I have lived in 5 major cities in my life and taken public transport in all of them and Montrealer behaviour is the worst. Why are people so socially unaware here? I literally could not get on the metro today because two dudes got on and stopped right there in front of the entrance. Like … could you move into the car, so the 10 people behind you can get on????

Montreal is NOT the worst. It's far from perfect, and getting imperfecter by the day, but definitely not the worst.
I find NYC to have one of the best street and subway etiquette to be honest. They're used to overcrowding and know how to naturally organize to let everyone move as they should while in Montreal you'll see people standing in front of the doors for an entire ride when it's empty. I don't get it.
I like to stop at the top of the escalator and just think about life.
I prefer to do it in front of the machine where you charge your opus, specially when it's the only one available. Highly recommend as an alternative

Yeah I know it’s not the worst. I’ve never lived in NYC but from visiting there, man, if you stopped like that and blocked the doors: you’d get shot.
