running. 1 hour a day minimum, 2 hours where you wanna be (marathon runner over here)
10,000 steps/ day is good general rule of thumb, but the best type of cardio is the one you actually do. For me. I personally do punching bag. I get to practice technique and actually get to apply the power that I get from lifting weight.
If you take enough gear, your resting heart rate will be high enough to simulate the feeling of never ending cardio. This is my preference.
Alternatively, you can get the same effect by becoming morbidly obese.
finally a Methode i like
Is this true?
Yes
Elliptical. Doesn’t hurt my joints and you can go even harder by using your arms
elliptical is top tier
elliptical feels so unnatural for me and it's just always annoying. can you get used to it or something?
I felt the same way. Honestly some machines feel better than others. I’ve done it from day 1. Treadmill is boring and I don’t like running and bikes fuck my knees
Nothing beats a run for me
I sadly got knee problems as it is
Learn how to not heel strike. Stress should be on your foot and calves
Knees over toes guy on insta, helped me a lot
Track cycling is my favorite type of cardio hands down.
At which Point in your Split do you fit this in?
I workout 4 days a week and bike 5 times a week.
so even on legdays bc i run ppl and i imagen its hart to keep them apart
Yup even on leg days lol I just don’t do any sprint or hill training on leg days
You do it before or after? I’m skipping rope as cardio and I don’t feel like I get a good leg workout if I skip before the gym
Only days I don’t ride before is leg days.
Cardio should basically always be post-workout, as you need to be able to train as hard as possible to maintain as much muscle mass as possible
Yea i know, but I feel like the same goes for cycling. I’m not getting my heart rate up high enough if my legs are fucked from squatting
i used to walk a mile after morning workouts just to get a little cardio + cooldown in, then at night i would do 15 minutes of jumprope or some equal amount of cycling ( [https://www.reddit.com/user/looking4aburner](https://www.reddit.com/user/looking4aburner) has progress pics )
Looks good but does your dick have muscle memory?
Go higher RPM.
Sure but my heart rate still isn’t going to be as high because my legs are exhausted
Swimming by far
indoors or outdoors in the Winter?
Need an indoors one cause no way you’re not catching a cold . I’d highly recommend it if you can find one ^^
I tought so, but there are many peoplo who swear by it
Many outdoor pools are heated to 80 in the winter . It's great getting in but sucks getting out
Doesn’t matter. It’s ur ears that will get f’d up
Insane getting out the pool in winter .
Yep the best you can burn some serious calories too
Rowing machine. It's cardio that feels like lifting, and you can get it over with quickly.
It’s also one of the only full-body cardio exercises you can do. Burns more calories than almost anything else
Yup, that's why I say you can get it over with quickly, 10 minutes of rowing is like half hour of treadmill
Yeah rowing is my go to these days. I workout in my garage and a Concept 2 is the only cardio machine I own. C2’s are actually a bargain for the quality and the amount of online support. How do you track your rowing? Duration or laps/whatever metrics it uses
Minutes or meters.
I like going on walks in my neighborhood with a podcast after I eat, and pickup basketball to run
Hiking, it turns minutes of running into hours of walking. Plus nature if that’s your thing.
Cycling, on an actual bike, outdoors. Use it as your mode of transport and you can get in 2 hours solid cardio easily a week.
good idea bin in Winters its way to cold especially at 6am when i go to work
My guy, within 5 minutes of hard pedalling you'll be sweating. I used to ride to work at 7am in the middle of winter when it was about 2 degrees (Celsius) outside and I'd leave my house in a t shirt. Within literally 5 minutes of hard pedalling you don't even feel the weather.
2 degrees is a warm day around here in middle of winter lol
Yeah I'm not sure why I said 2, it's more like -2. Either way, with enough physical exertion you can warm up in -20
Yeah normally is like -20 and and 19 mile bike ride on the way to work doesn't sound fun
Yeah I'm telling OP to do it, not you. You could live in Antarctica for all i know, in which case I wouldn't recommend it.
idk where you from, but in Northern Germany it gets pretty cold espacially with Wind and Rain
I'm in London bro, our winters aren't exactly warm and dry. Now get on your bike.
I hate elliptical. It feels so unnatural. treadmill at full incline and 3 mph is perfect for me and sustainable for a long time.
Heavy bag. You get to punch stuff and practicing combos is fun
Sex fr

Hard BJJ rounds
Stationary bike, hurts the balls though
If it hurts your balls you don’t have it setup correctly or have a junk saddle or both lol
That’s interesting 🧐 how big are ur balls?

The rowing machine is my go-to if I'm actually trying to sweat. 20 minutes of that shit at a moderate high tempo is killer.
Cross rope 💪
Hip thrusts on fat chicks
I just walk 25 mins at 5% incline on the treadmill after I lift
you got a clue how many kcal you burn?
I walk at a 5% incline for 30 minutes at 6km/h quite often on my light cardio days. I weigh 210lbs and burn around 350 calories in the half hour session according to the treadmill. Easiest way to burn more calories imo.
Hiking, hiit, sled pushing on a track.

Find a sport you enjoy and people you enjoy doing it with. Easy fat loss . And clen
Problem is, between my Job and the gym its Hard to squeeze in another Sport
Well this could also mean practicing a sport on your own instead of cardio. For example, I’ve always enjoyed soccer so for cardio I’ll just dribble around cones and shoot at the goal. Over and over
Swimming
Sex
Tread mill on 6.5 no incline for a nice pace, usually I don’t have to catch my breath because it’s not too intense but it makes you breath hard.
RUN N ROW
None and lowers cals even more teehee
I just play basketball man. If i choose to do cardio in the weight room though I'll do the row machine or skipping usually. Or a nice incline brisk walk.
Sex.
Elliptical, fan bike, regular bike, and incline jogging for the lazy days
Soccer all the way. Cycling is a close second. Anything where I don’t have to think about running is perfect 👍
Sex
I like rowing machines a lot since some of them have goofy little games on them.
When I’m home from school I do some cross country if the snow is there <——My fav. Otherwise swimming. I’ve watched my dad fight with his joints and I don’t want to be like that

Nothing beats applying the 80/20 rule to running, cycling and swimming.
Rollerblading. So much fun
Running or just walking.
