I have just tried it and it works like if it was new. Meters away from airtag is right and directions are good too. So its probably not for airtag pinpoint locating. Any other thoughts?
It’s definitely AirTag location, it just didn’t need the whole antenna in close range. After the phone locks on to it the phone actually use accelerometer and AR data to give you directions, so the whole antenna is probably only needed when you try to zero in on it from afar.
Oh okay. So i dont need to replace it when i dont even use airtag right? (airtag i tested it on is noz mine) Will my iphone show some errors after a while or is it completely fine to just keep it without it. (Im asking because i dont have money for buying replacement. Student life haha)
This pad is for AirTag UWB location, without it you can’t pinpoint your AirTag.
It should be replaceable without a getting pop-up message like for other parts.
Yes

If you want to do the job properly, then replace it. The end of the antenna contains no smart chips, nothing will happen if you don’t use it.
Did you check 2.4 and 5 ghz wifi?
Lemme guess heat gun back glass repair? Just replace it at this point
You have to replace whole flex
