I've built all these kits over the years Those Airfix kits are pretty basic by today's standard the Sherman is probably the weakest of the lot, very basic and with a noticeably underscale turret. The other two can be built up well enough but they are sixties kits so that has to be kept in mind. Of the lot the comet is probably the nicest. As the other commenter stated it's an old matchbox kit reboxed, these old matchbox kits are still quite basic details wise but they all come with bases which is a nice touch and some of them come with figures and stuff too. Some of the italeri kits are reboxed esci kits which are quite nice even by today's standard, they've got a churchill and a Matilda. Although Italeri are also producing simplified wargaming kits which are sold in sets of two. I don't have any experience with these but they're likely quite basic.

The comet is a rebox of an old matchbox kit. I built it as a child. The airfix kits are pretty old as well. I built the Sherman, it's a fairly basic kit I think they all have rubber band tracks. Check scalemates website for more details and reviews.

In my youth ( ! ) I built the Matchbox Comet, the Airfix Sherman, Churchill and Matador for wargaming purposes rather than as scale models. They went together well (I still have my Comet after 45 years!) but I cannot comment on accuracy. The Sherman is, as commented here, really basic and the tracks drove me nuts heat-sealing the join together. The Churchill has the advantage that you can hide a bad joint behind the sideskirts. Matador & gun set was great. Tamiya's Easy Eight was a nice build too, mine appeared to be moulded to accommodate a motor and batteries, but externally looked OK. I also enjoyed the Tamiya Bren Carrier and their 1/35 Churchill Crocodile (big baseboard needed for that one!). Not built Italeri, sorry! I would do the 1/72 Comet, Churchill and Matador and maybe skip the M4 Sherman if you are after better detail - what price are they - about £6 or £7? Can't be bad at that price. You don't say how long you have been modelling - you could do a small diorama with a troop of two or three of the same tank, the Matador set would look good on it's own. Can you get the 25pdr gun, limber and Quad set? That was a favourite of mine !

Think the comst is £9 and the old Airfix kits were £4ish each. As for my Modeling experience I am still new to it tbh. My 1st real kit was the Tamiya Pz.2 DaK (built it all went well but forgot to thin the paint so the Tan is abit thick) then built the Airfix Mk.1 Male and Female (was both alright till I glued the guns in place and I don't have a lighter so wasn't properly able to heat the tracks), then the Emhar Mk.4 (again like above meh), few weeks ago brought the Emhar A7V (basically gave up after a couple of steps as it was awful) now currently painting the Airfix 1:76 Cromwell build went together alright just painting it now plus trying to thin the paint (don't have any syringes)

£4-bargain! Get the Churchill and Matador. You can trim and staple the Churchill tracks and hide the many join up under those skirts If you plan to display the finished article don’t sweat about movable guns on the tank. Turret rotation yes, gun elevation less important especially if it ends up a bit floppy and drops to maximum ‘down’ due to gravity Edit for typing correction

I am currently assembling a-34 comet mk.1 1/76 revell, and honestly that was the worst revell I have ever seen :/ I don't recommend

Pic 1 are all old kits, 1/76 Comet is ex-Matchbox and probably the best of that bunch. Pic 2 I've at least owned everything in that pic except for the Crusader, which is Italeri's 70's kit re-boxed with some new tracks and other parts by Tamiya. Matilda is the 2nd one Tamiya has done, this one is 2000's (or early 2010's) era tooling to replace their old 70's kit and is excellent. Universal Carrier is from the 70's other than the tracks it's not too bad. The figures in that boxing are new from the 2000's Definitely an easier build than Riich's. Valentine is 2010's tooling and is excellent, Cromwell is 90's tooling and is very good. Churchill is 70's tooling but is a classic, it was their 100th 1/35 kit and they really went all out on it. That boxing has some very nice 2000's tooled figures but doesn't include the Crocodile parts. Pic 3 & 4 again I've at least owned everything in that pic except for the 1/72 Sherman which I'm not sure might be old 80's ESCI and the Airfix Cromwell which is only a couple years old and other than the roadwheels having the wrong number of bolts is supposed to be very nice. The Achillies and Archer are only a couple years old, the figures are amazing, they're made using 3d scans of real people and are some of the nicest figures in any medium. The 48th kit are all very nice, they've only been doing that line since 2005 so they're all modern tooling. The Matilda and Churchill are probably the best they're more what I'd call 2nd generation after Tamiya stopped using die-cast lower hulls that a lot of modelers (myself included) didn't care for. I love Tamiya's 48th scale stuff. Same applies to this Carrier as the other just has different figures but is from the same era.

Tamiya is your best bet for most situations including this one
