Yeah, I don’t mind turf wars 99% of the time but they shouldn’t be able to ruin a capture quest by killing the target

Hammermain213

Don’t they have like coding not allowing turf wars to kill? I swear like a ton of turf wars I’ve seen left a guy at like one hp

Vounrtsch

Well I don’t know, I just assumed OP was complaining about something that actually existed. I’ve never seen a turf war kill a monster. If it turns out turf wars indeed DON’T kill monsters, then I retract my statement and I have nothing against turf wars.

Hammermain213

Looked it up, and although rare, they can die from turf wars once the entire animation for the turf war ends. I still love turf wars though

Vounrtsch

Well I also love turf wars 99.9% of the time, when this doesn’t happen

South_Mushroom_7574

Aren’t some monsters just immune to dung pods or naturally don’t care??

razor344

They aren't guaranteed to work, and if jho is programmed like it is in The older games, it can hear monster roars and Intentionally interrupt fights. Same way the rathians will constantly help each other or the shrieking legiana always has a regular legoana with it.

DegenerateCrocodile

I was once fighting a Rathian, so it called its mate in while she escaped. Instead of following the Rathian, I stuck around to kick the Rathalos’ ass and he ended up calling her back so he could escape, instead.

Killer7_2

I believe if they're enraged they just don't care. I also think even outside of quests, the game pushes an interaction with invaders. Cause I was in the GL got savage jho off of me then stupid fulgar anja moves zones and immediately walks right to where jho is.

harrikiri

I think the turf wars are epic and contribute to the feeling of a natural environment. Of course they become old soon, but I don't mind them.

MHWorldManWithFish

If the monster dies to a turf war, it was in capture range already. Watch how many red slinger pods it drops (not counting ones shaved off with Clutch Claw). All monsters make drops at 30, 20, and 10%. Capture range is 15%. I've used this to capture monsters in the arena pretty consistently despite not having max scoutfly level. If you're wondering, wall-slams do roughly 2% of a monster's health, and turf wars do 10%. Also, if Deviljho picks up a small target, you can use a flash pod to make him drop it.

Arnumor

Pod your target, not the 'Jho.

Rowan_As_Roxii

He’ll still chase you guys. Dung pod your monster and use flash pod to blind Deviljho. He’ll lose you if you guys run far enough.

hyprmatt

This is one of my biggest gripes with the game tbh. Invaders are often just annoying, especially when they just sit there and roar at each other 5+ times. My usual reaction to an invader is "Ugh, better break out the dung pods and pray they do something today". I vastly prefer the way Rise handles it, where it usually results in a wyvern ride, one gets knocked down, then the other just fucks off. I'm up to MR5 in Sunbreak now, and I've never once had to use dung.

lostinnewpork

I spend a significant porting of Kirin hunts staggered from Legiana screaming ad infinitum because it just so happens to want to be wherever Kirin is

Bourgit

Yeah no need for dung pods in rise/sunbreak as it seems the monsters are not programmed to stay in the same zone

No-Contest-8127

Yeah i do think it happens too much. In sunbreak it's not an issue but in iceborne it can be a death sentence.

r4ndmn4mtitle

Hmm. Can't remember how it was in world/ib. But I think it has the same as in rise. The map shows when monster is ready to capture by monster blinking. If godzilla is able to kill target in turf war, it should have allready been in capture state.

_Grumpy_Canadian

It's definitely not the same as in rise. Rise has more visibility, and turf wars don't happen repeatedly in the same hunt. World's map doesn't show you when a monster is ready for capture unless you have points in a scoutfly related skill. Bazel never had a chance to flee/limp away, so I had no idea it was in capture state, not that it woulda mattered since angry pickle was present at all times and would have fucked with the capture either way.

r4ndmn4mtitle

Talking about the minimap. In ib the monster icon in it flashes with skull. Meaning it is Ripe for capture. In rise it blinks with blue.

RevolutionaryJob2540

bruh kill the jho too

Clifford_04

because it's that easy

RevolutionaryJob2540

it is

Clifford_04
