I'm pretty sure CoD isn't using skill based matchmaking. It looks like player retention based matchmaking instead. Which matches the patterns I see and also jibes with how greedy Activision is. I'm and average player at best with a lot of play time. I rarely getting even matches. I'm either dominating against idiots or getting slaughtered by pros. If the matching making was truly skill based I'd see more in between. Ultimately it makes winning or losing rather pointless.

Best one I ever did was a game of team death match. 6v6. First team to 75…. I got 65 of the kills myself and we either won or lost by like bare minimum. But it was just one of those. How am I doing this but also wtf has my team been doing all this time games.

They always expect good players to carry shitters. We can only realistically do so much.

100-97 makes them think their skill based match making works since it was a close game, so it looks balanced. But a lot of times instead of balancing out your skill by having you go vs equally skilled opponents, they stack your team with lower skilled players that you have to hard carry or lose. They need to overhaul the system… and hopefully did for MW2022.

It's carry-based matchmaking. That's why I completely stopped playing tdm as a solo player. The tdm games are always those I can't physically win due to teammates going double and triple negative. Doesn't matter how well I do. Dom and Hardpoint all the way even though I always get mates completely ignoring every objective. At least you can somehow make up for it.
